Google
Hole in the wall restaurant. The food is as authentic as you can get. Reminded me of eating at grandma's. Will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu. The atmosphere is tranquil. Good place to relax and enjoy a meal by yourself or the Family.

Google
I absolutely love going here ! Great food!

Google
Food was delicious!! It Did take a little time for someone to notice when we first got there, but the service was great! As you can see the food looks amazing and IS amazing! Both salsas were spicy but the green one was UNIQUE AND DELICIOUS! Definitely driving back out there again to try everything else out!

I ate here on a Monday afternoon after being there less than 3 years ago. Definitely a different experience then before. From the moment we walked in the door the girl came out from the back agitated after we said we were going to stay and eat. Chips and salsa were served in a to go bag But they were the only part of the meal that was tasty. Service was horrible, (same girl) never came to our table to ask if we were okay until we asked for the bill. Food was as if it was previously frozen, subpar. The bathrooms did not accommodate women toilet ring was laying up against the wall dirty.45 minutes prior to the sign saying it closes at 3:00 p.m., at 2:15 they were already turning off lights and locking doors. When she cleaned off the table next to us, she dragged a giant trash bin behind her. Super loud and annoying. Don't waste your time or money.

Google
Went to have tamales today. The lady in the front was so rude. The old lady in the front that greets people was unwelcoming and rude. The coffee was okay but the tamales are not worth it. Pura masa. Couldn’t find the meat anywhere Don’t recommend this place at all

Google
I went in to get a dozen of tamales first they didn’t have what I wanted Second, it took forever for them to give me my order nobody was there yet early in the morning The tamales were 95% masa very very little meat I paid $35 for a dozen of tamales more than like I paid just for masa never would come here again, looking for another place that has good tamales

Google
Food was okay. The tamale 🫔 was a little dry. But overall okay

Yelp
This place is a go to when you want the usual Mexican breakfast or maybe a tamale it's never a fail. You have to go early on weekends otherwise it gets full quickly, the staff is great and accommodating.

Yelp
We decided to purchase tamales from this place for our monthly plant meeting. When I called, I asked if they had any sides for the tamales and was told they could do a charola (pan) of rice and beans. Upon arriving, it turned out to be cups, not pans. I had also asked for salsa after noticing they didn't add any and was told I had to purchase it even though we spent over $200 on food already. Why nickel and dime salsa when yall would have gave it to us free if we ate at your establishment and already spent a reasonable amount of money. Perdieron un cliente por gandallas. It was also disappointing to find that the cheese tamales had very little cheese and the meat ones had the meat halfway down the tamales and empty on the top half. I will say the tamales were tasty but what a rip off when it's more masa than protein or cheese.

Yelp
Best place to have Menudo that's for sure the servers are awesome hands down. I will bring my family here.

Susie R.

Yelp
Our first time here and it was delicious including there chips and salsa. Reason I only gave 4 stars the tamales had perfect texture or moist but a bit salty. But over all I will return to this place as well recommend

Yelp
Food, service, and price were all great. Stopped in with my husband for breakfast and took a couple of tamales to go. I am picky about tamales and theirs were very good. I can't wait to go back and try their lunch entrees and of course, more tamales.

Yelp
Very good food and nice staff! There's a nice patio to sit outside when it's not too hot.

Yelp
Uff sin duda los mejores tamales de dulce que he probado en Arizona, el servicio es excelente al igual que la comida Gracias por recordarme a mi natal Ciudad de México con estos tamales de fresa
google avatar

Yelp
If the name of the restaurant is Tamales Guadalajara, I sugest you have tamales while your doors are open! First time at this place! and we get there around 2pm, and our waitress tells us there is no more tamales, and that we should get there early because they run out early all the time WTF. They only open from 7am to 3pm Monday to Sunday, and if you have a normal 8 to 5 job! you won't get there early enogh ever during the week to get these elusive tamales. We had to settle with regular food and that was not that great! Very disappointed and will never go back!!

Yelp
Bomb ass food and currently devouring it all rn IAHHHH. This is something you can definitely eat all day.

Eric V.

Yelp
My family & I have been going to this Mexican establishment for many years. On average about 2-3 times per year. The salsa verde used here is a bit hot for the less heat tolerant folks but is perfect to me. We decided to bring the queso fresco and crema from our home because that is what we add when we make chilaquiles. IMO, it takes them from a 95% to an absolute 100% perfection. Highly recommend this place. Nice staff everytime we go. You don't have to dress up all nice to feel comfortable here either. Feels like you are going to your Abuelita's home back on the rancho in the countryside. Well, that is my experience.

Yelp
Delicious as always, love the soups here. Service was fast and attentive. Best chips and the salsa is great as well. Highly recommend

Yelp
Greetings Arizona! -- this review is solely on the pollo verde tamales. The masa was very moist. 2 out of the 3 tamales a were very fresh. Paired with red salsa and chips... this was one of the best red salsa I've had in Arizona (just the right amount of kick-- a great mild salsa) This tamale is masa heavy and the filing is pretty light compared to the amount of masa. For 3 tamales came out to a whopping $9.00 after tax, which I believe is a good deal just for the simple fact the tamale was literally almost the size of a brick. The only suggestion I would have is to make the filling more heavier and the masa JUST A BIT lighter. -- I wish I took photos but I was so hungry, I scarfed them down. But the taste was fabulous and real deal Guadalajara. I just wished there was more filling inside it was so delicious!

