I walked in. It was very clean. The guy who took my order was super friendly answer questions great customer service. Menu very straightforward. I really wanted a Champurrado but I got my tamales so fast (I picked up a dozen )and it was super hot. I forgot all about it, but I will be back to try. It seemed to be a very family friendly place. Monday Through Friday it opens at 5AM this is to 6 pm 6 am- 6pm Saturday and Sunday according to the Internet

Affordable and generously filled tamales that do not skimp on flavor. Their verde especially was excellent: bright, savory, and delightfully garlicky.

Great place with great service. Clean and tidy interior with fair, reasonable prices. Their food is delicious. I tried the pollo verde and rojo and the puerco verde and rojo. All were absolutely delightful. Come on over and grab some hot and freshly made tamales. Cheers!

Called ahead to place an order late morning on a weekday, worker proved to be fast and efficient. They get VERY busy on the weekends may have to wait a few minutes. Champurrado was pretty good. Personal favorite tamales GREEN CHICKEN & RAJAS 😋🔥Nice local taste of home!

Absolutely unbeatable and legend worthy tamales. It's hard to describe how good these are compared to the hundreds of others I've had in my life. Just incredible. There's not a bad one on the menu. The love and care in the food is evident. This isn't just another tamale business, this is an extremely high quality and extremely good value meal.

Was a proud fanatic of this place until I was given raw tamales. The young man gave me options I grabbed 24 total . He unravels a green one and tells me “this one is cooked. Maybe they didn’t all cook right. I can cook them for longer.” Mind you I lost two tamales at home already checking to see if they’re raw plus now the one the young man unraveled. Couldn’t replace them because after I came they sold out apparently which is odd because I just grabbed them less than maybe ten minutes ago. I did get my money back but I’m super disappointed on receiving raw food. Unacceptable. —————————————————————— UPDATED REVIEW 10/10/25 - AFTER messaging the owners - they reassured me about the situation and gave me 24 tamales ON THE HOUSE FREE - I’m changing my bad review because this is how you get your customers on your side. They were firm on how they can make it better for me. This batch they made for my family and I were out of this world seriously. They’re moist, enough meat and enough salsa inside. I’m content and will continue to come to this establishment. It didn’t take long for the owners to reach back and I truly appreciate that.

Best tamales I’ve had in a long time. Piping hot, very fresh. Nice garlic flavor. This will be my new go to spot. Very affordable also!

Arrived to a clean (but relatively empty) space. Not many people know about it or not many chose to sit-in for lunch. But there were two ladies who came in for their tamale craving after us. Tamales are good and tasty, with just the right ratio of protein-to-masa. And the strawberry tamale was interesting and the first time I've had it done right. Would definitely go get my tamale fix here again!

10/10 Live in Pisen and then Belmont cragin had my fair share of years of tamales. These were 10/10 so good. For one tamale it's $1.85 for 1/2 a dozen is $10 and for 1 dozen it's $20 the prices .Also the tamales are a good size.

Love this place! Every tamal taste SO SO GOOD!! I will usually go to the south side to get my tamales because the quality of the ones in the city was not the same and let me tell you this spot did not disappoint! Highly recommend ! The green ones and rajas are my favorite!

I was craving tamales this morning, and to my surprise, this spot popped up in my search! Turns out they're super close to me, so I decided to give them a try -- and I'm glad I did. The tamales and arroz con leche were delicious, and the prices are really reasonable too. I'm happy to have a tamaleria in the area! Try them out!

I've purchased tamales from Lupitas more than a couple of times now, they are so good! I've always said the best Mexican food and tamales are in the south side of Chicago. Well now we have the south side representing in the north side of Chicago, because their first location is in the south side. These tamales are delicious! Perfect size, not dry and are delicious even when reheated.

Love these tamales and the prices. Clean and good place to sit down and eat. The service is good too one person only but it moves on pace.
