We stopped in for tamales with some friends. The atmosphere was unique and festive with heavy colorful decorations. We ordered the Nopales Tamales as they looked the most unique and interesting. They were delicious with a very nice combination of flavors and the interesting addition of the cactus, very good Mexican rice and some flavorful black beans on the side. Probably one of the tastiest meals of the trip. We also grabbed a couple orders of chips and salsa which were good. We got the agave limeade, which was a little on the sweet side but tasty and free of regular sugar. Some family ordered their churros which came in cute little street food carts with sparklers. The service was friendly. We just happened to drop in, but would definitely go back if we were nearby.

Google
Beautiful restaurant, the staff was really friendly and offered me a sample of the orange mango drink which was amazing!! I got the chicken taco salad and my husband off the fish tacos. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be back!

This place is great and has excellent service and food. It was very quick and seemed like no time we had our food. We got the street tacos and the best part was definitely the rice and beans, the tacos were good too.

Good food in a relaxed, but festive, atmosphere. Staff are also friendly and down-to-earth. They took time out to stop by our table several times to chat. We will be coming back. Thanks again!

Google
I highly recommend Tamale Co. From the moment we stepped inside I knew this would be a delicious experience. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, the staff are friendly and assure that you are happy and comfortable- even providing a purse stand. I ordered the enchiladas which were made from scratch, as is all of their menu, and tasted divine. And, don’t forget the skinny margarita! Flavorful and refreshing. Then, enjoyed the mango cheesecake which was light and not overpowering. Also try the Churro bites which arrive in an adorable cart with chocolate sauce , caramel sauce and whipped cream on the side. Such a fun and delicious experience. Thank you!

Google
Responsive and friendly staff. The ambiance was colorful and wonferul. Its nice that they had vegetarian/vegan menu; however, have to get used to the Tamale taste and would recommend the cheese filled Vegetarian Tamale. Overall, a great experience.

Google
3.5 if I could. The elotes I got were very mid, not enough Mayo or cheese, the corn was also like over and under cooked somehow. But the Ay! Guey fries were sooooooo good, they had the right amount of everything, especially rice. We also got the rice pudding, which was really good but very, very sweet. Definitely would go again, the decor was top tier.

Google
Passing through the area and looking for authentic and local flavors. We had a wonderful time in this quaint little eatery. Tamales and taco salad were delicious. Margaritas were beautiful and tasty. It was quite busy on a weekend night once it hit 7pm.

Yelp
I just realized I've never updated my review since the food truck days! This place is still as good as ever but now with a permanent brick and mortar location! It's a great spot next to foxtail coffee and it has bar seating as well as booths. Parking is somewhat limited out front but there is nearby parking around. The tamales never disappoint! I also love their hibiscus tea! If you haven't been, or not in a while, you're missing out!

Yelp
Wow wow wow! It's taken me so long to finally try this spot but so happy I did. I love the authenticity and variety they offer of one of my favorite foods. It's sooooo hard to find an actual spot in central Florida that sells Tamales. The interior is decorated so fun and bright and I just love all the colors. Please keep in mind your food is not going to come out instantly so enjoy their delicious aqua fresca and enjoy the fun music. I had the watermelon pineapple fresca (wowwww) and the Dos Amigos. Everything was top notch and I am already planning my next trip back. In addition to the good food the staff was super kind and attentive.

Yelp
This one is a bit hard for me since I like the vibes and the food, but the lack of table side service and other items that you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant really errs me. The positives - food is great. Hands down. And I've only been here once, and haven't even tried what their known for - the tamales! So I'll definitely be coming back for take-out. The bad. It's not a real sit down service. You order at the front and then pick a seat and they'll bring it to you. If it was just that, it would be fine, but there is a huge in-your-face TIP jar right when you order. And of course, on the electronic payment tablet when you're paying. So you definitely feel obligated to pay tip despite them operating at lower margins with no true waiter / waitress / hostess despite having no real table side service. They didn't even have tap water the day we went, and didn't offer any standard chips + salsa like at other mexican restaurants - they just bring the food to your table and clean up afterwards. This really is no different than Four Rivers but at least they have a water and condiments station. We had to hail down an employee to get some hot sauce (which should have just been on the table) with our meal. With tip culture getting out of hand and replacing a sustainable minimum wage, I absolutely hate places like this where they're taking away the benefits that the tip is being paid towards while still requesting it.

