Tanama River Adventures

Great tour! Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely follow the instructions provided in advance - wear close toed shoes, bring snacks, and wear clothes/bags you can get wet up to your waist in. The hike is beautiful but steep, so have a good breakfast and bring plenty of water.

This was my favourite experience visiting PR. For reference, I also did the bioluminescence tour in La Parguera, a walk around Old San Juan, drove up and down mountains and traveled through and around the island (except for the Southeast area) and slid down a natural waterslide at Gozalandia Falls. With Tanama Adventures, we got to experience hiking on moderate to difficult terrain going up and down some slippery rocks at times. Crossed the river more than once mostly at chest height (I'm 5'7") with optional swimming in some deep areas. There is an option to cliff dive that's at least 25ft (I'm guessing). Suffice to say, you will be wet 100%. Life jackets were provided. The hike on the hill was approx 25min one way and again, the terrain was varied--rocky, dirt and wet with obstacles--but there is a path. Again for reference, my group had a fun girl team in their 60/70s and although some considered it very tough to hike, they pushed through and enjoyed it. There really is risk of slipping and falling for sure...We kind of all did at some point so good tread on your closed toe sandals or water shoes are non-negotiable--you will probably slip still, just FYI. There was also natural spring water that I tried and damn...it was like Fiji water but x10. You don't have to believe me but believe me. The caves we saw had an awe-inspiring feeling. The Cuevas del Arco was amazing to see in person. It's vast (see pic for scale vs size of the people). We also saw many bats high above us and Guava (?) spiders that a few from my group volunteered to touch😬. The other cave we visited was called Cuevas Obscura (I think) but it's nick name is "the dark cave". The guides (Jama & BJ) provided headlamps for us. We even turned off all lights inside the cave and there was a solemn feeling in there being pitch black in a cave full of bats! What else am I missing...parking is ample. Easy to find. Best bang for your buck. No pressure of first come first serve like in El Yunque. The roads are windy and up and down but if you like that, you'll love it. If you have a small dry bag for your water bottle that would be very useful. A dry bag for your phone is a plus. I researched this hike beforehand and thought I could do it on my own but now that I've experienced it, I'm glad I went with a tour; to find the right route, for safety and to navigate the paths to the right places in and out of the caves were crucial. I watched a YouTube video of a dude who did it and I didn't think we'd be able to go where he went but we did them all and more. The tours are only in the morning because the river there is very dangerous to be in in the afternoon so if you do go on your own, be warned. Do your research! To top it all off, BJ and Jama made sure our safety was top of mind yet, were also very knowledgeable and were very good energy⚡. Thank you so much. You guys were amazing, to say the least. The things we did was jam packed inside 3ish hours. This was a unique experience that I don't think I could find in the mainland without a lot of yellow tape. This had Indiana Jones vibes for real. I was sincerely happy to have tried this. You also make friends and share pics:). If you have some hesitation to try this out, that's exactly the feeling you should have and go! My pics don't do it justice but I hope it helps for scale and reference.

Great experience! Jama (hope I spelled it right) made the tour absolutely amazing. Allowed us to explore on our own at certain stopping points, educated us and was patient with the group's pace. I definitely recommend only hiking shoes and not water shoes. All the girls & guys hated life with there water shoes. If you bring a small bag, make sure it's waterproof. We brought small snacks and water which was definitely needed. They let you wash your stuff with a hose at the end, so I recommend bringing dry clothes to change into after.

We had a great time with our guide, Marcos. It wasn’t easy but also not terribly difficult, the caves and landscape were amazing. Plenty of time to rest and take it all in. Marcos was also extremely accommodating with various route options for those who didn’t want to swim. Prepare to get completely wet regardless though. Would greatly recommend a tour through these guys, they know what they’re doing!

We had an amazing experience on the Mukaro Cave tour. It rained the day before, which made the river current strong enough for us to enjoy body floating. Exploring the cave and spotting bats was also thrilling. The tour guides shared fascinating information about the local flora and fauna and were very helpful throughout the entire experience. I would definitely recommend this tour!

This tour was absolutely amazing I totally recommend it. We were running a couple minutes late and they were able to allow us on the tour still. Yama was so sweet and led the way during our hike and was more than willing to take pictures of us! The experience was amazing and everything was gorgeous!

