Tammen’s Fish Market

We had the tropical salmon bowl and the shrimp po boy (both 17$, expensive for anywhere else but normal for Denver). Food came out pretty fast even on a Saturday at lunch time. The flavor of the po boy was great, but the shrimp was just slightly overcooked. The grilled salmon was cooked well, but the rice was both slightly overcooked and also dry in places, which was really annoying. I also felt that for the size and price of the bowl there could have been more vegetables. Not that bad, but I definitely wouldn't eat here again. How do you mess up white rice??

Last time I was here was in 2023 and wow this place has really grown! Very popular place to eat and in a very popular area of Denver. This fish market has poke bowls that you can order at the walk-up counter, then find a place to sit and enjoy some good people watching! Clean facilities, friendly workers, and a water station for cold water. The tune poke was delicious and came in clutch during a quick visit to the area. Beautifully renovated building. Walkable area but parking looked difficult.

It is located in the Central Market, they serve up fresh seafood and have a great selection. My plate was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Service is solid, and the vibe is casual. I found the portions small

Food: the food is great. It comes out hot and fresh. They have good taste. I also ordered the hand roll spicy tuna ( forgot to take a pic). The spicy tuna is truly spicy but it was good. If you don't like spicy, I don't recommend it. Service: HORRIBLE. I ordered the crispy shrimp taco. When I got my order, they gave me the fish taco. I informed her that I said crispy shrimp taco but she said I said crispy fish and then said if I said crispy, she assumed it was crispy fish. One menu said crispy and another menu says fried shrimp. REGARDLESS, I said shrimp but they ignored that part. She was getting offended that she was wrong and wouldn't admit to it. She argued with a friend when he tried to order a crispy shrimp taco and told her it's how it is on the overhead menu. They wouldn't correct the mistake but continue to argue with me. Ambiance: it's in a food hall.

I ordered the tuna poke and grilled shrimp taco. These are the best tacos I’ve ever had! This is my first time in Denver, and will definitely be coming back!

Got the poke bowl, ceviche, salmon hand rolls, and shrimp tacos. The poke bowl was bland. Ceviche was ok. Shrimp tacos were tasty. The hand roll was extremely fishy. I would like to try this place again. First impression wasn't bad but I think I just had an off day.

What a experience it made for us, Tammen's Fish Market, located inside had incredible oysters and sushi! Make this place a stop for you and your family! Oysters names and origin was new to us. We usually like Blue Point, but these Japanese? Named oysters were awesome. As we were about to eat, we saw the sushi being displayed and added sushi to the menu for us, Amazing all the way!

Love the clam chowder here! Wish I can have some right now as I am working it away from Denver. The thickness and creaminess everything is perfect. Every spoon had the perfect amount of clam. I will eat this everyday if it’s next to me.

I came to this place located inside of a food hall and I tried 4 of their seafood tacos (shrimp, Halibut, Cod, and Ahi Tuna). The staff was friendly and the food was prepared quickly. I really enjoyed 3 of the 4 tacos. However, the Halibut taco was not very flavorful. The tacos weren't the best thing I've ever had but definitely worth ordering. I'd definitely come again.

Awesome spot to grab food and drinks. Central Market is great and in an excellent location, and this is one of the best spots in the market. This is my go to spot in Central Market. I ordered the fish and chips. Comes with 3 good sized pieces of fish, and a plate of fries underneath. The fish is nice and flaky - which is how I like it, and the beer battered shell is good too. The fries and seasoned well and are plentiful. I am always full when I am done eating here. I was able to substitute out my Tatar Sauce and vinegars for extra ketchup, which I was appreciative of. I also had the bang bang shrimp from here. It was a great shareable dish, and there was enough to get everyone a few pieces. I loved the sauce, but will warn that everyone thought it was very spicy even though it says not spicy on the sign. Regardless, really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend Central Market as there are options for everyone to eat and drink here, and this spot specifically as my go-to. Great place to stop in RiNo!

Located inside the Denver Central Market, there's a lot of good selection in here! It was definitely hard to choose, but in the Denver Central Market Yelp page, there was some people that recommended Tammen's for their poke. I decided to try their poke since I was curious about the fish! It didn't take too long for my order to be finished preparing, which I was still looking for seats at that time for a big party group lol. There are seats located at this stall too, but needed more seats for my group of friends. Anyways, I did not succeed, but I got to enjoy my poke lol. So the poke bowl notably has a very citrus-sour taste. It wasn't bad, but it was just a bit overpowering to eat. I liked how they had this spicy mayo sauce to use it with, I wish they offered more! The salmon and rice were fresh, but I wish there were more ingredients to this to make this more full. They also had those mexican radishes that I was surprised to see lol. Overall, the bowl itself was okay. I definitely should have had more ingredients or at least more salmon.

