Tamboti Guest House

Warm and Cozy with a great location. We stayed our first and last night at Tamboti hotel and stayed in their family room, which had two beds together and two twin beds. Ziggy and Olaf were warm and excellent hosts. The doggies, Roxy and sheepdog and Fuchur the Spanish Water Dog, made our stay even more memorable. The Windhoek Craft Market is within walking distance. You should also check it out!

First time staying here and I might have found my new B&B in Windhoek! Sufficient Wi-Fi, nice rooms and showers, yummy breakfast, and close to city center. Will be returning!

The room and location are okay, but our overall experience was terrible. First of all, the pictures do not represent the guesthouse. The pool was not available (and will not be for a while) which was a disappointment, because this was the main reason why we booked it as a final destination of our trip. Windhoek is a dry and hot city and when you already have seen it, there is not much else to do than chill at a pool. When we confronted the owners with this they said it was because of the drought. This is legit reason, but in my opinion they should have updated their website with this information because there are lakes outside of Windhoek where you can stay and camp. Their response was that it is the responsibility of the guests to check by e-mail in advance if the advertised services are available! Very client unfriendly! When we asked if it was okay to stay 2 hours longer in our room (so check out at 12h) they wanted us to pay for a full day. We refused, because this was the least they could do as a service (because of the misinformation), but instead they became angry and did not want to talk to us anymore. We can not recommend this place at all, because of their misinformation on the website and their aggressive response when we confronted them with it. There are plenty of other places with more friendly staff and are honest on their website about their services.

What a great place, no wonder it was rated first at lonely planet. We stayed at a couples room, it was very clean, modern, great shower, had a good kitchen with a fridge etc... The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast exceeded our expectations. The place feels very safe, a 5 minute walk from everything in the city center. Very reasonable prices for everything this place offers. See no reason to look somewhere else for a stay in Windhoek.

Our favourite spot in windhoek! Very large and clean rooms, great location walking distance from city center, amazing breakfast and very nice owners! We will defenitly come back.
