Had dinner with my family on a weekday and they were packed. No wonder why, very reasonable price for tasty food. The servers were all very nice and pleasant even of they're busy. Also if you pay cash, they will give 8% discount. This place is highly recommended. 👍👍

I visited this restaurant today! It was a solo date, so I only ordered one thing, the champon ramen, which was like a seafood ramen. I must say that I really liked the broth, so flavorful and tasty ramen. My waitresses were absolutely courteous and professional. The place is clean with great music in the background, which is an absolute plus for me when I go out to eat by myself. I can’t wait to go back there with some friends. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a ramen spot in forest hill area, go here instead of KYURAMEN. Lastly, great portion and affordable!

I was told I would be taken to a Ramen noodles and other delicious Japanese bites restaurant. We told a walk to Austin Street and there it was. The space is intimate and has traditional decoration. My sons said little compared to the deliciousness of the plates we ordered. The customer service is superb and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The plates are beautifully presented and the taste is oh so good.

So I came in to dine in and i ordered the veggie champon. I have been coming to this place for about 4 times and I get the same thing as always . But this time it tasted terrible it taste burnt, when i brought the attention to the waiter & waitress they told me it’s just how it’s made and the main chief found nothing wrong with it. When i explained to them that me and the chief tastebuds are very different they still told me even if they remake it would be the same. when i tried telling them that i have had this so many times it has never tasted like This , I have a terrible stomachache and have been throwing & they still didn’t accommodate I will not recommend this place to no one.

Invite my friend and 3 kids for dinner yesterday coming from all the way from Manhattan after work bc I know kids love Ramen and we will participate in another art class right after that around this neighborhood. Due to special events police blocking the neighborhood which makes us spending more time for parking. We are a little bit rush and I understand the business are a little busy. I told the girl we are rushing for the art class. We can’t wait for 20 mins to address a table so we separate to 2 tables as my request. Which makes me unhappy is the girl who direct me to the seat let me feel like I am a trouble customer with that face after I kindly asked if possible kids could move next to us since there is more space maybe fits? But unfortunately not which I respect it. We ordered Pork Bun Belly, Ebi Patato and Takoyaki as appetizer also Chasyu Ramen and Tamashii Ramen.I don’t know how it tastes like.. that’s what kids wants. They look very enjoyable. I got Tamashii Ramen which I’m very satisfied, it’s tasty and rich. Pork Bun is great too! With veggies on it makes it yummy. For my friend’s Veggie it looks very light. I truly appreciate those 2 girls who adjusted kids to a better seats later on when they have available seats. They are taking good care of them. Makes me feel valued the visit. Thank you!

I recently visited Tamashii Ramen in Forest Hills, Queens, and the food was amazing. The ramen had rich, flavorful broth, and the ingredients were fresh and high-quality. I've been coming here since they opened the Forest Hills location. Before that, I discovered Tamashii Ramen in Astoria, I was thrilled to know my favorite ramen spot was in my neighborhood. This is my go-to spot, I come here once a week, especially in the winter. The prices are super reasonable, and the portions are filling. My personal favorite is the Chasyu ramen. You get an extra pork slice ;) and definitely try their Kani salad (with some chili paste on the side). I love that the staff here has always been very accommodating and attentive, and even when they're busy, it's not a long wait. I come here so often they already know what I order lol I love it :) This is my forever favorite ramen spot ♡

While I didn't get to experience the dine-in atmosphere, Tamashii Ramen's takeout option was a comforting choice on a rainy day. The restaurant's cozy, compact space gives it a welcoming vibe. Unfortunately, the lack of pork-free ramen options limited my choices, but the Veggie Miso Ramen with added chicken was a satisfying bowl. The broth was flavorful and comforting. I ordered delivery from here. I got the Kara Veggie Miso Ramen with added tamago. The ramen was tasty, but only subtly spicy. The ingredients were fresh, particularly the crunchy broccoli. I would've appreciated a slightly larger portion of noodles. I also got an edamame appetizer, which was perfectly prepared.

