I am a chef and I can tell you that this restaurant is really good and delicious! The food was amazing! The server was very kind and sweet! His name is Abijit, thank you Abijit for his sweetness and kindness! We will be back with our friends!

Google
One the best places for indian and nepalese food in fairfax. Closer to George Mason University as well.

Chita Luong

Google
This place is a hidden gem! Everything is DELICIOUS. They have a lot of vegetarian options. I got the kadai paneer and veggie momo. I also shared the bread basket... SO GOOD!!! (I'm sorry I only got a Pic of the Naan because we ate everything)

Lokesh Merupula

Google
Good Nepali food and good service. Most of the restaurant is partitioned to be used as a party hall and feels like a take out place in the dining area. We loved that tandoori, Momo's and curries. The Samosa chat was delicious. If you like indian food but prefer the milder version of curries and biryanis, this is the restaurant for you Service was great and the staff was very friendly.

As a chef, I chose this place for dinner with my girlfriend. The food is incredible and the prices are very reasonable. And my special thanks to the chefs and Mr. Abijit who takes care of the service. He is very attentive, respectful, and cheerful. It is definitely a location you can choose for your meals with your loved ones.

Google
I placed an order online and it was canceled, ok, computer issue is what I thought, so I go to the restaurant to place an order I'm standing in the doorway and the lady looks right past me and acknowledged the family behind me. I have to tell her I've been standing here waiting. So I inquire about the online order and wanted to place an order to go, once again she ignored me and started helping others! Then as another server walks past me again I try to grab his attention and he ignored me! I don't know if it was, however, I guess it's because I didn't look like their patrons! Disgusting behavior!

Google
Tandoori restaurant and party place is one of the best restaurants and party halls in dmv area. I booked this party hall for my daughter’s weaning ceremony party and I must say my experience was beyond expectations. The foods were mouth watering even at looking at the trays, tasted amazingly delicious 🤤 Very efficient and polite staffs, who were available through out the party whenever we needed them. I recommend this restaurant for any kind of gatherings. They have huge space with a stage and dance floor, which I loved so much. We would like to thank Tandoori Fairfax for their phenomenal service and delicious foods.

Google
The food here is delicious! I get takeout from here all the time, and when I come for a sit down meal, the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend coming here if you’re looking for a good Indian restaurant in Fairfax!

Yelp
Amazing authentic Indian food. I will be returning! The butter chicken and garlic naan was fantastic

Jacob H.

Yelp
The food is excellent at Tandoori. I arrived and shared a salad and naan appetizer with a friend. Both items were fresh and tasty. Our server was attentive and answered all questions about the food. I ordered kadai paneer, which had the spice and peppers I enjoy. Note there is an event space attached to the restaurant, and it includes a bar. It's a bit dated, but quite large. Use it if you prefer fantastic Indian/Nepali food and don't mind plain decor.

H B.

Yelp
I've only had a few items from Tandoori Fairfax, but their momos are pretty good. I got a few packed for my family yesterday, and they all liked them also. They were having a private event in the main dining area, but that didn't seem to slow the kitchen down at all. My order was prepared quickly.

Jessica S.

Yelp
Went for lunch and ordered the butter chicken, steamed chicken momos, garlic naan, and mango lassis. Food was great. Hit the spot for what I was looking for. Service was great, very kind people. Front dining area is cozy. Bathroom was very clean.

Tony H.

Yelp
I try to broaden my culinary experiences and Tandoori makes it happen. Great food, great service, and a very authentic feel. This is a popular place among the Indian crowd as witnessed by the weddings and birthdays being celebrated here. Give it a try.

Kyndra S.

Yelp
On a cold winters night, delivery from Tandoori is all you need. From perfectly crispy samosas, fresh naan, and whatever else, everything else has been great! My husband had lamb saag and I had mutter paneer. The saag is incredibly fresh and light, and focuses on the spinach. The paneer is perfectly cooked, and the rest of the dish is well balanced. Food has always been made accurately and delivered quickly.