This was a great tour with BJ! You will be fully in the water so make sure to bring a water proof bag! The hike is no joke and very slippery, definitely bring good water/hiking shoes. If you have knee problems do not go on this hike. The views were absolutely amazing and we got to jump off rocks, explore caves, see bats, and play in the river. The roads getting there and then during the tour are very winded so take medicine if you get sick. It will look like you are going to the middle of no where but it’s just where the trail starts. 10/10 trip! Me and my 3 siblings had so much fun and would 100% recommend.

Just did this excursion on 3/11/25. We had an amazing time. Went with my husband, my 16 year old daughter, 8 year old son. The hike is kinda long, but my 8 year old did not complain at all. The guide was fun and informative. There are slippery areas but if you wear good shoes and walk carefully you will be fine. Although, our gps took us somewhere else first, I called the number and someone answered the phone right away and gave me directions, make sure you follow the directions on the website. This was the highlight of our trip.

The tour was excellent. We explore new caves we have never seen in our stay in Puerto Rico. We also swan in the river and painted our faces with clay. This tour requires some conditioning as we walk down and up a mountain. Overall is was great, especially bathing in the river.

This tour is definitely an adventure! An amazing one at that! There's so many components to this tour hiking, grappling, tubing, but nothing compares to the little things that weren't on the description when booking this tour. The views are spectacular and I have to say our tour guide Mariel was AMAZING. She made the tour so exciting for us and my two nieces. She went out of her way to show us things I KNOW she didn't have too but she did because she wanted us to have a great experience. I recommend this tour to anyone and everyone. Yes we do a lot of hiking so maybe not for everyone but if you want an adventure and see Puerto Rico trust me you will on this tour. Thank you to Mariel and the company for everything! Best day of our trip! The ONLY reason I would take out one star is because they have no clear directions to get to the tour on the website. We put the address in the GPS and it took us 20 mins away from the actual tour. We called them and the employee we talked too seemed really annoyed that we were lost and wasn't too helpful! I just wish he had more patience. Thank God we talked Spanish if not I don't see how we would've gotten there on time with the employees attitude. But at the end helped us a bit and we got there on time. By the way, The employee was not the same one we toured with.

Professionally run, outstanding friendly and attentive customer service, with a keen attention for safety first. Our family did the Mukaro Cave Tour. Getting to the location was easy given their explicit and descriptive directions. Give yourself plenty of time. Lots of curvy country roads which take time. Their equipment is well maintained and their on site bathroom and changing rooms are very clean. Sturdy reliable water/hiking shoes are a must. The walking and hiking is extensive and oftentimes in uneven surfaces, slippery conditions and obviously on the riverbed. You'll want to be in good shape. We went in June and while we understood that river water is often cold, we actually found it quite refreshing. Our entire group of seven was led by BJ. The tubing was tranquil and well organized and we got up close to the rocks in the cave. The life jackets and helmets helped us along the way. Walking along the river and exploring the different caves and rock formations was really cool. The cave system is unique and we visited three distinct locations. From start to finish total tour was about 3 hours. Besides listening to the natural sounds of the river and the forest, we really enjoyed that it was a hiking adventure in which you started one way and came back through another - there was no back tracking. Bring snacks and water in your waterproof bag -- you'll really enjoy it half way through during a rest stop on the river. Highly recommend it and glad that groups like this are helping to keep this natural landscape clean.

My family and I did our tour with Marielle. She was INCREDIBLE. The hike was challenging but fun; we got to experience the countryside of PR, and the view and rich culture was a once in a lifetime experience. Marielle was so patient with our moms because they were afraid of water so I am grateful for that. I HIGHLY recommend this tour!

Great tour! We did option 2 with Homer as our guide. He was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The hike can be slippery at times and has a few elevated slopes. Wear sturdy sneakers you don't mind getting wet and muddy. They will protect your feet against the rocks and provide better traction than water socks. The climb is not easy (but doable) but the views /experience are well worth it! Ps.. Their website says they are off Km 49.2. That's a typo, it's really km 42.9.

