Tamashi Donburi & Sushi

Got ubereats delivered just now. The rice in my poke bowl was cold (big clumps), the mango was frozen and the tiny piece of avocado that I paid $2.50 for was brown/rotten. There was also a piece of plastic in my miso soup….which was horrible. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place!

Very good little bowls! There's lots of options to choose from, and it looks pretty. The amount of fish in the Sake Don is pretty good for what you pay. Note that this place is inside a food court; if you're not digging the shared table scene, consider ordering to go.

First off it’s not a restaurant but an eatery with tons of students. Would have been 4 stars as, believe it or not, rolls were tasty and full of fish and little rice. Only problem was the additional plastic or fingernail found in my rolls! 🤢 and the kids behind the counter have no clue about what they sell and tell you ‘it’s going to be a long wait’ AFTER you pay!

Such a good sushi, this place is going to be so popular.

I love the gyudon bowls here. Extremely good.

Someone reviewed Gyudon was full of beef fat no real meat. Ugh...... That is not beef fat, it is thin sliced beef with a perfect combination of slim meat and fat. It is not a steak! Everything I ordered delivery from here was great. Gyudon, king dragon roll and sakedon, all had generous portion and very good taste. Would love to revisit!

Hadn't been to the Spot in awhile and was in Rockville for a court case on Friday. Happy to see a new restaurant opened! I got the sushi moriawase and was not disappointed! Fish was fresh, plenty of extras (avocado, the radish, ginger)! Bro had the katsudon & he really liked it! It smelled delish! I'll have to try that one next time!

Chicken Karage Curry Bowl & Unagi Donburi are both very good, and well-portioned. They are priced very well too at about $10 and $16 respectively, which is much lower than similar restaurants in the area. I find it lasts me two meals usually. Make sure to factor in a longer wait time (30-40 minutes) from time of order.

The food and a excellent and great value for the large portions. I had the beef donburi and the Katsu son on separate visits. The beef is sliced perfectly thin with just the right combination of fat and lean meat. The katsu don was perfectly cooked and truly represented the German influence of this dish. 4 stars because no place is perfect.

Definitely one of the better places at the Spot for food, since i was getting tired of everything else. Ordered the Chicken Karage curry bowl, Gyudon bowl, and seaweed salad. Curry had great flavor and both the chicken and beef were really good. The pickled vegetables were a nice combination and I'd return to try the Katsudon and sushi next time

Surprised to find that I'm the first one to review this place... not bad! I only ordered the ebi katsu curry with a pre-imagined flavor in mind and it's exactly what it taste like lol. Kind of taste like what "Donburi" offered if you went there before. The shrimp was a little over fried but acceptable. Waiting time is a little long but it's probably because I went not at noon hours and was too hungry waiting for food. Will come again and try other things.

Just ordered the 3 roll special and eel had barely no eel, paper thin slice and the spicy tuna roll was cut with a filler like breadcrumbs were added to the tuna. It was a disapointment. Excited to try this place but wont return. My husband liked the spider roll which is a good thing because he ordered 2 spicy tuna rolls with breadcrumbs.

California roll was good. Gyudon was a bowl of rice with beef fat on top. No actual meat. Just gross.

The Spot has been my favorite hangout place in Rockville, and Tamashi is a new store within the spot. The place has Sushi, and Donduri which is Japanese Rice Bowl. My favorite sushi roll on the menu is the King Dragon Roll, and the Katsudon Donburi with Curry. Today I came to get lunch and they did not disappoint me with their Donburi.

Had been wanting to try this place since I first saw that they were opening shop here. Was finally able to try it; the fish was kind of old but decent quality, there was very minimal avocado (~an eighth), rice was really dry. The main reason I'm only giving this place one star is because of the plastic I found in the bowl.

I ordered the gyudon and I loved it! The beef was very juicy and flavorful. I was actually debating of getting the curry katsudon or the gyudon but ended up getting the gyudon because it has been so long since the last time I had it...and I made the right choice! I would highly recommend to try out this new place at the Spot.

excellent sushi! reasonable sizes proportions with great service. i've tried almost everything and flavoring is on point. if you order two or more rolls which i usually get, it comes with either miso or a salad. but i always get miso soup, it's really good. also, the donburi dishes are really good as well. my personal favorite is gyudon donburi it's a japanese rice bowl with beef and onion and different radishes.

The food is great but the service is poor. I ordered kani salad and gyudon. I asked for filtered water but the lady gave me a half full cup of water. They didn't have ice so they told me to get it from Cheers cut. When I came back again to ask for more water she gave me less than half full cup of water!! (By the way, I have to share the water with my son) Is there a water shortage in this joint? Should have taken back my tip! FYI, there was an ongoing heatwave when we went there.
