"Now with a two-storey expansion and lush courtyard, English-speaking staff and a photo menu, this vintage tea house is more tourist-friendly. It retains its North Vietnamese charm with antique decor, artwork and a rustic elegance, and continues to impart the essence of Vietnamese cuisine. Highlights include chả ốc (ham with periwinkle snails) served with herbs, vegetables, vermicelli and fish sauce, and the subtle crab soup with malabar spinach in a clear broth." - Michelin Inspector

We loved everything about our lunch here. We didn't have a reservation but they catered for my family of 4 quite quickly. All the staff were just so friendly and helpful. They even asked if we wanted to move to a better table when it became available... Something away from the busy entrance. Food came out quick and tasted fresh and really good. Caramelized pork belly and grapefruit prawn salad were my favourites. Given they were awarded a Michelin star, I can see how some people may have expected a lot more and then rated them lower.

I've visited several Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants, but Tam Vi is the first with an actual star that I had the chance to try. Despite the backlash it has received, I enjoyed my dining experience here. The food is reminiscent of home, evoking a sense of nostalgia. It's clean, fresh, and unpretentious -like a warm hug served on a plate. Here’s what we ordered: • Vietnamese Ham w/ Periwinkle Snails 🐌 Rating: 10/10 💯 A definite must-try! I dream of this dish! 😍 Super duper fun play with flavors and texture without blasting your tastebuds. • Caramelized Pork & Egg 🐷🐣 Rating: 9/10 🙌 Flavor is very balanced and comforting. It actually reminds me of my mother's cooking: I would have rated this higher but some of the leaner cuts of pork are a bit dry. • Banana Flower and Pig Ear Salad 🐷🍌 Rating: 7/10 👍 The pig ears give it that nice bite and chew while the banana flowers, I can’t really distinguish from the other veggies. 😅 The dressing is tasty though and made the dish coherent. It's good but I probably won't reorder this. I’d maybe go for another salad next time.

We had an amazing dining experience at Tam Vi and it absolutely lived up to its Michelin recognition. The restaurant itself has such a warm and elegant atmosphere tastefully decorated with touches of Vietnamese charm that make it feel both refined and welcoming. The food was outstanding. Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and introduced us to new and exciting tastes. The mango salad was a crowd favorite, perfectly balanced with freshness and zest, and the squid dish was cooked to perfection. We also ventured into trying unique drinks like corn sugar cane juice, which was such a fun and refreshing surprise. A special shoutout to our incredible server, who was so friendly and attentive, taking time to explain each dish and make thoughtful recommendations. They even went above and beyond to accommodate vegetarian needs, making authentic adjustments without compromising on flavor or quality. At the e d, he explained our other drink and the significance of the lotus plant. Our party of three left feeling completely satisfied and so happy we got to experience Tam Vi. If you’re visiting Hanoi, this restaurant is absolutely worth checking out for an elevated yet approachable taste of Vietnamese cuisine.

It was the most value for money Michelin star restaurant in Vietnam! It had excellent variety of food veg, seafood, chicken, pork, beef and super tropical. The taste was fresh and crunchy! It can please any palette! My favourite was green mango salad with perfect mix of betel leaves, peanuts and baby shrimp fried. The betel leaf wrapped pork was simple and interesting! Highly recommended. One must have reservation and be there on time to enjoy! Food arrived fast so it takes about 45 mins for a table turnaround

We found this michelin place through recommendation. Booking a spot was not a hassle and everything was smooth. We had dinner, took their morning glory, braised pork , and some other dishes. All dishes were served quickly and they even gave us some advices as the portion were big, so they let us know if what we ordered was enough or too much for us. The service was beautiful, all staff were very friendly. I would love to come back next time coming to Hanoi again!

Decided to try Tam Vi based on recommendations. The restaurant itself has a charming vibe, wooden furniture with iron fixtures. The food itself is mid, we had the fried spring rolls and caramelized pork. The spring rolls were ok but i think not outstanding compared to other simpler places in Hanoi. The caramelized pork was not up to my expectations. It's on the fatty side. I liked the brown rice. You can order half white half brown rice, but its not really half haha. The drinks were interesting. I liked the lotus seed drink. The servers are attentive and can speak english. They accept cash and credit card.

Heard about this place from 2 friends. Had to try. The atmosphere and decor and service and the staff are first rate ! The drinks are great. But, The food however is very mediocre! We ordered 4 orders with meat and all the meats are not well- cooked! The beef was not tender and the pork is still too chewy. All these need are more patience and more time to cook to the right degree of doneness. Too bad ! We love the way the owners decorated the place. This place was Michelin star more than once. It makes me starting to doubt if the Michelin people know what they are doing!

An amazing dining experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding, every dish beautifully prepared and full of rich flavors that left a lasting impression. The freshness of the ingredients really came through and there was a nice balance of traditional Vietnamese taste with a touch of refinement in the presentation. It felt like each plate was crafted with care and attention, and it was one of those meals where you can truly appreciate the thought behind the cooking. The service was excellent and the staff went out of their way to make the evening comfortable and enjoyable. They were attentive without being overbearing, quick to notice when something was needed, and always warm in their interactions. It made the entire dining experience feel welcoming and easy, which I really valued. The atmosphere was equally memorable. The space strikes the right balance between cozy and elegant, with a design that feels both stylish and comfortable. It is the kind of place where you can enjoy an intimate dinner, celebrate with friends, or simply relax while savoring good food. The ambience added to the overall experience, making the dinner not just about eating but about enjoying the setting as well. Highly recommend Tẩm vị if you are looking for quality Vietnamese cuisine paired with great service and a lovely atmosphere. It is the kind of restaurant that makes you want to return, not just for the food, but for the overall experience of feeling cared for and satisfied in every way.