Came here on a snowy Saturday in April since it's inside the Denver Central Market and we wanted to escape the cold. I love that they have sample dishes at the counter where you order so you can see all the different available dishes. When you order, you give your phone number then you can find a table and they will text you when your order is ready. Super simple process since it's really busy and can be overwhelming in there. I got the crawfish boil and my husband ordered the shrimp ramen. The broth in my crawfish boil was really flavorful but everything else needed a bit more flavor/seasoning. I'm from the South and grew up eating Cajun food so I might be a little more harsh than most people. The shrimp ramen was good, there was just entirely too many bean sprouts. There were several other dishes that looked good so we would give this place another try!

Stopped in to Central Market for the bakery and decided to also grab lunch, We enjoyed our meal here. We had the salmon poke bowls and ceviche and shared the bang bang shrimp among 4 of us as an app.

They were one of the few places open on a hot summer afternoon in Denver Central Market. Felt like having a (refreshing) hand roll... it was alright. Nothing crazy good, but it wasn't bad either.

Horrible service. We stood around for a 5 minutes as we watched the workers bs'ing but my oysters craving made me stick around. They had 4 to choose from and each were 3.50 The oysters did not have any descriptions on where they were harvested and , I guess I'll call her , waitress had no idea where the oysters were harvested also. And I mean , she said a New Brunswick oyster was from Virginia. In fact , she said all the oysters came from Virginia. They were not. Only one did. I picked a west coast one. It was just thrown into a bowl from the ice and sat there for 5 minutes before it got shucked. Room temperature oysters are not just unhealthy but also gross. When oysters arrived. There were now cocktail sauce. I'm a purist with oysters so don't care for cocktail sauce but my sis is. I it took long to receive our requests. TL;DR - skip this due to crappy service.

Considering Denver is landlocked, Tammen's Fish Market does a commendable job with their seafood offerings. The salmon was decent--it tasted fresh, though it could have been better. Despite the geographical challenges, Tammen's Fish Market manages to showcase some of the highest quality and freshest seafood in Denver. However, I was a bit disappointed with the ceviche. It didn't taste that fresh and lacked the vibrant flavors I was hoping for. Overall, while there are hits and misses, Tammen's Fish Market remains a solid choice for seafood in a landlocked city. With a few tweaks, it could be pretty good.

It's easy to come by Tammen's as it's the first thing you see as you enter the market. We came by on a Friday night and there was a couple sitting at the high counter. I saw a few others getting the fish tacos to eat at other common tables. But overall it was a bit slow for them compared to other places. And in comparison to the weekend crowd we always see. We ordered 2 fish and chips since that's what we were craving. We ended up being the only two people at the high counter through our entire meal. It was made super fresh by the cook right in front of us. That was really nice to see. The fish and chips came with three pieces of fried fish, waffle fries, and little containers of ketchup, tartar sauce, and malt vinegar. Plus a few wedges of lemon. Overall I was very happy with the entrees. They weren't overly salted at all. If anything, it had no seasoning at all and the flavor really depended on the tartar sauce and malt vinegar. At $18 per plate, it was definitely more than enough food. We had half our order taken to go. But I think that one plate would've been enough and then take your time with another place for an interesting menu. Would I come back again to this place? Maybe? But there are sooo many other businesses to try out that I'd make a round with them and come back another time. I wish there was more flavor with the dishes. But at least the fish and oysters always look fresh.

So I saw the low ratings...and ignored them. I really wanted to check out Denver's Central Market and was drawn to Tammen's Fish Market so I wanted to give them a shot. They had such an interesting menu - where else do you find a place that serves hand rolls, poke, fish & shrimp tacos, ceviche and lobster bisque (among many others)? Is it Japanese? Is it Mexican? Nope, it's just seafood done different ways! The lobster bisque in the bread bowl was salty! Definitely do not recommend getting that. The salmon hand rolls were...bizarre. They had slices of Granny Smith apples in them. Why?? Who thought this was a good idea? My first bite I thought it was a pretty bland handroll, then the second bite came with the apple and I was thrown off. My fiancé took a bite out of his and was immediately like "nope." The tacos were good though and were Tammen's saving grace. You don't have to choose all fish or all shrimp tacos, you can opt for both and I would recommend both because they were solid. The shrimp and fish were not greasy or overly battered and were complimented well with their fresh toppings.