Susie O.

Yelp
I got tamales there today and they were dry as can be the meat was dry to much masa . I got one ofeverything. It was so disgusting. Food there is good what up the tamale's
google avatar

Jose B.

Yelp
The best Mexican food in Tolleson Arizona, tasty and welled seasoned, recommend the beef red chili. With rice and beans
google avatar

Lionel V.

Yelp
In our quest to find great Mexican food we stopped here and found it. I had the Machaca and eggs plate. The meat was very tender and flavorful and the eggs not too dry. The beans were fantastic, just how I like them and the rice good as well. My wife had the Cocido and she said it's authenticity perfect, home made with fresh ingredients and she fell in love with it. The servers were very kind and respectful as if it were their own restaurant. Very clean place and I will tell you that as of now, it's our "Go To" place for Mexican food. Will try other dishes another day but for now I am extremely happy we found this place.

Yelp
El servicio es bueno y la comida muy buena El ambiente es muy tranquilo y se disfruta mucho la comida

Yelp
There's no reason why this restaurant shouldn't have a 5 star rating all around. The staff is kind and quick. The ambience is soothing and traditional- a real Mexican restaurant. The food is amazing, you can't go wrong with red chilaquiles, tamales and some menudo on a chilly Sunday morning. This place is one of my favorite-family friendly restaurants. They immediately ask if we want a high chair and advised us where to sit so the air conditioning wouldn't hit our baby directly. If you know, you know. The women who come around with the food , coffee and care are so warm- they remind me of what it's like to be cared by a traditional Hispanic family. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who welcomes that nostalgic feeling.

Yelp
Man this place did not live up to its reviews. My wife got the machaca plate and left half the plate. It was terrible. I got the chicken chimichanga plate and it tasted like a frozen burrito made a week ago. It was not fresh tasting. I took two bits with my fork and left it. Got a pork tamale to try since it's in the name. No flavor and very little meat. Took two bites n left it also. Nice lady asked we needed boxes I told her no. My son wet burrito was the only freshly made thing we got. Paid almost $50 bucks for nothing. Went down the road n got a torta to eat.
google avatar

Edwin Siercke S.

Yelp
Salsa with chips is good. Salsa is nice and spicy. I come from LA where a large bowl of menudo is much larger than this but its ok. Food was great and the staff is very attentive

Jesus C.

Yelp
Been coming here for breakfast since my first baby was born and now she's 18 and I will still continue to come, the red chilaquiles are to ME by far the best I've had and I've tried a lot of other place and they don't compare
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Was our first time here and let me tell you we had a great experience! From the friendliness of the staff to the freshness of the food. We had the menudo, pozole and a tamale. Everything was spot on with taste although the tamale did have more masa than I'm used of. Other than that we had a wonderful experience. I'd highly recommend you give this place a try.
google avatar

Gina A.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite spots in Az! Great service, friendly family owners. We have tried almost everything on the menu but my personal favorites are the number 12 wet burrito with Aupastor and green sauce. Any of the soups are great, the rice and beans and chips and salsas are so good too! You really can't go wrong with any choice here if you love authentic Mexican food. You won't be disappointed.

Alexia N.

Yelp
We decided to try this place out again after 2-3 years of not eating here. I got the cocido which was very ,very bland the meat tasted like it wasn't seasoned at all. It was like eating meat soaked in water. My mom got the machaca and eggs, she did not like it and asked for a side of butter and chili to try to eat it and our server never brought it. Finally, another server came around and she asked for it and got it. By the time she came back my moms food was cold. The food was inedible to her, sadly. Lastly, the service was horrible. The young lady we got was very rude and when it came down to paying I had trouble getting my tap pay to work. She grabbed the card from my hand and when she was done just tossed it on the counter annoyed. Overall food and service was poor.

Kris O.

Yelp
I don't want to be negative on a place, we were reading reviews on the tamales they sell here, that they were not good due to how little they fill them but we decided to try them ourselves, you know give them benefit of the doubt. MAN! that was a mistake! we should have listened to the reviews that were on here, my wife ordered two cheese jalapeño tamales 95% of the tamales was all masa! If you're looking for tamales DO NOT come here and look else where. Here's the picture for proof
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
This was tough. I had hoped for better. My family is from Baja and liked the menudo but said the pozole fell short on flavor. They do have 2 sizes for the bowl so that's nice. Chilaquiles was okay. The flavor was average and not like the food that takes to Mexico in your mind. The Pastor Torta had good flavor but for $9 it was the smallest Torta I have ever had. It come with nothing but jarred jalapenos on the side. Fell short. I sure was hoping for better.
google avatar

Jesse Valerie A.

Yelp
Love this place! Best chilaquilas both the red and green are delicious. everything is really fast and the staff is so nice. This is our family's go to.
google avatar

Bj K.