Yelp
No lunch buffet despite many places advertising one....need to update social media as well

Terence C.

Yelp
I went to this restaurant this year found it on google and it was pleasant surprise food was really good ans the service was great servers are super nice and the portion sizes were great we ate a lot here and I don't regret spending my hard earned money here

Jimmy M.

Yelp
Food is hit or miss..sometimes the chicken in the butter chicken seems stale..other times it's seems freshly made.

Chris D.

Yelp
I noticed this place the other day after driving by a few times. My family loves Nepali food so I stopped in to try it. I had the chicken momo which were excellent. The sauce had a nice bit of spice and was yummy. I also had the Wai Wai Sadeko which was crunchy, flavorful and a bit spicy. The owner came out to say hello which was very nice and the waitress was polite and knowledgeable. The menu had a lot of good stuff on it so I will be back.

Desi W.

Yelp
I'm not a Indian food expert but it was really good to me ! Found this place on yelp on the humble and decided to give it a shot. Samosas were good and the food was ready promptly. I used the yelp order service.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
The food here is ALWAYS amazing. I tried the honey butter chicken and its probably one of the best things ive ever tasted. The service was super nice and friendly. This could very well be one of the best Indian food spots in NOVA. They normally have alot of people getting take out but nothing beats sitting down and enjoying food freshly as it comes out. Ive also gotten take out from them multiple times and each time its consistently good! Seating area is smaller if you come for dinner! Love this place 10/10 recommend.

Lovely W.

Yelp
Flavorful meat with Indian spices! We enjoyed wine and Chicken Momo for appetizers. For dinner we enjoyed lamb curry and lamb with spinach. The garlic naan is fluffy and tasty! Try Tandoori Nights you will love it!

Marylou V.

Yelp
I have only tried this place once, so take this with a grain of salt. I ordered the butter chicken, which was pretty tasty. However, the portions are tiny. It's only good for two servings (1 if you're really hungry). The naan was both burnt and soggy at the same time. My experience might have been different if I dined in. I ordered online through the website, and did not experience any delays. I'd consider coming back if I'm in the area to give it another chance. I'm not going to do takeout again though, because of the portion sizes.

Lorrie B.

Yelp
Love, love, love the food!! I tried other restaurants when they're closed on Mondays, and was disappointed every time. I just have to wait until Tuesday to eat Indian! Every dish I've tried was great! I just wish they had Goat Palak.

Valentina D.

Yelp
$10 for an Indian lunch buffet is a good deal! And there's plenty of options to choose from (at least 15, probably more like 20). I've been here twice, and it seems like they rotate the dishes they offer too. I am a huge fan of the naan bread they bring to your table - so delicious and freshly made! They also had veggie pokoda (basically deep fried zucchini fritters) that were really delicious. There were a lot of yummy options that you would expect to find at an Indian buffet (curries and sauces), and even though I don't consider myself to be much of an Indian food person, I found plenty to enjoy. They even offer salad and a dessert option as part of the buffet!

Christine B.

Yelp
This place is a go-to for our butter chicken craving! Love the garlic naan and samosas too! Took away 1 star because of the price and pick up/carry out service; my rating would be closer to 3.5 stars. The past couple of times I ordered online for pick up, no one was at the front when I entered. I had to wait for a while... and one time even had to peek in the kitchen to see if I could get someone's attention... so not the greatest experience there, but went back for the food.

Jane B.

Yelp
This is one of my go to lunch spots in the area. They have a little buffet station that gets changed up everyday. They've recently bumped up the buffet by a dollar but it's still worth it. On the side, there is a complementary green tea table, which oddly enough pairs very well with the different spices.