Yelp
Festive atmosphere and delicious food! When you walk in, you are hit with so much festive color this place looks like it's going to be fun. Strangely, though you order at the counter and sit down with your number on the table and wait for your entrées to arrive, but it's worth the wait because the food had so much flavor. It was amazing. I had the most Mexican tamales and asked for some homemade hot sauce which was so good. I really should have ordered a bottle to take home. Maybe next time. The Carne Asada Caesar salad was delicious. The meat was seasoned so good. I loved it. I think I'm going to be a regular at this place.

Yelp
2nd time at Tamale Co. This time with my husband who us a recent convert of tamales. He loved it. We ordered El Trio, salsa, guacamole and queso with chips. The freshest salsa & guacamole I've ever had and the queso is perfection. My husband had The Traditional, two chicken tamales with rice and beans. Green salsa, sour cream and cilantro on the side. I had Dos Amigos, two chicken tamales one topped with green salsa, the other with red salsa, served with rice and beans. Dios mio, God, it's sooo good. Fluffy, soft, flavorful tamales. The rice perfectly seasoned, the beans creamy and delicious! For drinks, agua fresca de Jamaica (Hibiscus water) so refreshing & sweet! The service is always on point. They all are friendly, efficient and awesome.

Yelp
Great spot for mexican street food. The staff were friendly and respectful. Gave us great insight on the menu. Very cute restaurant with lively and cozy atmosphere. The mango margarita could've been spicier.

Yelp
We had a great meal at Tamale Co.! We got a bag of Chicharrones to hold us off while we waited for our food. We seriously could not stop eating them! For my main, I ordered the Dos Amigos which are two chicken tamales with the signature red chipotle sauce and the tomatillo green sauce. Both were delicious, but my favorite was the tomatillo green sauce! It came with well seasoned beans and rice as well. My friend got the tacos and also really enjoyed them. Plus, we spilt a side of fries to snack on. I highly recommend for a great meal in the hour glass district!

Yelp
This was our first time dining at the new College Park location located on Edgewater Drive. We popped in for a late lunch on Saturday. The service was excellent and he described all the options. I really wish they offered a sampler plate with a variety of items to share. They did a great refresh of the space and included lots of authentic artwork and bright colors. The menu is extensive and the items we tried were delicious. Cocktails were a little pricey for the size, but super delicious. Highly recommend the fried plantains as they were some of the best I've had. This is a welcome addition to College Park, and the space seems super family friendly with kids menu, and reasonably priced options for them. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Yelp
2nd review or update. The interior and music are fun. The staff is friendly and attentive. I sat at the bar, but everyone seemed to be getting good service. You order at the register and they bring drinks and food to you. I ordered the "Most Mexican". The tamales are really good. I'm typically not a fan of refried beans, but the refried black beans are good. I ate 1/2 or more. I took 6 pork tamales home for my freezer .

Yelp
New favorite restaurant! Right from walking in, I fell in love. Such beautiful and vibrant decor! Walk up counter to place your order and the amazing staff will bring you your food & drinks. Let's start with the drinks, full bar and an array of fun cups to enjoy your beverage out of! The food - you have to start out with the chicharron elote. I'm not a huge fan of chicharron but they made it so thin, light & airy it was a perfect compliment to the corn on top! The birria meat is so flavorful! I tried the Quesa taco and grilled cheese and enjoyed both! But let's be honest the star of the show is their namesake - the tamales. The chicken tamale was one of the best tamales I've had!!! No meal is complete without dessert and the churros are where it is at! They come on an adorable cart with dipping sauces! Make sure to check out the items for sale too. They have luncha libre masks, cups, decorations and unique fun shirts! Will be back for sure!