Located inside of denver central market in rino and offered quick seafood for decent prices. The whole vibe of the foodhall was very fun and social with lots of other food options. The yuzu salmon handroll was so good! They make the food in front of you if you sit at the bar table available. Would recommend a visit

$18 for basically a plate of pre frozen fries. Was ok but definitely wouldn't buy again. I've fries were good though. We ordered to go

Food was ok, we ordered the bang, bang shrimp, and the salmon Poké bowl. The shrimp was good, but the Poké bowl was inconsistent, covered in lemon juice, and not impressive for the price. Service was terrible. Employees were annoyed at having to take orders and make food at 9:25 on a Saturday night when they close at 10. When my food was ready, I went up to the counter to get my food, and the employee didn't even hand me my food he just said, "yeah that's yours" and turn and walked away. Not how you keep customers coming back.

Wow. This was the most bland and tasteless ceviche I've ever had. There's not heat, no salt, no flavor, just mush. The raw oysters were warm and tasted fishy in the worst way. The salmon handroll was also flavorless and a weird mashed up texture.

food was good but the customer service was garbage. the guy on register said 1 word total and looked very disappointed to be serving us. granted, they close in 30 minutes, but don't advertise that you're still open if you're gonna give us attitude.

My experience here was pleasant. We came in on a Saturday when it was super busy and where able to place our order and get our food right away. Plenty of seating and the area was nice and clean. Grade-A people watching on the weekends. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they where delicious. I was stuffed and had no space for anything else after that meal. I'd be back!

A just-okay experience - I ordered the ceviche but probably won't be back. The raw fish quality was a 7/10 but found the seasoning to be way too tarte/heavy on the lime juice. The bits of radish/pineapple/other veggies were diced very finely, masking the unripeness of the ingredients but providing no extra flavor. Not much to say about the service since it is order at the counter style & put dishes away yourself; the market seating ambiance is casual and lively.

We rushed inside Denver Central Market after getting rained on and after perusing a bit, decided to pick up lunch here! I ordered the shrimp tacos, my family ordered the fish and chips. After our text notifications went off, we picked up what was quite possibly, the biggest plates of seafood based food we've ever had. My tacos were a pile of fried shrimp, slaw, and avocado. It was crisp, creamy, and savory all at once. I must of looked like a mad (wo)man after seeing the mess I made. But well worth it. My family enjoyed their fish and chips as well. Overall, for the price and the portion, I would definitely check this place out!

Fun atmosphere inside the market. The food however... We ordered a dozen oysters and they were room temp at best. The tray also didn't have any silverware which has me questioning the service or lack there of. Not great, probably won't buy again.

I leave reviews so that owners/staff can read and hopefully improve. As I should have read reviews here before ordering last night. The food was really bad quality, hand-rolls were like manifestation of a "cannot care less" message. The fish in them was the cheapest possible in terms of integrity and taste...basically tastes mash. The rice was undercooked, like seriously undercooked. The ceviche - chips were super hard but not crispy and totally lacking flavor, the fish part - same, barely had any flavor. Overall, really really bad experience...I can't remember when I had seen food this low quality in Denver.

My boyfriend and I came by the Denver's Central Market after relaxing at a spa nearby. We wanted to look for some small eats before we did anything else and noticed this place. It's located inside the Denver Central Market with a lot of other eateries on Larimer St. There's only street parking around the area which can be a little difficult to find. Expect to walk a few blocks if there aren't any spots nearby! But there is a small paid lot next door. We got the fish tacos which came with three. The tacos were beautifully presented in this tin tray that specifically held tacos. Pretty cool! They were stacked with fried fish topped with red cabbage? (maybe red onions), avocado, cottage cheese. Drizzled with a light reddish sauce. First bite: both me and my boyfriend did not expect it to be spicy LOL. Not too spicy but definitely not expected. It was a quick spicy that didn't even bother to creep up. Complimented with the tacos super well. One thing was that there was a spice but there wasn't much of a flavor that stayed. It was kind of bland. Not sure if that was intentional but the tacos were good with the sauce drizzle! Loved the amount of food given for the price paid here. They have a lot of other seafood options to choose from. Definitely a good place for a lunch snack!

For $14 I expect a little more fish (or other ingredients) to fill me up. For a "fish market" I expect the fish to be fresh. For a ceviche I expect some salt and lemon to be included in the dish. Iordered to dine-in, but got a wasteful plastic package to go instead. I do have to mention that they were very nice. Go somewhere else.

