We were seated in the ancient turkey bath room, a very unique area of the restaurant. The food was great, and so was the atmosphere. The service was a bit spotty, finding it hard to get our waiter attention, but the room was quite full so I fell like taking only one star off. All in all a great experience and for a very reasonable price.

DELICIOUS food. We loved the Greek salad, bean dip, cheese and eggplant dish! They also had a great beer selection. Our waiter was so helpful and friendly. We loved sitting outside !

We came to Chania excited to explore its reputation for authentic and high-quality food. Unfortunately, this restaurant was a huge letdown and left us feeling frustrated and disappointed. When we arrived without a reservation (as many tourists do), the waiter reluctantly seated me and my two sons at an outside table. He made a remark suggesting we were lucky to be accommodated — even though there were clearly many empty tables. The setting itself was charming and romantic, which initially gave us hope. The menu was difficult to understand, and the waiter offered no assistance or recommendations. My youngest ordered spaghetti Napolitana, playing it safe. My other son ended up with a vegetarian baked tart — though the description was unclear — and I chose the octopus, curious to try something local. When the food arrived, the presentation was shockingly poor. The spaghetti was just plain pasta with tomato sauce — something a child could have cooked better. The vegetarian tart was simply a block on a plate, with no garnish or care. My octopus came with nothing but a pile of fries and looked completely unappetizing. No creativity, no flavor — just bland and basic. It felt like no effort was made at all. The service didn’t improve. When I asked for the bill, the waiter tossed the receipt on the table without a word and walked away. I asked twice to pay by card, but no one returned. We ended up wasting precious time just trying to pay, eventually going to the counter ourselves. The staff seemed annoyed we paid by card, and despite everything, they still expected a tip. We paid over €40 for this disappointing experience. For a place in such a beautiful town known for good food, this was a complete waste of time and money. I genuinely felt robbed — poor food, poor service, and absolutely not worth it. I do not recommend this place.

What an experience. By far, It has been the best one in Crete until now. Enjoy the slow cooked traditional dishes. We orthe tender goat dish which was tender as custard. The meat with aubergine was the best option in terms of flavor. Salad is fresh and delicious. Appetizers like grilled vegetables were breathtaking, but vine filled leafs were okay. The waiter was very patient and welcoming as we asked him plenty of questions, and he provided perfect recommendations. Strongly recommended.

The food is exceptional. I’ve been thinking about it for a year and now that I’ve been again, doesn’t disappoint. I recommend the tomato patties, dolmathakia, and the rabbit. All their dishes are perfectly flavoured and cooked. The vibe of the restaurant is also very aesthetic. The location is kind of hidden between buildings but definitely worth a visit.

We had a fantastic experience dining at Tamam during our trip. The service was outstanding — friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The food was absolutely incredible, with fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, and beautifully prepared dishes that truly showcased the best of Greek cuisine. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and lively, making it a perfect spot whether you’re out for a casual meal or something special. One of the highlights was how dog-friendly the restaurant was — they welcomed our furry friend with open arms, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, everything from the setting to the service to the food exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Food was very good, but I don’t think it was worth the money. I ate better for less money in Chania. Lamb chops were delicious but make sure to order some other positions from the menu as portion is quite small. I Reserved a table online as I read it is quite popular place. There were only 2 tables available for 5pm a bit early but I really wanted to try it. When we made it to the Restaurant I was surprised to see many tables were available.

Had a lovely lunch with my family we all tried lovely and different food options ranging from squids, goat and calamari and all food options were excellent. Washed down with nice beers and a delicious house white I totally recommend lunch here. The restaurant is located just behind the touristy port location surrounded by cool art and craft shops that are worth a view in their own right. A lovely setting to eat in the street and watch the world go by.