Yelp
2491 Edgewood dr Orlando Best tamales iv'e had in 40 years! Homemade, delicious and many to choose from. I had chicken and pork with tamatillo sauce. Refried Black beans best I've ever had and the rice is not your run if the mill average. By far the best Mexican I've had in Florida

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place for a while. We came for a Sunday night dinner. Ordered the beer special (2 for $6) but they were out of two of the beers we wanted, so ordered the third option. Be sure to bring your own water, because they don't have free water, you need to buy a water bottle. Had the elote corn, chips & queso for appetizers, and they were really great. Had the fish tacos and shrimp fajitas for dinner. The fish tacos were great, no complaints. The shrimp fajitas had great flavor, but they still had the tails on the shrimp. So when they came out sizzling, you couldn't pull the tails off without burning yourself. You have to wait for them to cool a little to just cut the tails off, but then you are losing a good amount of shrimp. The inside was super cute with fun decorations, and the wait staff was awesome, Would come back for the appetizers and tacos, but definitely not the shrimp fajitas

Yelp
Not very good. Food is alright at best. Agua Fresca was $6.25 had to get up and order myself and still prompted at the screen for a 20% tip, no thank you. If cilantros taqueria is open, literally next door go there it's 10x better

Yelp
Amazing Horchata!!!! My favorite whenever we come to Lake Eola. I have had their quesadillas before and they are packed with cheese & flavor. Absolutely delicious!!!!

Yelp
Wow! Have been wanting to try this place since we went to crispy cones! Today we arrived around 11:15, they just opened and no one was in there yet. The staff was so friendly and the decoration inside was so delightful! You order at the register and the nice man at the counter recommended the birria grilled cheese (and even went and pulled up videos from IG), and the carne asada tamale, we also got the aqua Fresca pineapple to drink. You can go and seat yourself anywhere after you order and pay. The food, the food, wow.. best tamale I have had in a long time and that grilled cheese? Damn! Best grilled cheese ever! We rolled out of there and probably won't be eating for the rest of the day. The staff were just so friendly and the food is amazing!! Highly recommend if you need some good food.

Yelp
I've been a customer since the beginning at their food truck. When they opened in Hourglass District, only 2 miles from my house, I was thrilled! My go to order is Dos Amigos, and never disappoints. I never tried tamales before I went to Tamale Co, and they set the standard for all others to compare. The owners & staff are always friendly, always welcoming.

Yelp
Walking into Tamale Co. is like walking into a piñata, so colorful with Mexican decorations and art throughout the dining room mixed with some Spanish music. We sat at the bar and we had to ask for menus and once we ordered our drinks it took kind of a long time. I ordered a Elote for an appetizer and it came out super fast, the Elote was really good and tasted fresh. The margaritas are pre mixed so you would think we would've recieved our drinks faster. We got the large Mango and Strawberry Margaritas and they were delicious. The tequila didn't taste strong but me and my husband were buzzed halfway through our drink, for the size and price of the margaritas it was totally worth it. The music is so loud it was hard to place our order with the bartender. I had to sit real close to my husband in order to carry a conversation with him. On the plus side they were playing good music lol. We placed our orders for the Carne Asada Tamales and for the Al Pastor Tamales. It took awhile for our food to get to us so the bartender offered us some Chips and Queso for the inconvenience, which was a gesture we appreciated. My husband recieved his food first and it came out sizzling and smoking. His tamales had tons of carne asada, the actual tamale was bland but the toppings were decent. I got my al pastor tamales they were just barely warm so I asked the bartender if they could heat it up, and she advised me they came out warm because the cook put cold salsa on them, so that makes sense why they weren't hot. She was happy to reheat them for me and it didn't take long at all. The al pastor tamales had more masa than meat so they were ok. If I do come back it will definitely be for the margaritas and possibly just for appetizers.

Yelp
If your looking for Latin inspired food with vegan options, this is one of the places you need to go! Vibrant place, friendly staff and hot flavorful food! The Tamale Co. is very creative and the dishes look like art work when served! Big portions that are very filling! I tried the Mex-one nopales vegan tamale, first time trying a nopales! It was wonderful! My husband has the Frijoles Negros vegan, he said many times how the food was hot and so flavorful! Nice spot to stop!! We will come back!!

Yelp
From the person who took our order at the counter to the bartender and the server the customer service was amazing! Everyone made us feel like we were family! We had the salsa and chips as starters and the salsa was very fresh and the chips were delicious! We ordered the watermelon margaritas and they both were amazing as well. The main courses were the steak fajitas and these loaded fries (can't remember the name) but they were the star of the show! I had fish tacos which were so good and the fish definitely tasted fresh and not frozen! Nothing disappointed the ambience was curated perfectly to the Mexican style aesthetics!