This is DEFINITELY one of the best things I did while in Puerto Rico! And I recommend this group particularly--we ran into another tour group coming the opposite way and their excursion looked like a death march as they went along. One even tried to join our posse! ;) For a mere $100 (our particular package) we had an all-day awesome trip through the jungle unlike anything I've ever experienced. We had a good # of friends so we were our own group. Omar was our tour guide, and he was fun, patient, and informative. You can tell he has a deep love for nature--really holistic-type of dude. Truly it felt like a bunch of friends getting together, one of whom just happened to know all the secrets of the nature. Gorgeous hiking, in and out of the river, some cliff-jumping into the river. (I carried a water-resistant backpack and if I could do it all over again, I would have left it in one of their lockers. I had to carry the bag over my head when we walked in chest-deep water.) One of the first things we did was rappelling down a cliff. I used to rappel when I was younger and these guys really know what they're doing. A few bounces down the cliff and then you're hanging free! It was awesome! We walked through bat caves, inner-tubed together through river caves, had a clay facial (yes, you heard me correctly) and played with water-repellent plant leaves that turned silver when they went underwater. I'm serious when I say that our time didn't feel guided at all, we were just a bunch of Dora the Explorers. After we were done, as part of our package, they provided us with a lovely lunch too. You should definitely do this so you can relive the day with your people. Wear good shoes that can get wet. I wore my trail running shoes and I felt secure on the mixed terrain and my toes were happy! Bring waterproof snacks and don't forget your GoPro!

Loved this tour of the beautiful Tanama river area, and this tour group had great service, prioritized safety, and was very accommodating of our group! Would definitely recommend and hope to return again next time. We did the Avatar tour, which involved 45' rappelling, a short hike to the river, river tubing through an amazing cave tunnel, and more hiking/swimming through the river and to the beautiful caves. Would definitely bring water shoes of some sort, as it involves lots of river crossings and getting wet! Our tour guide, Nicolas, was great, and overall it was a very adventurous and fun day trip.

This tour was nothing short of amazing. Really makes you appreciate the beauty of this island if you didn't already. Tour guides are great and helpful. Highly recommend. Deserves 100 stars if that was possible.

We did the cave tubing excursion here at the Tanama River Adventures. Let me say that it was a fantastic experience with an equally fantastic tour guide! Yama was very funny and friendly and we felt lucky to have her. My father is from Utuado, and coming back to see the towns and experience his childhood was a blessing, with the right gift being paired with Yama. We plan on coming back again!

We visited in November group of 10 ranging from 12-60. We did the Mukaro; it was beyond what we expected. The beauty, fresh air and access to natural resources was incredible. We laughed a lot our guide Marcos was amazing. As a family we have decided to visit and do more excursions every time we go to PR.

Amazing tour and guides! We did tour option #5. Everything on the tour was exciting and we felt safe- hiking, rappelling, cliff jumping, cave tubing, and more. Our guides shared their knowledge of the plants and animals we encountered. The sights and views are breathtaking, even the drive there is beautiful but windy. Be sure to call if you get lost. The meal at the end was delicious and satisfying. It is worth the price, and I highly recommend them! Tip: They respond better to phone reservations than email. I had emailed them to reserve, and when I called after no confirmation, the man on the phone said my reservation was never received. By phone is the only way of communicating with them.

If you want a fun adventure that is also educational and of substance, this is a great locally owned company to tour with. On the way to the starting point of the hike, the ride took us around a residential property, some people in our group wondered out loud how often do they go grocery shopping, maybe go out once a month? They and we, learned it was an organic farm, operated a family for many years - no grocery shopping necessary! Ah, city folk (myself very much included)... At the end of our adventure we had the privilege to have a delicious traditional lunch at the farmer's home. Our guide Fernando was very knowledgeable and shared his personal connection to the land we were hiking/rapelling/cavetubing in. I think that definitely made the tour more substantial and inspiring. It is tours like this that remind you the true reason why we should travel and experience other places.

Cueva del Arco is a must see. It was very beautiful. Cave tubing was relaxing while being informative. Free Jumps were fun to experience. Glad we wore tennis shoes for the hiking portion. Our tour guide (Marcos) was very kind and informative/knowledgeable about our surrounding environment. Great tour would highly recommend.

