"Tambarina is a restaurant where one can feel and taste the true “flavour of Cape Verde”. Living and working in the neighbourhood for more than 43 years, Domingos de Brito is the owner of this famous restaurant. Food was exceptional, biiiig portions and extra tasty. 1/2 portion is enough for one. Big glass of wine just 2 euros. Ambient is not so nice, but if you are prioritising good food over decor, then this place is for you.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Even though they have an English menu, we were not familiar with Cape Verde dishes, so we just picked randomly and were not disappointed. Big portions (we ordered to 1/2 sizes). Only downside is the wine, though inexpensive, was not good. Learned my lesson and will get a beer on tap next time.

Great comfy heartwarming food. The spicy sauce is so tasty and the cachupa is a full-time banger. Really fair prices too.

One of the most delicious places I’ve ever eaten in. Super fresh and special food from Cape Verde. And super nice chef and waiter.

One of my favourite places in Lisbon. Food for the soul in unpretentious surroundings. I felt transported to Cape Verde, and will keep coming back. Be advised: cash only

My first time trying African food. Despite its average looks, this was one of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever had! I don’t remember what this is called but it is sooooo delicious!!!

The best cachupa I have had. I come here everytime I visit Lisbon.
Very friendly owners, amazing and generous portions.
I always order the half portion cachupa especial which I think is enough for two, a portion of rice, one pastel covered with the essencial spicy sauce and a tam aroma juice.
Make sure to bring cash otherwise you have an ATM by the door.