Yelp
First time trying Tamale Co and I enjoyed it. When you enter the restaurant you can hear the music playing. You have to order at the register and your food is delivered to you. The staff was friendly and helpful with questions. The eatery is decorated with vibrant colors and feels festive. I ordered the carnitas Tacos on flour with black beans and rice. The meat was flavorful and the onions provided a little crunch. My companion ordered the fries with carnitas and she enjoyed them. If you are looking for a quick spot that will satisfy your Mexican food needs then this place is worth a try.

Yelp
Went here recently for early dinner after a dr's appt. The place is known for the Tamales. Soft Tender Fluffy textured Tamales. I ordered the 2 chicken tamales with green sauce along with the black beans and rice along with a large cold Horchata. The beans nd rice here is delicious. The black beans is mashed and the fluffy tender mexican rice has hints of mixed vegetable medley (the frozen kind). The Chicken tamales is again delicious. Fluffy light tamales masa makes this place unique. The masa is not heavy and condensed. Unlike some who make the tamales at other places. The chicken is seasoned well and the green sauce to me this time was kind of acidic. It needed more seasoned broth imo. What I noticed the portions of the sides got smaller usually its hand scooped but this time the rice is bowl measured and the beans was not over flowing unlike before. I am not sure if they pre plate the dishes but when the plate was served the beans looked top dry. The Horchata was not filled to the rim for $6.50 I expected that. The horchata is delicious with cinnamon sprinkled on top. The mugs they used for a large agua fresca is cute and heavy. They sell the mugs for $20 and I was tempted to buy the mug as my "stanley" mug LOL -- Maybe next time around I can re consider getting the mug. The mug has weight that keeps the drink cold for awhile I think it is made from Mexican Glass? So this is not really a table service atmosphere. You order then sit down and wait for your food. Food comes in fast here. They sell mexican merch here from mexican masks to bags and snacks. Tamales and Co is fave in regards to eating Tamales you cannot go wrong pass the texture the masa is made here.

Yelp
We are here for lunch yesterday. We got the Cancun fish tacos, corn elote, margarita and cheese quesadilla. Ok wow everything here was amazing. We ate every last bite. The food here tastes authentic and fresh. There are many vegetarian plant based options here too on the menu. The service was fast to bring out our food. The decor is so fun too. We will be back for sure.

Yelp
Great food, great service, friendly! Felt like we were invited into their home. Fantastic mom and pop place. You'll love it!

Yelp
I had no idea this place existed until a coworker told me about it, but this will definitely become a frequent lunch spot! Tamale Co is such a beautifully decorated and quaint Mexican restaurant located off of Bumby and Curry Ford. It gives you very dia de Los muertos vibes & the staff are so friendly! They were patient with us as we were trying to figure out what to order but ultimately I went with Elote (Mexican street corner), chicharrones with Valentina hot sauce, and chorizo tostadas. The chicharrones were shared between four people due to the portion size. I'm a sucker for street corn and the Elote here didn't disappoint at all! The tostadas had a nice crunch and were piled with enough chorizo to fill me up after eating one and a half of the 3 provided. I took the rest home and it reheated well in the oven! This restaurant also has their own merchandise section if you'd like to pick up come fun shirts off bags on your way out! This ended up being such a fun discovery, so I hope more people are able to check this place out.

Yelp
It's in the name - the tamale is the thing to get! Delicious, as are the refried beans and rice. I definitely recommend getting their chips, they are super tasty and seem to have lime salt or zest on them? Soo good. We ordered takeout but the portions were still decent.

Yelp
I had the opportunity to enjoy Tamale Co. tamales at a recent Yelp event, so when I saw that they were going to be throwing a special Tamale Day event, I knew I wanted to get myself over to the Hourglass District to enjoy some great Mexican food. For how little parking there is for the whole complex there is a lot of seating inside--although I'm sad that Le Ky Patisserie closed down, it's great to see that their space was used to expand the dining area of Tamale Co. A rainbow of colorful traditional decor lines the walls and hangs from the ceilings. It is beautiful and the presentation they do on their foods certainly matches that! Ordered some street tacos and aguas frescas alongside our beef birria tamales which they provided for free to celebrate Tamale Day. Food came out after a short wait. We were well-attended by staff despite this being a counter serve place. We recognized some who had been at the Yelp Event--including the co-owner Jennifer who stopped by to greet every table. The hibiscus aguas frescas was delicious but maybe a little too sweet for my taste--having had aguas frescas in Mexico I knew this was to be expected! The tacos we ordered (chorizo, carne asada, and carnitas), were all so delicious in their own ways, topped with verde sauce, cotija, cilantro, and picked onions and paired with a side of rice and beans. The carnitas was probably my favorite of the three, but I think that the rice was actually the best thing on the plate--savory and well-seasoned without being overly salty. The tamales were delicious and moist, and just one of their many flavors which I hope to return to try more of. We saw a neighboring table order churros which came in the cutest mini-cart...I don't know what they tasted like but oh how I wished I was hungry enough to get it!