It truly pains me to write this, as I've been a longtime fan of Tamashii's Astoria location. After a 30-minute wait (which we didn't mind since it's small and popular), things went downhill fast. A couple seated after us ordered, ate, and almost finished their meal before we even got water - 15-20 minutes of being completely ignored. When we flagged a different waiter, our server returned with an annoyed attitude and barely engaged with us after that. No check-ins, no hospitality. We were so uncomfortable, we didn't dare ask for anything else. There were 3 servers on the floor which makes it hard for us to excuse the poor service we received. The food was still great, but service was a solid 1 star. We tipped 18% out of courtesy, but they seriously need to step up their game. I'll be going back to the Astoria location. #ServiceMatters

We've been customers from YEARSSSSS , we've always love to come here, food's incredible love the place and everything, but IF someone from your party have A FOOD allergy then this isn't the right place to go. My little sister has shellfish allergy, last month we came to this place, we told our waitress about my sister's allergies. She was eating but after, she started developing rash on her neck, her doctor told her not to eat in places where the serve shellfish as we don't know how properly the clean or cooked the food... we decided to eat again in this place but we ordered her some Shake shack, as we were eating, another waitress came to us, really upset telling us that we were not allow to bring outside food, as I was apologizing and trying to explaining why we did it, she was consistently repeating the same thing. Not did only she added the tip without asking us, she said she added because one from our party didn't eat in the restaurant, she mentioned this wasn't a food court to bring food from other places, or that we were not obligated to come and eat at the restaurant, I know we aren't obligated to go! but we like the food, we are customers from 4 or more years ago. She warned us that if we ever bring food from outside she will denied us the right to eat. I work at food service and if one customer were to have the same of different problem I wouldn't mind him/her eating from other place, than to see them killing themselves because I was forcing them to eat what we serve. Every time we come to this place my dad spends $100 or more without including the rest of my family. Such a shame.

This has been my go to place for ramen for some time now. I always order Tantanmen ramen, mild spice, extra broccoli and chicken instead of ground pork. I have noticed the chicken is on the harder side so will most likely stop ordering it. Soup is always on point. Even though it's mild spice it's still spicy to me. Can't go wrong.

I went with a party of 5 we shared calamari, beef and shiitake and, the Service is fast and reliable. The ambiance is perfect for a cozy rainy day, it's snug and good for a cheap homey filling meal!

I came here on a Saturday night with a party of 2 and we were seated pretty quickly. We ordered the: - Tamashii Ramen: 4/5 The broth was flavorful and light, and chashu was tender. The portion of chashu was a little smaller than I would've expected - it came with two small pieces but they were pretty thick cut - Miso Ramen: 3/5 The broth was rich and flavorful, and noodles were perfectly chewy. - Ika Karaage: 4/5 the squid was light and crispy and tasted great with the sauce. Overall, this is a great neighborhood ramen restaurant! The food was delicious and service was fast. I would definitely come back!

Very cute restaurant interior and service is pretty quick here. I was pretty excited for the food because I've heard good things but everything was mediocre. Takoyaki, ramen, and the tsukemen were all just okay - ramen broth seemed a little watery but the pork was decent. The beef and shiitake dish was pretty good though, very flavorful.

An awesome ramen going in Forest Hills. 100% better than kyuramen if you can get a spot. The Tako Wasabi was the real stuff and hits hard with a great Wasabi kick. You can taste that it isn't subpar quality. The takoyaki was delicious. My friends got the ramen which was super satisfying. My katsu don was also tasty, although the cutlet felt a tad bit soggy. For the amount of your Japanese staples and the very fresh cook on these dishes, I highly recommend tamashii red. It's popular for a reason so be ready to wait if you come at a busy time. I still highly recommend it - it feels like authentic tasty local Japanese food.

Excellent authentic Ramen place. Hearty delicious meal. My last 2 visits I enjoyed Chasyu Ramen. Perfection. Service great, prices fair. Big discount for cash (i.e. big penalty for cards).