Loved the handrolls and oysters here! The price felt really reasonable for the size and quality of the salmon yuzu handroll and the spicy tuna handroll, and the oysters were all really fresh and delicious. I only wish we had ordered twice as many oysters.

Mmmm! The only positive is that my sister enjoyed her salmon sandwich. The fish and chips were not available due to equipment not working so I reluctantly chose the fish tacos after hearing it was cod. The worst fish tacos I have ever had and I have had plenty! The fish was gross and tasteless. It had cod, red cabbage, avocado (which had I known would not have ordered) and the wrong cheese for this nasty thing! I am sorry but I left 1 and a half of three. I only choked it down because I was drinking and needed something on my stomach. I went to the counter to see if they had some salsa anything to cover the taste! Nothing available! I decided to buy a bag of chips to help kill the taste in my mouth.

The high reviews on this place has me scratching my head. I really wanted to like this spot inside of Denver Central Market, but it just wasn't it. Food looks good, and the people you see ordering and eating at tables all around trick you into thinking it's going to be enjoyable. Calamari was tough, my partner could barely get through her oyster tacos that were mostly flour, and my shrimp tacos were just alright. The spicy tuna handroll was by far the best thing we had, we should have gotten more of them and skipped the other items. Food was too pricey for the quality overall, and we most likely won't be back here with other stalls in the market, and hopefully better seafood restaurants to try in Denver.

We went there around 6ish. The market wasn't too busy. They ran out of bread bowl which is not an issue. The clam chowder was really thick and mostly potato. Did not enjoy that at all. Shrimp Tacos out of three dishes we ordered was the best. The radish in the poke tasted funny and I usually love radish. Maybe it was toward end of the day and not much fresh ingredients left. I wouldn't go back. Food looked better than they tasted.

It's just ok... like the fish is fresh, they cook right in front of you. But agree it's just a basic fish taco breaded fish, purple cabbage, some spicy cream sauce with avocado and yah it's pricy. The oysters were tiny given and just kind of tossed at you before you can ask for a cracker or anything.

Located in the Denver Central Food Market I kind of like this place. It is a little pricey, but that seems to always be the case with seafood. I do think that the food is good and they have interesting specials. I'd say it's between 3-4 stars but I'll go with 4 because I feel that still they have good food so even with the high price I felt like I was happy with what I got. The market itself gets very crowded sometimes and it's hard to find a place to sit and eat inside, they should really try to do something about it. I really don't feel like racing to find a spot, it takes a little bit away from the overall experience.

I love seafood, so naturally after scoping out all the food options I returned here. I ordered the crab croquettes and an order of shrimp tacos. The croquettes were four pieces and the tacos were three tacos. The shrimps were big. It was a bit pricey but we'll worth it. Both were amazing, super fresh and perfectly prepared. The presentation was also nice. The shrimp tacos were the best I've had so far. My husband and I shared both dishes and were satisfied. We weren't full but neither were we hungry. We had just enough room for dessert at Izzio Bakery. Next time I am in Denver, i will return here.

My significant other and I decided to stop by as a last minute snack. It reminded us of our famous fish markets in Seattle in that it was a small business, hipster vibes, and inside of a farmer's market. It has the potential to be a great tourist trap, but the small community it was nestled in and the customers it served felt very intimate. There was no wait to order and our food was prepared fairly quickly. The service was also warm, communicative, and personable. They ran out of rice for our order and made it a point to remember our faces and find us in the cafeteria and provide us with alternative solutions. We wanted to order the tacos but we had just picked up lunch not too long ago. Instead we ordered the salmon temaki. The salmon was so buttery and fresh. I truly wish I was hungrier because I would have ordered multiple. I plan to visit Denver again and will for sure be returning!

if you started looking at the menu just walk away asap! We got the crab PO boy and 2 shrimp 1 fish tacos. The crab PO Boy was so bad our stomach got bloated after eating half the sandwich. it was $20 for nasty crab sandwich and chips. smh NOT WORTH it at all. The shirmp taco was okay but the 1 fish taco tasted so bad, it was as if i was eating sand with a bad smell! We were recommended this place from a youtube video, but honestly, our NYC Food court or any food court has better food and choices than this horrible food market. I will not recommend anyone to come here. They give free tap water and the glasses are dirty.

Mexican shrimp ceviche was absolutely amazing! Service was quick, lots of activity going on and hard to find a seat, but worth it!

