Let's see - 10 tasty sandwiches (5 chicken, 5 pork), 3 iced coffees, 2 spring rolls and one big bag of shrimp chips = $30. $2.25 for a sandwich? $1.50 for iced coffee? And I LOVE Vietnamese coffee. And that pork sandwich on a toasted baguette was really, really good. And of course, the pork is so different from Paseo's that I really don't feel like I cheated on my favorite boyfriend (the #2 @ Paseo). I'm not torn between two lovers, not me. Besides, the banh mi isn't exactly overflowing with goods - there's an adequate amount of pork and jalapenos and stuffing, but it doesn't threaten to explode like a Paseo. Then again, for $2.25 how can you go wrong?
I love this little deli. Nothing is written in English and we stood around waiting for the sandwiches saying things like "Ooh, I love that!" "Ooh, what is *that*?" "Mmm, that smells good." There are plenty of hot dishes steaming away and shelves of prepackaged snack foods and lots of plastic wrapped trays filled with things like, well, I don't know. Taro? Meat? Custard? They looked good, but I'll save the culinary adventure for the next visit. This deli is so worth finding. Plus the people are friendly. Keep them in business. Go.
