The holy grail of pubs is the spot where friendly strangers chat at an L-shaped bar, with high quality complex cocktails and delicious food. Here it is!! We stumbled on this place while househunting, and being here made us yearn for this neighborhood. Must have: garlic puffs. I have no deficits to report. A+++++ Editing to add more. Now we have been here lots! Ordered the fried chicken sandwich. Chicken was a little over-fried (dark). Pickles and caramelized onions and dressing made it juicy and tangy. It’s also massive, so way more than one person could eat.

Visited late last year but quite a nice restaurant and I was lucky enough to get a sour style beer I enjoyed along with some decent pizza that I took home all for a fair price. The cost will all come down to how many drinks you're getting though. Service was also quite nice and pretty attentive, along with being willing to ask about the aforementioned sours. Outdoor seating isn't anything special but comfortable enough to sit around and chat with friends, worth a visit if you're within walking distance for sure.

Ok, I forgot to photo their classic dish, the one that’s recommended, the one that my friend threw out. I liked it, it was interesting - basically a pizza for breakfast with sausage and egg on top. Sadly, the egg whites were not cooked and it was a cheesy mess. Perfect for me on a rainy Saturday but my friend, not so much. The bartender was awesome and a great conversationalist. He took excellent care of other patrons by changing the channel on the tv without pause, chatting folks up, and doing bartender things with a smile. The location is so good I’m gonna go back and try something else and hang out. I hope this review helps someone.

Google
Super fun little place. Had a great grinder with really soft bread. They have chicken strips and fries that aren't on the menu but great for kids. Oh, by the way, they have Russian River beers on tap, including Pliney the Elder on tap! Great neighborhood spot, really funky menu but everything was tasty.

Google
The flavor combos where amazing! A must try. Amazing service too (even though it was busy). I only gave 4 stars on atmosphere because there were several crying children in what I would consider to be the "bar section" of the restaurant (out of three distinct sections, the middle of the restaurant was empty and everyone back loaded near the bar). But maybe if you have kids that's a plus? And also, can't hate TangleTown for trying to make some cash. Great experience otherwise.

Google
I really really really want to like this place but sadly I am continuously disappointed . It’s in the neighborhood, and it always seems like there are people dining and has some nice ambiance on the patio. The food is meh. On par with what you would get at an airport pub. While the servers are kind they are not very attentive. I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they are understaffed. My partner and I multiple times were seated and it took 15+ minutes for anyone to give us a menu (even when it wasn’t busy). It took about 40 minutes from the time we sat down to the time we got our beers. I truly believe the place has a lot of potential but not worth a visit unless you live in the neighborhood and need something simple. Anyone who gives this a 5 or even 4 star- I truly wonder if we dined at the same restaurant.

Google
Solid choice if you’re looking for pizza! We got the margarita and Dave’s pizza (mushroom & sausage) and both were flavourful and filling. We also ordered the cauliflower appie which was perfect for sharing.

Google
Not that great. Service was flat, food tasted okay but pricey for what you get. Our dishes looked dirty, and the portions weren't what I'd expect for the price. Our fries looked like they were helves to fill another order. For a $16 hamburger I'd expect to have a big side of fries. Nope. The server seemed bored to be there and took a while to greet us and take an order. Not sure if he even knew the beers they had to offer. They boasted a happy hour on a sign out front, but don't tell you what it is inside or from the server. I don't think I'll come back. EDIT to owners comment below: Yes, this is the place we went. I contacted Elysian over the phone afterward eating here as the service was that bad. The canned reply they gave is what prompted this review. This review is accurate.

Yelp
This casual pub-like spot serves drinks, pizza, appetizers, wings, and cheese boats (kachapuri!). The Caprese ($15) was quite nice. We also got the Sausage Boat ($20), and OMG, it was a cheese lover's dream! Stuffed in fluffy baked dough were gooey, melty cheeses, along with creamy ricotta and savory sausage and a zesty-sweet tomato sauce. The staff was very polite and attentive. :)