There were plenty of seats, and the service was quick and friendly. The restaurant had a nice, cozy vibe. The karaage was probably second to the karaage from this bar I've went to a few times in Japan, and I'm someone who orders karaage whenever I see it on the menu. So this means the karaage is good, especially when paired with the two sauces it came with! The side salad is also a good complement if you drizzle it with lemon juice. The takoyaki is good as well. However, I'm not someone who frequently eats takoyaki, so I'm not the best judge here. The ramen noodles were chewy, but the broth and the noodles weren't standout. The toppings were super generous though and the portion was huge, especially for ramen under $16. I'm typically someone who gets a side order of extra noodles with ramen, so the fact that I didn't clear the bowl is kind of amazing.

If you're a ramen enthusiast, you've got to try this place! I stumbled upon it recently and I'm so glad I did. The ramen here is absolutely fantastic--rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and generous portions of toppings. The ambiance is cozy, like really cozy (can feel crammed) and the service is friendly. Definitely worth a try!

Was in the area and thought I'd stop by for some ramen. Absolutely loved the veggie Champon seafood ramen. It is a spicy veggie broth with lots and lots of seafood. I mean it has two kinds of shrimp, octopus, mussels, squid and lots of veggies. It was phenomenal on this cold day and the broth was really flavorful. Surprisingly the veggie broth has even more flavor than the last broth I chose, it deserves a second mention. You really won't be disappointed, but keep in mind this is their spiciest broth option. Be ready with extra napkins. Service was fantastic, quickly seated, appetizer came quick and as I was 3/4 of the way done with the 3 shrimp tempura, out came the ramen in a nice large bowl. Beautiful red broth and so fragrant with seafood. It was love at first bite. The shrimp tempura was nice and crispy and very hot. Perfectly fresh and well prepared. The ramen shop definitely has a crowd on a cold day but was able to seat me fairly quickly. Nothing like great service and excellent food. Happy yelping!

Allow me to elaborate my previous review. It was a shame that I had to compare the ramen served here to Shin ramen, a more common known Korean brand to the fellow consumers. Perhaps a Japanese one instead like the instant Ichiran one in my pantry that was stocked from my recent trip to Japan. Of course one does not need to go to Japan to know the standard of a decent bowl of ramen because nyc has many decent ramen shops. I am also familiar of the long hours of slow simmering involved when it comes to making japanese ramen as it is a stable home cooked meal in my kitchen, oh and our noodles are made fresh as well. Regardless, the ramen bowl I was served at this establishment was no where close to the long hours rich broth that was described in the owner's reply. Anyways, both the ramen and okonomiyaki were far from my humble standards. Dined here once and it was enough. Old review: Nah guys, this ain't it. It's sub mid. Shin ramen is better than this. Watered down broth, braised chasiu yes but still, not enough to make the bowl. Okonomiyaki? Nah. Where's the cabbage??

The restaurant is relatively small so it helps to make a reservation. I went on a Thursday night and I had to wait about 15 minutes. The karrage bowl is filling and quite affordable. My friend and I both got dishes and one drink each and it came out to $25 (not including tax). Service was good, very standard. No complaints.

The Okonomiyaki was really good and the perfect amount of crispiness. There were also whole pieces of shrimp which made it a little easier to it than if it were completely ground up. I've had better Oyako-don but it was still a solid choice, but I wish there was more chicken and they could have used more dashi broth (I think thats what goes into Oyako-don). Wanted to try the cold dipping noodles but they all come with pork broth. The inside was a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for catching up with friends or a date. They made good use of the space even though it looks small from the outside.

I recently tried Tamashii Red for lunch and had a solid experience overall. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted warmly and seated right away. It was fairly busy for 12:30 on a weekday and got busier by the time I finished eating. I ordered a hot green tea and the miso ramen. It was a chilly day, so I appreciated that they brought the green tea immediately and refilled it often. The miso ramen was solid. The broth was rich and flavorful and the chasyu was tender and not too fatty. The egg was also perfectly cooked and well seasoned. My only minor critique is that the bamboo shoots that were placed on top of the ramen were cold, but I didn't really mind since the broth heated them up rather quickly. It was definitely a tasty bowl of ramen and a quick and efficient lunch. Reasonably priced as well. I would definitely return if I am in the area again.