We did the Mucaro Tour with Marcos on Saturday November 24 it was amazing. The tour was even better that the pictures and videos on their website show. We had a diverse group ranging from 60 to 12 including 2 non swimmers Marcos worked with us and kept it fun for all of us.

Scheduled this on our 2nd to last day in Puerto Rico and it was soooo much fun! Phil, Javier and all of the other guides were great and so much fun! It rained a little bit this day so we were not able to do the second cave, but the first cave, hike and repel were awesome! Would do it again! Recommend this company! Oh yes, and lunch at the end provided was delicious!!!

One of the awesome excursions we've ever been on. Definitely a good workout and not for the weary. The guides were extremely helpful and nice. Definitely a once in a life time experience. We did the Option 4 tour. At the end of the excursion, they treated us to a delicious lunch. Fresh ingredients and delicious guacamole and baby bananas.

When you ask friends, colleagues or even Puerto Ricans about the places to visit in Puerto Rico, the ones you get referred to are the Culebras, the bio bays and the Camuy Caves. But, I'm so glad that the caves were closed because we had to look for other options and we thought we'd try out the cave tubing at Tanama River Adventures. We ended up getting more than we asked for as we chose the Mukaro tour, which includes hiking, trekking, swimming, tubing, wading in water etc. Our guide Gaby was knowledgable, friendly and polite. I'd definitely recommend this tour for your Puerto Rican vacation.

It's an official adventure!! I can't believe my family just hiked mountains, spelunked, cliff jumped and repelled. Omar and BJ were such great tour guides. They kept my 60 yr old mom safe while climbing slippery paths. Our whole family had an experience of a lifetime. Omar was a wealth of knowledge and taught us so much about agriculture, botany and geology of this area. P.s. This place is up a mountain on a very windy narrow road. Have an experienced driver get you up there. Take 10 all the way until you see the only stop light then hang a right. Don't follow all the GPS directions. Just call them.

I truly believe things happen for a reason. It rained a little bit for the first 2 days we got to Puerto Rico. I emailed Fernando to find out what happens if it rained the day of our tour but never heard back. We make our 1 hour 20 min drive from San Juan to Utuado. Arrived on time (8am) and waited for about 10 min in car since the doors weren't open yet. Someone approaches our car (Fernando) and tells us all of the tours were cancelled but I never received the messages. Good thing we drove that far because he was so kind enough to still take us cave tubing! We couldn't do the full experience but we were so excited and thankful! It was just me, my husband and Fernando the entire time going through the river and cave. SOOOO AMAZINGLY SERENE, PEACEFUL, QUIET AND BEAUTIFUL!!!!! A once in a lifetime experience. He said it's usually a bunch of other tour companies and over 50 people out. Thank GOD this happened they way it did! Thank you so much Fernando!! You're the best!!!!!

We did this on our 2nd last day in PR, and the AMAZING Customer Service from Fernando was a welcome change right off the bat. Communication: A+ , responded to Emails quickly, answered questions perfectly. Speaks English fluently, and has a great personality. I believe our other guide was Eduardo, who was equally informative regarding the geological formations, animals and local flora. We learned a lot, and I enjoyed seeing the more rural mountain homes and getting a chance to taste fresh oranges off the tree we passed. We did the Tubing / Caving / Hiking Option #3, and it was PERFECT. The Tubing in the caves was unique, and there was no fear or grossness that you MIGHT be concerned about before signing up. The water was chilly but completely doable. The Caves were interesting, we saw a creepy spider-like creature and bats, but still felt safe. Lots of fossils too. I Love hiking, and this was a mildly strenuous hike IMO. I could see it being challenging for those who are out of shape or have never walked 5 miles in a row. That being said, the guides will help you and support you getting through it. They have a real genuine connection to the nature around them, and make this small group excursion seem like an outing with friends. The scenery in the rainforest hike is unbelievable. I loved it, and the pace was perfect. Lunch afterwards was a treat (love local cuisine!) and they had a cute kitty on the premise that we got to play with as well. They even let my wife take a crystal home from their shop. Overall, I can't imagine a better Hiking Excursion. Be sure to add 15 minutes to the 'drive estimate' - the Route #111 Drive is Fun, twisty and cool to drive but slow ish at points. Bring Vibrams or Watershoes. You can in theory get by with just a water bottle and a 'pocket' of snacks, instead of a bookbag like we brought.