Yelp
Oh man where do I even begin.... The food was incredible. I tried multiple items and here are my thoughts Garlic Puffs that everyone talks about was worth getting, it's kind of like the puffy version of mozzarella cheese sticks in a sense The roasted pork belly gochujang was SUPER DELICIOUS, great pairing with beer for sure Dave's Pizza was amazing, generous amount of toppings and pizza dough taste very fresh Do NOT sleep on the Fried Green Tomatoes caprese because that was by far the best food item on the menu for me Italian Meatball Cheese Boats was really good and cheesy, it was also my very first time eating cheese boats and I was satisfied. I also ordered the blueberry whiskey sour for my cocktail and it was a solid choice because I like my drinks fruity. Parking is very convenient around the blocks, free street parking The service is just like regular pubs so nothing above and beyond service The ambiance is much better than I would expect, they serve brunch on Friday-Sundays and it is kids friendly also. I'm definitely taking my family back because this is definitely a hidden gem in North Seattle.

Yelp
Great local restaurant. A good assortment of beer and food. The pizza and cheese boats are great!

Yelp
1st things 1st... Lusty Margarita. Been here twice! I got the Lusty Margarita and Mango Tango with Mimi's Coconut Prawn salad Friend had the Rice Soup of the Day and I wish I had got that too! They have brunch menu Friday-Sunday 10:30-2:30! Indoor seating and patio seating with good casual music. Also has dinner menu. Go check it out and support your local business.

Yelp
Delicious food and really cool spot right next to green lake. The cheese boat and the Korean flavored Chilean wings are amazing! The pizza is great too. Come check it out!

Yelp
I used to go sporadically to the Elysian Brewery that was at this location, but had never gone back after it had changed to the TangleTown Public House. I'm glad I finally made it! I met a couple of friends for dinner. Service was prompt and friendly (Leslie was a wonderful server), and we snagged a great spot outside. The beer selection was phenomenal; Leslie mentioned that one of the owners of TangleTown was also a founder of Elysian, and personally selected the beers on the menu. It really was a great set of beers. (FYI, I got the Russian River Pliny the Elder, but would've been happy with just about any other.) For my meal, I ordered the Coppa Cabana pizza. The pizza is made without the traditional marinara sauce, and was topped with roasted garlic and Zoe's coppa. Scrumptious! One of my friends got one of the cheese boats (the Avocado boat) and loved it, although she did mention it was loaded with carbs and cheese. She took half of it home! My other friend got the TangleTown Burger, and really liked it. I think I'll be back! Certainly a lot sooner than 4 years!!!

Yelp
First time going to this place!! The pizza was perfect for two! Service was great and definitely chill pub vibes. Overall can't wait to try more

Yelp
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant! Great food, and great service. Highly recommend their pizza!

Yelp
Great food, service and atmosphere! Ordered the butterhead lettuce with bacon, pumpkin seeds, red onion and blue cheese!! What??!! Who knew a salad could be so good??!!

Yelp
First time here and lemme tell ya I am a happy camper. With a big group so we just ordered a bit of everything to share, every dish was delish. The green curry pizza, holy shit, wow. Prompt and friendly staff and the best margarita I've ever had (I've had A LOT of margaritas so take this to heart).

Yelp
GREAT food, excellent beer selection, friendly service and a great atmosphere. I love that they have big windows they can open up when the weather is nice. The garlic puffs are to die for, my salad was excellent and I saw the cheese boats that are on the menu go by and they looked delicious. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Outstanding khachipuri, which is a boat shaped Georgian pizza. It is the perfect mix of a dollop of sweet tomato sauce, mozzarella, ricotta, sausage and spices on a beautiful stuffed cheesy crust. It's a hit. The pepperoni pizza was covered with a generous helping of cheese and pepperoni. The thin crust was chewy and crunchy in all the right places. The staff is professional and efficient.

Jon S.

Yelp
It's as good as you'd hope it would be. Maybe it was luck of the draw for me (and I usually try to be polite to waitstaff) but the service here is next level. It started raining outside and was immediately moved to an indoor seat. I was never left hanging on my water, soda, waiting on the bill or my card back - and they were getting SLAMMED on a Saturday during lunch rush. You should try this place at least once or twice while you're in Seattle.

Yelp
Nice staff and yummy cheese boats; there are kids here so pick your seat wisely. Nice little neighborhood place, give it a try. Wish it opened at 3:00 (instead of 4:00). Our server was great!

Valentina N.

