Was in North Hollywood so decided to try a new to ramen spot. I live a good ramen, and the reviews were offer for starts, so in we went!
Started off with a drink order, just got a Chai Tea and it was ok, didn't really stand out one way or another. But we weren't there due to, we were there for ramen. We each order something different, the Tonkotsu Shio, black Tonkotsu and spicy Tonkotsu.
The Tonkotsu Shio uses a salt forged pork broth to go skiing with the usual ingredients with the noodles, seaweed, bamboo shoots, pork, egg, etc. Honestly, this broth was the least liked amongst our group. And the one who used it didn't even eat half of the bowl. She just didn't like it. The black Tonkotsu is designed with a black garlic oil. The garlic flavor does come through when mixed thoroughly, though it starts to max the goodies of everything else in the bowl. The spicy Tonkotsu was the best of the bunch, thought the broth could use a little extra love. But, with the spiciness, and the biggest which had a little chew to them, it wasn't bad.
Overall, as a group, we felt there was a lot more to be desired here that we didn't get in our dishes, especially with the variety of ramen places around Los Angeles. I'd say, if you're in North Hollywood, and absolutely NEED rather immediately, then get the Spicy Tonkotsu, but, overall, you can find better ramen elsewhere