None of us had ever gone on such an adventure. We had a blast! the weather was perfect!!! Our guides Fernando & BJ were the best. After we were given equipment and a brief description of the area on a map, we took off on a short van ride to start hiking. Fernando pointed out plants along the way. We enjoyed watching some do the repelling, then we did the cave tubing (FUN), drank from spring waters, jumped off of mountains into river, got wet under waterfalls and hiked back up the mountain. Loved it!!! Fernando is passionate of his heritage and his island and it shows. It was great being one with nature. Would positively recommend them. Hint - river water is cold so wear a wet-suit if you get cold easily...like me. LOL

First off, thank you so much to Fernando and BJ and family for the amazing experience!! We met them just up the road, and followed them to park at their beautiful mountain farm. Here we got geared up and checked out the cows, chickens, pigs, peacocks, and all of the organic vegetables you could think of. They also have a clean bathroom facility right there for everyone to use also. As we set off down the road in their awesome gen1 Toyota 4runner, they apologized and let us know that the cave was partially blocked due to debris. They offered to do some rappelling before to make up for this. We loved this idea, and had a great time learning how to rappel on our way down to the river. None of us had ever done this before, so it was a great surprise! The trail can be a bit muddy and steep in parts, but Fernando and BJ were always right there to provide a hand to grab onto, and made the trek fun and educational. We were still able to make it about 90% of the way up into the cave, and back down. We were then able to jump off some rocks into the beautiful clear river. A quick 4x4 ride in their truck back up to the farm, where an authentic meal was just being pulled off of the wood fire. We requested a vegetarian meal due to some dietary requirements in our party. The food was AMAZING. Best meal of the vacation. They also had home made iced tea, which is better than anything I have ever tasted. Being welcomed into their home was unforgettable and we will cherish the memory forever. Next time we come to Puerto Rico, we are definitely going on another adventure with Tanama River Adventures!!!

For sure go here! We did the hiking and tubing tour and loved every second. The tour guide was the best we have ever had for any tour. He had so much knowledge and was just an amazing individual. He was the main person to clear the entire trail and caves for the tours after the hurricane. I highly recommend using this company over any other. Beautiful hike and cave! Also had opportunity to jump off some rocks into the river. Best thing we did in PR!

Omar was our main tour guide and Fernando helped with the repelling. Both were very knowledgeable with facts about the rainforest and the activities we planned. We did tour #5 and it was amazing. Omar was very polite and helpful. I would recommend doing this tour.

What an amazing adventure. Life changing to be in the land of my taino forefathers and get to experience the river, caves, the fossils, crystals, butterflies, waterfalls and plants. Our guide Kevin was amazing and all of us loved it. The hiking and everything was perfect!

I can't give them enough stars! This was my absolute favorite part of our trip to Puerto Rico and was definitely due to the knowledge, passion, and professionalism of Fernando and the other guides on this tour. You could tell that they love the land and the history and culture of the Taino people. I even went and bought a book about the Taino people after visiting so that I could learn more about them. Safety was an absolute priority during every step of the tour and I never felt at risk. It was so nice to learn about the plants, geography and history of the area as well. I will definitely book with them whenever I am in Puerto Rico!

Honestly this has been the best experience so far i am very happy we did this tour. I have never meet someone so passionate about their work more than Fernando. He makes this experience so much better. I strongly recommend you doing this tour with him. Also make sure you have some good grip shoes. Very slippery and make sure you know this is a hike. OMG! What fun this was. The tour guides Fernando and BJ are AWESOME! They are both friendly, fun and knowledgeable, we felt safe with them the entire time. We went tubing in the river and did some cave repelling. I have not done either and I will do both again in a heartbeat! The cave was amazing, we even experienced some bats, and did not get eaten up by mosquitos since these bats eat mosquitos, who knew! After our "adventures" we were greeted by Fernando and BJ's family. They cooked an authentic fully organic (grown on their farm) Puerto Rican meal and welcomed us into their home. I cannot have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend!

Great customer service my husband lost his phone in the water and the tour and the tour guide helped us find his phone.

