La Guerrera’s Kitchen Is Bringing the Tamales Back at Its New Oakland Restaurant - Eater SF

Where do I start? Staff was warm and sat us down promptly. Menu was simple, decor had little touches that I enjoyed. My kid's got tacos and tamales. I got sopes and a beef strew . We ended up getting desert as well, even after everyone saying how full we were. Food was so good we had to see how the desert was and that was also a small menu. Really good, and if I find myself in Oakland again I'll have to stop here.

The food is great as always, but the waitress/hostess could have used an attitude adjustment. It all started by asking us if we had a reservation. We felt like we were a bother for the rest of the time we were there.

Today is my third day in Oakland and I was super excited to try this place, unfortunately they’re closed. :( Left five stars because of all the great things I heard about them.

It's a great place for happy hour with friends where you are going to get the traditional margaritas and tacos. service is good but anticipate away during the weekdays or people come here after work. There's only one bathroom stall so that can be a problem when the place gets packed. The food is decent and the happy hour Margarita is actually quite good.

Tamarindo has a very cool, trendy vibe. Menu is small but definitely not disappointing. We tried a few dishes.... everything was fresh and tasty. Plus the cocktails were made just right.

Food was good, I will give them that. Love a place with hand made tortillas. A well conceptualized menu.. Service however was very disjointed. The server messed up the order of service, forgot one dish and it took way too long to get seated and served. Not sure if I want to go back, but I may give them a try if service improves.