Yelp
Looking for a Mexican restaurant? Try Tamale Co. It includes outdoor seating as well as indoor seating, a bar and a pickup window for to go orders. The establishment is decorated bright and colorful and the on going theme is Frida Kahlo which is displayed throughout the whole building. They also sell merch such as t-shirts and máscaras (for those who admire Mexican wrestlers). My partner and I decided to get food for to go so we ordered through the window. Servers were very attentive and welcoming, made the ordering process easy. Even the food is displayed beautifully in its packaging. If you were to order an agua fresca, I recommend getting the large size for they are stupidly generous in their portions. Definitely worth the price!

Yelp
We came here for lunch as we love their food truck & just discovered they have a permanent location! You order at the counter & take your seat where they bring you your food. My husband ordered the Michelada & the Birria Quesatacos, and I ordered the El Garden Tamales. We both really enjoyed our food and would absolutely get again. The atmosphere is so fun, it made the experience that much more enjoyable.

Yelp
Best Tamale we've ever had! Great service, excellent aesthetics, we will be back! Can't wait to have more food and margaritas there again!
google avatar

Yelp
The ambience was great as soon as you walk in. The wall to ceiling decorations had a great touch! I loved the vibe. The food was very delicious and the service was quick from the moment we ordered. Would definitely be coming back.

Yelp
The fish tacos were amazing! The fish was fried perfectly and the sauce, slaw, everything was great. They were huge too. Inside the restaurant was pretty cool, a lot of things to look at and a lot of color. The service was good - you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table.
google avatar

Yelp
Tamale Co has quick and friendly servers, chill vibes, and great food. One of my friends and I came here for dinner last week. We started off with the chips and queso. The queso was amazing! Definitely get this as an appetizer when you arrive - you won't be disappointed. They also had a wide assortment of alcoholic beverages but I went with a modelo! Can never go wrong with a beer and tacos. For my meal I got the birria quesatacos. The meat was super juicy and flavorful. I loved the dipping sauce with it. The only thing was the tacos itself did get a little soggy quickly sadly so I wish it was a bit crispier. Maybe I'd order them extra crispy next time. The servers did come by with dessert samples at the end which was super sweet to share with everyone in the restaurant! I will definitely be back here.

Yelp
Food is overpriced, mediocre and then the 3% card fee. Sorry but there are other choices that portions, quality and value are much better.

John F.

Yelp
Gotten take out a couple of times. It's been good. Ambiance looks great next time will eat in.

Yelp
Um....yum! So the ladies working tonight were on point. They were courteous and prompt. The food, I mean.......just what I needed, great flavors a good amount of food and well price. This place has sufficient parking, a bar, a nice quaint vibrant dining area and small outdoor space. Really enjoyed it :)
google avatar

Rebecca P.

Yelp
Ambiance is fun and lively - well decorated, tables and booths inside and a few tables outside with umbrellas. You order at the counter like a food hall but they deliver the food to your table, and the food service is fast! Everything we ordered was perfect in flavor, portion, and temperature. Appetizers we had: Elote, chicharrones elote, Mole fries & Jenny special dip with chips (our favorite!). Entrees: pollo ranchero tamales, birria quesotacos, chicken fajita tamales, & carne asada fajita ramales. Be warned! If you order the fajitas, make space because they are large portions. EVERYTHING had great flavor and seasoning, nothing too spicy for our non-spicy friends. For those that like spicy, ask for jalapeños on the side.