I've only had delivery from here so I can't comment much about the dining experience. It's been there for a few years now and it's conveniently located right off of Austin Street. The delivery was quick and the food came fresh. The soup was in separate containers which makes sense. The ramen was good. Next time around I may try to dine in.

Have gotten delivery many times from here so wanted to try dine-in this time. Always get the potato croquettes. Really delicious and hits the spot whether dine in or take out. I've had pork buns that taste way better so skip out on that but try it if you like. My hubby liked it. Katsu was decent but I've had better. Gyudon was flavorful but looked a bit small. I think for future, I'll stick to getting ramen. I wanted to try other foods this time but that's my bad. Better to pay cash as its cheaper but don't try to give dollar coins because they dont accept it. So wierd. Its cash... accept it. Sheesh. Overall, I'll come back for ramen and potato croquettes. Nothing else lol.

Enjoying a good meal with a few friends. Especially when we ALL live in the same neighborhood which it was a PLUS Recap on what we had. Which everything was good... - Ika Kara Age Breaded Squid with homemade tartar sauce and a side of salad. Which is good - Tako Wasabi Raw Baby Octopus with wasabi sauce - i think friend got a shoyu ramen - shrimp teriyaki over rice - salmon teriyaki - Tabe Rayu Don spicy garlicky chaur siu over rice. I'm a ramen-o-phile if such a thing exists, and I'm always looking for a great bowl of ramen. And Tamashii Red in Forest Hills is good ramen, considering the area. That said, it's not on par with some of the spots in Manhattan, traditional and non-traditional spots. I ordered the Shoyu ramen, and for my palate, the broth wasn't as flavorful as I typically like. I also prefer the seaweed to be on the side, so I can add to the broth as I like. The seaweed sitting in the broth for long periods of time leads to a sogginess, which diminishes the texture of the seaweed. If you're in the neighborhood, and need a ramen fix, definitely check this place out, but if you're looking to have something experiential, there are many noteworthy places in NYC (e.g., Totto, Ippudo, Tonchin, Ivan).

First the people. They are great. My wife and I have been going there for about 10 years. They treat us like a King and Queen. My ramen is always perfect. And it is a very cool spot

Came here to celebrate a family member's graduation and was first time. Ordered shrimp gyoza, takoyaki, and ebi potatoes. Wifey ordered the shrimp teriyaki. Everything tasted great. I do wish the serving size was slightly bigger but was delicious. Seating ear is kinda small - maybe 30 people max. But luckily came right before the dinner rush and managed to get seated right away.

We stumbled in this afternoon, the service was pretty good, they were busy but made sure we were seated and taken care of quickly. I had a kani salad it was lobster I believe, it was okay but had way too much mayo so it was difficult to enjoy because mayo is very overpowering. We also had the shrimp rice cake which was absolutely delicious, if I knew that a rice cake was going to taste better than my tantamen ramen I would've stayed with that . The ramen was blah, the broth wasn't flavorful, the noodles weren't soft and the cabbage on top was a weird addition . All in all this ramen place was not for me, there's so many other things on the menu so o encourage anyone to go and make a decision for themselves.

There was a slight wait (10 mins?) when I went. We got lucky and missed the crowd right behind us. I went back for my birthday because I was craving Tsukemen. For appetizers, I got the tako wasabi, which was plentiful and had a big wasabi kick. The agedashi tofu was okay. I wish they cut the tofu into smaller chunks because it was hard to share. There was also too much topping that overpowered the tofu. The tsukemen itself was okay. The broth was flavorful but very heavy. The noodles were very thick. For the toppings, I would have preferred an onsen egg instead of strips of eggs that had no flavor. The sliced pork was fatty. The other ingredients were kinda bland. The portion is quite large, which was surprising. I had ordered an extra side of noodles just in case but had to take it to go.

