Just visited Tamarind in Nyack for the first time and had a fantastic experience! A staff member mentioned they just opened about three weeks ago, so this place is brand new—and you can tell. The decor is absolutely gorgeous; it’s modern, luxurious, and creates a really great atmosphere for dinner. The food was great, we mainly had only vegetarian small plates, but will plan to come back to taste the main course. Definitely a high-quality spot that Nyack needed. Highly recommend checking them out!

Wow, this place is amazing!! The food is incredible and the service was so great. Also the drinks! I had the bourbon drink with the bruleed pineapple and my wife had a mocktail, both were delicious. For entree we had the Chilean sea bass dish (meen moilee) and the shrimp Malai curry. Really high quality food. We will be back! Appetizers were delicious too!

Best Indian food I’ve had in Rockland county! I took my dad here recently for lunch, as we were so impressed with the new interior space, service and every dish we had from appetizers to dessert. The Rogan Josh was phenomenal, the samosas were cooked perfectly, and they even included a carrot dessert dish on the house that blew us away. My father isn’t a huge fan of very spicy food, but the waiter was great at helping him choose an entree that he loved & he is excited to come back again. We ate everything so fast, that I don’t even have enough pictures to include for this review! Our waitress Ankita was also very sweet, and stayed and chatted with us for a bit after our meal.

Tamarind is a novel and excellent eatery! In a location of various other restaurants , it has certainly resurrected into a fun interesting space. GREAT NEWS they are initiating an affordable lunch menu soon 🔜, The naan is delicious, we tried spicy cauliflower, lamb , and a vegetarian mushroom dish with fluffy basmati rice. Ankita was our wonderful server . The restaurant is spacious , the mood music great I hear the cocktails are amazing ! I’ll try next time ‼️

Google
Amazing experience at this newly opened Indian restaurant. Despite being busy and without reservation we were seated without a wait. We started with some cocktails; The Imalee & Passion Pearl. For the apps we had the Sakargandi chaat and the tandoori jinga and both were delicious. For the mains we tried the Rogan Josh, Paneer makhani and lachha paratha with raita. The desserts were so good; we tried Pistachio kulfi, gulab jamun with rabri and the brownie with vanilla icecream. Our waitress Ankita was so pleasant, knowledgeable, and attentive! Service was amazing. The ambience needs some background indian techno music to make it more lively.

Google
We ordered vegetarian food, and it was absolutely delicious. If you prefer authentic Indian spiciness, order the spicy level. If you prefer a milder taste with a hint of sweetness, go for the medium level.

Google
We had an outstanding dining experience at Tamarind in Nyack, NY. The food was absolutely exceptional — every dish was bursting with authentic Indian flavors, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. It’s rare to find cuisine that’s both comforting and elevated at the same time, but Tamarind delivers just that. The staff was warm and attentive, and Ashish, the owner, personally checked on our table several times to ensure everything was perfect. Without a doubt, one of the best Indian dining experiences in Rockland County.

Yelp
So awesome to finally see a new restaurant in this space! We got takeout over the weekend and I was looking forward to picking it up -- when I stepped in, I had wished we had eaten out instead! The renovations inside were gorgeous, and the energy/vibe was fantastic. It was a Saturday night and I was happy to see the place was hopping. The open kitchen adds to the ambiance, and the decor and place settings are modern and sleek. It's a huge dining space, with lots of room for different sized parties and lots of different nooks and sections to be seated in so you won't feel like you're on top of the next table. The food lived up to that first impression! We got two different curries and they were both rich and flavorful with bold spice but not overpowering with heat. The tandoori chicken was delicious, smoky and juicy and perfectly cooked. The samosas were crispy and tender (sometimes samosas can be oily and chewy, but these were just right). The only item that was so-so was the naan... ours was a little over done and hard to chew. I would've preferred it a little fluffier, I don't know if it was cooked too long or if that's just the style they're making it. But really it was fine, I still ate all of it and would get it again (maybe butter or garlic next time instead of plain) We're looking forward to our next order! Or maybe we'll come in and eat in the restaurant -- either way, it's a fantastic addition to the nyack restaurant scene!

Yelp
New restaurant in Nyack a lot of Buzz seems to be surrounding it. We went and spent too much money, but the beer and food were great shrimp. Curry was a stand out even the non-and culture bread at the beginning were pretty great. Excellent server also. Recommended, but would suggest going at an off hour to beat the crowds.

Yelp
Great good, service and music at Tamarind. We loved the cauliflower dish and chicken kebabs - definitely ask for some heat because they bring it! Wine selection is good with a great price point. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
REALLY good food!! Very flavorful and perfect spice (read: was not too spicy!) offers many meal options and we loved them all. Lamb dish (on bone) was very tender & flavorful , saag paneer was delicious.. forget the name - but it was paneer tika masala was exquisite!! Decor is very cozy and welcoming. Service also A+..very professional. I shared it was my birthday and I was surprised with a slice of the pistachio cake- which I HIGHLY recommend. Very thoughtful! Cocktails and mocktails were delicious. We will be back again and again! Definitely recommend Tamarind!! (Oh and garlic naan- sooo good and fresh!!)

Yelp
Big restaurant, pretty empty but we ate early dinner. Food was good. service was good though server did get confused with our wine orders.