Yelp
We were excited to visit Tamale Co. after trying their food at a different Yelp event. I love their space in the Hourglass district, from the wonderful music to decorations of the restaurant. We went for dinner on a busy Saturday night. Despite this, we were able to order and get our food within 15-20 minutes. We ordered the trio tacos (carne asada, carnitas, and chorizo) and some tamales. The tacos were delicious and were loaded with meat, herbs, and pickled onions. My favorite was the chorizo which was so moist and flavorful! The MVP was definitely the pickled onion that gave the nice acidic kick to cut through the heavy meats. Also, I LOOVE their rice and beans. These are some of the best rice and beans I've eaten in awhile and I can definitely tell it was made fresh! The tamales were good and was not dry. I wish there were a little more filling but it was overall good. TLDR; wonderful new Mexican restaurant and I would highly recommend their tacos!
google avatar

Debra F.

Yelp
Walk in, order at the counter and they bring the food when it's ready. Lots of tamale choices but definitely get the large horchata. Tables and booths, gets loud when it's busy. Parking lot is small so parking is sometimes an issue. Not fancy but I like it. If you like tamales check it out, other options are limited.

Taryn M.

Yelp
First time going was on cinco de mayo, with a packed house the service was incredible and the staff made the experience amazing. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and the food was absolutely fantastic! The hibiscus lime margarita is a must! Can't wait to go back again.

Yelp
Tamales and Co. is a visually appealing and colorful restaurant, though its small size means seating can be a bit cramped. Finding the perfect spot to sit is key, as space around the tables is limited. The ordering process is straightforward but self-service. You go up to the register to place your orders, receive a number, and then find a table to wait for the food. Note that there are no utensils or napkins on the tables; these are brought out with your order. For those who prefer, there is also a bar area for seating. The food is the highlight. We tried the carne asada fajita and the chicken fajita tamales, both of which were really good. The agua fresca horchata and limón with jicama, were also delicious. The restaurant atmosphere is enhanced by good music and TVs displaying sports events, making it a lively spot for a casual meal.

Yelp
Overall, it was a great experience at Tamale Co. so I'll start with the drawbacks first since the rest was so good! The inside is small (because it's a store front) but it was easy to find a spot at the time we went. You also have to order your food at the register and not from your table, and since it's small that can be a little awkward in a line waiting to order. It was also National Taco Day and Taco places all over Orlando were having deals. When we arrived to Tamale Co, we asked what deals they have and they told us they didn't start until later at 6pm when the band comes. Made me wish I had called first because we probably would've gone somewhere else. However, those were the only drawbacks. The food was delicious and the service was great. I ordered a shrimp and Birria taco and it was very good. They didn't serve the traditional sauce that goes with it and that would've been a great addition. I also ordered the Tri which is a platter of chips with Queso, Guacamole, and Salsa. BUT, they didn't have any Salsa at that time so I got double Guac. Probably the BEST Queso I've ever had in my life‼ I ended up trying it with everything lol. The guac was also good but I added a pinch of salt to my liking. The group I was with went was happy with their meals too and it didn't disappoint.

Yelp
Every year I attend Yelp Orlandos big events at the Orlando science center and every year I see this wonderful business out there on the outdoor patio area working so hard and always smiling. These year I kept going back for those wonderful chicken tamales samples and knew I had to go visit and support this business while here before I left to go back North. I located and went in. It was beautiful. Colorfully ornate inside, made you feel happy when you walked in. As i entered at opening time there was that little sweet girl with a big smile that I saw the evening before. I said do you sell these wonderful tamales frozen So I could take them back home 2 1/2 hours away? She said yes, so Natalie started preparing my bag to go for me. I even ordered some fresh hot ones to eat on the road home. Enjoyed a great conversation with Natalie while waiting for my hot tamales and loved that they look forward to the big event just as I do every year. So it's I grew up in San Diego I haven't had such a wonderful tamales since then. The next night heated up the beef and chicken ones I bought and shared with my whole family. Everybody really enjoyed them. Guess this will now be another one of my stopping places when I visit Orlando. Food is awesome, vibe is great and so friendly!

Yelp
I ordered on Uber eats. I had the ropa vieja tamales with rice and beans. The flavor inside and out was great on the tamales and I really loved the beans. It was very filling. The leftovers were still delicious the next day microwaved.