Tamashii Ramen The Ramen noodles & appetizers here are delicious! While this restaurant is small, & doesn't accommodate very large parties--the food is delicious and well-seasoned. The "Tapas" or Appetizers are plentiful and tasty. Lots of choices. The Gyoza Pan-Fried, come in shrimp, pork, or vegetable. In the photos included, we tried the shrimp. Dumplings are usually perfectly prepared & always ask for additional sauce, if needed! The Chasyu Ramen (with extra pork) is a hearty meal with the thin noodles. *It does not come with an egg (additional charge to add). The Kana Ramen, which has the thick noodles, has a great broth, which is slightly spicy. (You can request spicy sauce to add to the broth, if needed.) The decorations and overall ambiance is reminiscent of more traditional Ramen Houses in Japan. The artwork is traditional & gorgeous, with lots of paper fans, lanterns, & other symbolistic artwork. Lunch for one please. On a Tuesday afternoon all appeared calm, quiet and this café was half devoid of patrons. Pleasantries were not exchanged as neither a smile as a single woman who often dine alone. I had a taste for comforting Japanese ramen noodle soup and time is of essence before my in-person medical appointment nearby. Without judgment I decided to give Tamashii Red the o' college try. Ramen noodles besotted to heal my heart from intense grief and loss. 12. Curry Ramen カレーラーメン Karērāmen, $14.95 Noodle soup flavored with curry sauce. Toppings: fried chicken, cabbage, red onion, and broccoli The noodles alone is delicious in abundance quantity and the chicken is tasty. Four stars as there were excessive irksome cabbage which overpowered the noodles to become the lead ingredient. Price is average as expected. Tables and wooden rectangular stools are microscopic small to hold gargantuan Asian bowls. The broth is very flavorful of Japanese curry. Customer service movements is sloth possibly due to indolence. Furthermore, by the power of observation Tamashii Red surely lacks staff to service patrons as there is only one waitress who was doing it all: maître d', waitress, busser, and cashier to distribute change. I quickly engulfed my meal and departed at 3 pm for my appointment and this Japanese café appeared to become busy filled with more patrons and one waitress cannot serve the entire business. It becomes job burnout. Takeout menu and business cards are available for grabs. The bottom of the bill embeds "suggested tip" for gratuity of 18%, 20% and 22% ergo patrons do not have to calculate the arithmetic sequence.

This review is based completely on my experience today while factoring in my past culinary experience, which has always been great. Ramen has always been on point here, no complaints there. Walking in today, it was the first and last time that I got completely disappointed. So I ask for a table for two around 5 PM. My fiancee was across the street and I was gonna order ahead for her. There were two tables open: a table for four and a table for two. The gentleman ahead of me was gathering his party of four, and there was no one else behind me, so it looked like I was next for that two-top. The hostess asked me where my second person was and I said right across the street. She said to give her two minutes. she talks to her boss and looks over at me, giving me the "wait one moment" finger (). It might as well have been the middle one because two seconds later (literally) a couple walks in, then she walks right past me and she seats them immediately after confirming both of them were there. After she seats them, she comes out to me and said that her boss said I had to wait until my party was here. I then told her, "I don't understand why you just skipped me when we were going to sit at that table and order ahead like I always do when I come here." ‍ Realizing her mistake, she went to her boss, they deliberated back-and-forth, kept glancing at me every couple of seconds and ultimately, she said "I have a table in the back but it's going to take me a few minutes." ‍ Now, I could understand if they had tables only for one (which I doubt even exists in restaurants lol) or bar seating (which I have not seen to this day) where they could've placed me. But she literally could've put just me at that table, especially since there were multiple single diners there at two-tops like the one that was available. I felt slighted after that happened. Not even a half-hearted "sorry". I walked right out and went up the block to the new Kyuramen that they opened and their ramen was SLAMMIN'. I guess everything happens for a reason, but I hope that they see this and realize why they lost a customer today to avoid something like this happening in the future because their food is great. But at the end of the day, it's a service-based industry and that goes a long way. If I'm ever in the mood for takeout/delivery Ramen and I'm in the area, I'll order from here. Otherwise, Kyuramen is now my dine-in Ramen spot in Forest Hills. (In response to ownership replying today 1-15-24) Hey Jong, thanks for your reply. I could completely understand that if it were a large party of four or more. Being from the industry, that's pretty standard. That being said, if I'm ordering ahead for two or if I'm by myself and you'd have to seat me at a two-top regardless, what is the difference?