Yelp
l'm there for the haluwa. Creamy, toffee, coffee, and caramel are the flavors that are foodgasming in my mouth when I enjoy my haluwa, an authentic Nepali dessert original. Think if Haagen Daz coffee ice cream made a warm pudding that's haluwa, the bees knees. Tandoori Nights is an established restaurant chain that serves the DMV; there's one in Annandale, Bethesda, Gaithersburg, and now they have one here, in Fairfax City. Located to the right of the Safeway along Old Lee Highway, Tandoori Nights has an all you can eat buffet everyday for only 8.99 11 AM - 3 PM. Kids eat free, up to 5 years old, over 5 to 10 year olds eat half price :D Great place to bring friends and family, obviously if you want to introduce your kid or kids to fine Indian/Nepali cuisine. They have a full service bar and their bartenders are great; I was there the other night and Alex and Tommy were holding down the fort while there was a special banquet party and would not let the guy with a "digital ID" grab an IPA. Lol, they know what they're doing. 20 drafts on tap, including Graffiti House, New Belgium Ranger IPA, DC Brau, Summer Shandy, Sam Adams Summer Ale, Golden Ox, and Blood Line Flying Dog.

Yelp
It was our 1st time at tandoori nights We were very happy with our multiple orders. My wife and I had Marinated chickpeas, Chicken tikka masala and and lamb chops.. We also had an appetizer, Which was delicious. A very nice young waitress Provided excellent service. We will be back.

Erik H.

Yelp
Excellent Indian. Three dishes all well done and nicely seasoned--Channa, Dahl Makan, chicken tandoori. Bread is plentiful and expertly made. Perfect rice. Highly recommended for COVID delivery to keep your belly happy.

Aastha U.

Yelp
Their jhol momo is amazing! The jhol, or the soup/achaar part, is deliciously flavorful. Spicy and just sour enough. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Mal S.

Yelp
On a chance night the managers here don't actually know the difference between korma (cashew based) and butter chicken (tomato based) curries. Further, if you place an order via the Yelp website, you'll find that deep in the hidden contractual agreement Tandoori Nights is not liable to refund you or replace your order. I spent about $93 for appetizers and 3 kormas (pre-delivery fee). I received appetizers and 3 butter chickens: there was absolutely nothing I could do to get my incorrect order rectified or refunded. Tandoori nights: not what it used to be over a decade ago in Fairfax. Beware; call first. Ask the manager what korma is (or what ingredients are in your favorite curry). There's no excuse for creative license; after calling to poll 4 other business, I can earnestly state every other Indian restaurant in Fairfax agrees that korma is cashew based, not tomato based. Then there's Tandoori Nights... In sum I lost a $93 wager on that risk I took when I placed an order for 3 kormas and received butter chicken instead. They happily took my money, my time (Talking with delivery support and the restaurant in repetition) and most of all, my appetite. I argued up and down the chain with the management of this restaurant that korma is not tomato based, and yet Tandoori Nights insists it is. Literally ....what? After all that stress just to get a meal, instead of watching "Welcome to Willets" and enjoying a luxury take out on a lazy Sunday I hit the treadmill. Hard. Instead. If that's what you're looking for, use that cash to join the gym; your money, your time, your plans, and adrenaline will better be much better spent.

Yelp
Loved the goat curries. The meat was very tender and was just awesome. The place is pretty big. There was a party going on when we stepped in for dinner. The servers were professional and nice. Food- 4.7/5 Service - 4.7/5 Ambiance - 4.5/5

John P.

Yelp
We're fans of Tandoori Nights in Bethesda (and Gaithersburg). Last night we went to a show at GMU's Center for the Arts and were looking for a restaurant in Fairfax to take our daughter and her two friends before the show. I found Tandoori Nights Fairfax and thought the girls would like it, so we made a reservation. We're off to a good start for a fun night. Unfortunately, Tandoori Nights Fairfax let us down. First things first: Tandoori Nights Fairfax is not Tandoori Nights in Bethesda. I don't know if there is any connection. I certainly hoped so, but wow, was I mistaken. First off, when we pulled into the parking lot we found ourselves at a large strip mall. I should have called an audible and found another restaurant, but everyone shrugged off the exterior with the expectation of good food. When we got to the door, we learned the restaurant was closed for a private party, but would seat us in a weird fish bowl front room. I would have thought this would be an important bit of information to give customers when the make a reservation. But that didn't happen. From there it was all downhill: torn tablecloth, dirty floor, bent silverware, mishmash of TVs making noise, waitresses who struggled to do the basics, and food that was unappetizing. It was such a disappointment. Am giving them two stars because I'm hoping it was an off night for them; but really, to not tell us the dining room was booked for a party? Don't be greedy. Focus on the party and don't take other diners. But more troubling was the food was not good. All can be forgiven with sublime food. But yours was not. Such a disappointment and an embarrassment for us as we were entertaining friends.