Waltzed in here on a weekend trip to Denver and decided on Tammen's as a good final destination inside this food hall of many choices and cuisines, because I'm always up for some shellfish. I agree with some of the reviews saying that customer service is really lackluster here. The vibes aren't very friendly, there doesn't seem to be an appreciation for your business whatsoever. I, along with other reviewers, also felt unwelcomed when approaching the cash register. But the oysters stood out to me because instead of being limited to a dozen or 1/2 dozen pricing, you are able to order by the piece, with oysters ranging from $2-6. I asked the man at the counter which he recommended, and signs will state where each oyster is from. I decided on 4 different ones and they were plated nicely on a bed of salt rocks. Crab toast was good - I liked the sauce. Crab didn't seem super fresh though. And obviously, because it's seafood, price is pretty steep. I guess you're more-so paying for the luxury of on-demand seafood inside a multi-vendor food hall than amazing top quality seafood. Did the job and I enjoyed my experience dining inside the market. A-OK.

Tammen's Fish Market inside the Denver Central Market was the first place that caught my eye. Watching the chef's batter and fry the fish was a great experience. We got the fish tacos and crab croquettes. The crab croquettes were hands down the best I've had, even without sauce. The fish tacos were just as good as they look, they do have a quite a kick to them.

The clam chowder was delicious and the bread bowl was the perfect consistency required for a bread bowl. There's really not much else I can say here, so I'll let the picture of the soup do the talking.

I was surprised to see the reviews of Tammen's so I wanted to do them a solid and share a review of my experience because it was great and my Poke Bowl was delicious. Yes, it was a bit of wait during the lunch rush, but the human at the register was really kind and my meal was delicious. I would definitely come back for a meal and the fish available for purchase looked fresh! Seafood is hit or miss in our land locked state, but Tammen's is a few blocks from me, inside Denver Central Market, and I'm a fan.

Really tasty fish tacos (see picture) on crunchy blue corn tortillas. Portions are not huge so if you are hungry you may want to order an app too. Would return!

Wanted so badly to be a customer here-- to try out their Scottish Salmon, but after trying to talk to the 3rd person there, I gave up and walked out. The person grabbed the Atlantic Salmon and I told her she has the incorrect ine, I wanted the Scottish Salmon. She even had the sign that said Atlantic Salmon that was sitting on top of the fish. Sigh! Too bad since I really did want the Scottish one but oh well, based on the other reviews perhaps it just saved myself from getting sick?

Worth it! The lobster roll and fries are $20 each, which sounds steep, however, my husband and I wanted to try Five Guys burgers and shakes and it was $38! I'd rather have a lobster roll!! Taste wise, if you like lobster, it's got plenty of big chunks and the sauce is delicious! Also, props to the seasoned fries which were are good!

I got a lobster roll to go. I did not take a picture, but mine looked exactly like the picture that someone posted a month ago. The food was perfect. The fries were crisp waffle fries. The roll was fresh, soft, buttery, and toasted. It looked like there was a yummy lobster salad (lobster and Mayo) on the bottom of the roll topped with big chunks of lobster. It was so delicious and I look forward to eating it again.!!

Oysters were very hit-or-miss. We ordered five dozen for a few outdoor happy hours near thanksgiving. They only had four dozen of what we wanted, though they didn't tell us that on the phone. Then, of the four dozen, three dozen (of two types of oysters) were of good quality. The last dozen shouldn't have been sold. The oysters were old and dried out, with no liquor at all. We didn't eat any of them. We contacted the market via email to ask what they could do to make it right, and never heard back.

Came in to order ceviche... they took my order then told me it would be a 15 minute wait (although I was one of the only customers in the building). After 20 minutes I returned to the counter to inquire about my food only to be told it would be a few more minutes. After an addition 5 minutes I told them I would like to cancel my order and the guy at the register fought with me about refunding my card. Also, during my wait I noticed an obscene amount of flies flying around their sink behiend the counter. I will not be retuning which is sad because at one time, I enjoyed the food.

I tried Tammen's crab and avocado toast for my first meal of the day. I had met a friend for coffee and didn't have breakfast so by 11 I was getting quite hungry. Usually if I skip breakfast I just go straight to lunch but today I wasn't quite feeling lunch yet so crab and avocado toast fit the bill for my "brunch." Everything seemed very fresh and tasted quite yummy, just a little small for the price.

WOW, a disgrace. 6 oysters, 50 bucks and not even fresh, overly salty shrimp quesadillas. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, and it'll cost you! GO TO JAX Seafood if you're in Denver, got burned bad on this one.

Worse salmon burger I ever had... i couldn't even finish it.. even the fries were horrible. Stay away!!!