Came here on the fly, but overall nice ambience and setting. Service was good and friendly. The food was missing something for me. Maybe my tastebuds are a bit used and abused. (Exaggerating a bit) I started with a shrimp onigiri (rice ball) which was really good I must admit, for some reason I thought two would be served but just one came. Not a big deal probably just caused I liked it I wanted another. The ramen I order, chasyu ramen, I asked for it to be spicy and they said it's not made that way and offered to give it to me on the side. Which was fine, just in my mind the same way I asked for it, couldn't it have just been placed in the broth before being brought out? Idk something small I guess but still not a big deal just speaking on my exeprience. The broth: it was light, not oily, didn't make you feel heavy after eating it. It had flavor and seasoned well enough that it wasn't over seasoned. The chashu: was underwhelming, it had no flavor other than pork for me. It was seared nicely, however it feels like it's lacking some seasoning or the marinade used to braise the pork isn't it. Can't put my finger on it. But some reused tare would do some justice. Noodles were a little on the harder side, but again I think that's the style in which this location does their noodles. Not a big thing, but for me I prefer softer noodles. Your preference. I want to come back here and try some other bowls, but not sure when I'll have the chance. Definitely has some good qualities so I would say check it out, but I would love to see what their other options are like.

Ordered from here on GrubHub when my husband and I weren't feeling the best, and honestly the quality has changed. Our veggies weren't cooked and were very, very raw. We both thought it didn't have the same quality as they had before. We ordered our same ones, veggie miso ramen and veggie ramen and we both didn't finish ours and ended up tossing out what was left.

The pork dumplings and the pork ramen are just perfection. My favorite in all of Queens. I've actually only had take out from them and haven't eaten in the restaurant but I can't wait to make my way there.

Great little local Japanese eatery for your fix of rice bowls and ramen. Everything is prepared fresh, rice hot, ramen firm, broth flavorful and overall very clean. Did I mention pricing for Forest Hills is very reasonable. Restaurant is very cozy and clean. Two points holding back from a 5 is I felt from time sitting diwn everything felt rushed even though it's Monday afternoon 5pm and establishment was more than 2/3 empty. We were handed menus and no more than 10 seconds later asked if we're ready to order and all through the meal their servers repeatedly came and asked if we're finished, even though clearly we're still eating. Mind you this is no more than 15 minutes from time we were served entrees. Why put pressure on your patrons when not busy I'll never understand. The other negativity is charging additional 8% for credit card. YES you heard right....8% as opposed to standard 3-4% these day, basically forcing your customers to pay cash. Overall good food and remember to bring cash to avoid being hit with exorbitant credit card fee.

Great bold flavor! Serving was hefty. Service was quick & professional. They are very popular & outgrowing their space quickly. The serving size for the salmon teriyaki could be larger, but delicious nonetheless. One of the best ramen you can get in Queens.

Tamashii Ramen is a snug ramen shop with a plethora of Japanese food items to choose from. After having tried the Tamashii Ramen and the Miso Ramen, I would say the Miso has a deeper, more full-bodied flavor profile to it. Prices are also very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get, which is probably why this place gets super busy. Ultimately, I see myself coming back multiple times, and I definitely recommend everyone to check it out.

Tamashii has my recommendation for ramen in the local area. While not the best ramen in Queens, it's definitely still worth checking out in the Forest Hills/Kew Gardens area. Tamashii is a small, almost hole-in-the-wall, ramen spot in the hustle and bustle of Austin street. It has a nice, wooden aesthetic. The service here is decent and the food comes out relatively fast. I came here with a party of 4 and, at another time, with a party of 5. It's a small place, so it's catered to smaller parties. It's also a very popular spot, so sometimes the wait can be long, and you might get pressed to leave more quickly than one would want. The appetizers here are pretty good. The pork gyoza is decent and full of flavor. I tried my friend's karaage and that was crunchy and savory (the sauces it came with were also good). The ramen has been good as well. I was planning to rate this 3 stars initially because my one visit I ordered the Tamashii ramen, which was a bit too light and bland for my preference. It's a shio ramen (chicken broth), which is known to be a light ramen, but as a signature for the establishment, it tasted very standard and underwhelming. If you like light ramen, then the Tamashii is for you. The shoyu ramen (pork broth), however, was more my speed. It's thicker, more savory, more flavorful and more filling. Overall, Tamashii has my recommendation for ramen in the local area.