Yelp
With the passing of older generations the art of making tamales has faded away in my family and no one wants to do the work. Why when you have such a great product waiting for you to purchase? For the past five years we've been getting our Christmas and New Years tamales from this wonderful shop in Tolleson AZ. Although I'm not opposed to someone's nana teaching me how to make them..hint hint
google avatar

Lili W.

Yelp
Had the chicken burrito with rice and beans also the cheese tamales with rice and beans Both dishes were served with chips and a side mini salad. For me it's all about the rice and beans ....id you mess that up then it's all done....here what you got was authentic well home made cooked food so if you missing your abuelitas rice and beans come in here and get your fix ....you won't be disappointed

Louis G.

Yelp
Two for two! I stopped by last Sunday after church for breakfast. I ordered eggs, bacon and papas. It was so flavorful and delicious. This morning my wife and I wanted to spend a nice morning together over breakfast so I wanted to take her to Tamales Guadalajara. I ordered red menudo and my wife ordered the green chilaquiles with scrambled eggs. Let me tell you the food came out fresh & hot, the coffee was hot, the bottled coke was frosted cold. Our meal was perfect. My wife enjoyed her chilaquiles and said it was the best! My menudo was delicious. I highly recommend Tamales Guadalajara for a home made Mexican breakfast.. The service was very good..

Alex M.

Yelp

google avatar

Victor L.

Yelp
Tamales are not worth going they pretty much give you all masa tamales no meat or cheat
google avatar

Miguel M.

Yelp
My grandma and I come here from time to time and it's never disappointed. It is definitely a good spot to enjoy some Mexican food. The pozole is really good, and the horchata is as well. I give this place a five star. I recommend this place.
google avatar

Angel R.

Yelp
I love this local Mexican restaurant in Tolleson, AZ. You'll miss it if you blink but if you do pass by, make sure to stop in. I ordered the red chilaquiles and they were so good. I got my mom a to go order of the chilaquiles also and she enjoyed them as well. I would definitely come back! Friendly service and great food.
google avatar

Roberto U.

Yelp
Food is always delicious, let me get that straight. however- trying to place an order over the phone is terrible. Leaving this review in hopes that they can get with the times and offer online or over the phone ordering to accommodate pick up orders efficiently in todays world.
google avatar

Eddie M.

Yelp
to be safe I ordered somthing that everyone knows how to make in any Guadalajara restaurant. or even a fast food Mexican restaurant. cocido beef small $7.45 was so small a 10year old will be happy with. and super nachos $9.99 nothing SUPER ABOUT IT. AT LEAST THEY HAVE FREE PARKING... I think we wont be back soon. chip and salsa ok.
google avatar

Virginia G.

Yelp
We ordered breakfast and the chilaquiles had lots of authentic flavor. Salsa was tasty. You won't be disappointed
google avatar

Maira S.

Yelp
Delicious flavors. Try the chilaquiles rojos they will not disappoint. Full of authentic-home cooked spices.

Doree B.

Yelp
The tamales is not good, this tamales is only masa and pay a lot money for 12.I don't buy tamales anymore end this restaurant.
google avatar

Adilene R.

Yelp
I placed an order from this place for beef and cheese tamales. There is not enough cheese or beef in the tamales only masa. Which isn't what I was looking for in a tamal. The overall taste was okay. I do not believe I will be coming back for tamales but I will definitely try other menu items.

Kendall M.

Yelp
Their breakfast burrito is delicious. The burrito was not greasy and the salsa was on point! Friendly staff and clean location. Looking forward to going back soon.

Diana C.

Yelp
The chilaquiles are the best! And their champurrado was amazing as well 10/10 recommend coming here for breakfast!
google avatar

Jesse C.

google avatar

Kari A.

Yelp
Really great service. If you want delicious Mexican food with that welcoming hospitality please give them a shot. We had the pozole and the albóndiga soup both very delicious!
google avatar

Sasha E.

Yelp
Best place for breakfast burritos! Try the egg, potato, bacon and cheese burrito. Tastes like my Tia made it, if I had a Tia! But you get the point, their food is fresh and homemade, just like their salsas. I ordered to go and in no time my order was ready! Walking into this establishment sets off a vibe of authenticity. The ladies in the kitchen were friendly and I felt like I was walking into my best friends families home. It's a nice cozy restaurant nestled in old town Tolleson. Aside from the breakfast burritos, the other food I ordered was delicious too! The chiliquiles, the beans and rice, all was superb! Can't wait to comeback again!
google avatar

Travis M.

Yelp
This place was the bomb! I don't remember if I got the huevos rancheros or the migas but it was spicy, filling and overall fantastic
google avatar

Ron R.

Yelp
Do not eat hear. I'm a New Mexican and it was nothing but tortilla!!! And NO flavor! Steer clear of this place! I rather drive back to New Mexico, and or Mexico...... :-(

cynthia a.

Yelp
Stop for breakfast on our way home from Tucson to LA. Picked this location based on the reviews and because it was open at 7am. I got the sopa de Albóndigas, my husband the pozole and the kids quesadilla de carne asada. We were pleasantly surprised how tasty everything was. The sopa broth had great taste and according to hubby, the pozole was on point.