Rachel A.

Yelp
Ordered butter chicken, pakora, aloo gobi, chicken momos, garlic naan, regular naan and rice thru grub hub. Asked for everything to be made mild. My order was perfectly filled and the food was piping hot. Their mild is still a bit hotter than I'm used to in NOVA, but the flavors and spices were amazing. I'll definitely order from them again.

Lauren G.

Yelp
No atmosphere, cheap but good variety of buffet food. The food temperature was Luke warm at best but essentially cold. Inside is dark and gloomy but our server was nice. I wasn't a huge fam of this experience but you can get the lunch buffet for $10 which is a really good deal to try everything. I typically love butter chicken but this one was just okay. I think I would have been much more impressed if the food was actually hot or warm when I got it. I did like the naan we received it was warm but definitely not the best I've had. Long story short I do not think I would go back. 2.5 stars but rounding up.

Victoria N.

Yelp
Definitely worth a trip during their lunch buffet hours. Fellow Yelp elite Lauren and I get together for lunch and found a buffet with 10+ menu items, ranging from salad, soup, rice pudding, butter chicken and other various dishes. Everything was pretty good, but just wish the pakora was hot and crispy; however I know you can't expect pakora sitting on a burner to stay hot and crunch forever. Service was fast and the lassi was so good. What stung was that a glass of lassi was half the lunch buffet, but hey that's a testament to how inexpensive the buffet was. More people came as we were dining so it gets a lot of good traffic!

Rummy M.

Yelp
I have heard about this place in a festival as they catered their butter chicken and chana masala, apparently, the location in Fairfax is much better and different than the one in Bethesda! During this whole devastating government shutdown they even provided government workers with free lunch buffet. The amount of food provided is a lot and delicious! From naan, cauliflower, okra, butter chicken, goat, rice, chana and more! The service is great, food is amazing, restaurant is clean and it seems like they always have a great amount of deals which is captivating to customers! Will definently be back!

Jahn A.

Yelp
High expectations due to positive reviews; quite turned off instead. Ordered two orders of lamb vindaloo, one matter paneer, and an order of samosas for carryout. Food was just coming ready upon arrival so that was a good start, no waiting. Arrived home (live within 2 miles of restaurant) and opened food to find the matter paneer to be too oily. Tasted above average for the dish, but way too unhealthy. The two vindaloo's were literally swimming in oil. I proceeded to spoon 6 soup spoons of pure oil off of the top of each order and set them aside to dig in to our samosas. Upon handling the samosas, our hands were immediately made slick with oil and the filling was oil soaked as well -- frying temperature too low would be my first guess. After the samosas, back to the vindaloo. After sitting for about five minutes, the oil was back on top of the food. Spooned another two soup spoons of oil off the top of each container and dug in to the food. Taste was okay, spice level was sadly lacking (vindaloo is supposed to be a fiery dish, this was about the same heat level as a Chic-Fil-A Spicy chicken sandwich. I asked for the dish to be extra spicy but wasn't expecting much as the menu stated "heat level cannot be changed." Mistake, big mistake. A restaurant should cater to their guests, not take guests for granted. If a guest wants the food they are paying for to be a certain way, then should honor the requests or their first time customers will never morph into repeat guests (the holy grail for restaurants in suburban settings). Overall, underwhelming and disappointing. They can't use the excuse of being too busy either, there were three diners in the restaurant, and one other carry-out order when I arrived to pick-up the food. Hopefully, for their sake, they will correct these errors or they will be on Yelp's "permanently closed" list sooner rather than later. Wish them well, but I'll never know. Don't see any reason to return when there are two other established Indian restaurants very close by that offer higher quality dishes.