Yelp
The ambiance was pleasant, and I really liked the decor. They've made quite a few changes from the previous restaurant. With the open floor plan, the noise carried across the room, which was expected. Service was a little slow, but understandable since they're short-staffed and just opened a week ago--we didn't mind the wait. The food and drinks were unique, offering northern cuisine with a twist. We enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Yelp
Ambience is really nice. It has a huge space and nicely decorated. Clean and comfortable space.

Yelp
This is a beautiful and clean place with really flavorful food! Everything tasted different and fresh, staff were very helpful and open to making a change to a drink I wanted to order. Dessert reminded me of home. I'll definitely be going back there!

Yelp
Tamarind in Nyack exceeded every expectation. I came in curious after hearing buzz around town, and left genuinely impressed. I ordered the Rogani Nalli (lamb shank) and it was outstanding -- fall-off-the-bone tender, rich with slow-braised depth, and layered with flavor from the perfectly spiced gravy. The portion was generous without being overwhelming, and the plating had that elevated feel you don't always find in traditional Indian spots. This isn't just comfort food -- it's elevated, elegant, and still deeply satisfying. To drink, I tried their signature colada, which was bright, tropical, and beautifully balanced -- not overly sweet, and paired surprisingly well with the richness of the lamb. The attention to cocktail craft here is no afterthought; it's clearly part of the overall experience. Service was warm, professional, and never intrusive. The space itself is modern and inviting, with just enough intimacy for a dinner you'll remember. Didn't get to dessert this time, but I'll be back for sure. Tamarind is a welcome addition to Nyack's food scene -- upscale but unpretentious, bold but refined. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Edit: I enjoyed the food served. I am allergic to gluten and diary, so their Vegan options were delicious! I enojyed the Shakarkandi Chaat, Martban Ke Choley alongside with their Missi Roti and Chutney assortment. The dishes were filling, beautifully designed, and the spices were aromatic. The service was accommodating, and the ambiance was pleasant. They recently opened, I hope to see more art and effects in the future. My only issue is before I enter, up above the door art that has swatstika's on it. While I understand they didn't originate in Germany, the symbol is tainted and I can only think of Nazis when I see it. I humbly request the owners to take it down or replace the entrance with something else.

Yelp
Excellent service. The restaurant was clean, well lit, and spacious. I ordered a dal salad, which I really wasn't a fan of. The service noticed I didn't like it and offered to replace it with something else. I insisted no but they were really nice about it. I ended up replacing it with potato chaat which was a perfect mixture of savory, tangy, and sweet. What I really loved was the meen moilee, a coconut curry with fish. The curry was extremely flavorful, buttery, and creamy. The paratha also was delicious. Perfectly cooked, flaky, buttery. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Like India, this place is rich with wonderful contradictions. The place is huge. the service warm and personable. The lighting is soft, yet the menu is easy to read. which is a good thing because it offers a wide and eclectic array of dishes unlike any other Indian place i've eaten in. Our friendly and patient waiter walked us through the menu that included dishes from Northern Indian and provide options in other than the familiar kormas and curries. Everything we had was beautifully plated and well timed. We started wth the Shakarkandi Chaat small plate with sweet and savory sweet potato, tamarind, mint, ginger, dates and cilantro. it was rich, layered and luscious. we followed it with the coconut shrimp which awesome and thenctwo unusual tandoori dishes lamb chops and believe it or not spinach. Both were fantastic. By the end of the meal, we decided to pass on desert but our now friend and waiter brought out what he called a carrot pudding - on the house. It was not an American style pudding. It was like a moist and dense cake but with carrots and beet roots that was out of this world. We begged him to change the name to Garden Delight. so if that is on the menu, order it.

Yelp
The food, decor, and vibe are all on point. This has to be the best restaurant in rockland. I'll definitely make this the go to for when I'm visiting my folks. Lagan Ki Boti, butter chicken, cheese poppers, and paneer ke sole were real standouts among everything else we got. Butter naan and all the breads were outstanding as well. Honestly really hard to find a place where everything you eat is good but this is it. Ed Sheeran playlist while we were there was the perfect pair to the upbeat and lively vibe of this place. The team is welcoming and makes you feel at home. What more could you want in your new favorite local spot. Go out and make a reservation. They book up.

Yelp
Friendly staff and ambient interiors. The food was flavorful. The lamb was tender and juicy. Dal makhani is my favorite here. They give attention to detail for every menu item.

Yelp
I've been there twice. I was really apprehensive considering the huge size of the space and the fact that Indian food is quite a niche taste in the US, although I adore it and cook Indian meals often. I really hate for a restaurant in Nyack to fail, but the food is awful. It has no discernible flavor. I honestly want to get into the kitchen and guide them. The papadams and pickle and chutneys are very good. The servers are lovely. The restaurant is lovely. It's with great distress that I write this review, but I have to be honest.

Yelp
Tried Tamarind Dat nite 9/27 for 1 st time. Disappointed with our experience. Thought menu was significantly overpriced. Food quality fair. Portions for price too small. Atmosphere awful. While only few other diners, noise level including music so loud could not have any conversation with my dining partner. Will stick with Mumbai Dreams for Nyack area gourmet Indian Cuisine. Would not return to Tamarind.

Yelp
WOW!! This place exceeded my wildest expectations. Each dish was superb, small and large. Look out Rockland County, there's a new kid in town! We will be frequent guests at Tamarind in Nyack.