Yelp
I came for the free tamale on national tamale day. So it was packed with people. Even though it was super busy all of the employees were very welcoming to everyone coming in to their establishment. Which in it self was very skillful in it self and still being very efficient in getting peoples orders out at the same time. Now to get to the free tamale. It was tasty but lacking in meat to masa ratio. There was a lot of masa with very little meat. But having said that we did meet the very nice little old lady that made them with all her love. And her explanation on her thought process in making them. She was so worried she wouldn't make enough for the day. I ordered their large mango margarita. I could not taste any flavor other than the alcohol but after I added some of their pineapple water I was able to enjoy it better. The margarita was served with a mint stem, tajin rim and mexican candy. The pineapple water was also prepared with a mint stem, lemon slice and pineapple chunks. It wasn't too sweet and was very delicious. We also ordered their fresh lime water that also had a mint stem and lime slice that was refreshing. Onto the appetizer. We ordered their street corn that had cheese and tajin it was delicious and their 3 way dip that came with the quacamole, white cheese and salsa. The dip was served with their tortilla chips. My son absolutely loved their cheese dip. But I loved their guacamole it had nice big chunks of avacado. We all did enjoy all 3. I ordered their 3 sopes of beef steak. Fried masa "plate" and spread on top was refried black beans, beef steak, shreaded raw cabbage, diced tomato, crema, guacamole, shreaded cheese. I added some of their hot salsa which I asked for it does not come with anything. I loved it! The masa was thick corn tortilla, and meat was not to over cooked and ingredientes tasted fresh. My daughters ordered their 3 surf and turf birria tacos. Which was 3 thin fried corn tortilla with the birria shreaded beef and shrimp, onion and cilindro with a side of yellow rice and birria soup. I had a chance to taste. The tacos were delicious the shrimp was not over cooked and seasoned to perfection and the birria meat was not to salty or over cooked but the rice was a little dry but not to much and was tasty. My girls said they loved it and my son ate all their rice. So they enjoyed. For dessert we ordered arroz con leche(rice milk) , mangonada, and the churro cart. Now personally I am not a churro fan but my children are. So they enjoyed it a lot and they thought it was cute that it was served in a small street cart. It came with 3 dips chocolate, caramel and whip cream. The mangonada had mango chunks and mango sherbert with a little chamoy. It was very mango very delicious my daughter and son enjoyed it. And the rice milk was my favorite it was a little too sweet to my liking but I enjoyed nonetheless.

Yelp
So glad we popped by this place for a quick bite! Right across from Hourglass Brewing, this place has the perfect location for getting some food with your brews. The first thing we noticed walking in was the bright and festive decor! They stay true to the street food theme with stunning art on the walls and tons of differently shaped pinatas hanging from the ceiling. It feels like a great setting for margs with friends. For food and drink, we ordered a chorizo taco and two chicken tacos, plus a hibiscus margarita. The margarita was the prettiest, tastiest drink I have had in a while! It was delicious and I loved the fresh fruit on top. I still can't shut up about that chorizo taco, though. Wow, so much flavor! Do not skip out on this, order two! I mentioned to one of the staff how much I loved it and she says it's been her favorite food since she was a little girl. Speaking of the staff, they were another huge highlight of this place! They were all super friendly with us and very funny, and we could see how much they all got along with each other too. It was such a pleasant, happy atmosphere. Please check it out!

Yelp
I had the cheese and chorizo tamales. They were good! I will definitely come back! The service is order at the counter and they bring out the food. It was a little weird as there isn't a menu board (that I was able to find). The menus were at the counter and I had a huge line behind me so I just ordered the second thing on the menu. Now that I know how it works, I can't wait to come back and try some of the other items I have seen go by. The place is pretty cool inside too! Kinda small and very busy because the food is so good. I liked the sombrero lights. However, the music is LOUD. They play everything from Taylor Swift to Mexican Banda, but it's loud which makes groups of people talk loud.

Yelp
Authentic. Having lived in SoCal for almost a decade, I was lacking something huge. Central florida, specifically Orlando is devoid of good, authentic mexican food. Not the "Mexi-fusion" type places that charge $20+ for enchaladas. I'm talking real, affordable, authentic mexican food. Tamale Co is it. I've tried their tacos and it brings me back. it's as simple as the beans and rice. flavorful and delicious. A must have when you're in the mood for real mexican cuisine, not the upscale overpriced mexi-fusion type places.

Yelp
Best tamale in have found in the Orlando area. Service was excellent and the ambiance is awesome. Always ask for the churros for dessert they won't disappoint!