Lulu D.

Yelp
All you can eat lunch buffet for the win! Amazing price for a Sunday buffet and an awesome selection that the whole family loved including my husband (who's crazy about spices though the food wasn't super spicy) and my 15 month old. Service was also really friendly especially for a buffet and the manager even got us an extra plate of Marsala since my baby ate all of mine :) FYI if you order Rice pudding you will get a giant bowl. We will definitely be back!

Jim G.

Yelp
Really enjoyed their lunch buffet with my kids. Unique concept for sure and very large space. Buffet highlights included goat curry, butter chicken and spinach dish that was unique and delicious. Warm naan bread brought to table. The bar is pretty separate from the dining area, I would recommend for kids (plenty of non-spicy options if that's an issue): We will be back.

Latourunwa C.

Yelp
This place is fantastic their Buffett is amazing for a great price. The service their is outstanding. I love the goat meat butter chicken and rice. I plan to come back one night to check it out with my husband.

Shankster E.

Yelp
Great environment and staff. Performances on stage, check their schedule. Food is perfect and authentic Nepali food!

Lloyd B.

Yelp
Worthwhile to try if you like Indian food. So far, I tried dinner and buffet. Was told buffet offerings change daily. Friendly waitstaff. I didn't take note of all the names but today they had lentils, zucchini, vegetable pakora, vegetable korma, butter chicken, tandoori? chicken, chicken biryani, goat curry?, mushroom something, rice, salad, fruit, naan, and dessert.

Vinay P.

Yelp
I am not sure how there can be any good review about the buffet. I went there today with my wife and was impressed with the spread of food but that did not last long after I took the plate. The food was not warm enough and did not taste good at all. Therapy of the goat curry was not well cooked and the chicken tandoori was stale and flavorless. The butter chicken was just ok and missing the taste. The nan served was not soft and tender, instead they were crispy. Vegetarian options were blend as well, except for the eggplant and zucchini curry which was the only thing which had a good taste. We had great expectations but were disappointed and won't be going back again!

Paul Y.

Yelp
Seriously can't beat the value for the lunch buffet at Tandoori Nights! They revolve some menu items, but my wife and I find most all the dishes to be delicious. The okra is our favorite and we wish they would have it out every day!!! Staff are super friendly and helpful, and they've got amazing deals through Facebook so definitely go check it out.

Kianna U.

Yelp
Okay disclaimer here... I have only had Indian style food one other time at a small place in Colorado and it was TERRIBLE. That was years ago and I finally just got the courage to try this type of food again. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised! It was delicious! Obviously I'm no professional Indian food critic. I really have no other Indian restaurants to compare it to other then one that made me sick but I am a foodie and can compare it to other foods in general and I would 100% come back again. To begin with we got these wheat/cumin chips with two dipping sauces complimentary. The reddish brown dipping sauce was AMAZING like... just give me a gallon to I can drown all my food in it! I asked what it was but couldn't really understand the waiter so if you know I would be very thankful for the information! Then we tried chicken choila... this is the one thing I didn't LOVE... it was good, but a bit too salty for my liking. However again... idk if this is normal for the dish. For mains we got shrimp vindaloo and veggie Biryani. I love spicy. I mean I get "thia spicey" at thia restaurants and then add more spices and more then one waiter has been shocked at my tolerance for heat. After reading some of the comments on here about not being spicey I was worried it would underperform at the spice factor even tho I ordered an item with 2 pepper symbols. Alas again I was pleasantly surprised. Lots of flavor and a good kick in the vindaloo. Definitely recommend, the eating area it a bit big and awkward for a group of two like us but foot is worth it.