It's a cute little spot. The staff is very friendly and helpful when you're unsure of what to order. I Love the Ramen that had been my go to. I've tried all of them except for the Veggie and the Curry. Goal is to try other dishes but something about Hot Ramen that is a MUST for me when I go. Def filling.

I hadn't had good ramen in a while and fortunately, this restaurant was my reintroduction. This. Is a small restaurant that seats around, 20ish people. The decor is similar to other traditional ramen shops with pictures of ramen and other specialties, on the walls. The food was fantastic, I had chasyu ramen. The broth was rich the chasyu was tender and delicious. (chefs kiss) Do yourself a favor and give this ramen spot a try, just go early or you will have a wait.

It's been quite a while since I've been to a good ramen spot and Tamashii Red in Forest Hills did not disappoint. I met a friend here for dinner on a Friday night and they were busy. The location is small and cozy, but worth the wait. We had a bigger group of five adults and a baby, so we had about a half an hour wait for a table to free up. We first started with apps which I shared the takoyaki with my sister. It came in a serving of four octopus balls that were perfectly cooked. I did wish there were two more takoyaki to the dish since they were so good. For the main meal I got the Champon ramen which was a seafood ramen dish with their special tamahii sauce sauce. The soup base was mild in heat and had a simple flavor packed broth that felt like a warm hug. Exactly what you're looking for on a cold night. The dish was plentiful in seafood being filled with shrimp, squid and mussels. I also liked how fresh the veggies were too. The boiled egg provided a nice rich note with it's melted yolk. Service was great as the staff quickly got the tables prepared for the next guest and attended to all the people they serviced. I would definitely be coming back again one day. Looking forward to the next meal.

I love this place. The food is well cooked and for the price you can't go wrong. I normally get the spicy chicken teriyaki but I decided to get the chicken Katsu and it did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was chill. The menu is big so there will be something for everyone.

Ordered a small plate of baked oysters. It was okay, served piping hot with a tartar sauce and a sweet sauce. It was a good flavor but nothing to write home about. The spicy miso ramen was delicious. The ramen was very savory, not too spicy, good portion and melt-in-your-mouth char siu pork. There was plenty of toppings including ground pork, corn, bamboo, and green onions. Ramen cooked a little al dente (how I like it). Service was attentive and had a pleasant experience and would come again.

Easily my favorite ramen spot on Bell Blvd. From the extremely hospitable service to the incredibly fast turnaround food wise upon ordering, everything is top notch at Tamashii. Started with the bao buns and the gyoza - all the classic flavors you could expect from both items. Definitely would order again. Ramen wise we got the Miso Ramen and the Shoyu Ramen with their spicy sauce on the side. Two for two on those soups - delicious, hearty, well balanced and incredible depth of flavor. Cant wait to go back!

I came here for Saturday lunch and the wait was 15 min for two people. It's definitely popular. There's a machine for to go orders. If you pay with cash, you get an 8% discount and the card minimum is $10 as per their menu info. I got the ebi potato, white yuzu beer, and kara miso ramen. I thought the ramen broth was just ok. Wasn't as flavorful as I thought but everything else was good. I like how crunchy the ebi potato was. Service was nice and attentive. You can see the chefs cook.

As a Vegetarian, I loved that they have some vegetarian ramen options and rightfully so, the ramen was delicious! The shoyu broth was really good and there were so many noodles! However, I do wish there were more toppings as there were barely any vegetables at all. Overall, it was still good!

Good flavor and service! I came here with a friend and we both got the $12 Tamashii ramen. The flavor was good and great for the price point. I think it's comparable to the more expensive ramen shops in Manhattan. While the ramen was good, I don't think it was particularly outstanding. We also didn't have any issues with the staff. Overall, I think it's a nice place to get ramen if you're in the area!
