A Guide to Puerto Rico's Hidden Natural Wonders
"The Tanamá River crosses three cities of Puerto Rico, including Utuado, where any adventurer can discover an array of unique ecological adventures with Tanamá River Adventures. Experiences inside the canyon include exploring waterfalls, diving, rappelling, climbing, body rafting, and hiking through the forest. Visitors can learn about the culture of the land from guides as they cross fields of coffee, banana, plantain, and orange plantations. Parts of the Tanamá take tubers underground through different types of caves. Not far from the Tanamá River, visitors can find the Parque Ceremonial Indígena de Caguana, the largest Taíno archeological site in the Caribbean. The Caguana Indigenous Ceremonial Site offers insight into the Taíno lifestyle before the Spaniards arrived in Puerto Rico.