Shekiba A.

Yelp
We were at Tandoori Nights in Fairfax today and had the most memorable experience . The staff were friendly and professional, the restaurant was beautiful and clean. And most of all the food was incredibly delicious. Quality of food was number one. We have been to most restaurants in VA and DC but have never had this great experience before. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone if you haven't tried. Mr and Mrs Lama thank you so much for your hospitality and great service.

Susan J.

Yelp
Thank you for the free lunch buffet to federal employees during the temporary shutdown! It usually is $9.99 so still an incredibly great deal. My best friend and I were able to enjoy a very tasty lunch for free (but we left a 25 % tip). We arrived shortly after 11am and asked if the offer of the free lunch was in effect. The staffer said yes and all we need to show was our IDs. We were seated to a comfortable booth and were welcomed to the buffet table. No paper or Styrofoam plates here, but nice rounded rectangular plates. There was the typical salad greens which we skipped, but I saw basmati rice, chicken soup, green beans with potatoes, lentils, butter chicken, goat curry, tandoori chicken, zucchini and maybe another item or 2. The green beans were really tender and tasty, as was the butter chicken. But the tandoori chicken was probably one of the best I've had; super tender and flavorful and no bone shards! The naan bread was also super hot and fresh out of the kitchen and slathered with melted ghee! The servers were also super attentive and provided ample water refills. Will I come back to this place? The answer is a solid yes!

Tony M.

Yelp
Not only was it extremely generous of this place to open its doors to furloughed federal employees for a free, no strings attached lunch buffet, but the food was also delicious! I'll pay to come back when this shutdown ends. Very much appreciated!

Stephen T.

Yelp
I want to the lunch buffet and it was very delicious. It also had goat on the lunch buffet.

Minu I.

Yelp
This my second time. Usually I give second chance for all the restaurants. Horrible food. We asked for appetizer in the buffet but no appetizer. Chicken curry with bone was very soupy.stale palak panner with bad smell. No good dessert. Over all disgusting. Will never recommend any one

Mark R.

Yelp
I really liked this place the first time. The curry was nice; not super creamy. A bit more watery. Nice. Unfortunately, my experience tonight will prevent me from returning. I ordered online Friday night. The online system quoted me a 20 minute pickup time. I showed up half an hour later and not only was my food not ready, they'd never even heard of me. They informed me that their online system was down. However, they were able to go in the back and grab several online order printouts. The host apologized and said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I informed her that I would leave and come back. I came back 15 minutes later and my food was still not ready. When I asked how much longer this would take the host replied, "10 minutes". When I informed her that I was told "10 minutes", 15 minutes ago, the host told me it was a little longer for tandoori chicken... I hadn't ordered tandoori chicken, nor had I ordered anything they quoted from my order. Apparently someone else with my name ordered online as well, coincidentally had the same problem as me and they were remedying this issue instead of mine. I ultimately took 30 or so minutes out of my night trying to give Tandoori Nights some money. They couldn't figure out how to make that happen. I won't give them another chance.

Uddav U.

Yelp
Great costumer service. Good and friendly servers. Good food. Good atmosphere. All Gs ...

Silver M.

Yelp
Went there for dinner after a colleague recommended this place. The place had the best MoMo I've had in this area. We had the C fried Momo and they were delicious. Would definitely go back there to try other options. The server was very polite and helpful.

Richelle S.

Yelp
This place as many options from several regions of India. The portions are large and the food tastes great. Butter Chicken is the go to but my favorite is their noodles with Indian spices. Their naan is always soft and delicious. Delivery is always quick and we have been lucky enough to never of had an issue with the order. Definitely a great place for lunch or dinner. Try their pa

Anil K.

Yelp
Great Service & Food. Momo was really good. Had a chance to talk to the owner and friendly team. Highly Recommend.

Frank T.

Yelp
The food was very good. It was ready when we arrived to pick it up. We were about 10 minutes early. We will definitely be going there again.