I can't say enough about this place!!! We did option number two and it was amazing! The only bummed part is we didn't get to cliff jump and we were suppose to but other then that the guides were amazing, told us about plants and wildlife, and the views were just what paradise is all about! I would recommend anyone looking for an adventure to do this! The food at the end was amazing! Thank you Tanama River Adventures and Fernando for having this for people to experience!! I loved every minute of this.... you guys are so kind and great and I can go on and on....

Durng my last trip to Puerto Rico my family decided to do some adventuring. Tanama River Adventure came highly reviewed so we gave it a chance. It was a little hard to find, but once we did it was great. We had a few people in the crew that had some injuries or health issues that made the trek very hard and slow, but the staff was outright amazing! They helped us the whole way even making sure my mom had a steady food the entire way to the river. When we got to the end the guide showed us some natural clay rocks which they everyone proceeded to cover them selves in. the bat cave is truly beautiful and very peaceful. i would definitely come back.

FIVE OUT OF FIVE! What you need to know: The Shop: This is where your adventure begins and ends. It is clean, comfortable, easy to find and full of knick knacks, relics and culturally significant items. A perfect setting to prepare you for your trek and to relax at after the adventure. The Adventure: From start to finish this was an absolute pleasure. We completed the most in-depth tour, Tour #5, and I cannot imagine anything coming close. It was breathtaking in both views (natural springs, caves, mountainsides) to take your breath away moments like the 250 foot repel or the 30 foot free dive. Words simply cannot do justice to this beautiful landscape and the magnificent ecosystem that opens itself up to willing eyes. Be bold, be brave and do Tour #5! From waterfalls to cave diving to clay mud baths to picking fresh fruit off the trees, it is majestic in every way. The Guides: I have saved the best for last. Our primary guide was Omar and he was AMAZING. He explains this epic journey in great detail and depth that is surprisingly refreshing. Moreover he joins in on the adventure whole heartedly and seems to really care about the great Puerto Rican territory. I felt that we truly connected with him and that in time, if I were to live in PR, he would be a good friend to have. His guide partner Fernando was only present for the repel, but was equally as charming and intelligent in our brief encounter with him. These two guys, an in particular Omar, made this experience a highlight of not just Puerto Rico, but my entire world travels. The end could not have been better as Omar sat with us over a Puerto Rican meal at a nearby restaurant in the mountainside. From start to finish, this was perfect. No complaints. Primary recommendation is to do Tour #5. 5/5, a must!

This was the best tour ever! I highly recommend it. Our tour guide Alex was very knowledgeable and professional. He made us feel extremely safe throughout the tour. It was a great experience and very fun.

Our party of 5 chose option one (the hike & cave tubing) and we had such an amazing time. We spent most of our time with Chico and had a blast! He was so knowledgeable and helpful! The views are amazing and unlike any other. Would definitely recommend this!!!

I went here with my cousin on April 3, 2016 . We chose option 3. This was one of my favorite things i did in Puerto Rico. I was staying in Rio Grande, we rented a car and drive 2hrs, but was completely worth it. The drive up there was beautiful . The repelling was fun . You get to jump off a little cliff, theres so much more. Our tour guides were amazing. The price was great. And they fed us a delicious home style cooked meal. I highly recommend this.

This experience was amazing! Our guides Omar and Alex were very friendly and knowledgeable about the jungle we were exploring. They made us feel safe, as well as getting a little education throughout the 5 mile hike. We did the repelling, cave tubes and the $10 extra hike that was well worth the little bit of extra money. To top it off, they fed us soncocho at a home of the person that owns all the land in the area. It was a very humbling and memorable experience that I'll never forget.

This was an amazing experience. We called the morning of the day we wanted to go and the staff was soooo. Nice, he offered us a 2pm slot and a $10 discount for our group of 5. There were very prompt when we got there and didn't make us wait around. The tubing was amazing. First i was skeptical when my friend booked it, I thought we'd just be floating down a river but it was so much more. We hiked, went through an amazing cave, swam, jumped of cliffs, explored caves, and drank water from a natural spring! The tour guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. We didn't get option 2 with lunch because I didn't wNt to spend an extra $20 for a sandwich, well I wish I did because it was so much more then a sandwich. We saw the group before us eating lunch and it was a ful course Puerto Rico meal! Get option #2!. There is a bathroom there when u first arrive. Def bring a change of clothes and a towel to have back in your car. You will get very very wet. I recommend wearing spandexy type clothes no cotton or jeans, we weren't very prepared. Wear sun block for sure! Highly recommended this tour.

These guys are AMAZING!! The customer service is top notch. They are a wealth of information and sooooooo nice. I enjoyed the tour (I did option 1) and how Omar stopped along the way and gave information about the environment (trees, plants, etc). I learned so much and had an amazing time!! Thank you for a great day!

We had s great time! Edgardo was very knowledgable and passionate and did a great job as our guide. We had a small group of six and everyone had a fantastic time. Fernando and BJ were very friendly. I liked the fact that they place safety above everything. You must wear your helmet and life vest at all times. We hiked, repeled, jumped off a cliff into the water, and tubed in the caves. All are doable if your are mildly in shape and agile. The lunch was delicious. This would be s great team building activity. I highly recommend this outfit.

This was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. Wonderful views . My boyfriend and I did the rappelling off the cave and it was mind blowing. The tour guide had alot of knowledge to share. Made the tour awesome. The food served at the end by his wife was awesome. A must see place. You will never forget this place.

Wow! What a fantastic experience. We did option 2. Our guides were BJ and Javi. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, and paid great attention so everyone stayed together and followed safety instructions. I am a local residing in the US; and I did not know that PR had such treasures hiding in the mountains. My family and I learned about the Monarch Butterfly season near the river, about botany, and Chagaras, the freshwater shrimps. Tubing under a canopy of caverns was like being in another world!! Such beauty! My 12 year old, (video gamer) totally forgot about his computer and was totally immersed in the adventure. I would recommend bringing small snacks and some water that fit in a small backpack, in option 2 we passed by springs that we could drink from so bringing a large amount of water was not necessary. We were not rushed, so we had plenty of time to swim, jump from the cliffs and take pictures. One guy in our group proposed to his girlfriend with a waterfall as a back drop AWESOME!! We wore tennis shoes which worked good. The company provided lunch when we got back and it was delicious! We would recommend this adventure to anyone looking for a unique experience while visiting PR.

The worst part of our trip to Puerto Rico. Don't waste your time. The first problem is that his place is very hard to find. We had a reservation for 13:00 in the afternoon. So we spent the morning driving there from San Juan. Driving there was the best part of the trip. The roads that lead back to the place are beautiful, hilly and very winding. Intersections and junctions have no indications about which way to go to get to this place. When we called to say that we had missed it and ask directions, the woman we spoke to said that she had no record of us having a reservation at all. My girlfriend checked the email confirmation, told her of whom she had spoken with and so the woman there put us down for 13:00 again. She also told us that a group of police officer had just left for their trip. This was at 11:00 She wasn't sure how to tell us how to get there. So after missing the turn several more times, we found it. Once there, We loved playing with the puppies and kittens while waiting for someone to show up and tell us what to do but it was frustrating. By 12:00, no one had show up to tell us what to do and so the woman who was there told us we might want to go and explore the indigenous park nearby because no one would be back until 13:30. We returned at 13:15 to wait and then finally at 14:00 the truck carrying several people back from the mornings trip drove up. We introduced ourselves to the driver Whose name was Roberto Bonilla. Roberto said that he had no reservation for us for the afternoon. So we pulled out the printed email confirmation he had sent to us. He looked at it and sure enough it was from him and it said 13:00. He just frowned and said "You should have called." He explained to us that it was late in the afternoon and that his trips were a minimum of seven hours long and there was no way to do it that late in the day. He told us that that the group he had just returned with had left at 07:00. Really? The young lady said this group left at 11:00 And they were back by 14:00. So where had the seven hours gone? My girlfriend kept trying to pin him down to a solid yes or no were we going to go or not? and he kept giving us lame excuses and dodging the question until she finally gave up and stormed back to the car. At that point I told Roberto what I thought of him and his operation. He just smiled and said I'm sorry. So off we drove to see Arecibo Observatory. That was cool! While I am sure that the river and the caves are beautiful and I would have loved to have seen them, $100.00 per person is way to much to ride and inner tube. Save you money and see the same things in Domincan Republic for much less