Yelp
We ordered two drinks, a sandwich, a burger, and the sausage khachapuri - inspired cheese boat. The drinks were heavily iced cocktails that didn't taste like much; neither alcohol or fruity flavors came through. The sandwich was good, burger was nothing special, and the sausage cheese boat was just a pizza with areas of stuffed crust that was raw, marinara sauce that might as well have come from a can, and very salty sausage. Service was wonderful though!

Yelp
A great walkable spot on my neighborhood for a drink and a snack. They have an outdoor patio and serve a variety of drinks including beer and a few signature cocktails. I've had pizzas here before that were pretty good but this hummus platter was actually fantastic. I'll be back here plenty of times this summer I'm sure! Would stop by if you're in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Forgot to pay the salt bill? Usually, I think most restaurants make their food too salty, but my experience here was the opposite end of the spectrum: not enough salt. I'm all for letting the natural flavors take center stage, but some things need flavoring. For example, polenta is quite bland without salt or likewise. And just drizzling olive oil on spinach isn't good enough. Furthermore, a thin ring of balsamic vinegar can't make up for lack of spices. Lastly, the blackened fish tacos were just that. Blackened fish. And again, no flavor beyond that. Would a dash of salt hurt? But I will praise the food for its freshness. No wilted spinach leaves.

Yelp
Lived next door to this place for a few months and I am certain I have had all vegetarian options on the menu. Amazing but not limited to fried green tomatoes, Cajun fries, garlic puffs, pizza...any pizza, I mean you can blindly point and pick something and I'm sure it's a 10/10. Also great selections of wines/beers and dope mixed drinks. They sometimes have live music and outdoor seating! All around fire neighborhood spot!

Yelp
I recently moved around the corner and popped in with some friends after a day of moving...it was quiet in there for a Saturday night... the menu looked good but unfortunately the sandwich I had - the chicken sandwich- was overwhelmed by the sauce that came with it and the whole meal just tasted like dill....my friend had the burger and said the sauce on that overwhelmed the meat too. I've also been in for a drink before and the bar-tender seemed annoyed when I asked for recommendations....but I get that everyone has bad days! Not the charming neighborhood local I was hoping for when I first saw this place but definitely not somewhere to avoid either if you're in the area and want a drink/snack.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of the pizza dough that TangleTown Public House uses in many of their dishes. Plus that part of Greenlake is a cute little area to check out.

Yelp
My husband and I walked to this relaxed little spot just to have a beer. It wasn't quite dinner time so it was nice and quiet inside, and we sat at the bar. Casey helped us and was amazing! Although I have to say, all of the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. We got a couple local brews and a bowl of the clam chowder. The clam chowder was some of the best my husband and I have ever had! That, plus the good local beer selection and Casey's hospitality made our experience an unforgettable one. Cheers!

Yelp
What a wonderful surprise last night to try this place out one more time and to have both excellent customer service and delicious food!!! It's "safe to go back in the water" at a local restaurant again! Clean, roomy, outside seating (we were indoors) and fun decor (our pizza light!) . My two sons and my boyfriend had so much fun. We'll go back again soon!!!

Dina W.

Yelp
The food at this place is fantastic!! I always over order as I can never decide between the best pizza ever, the fried cauliflower that is to die for (NOT greasy or overly breaded), the fried green tomato caprese salad that is unlike anything I've ever had, the delectable, finger licking wings, the salads that raise the bar on salads everywhere.... The list goes on! Not to mention a wide variety of awesome beers, ciders and drinks ( tequila flights anyone?) Eat in the bar or the more family friendly lower restaurant area. Outdoor seating as well. This place has a great neighborhood vibe and often has live music on Wednesday nights. My favorite hangout that never disappoints!

Yelp
Unlike the newest reviewer below me, the kitchen needs SERIOUS oversight from management. I was there just in the last 2 weeks and ordered the chicken sandwich. It arrived at my table almost RAW! And the French fries that came with the order were clearly frozen, crispy on the outside but mushy on the inside. I don't mind the a new menu but they took off a couple of their most popular items. I doubt I will be back, and I was a long time supporter of the old place.

Steve D.

Yelp
So, I see a lot of old reviews here, but I believe this changed owners in early 2019, and it changed its name to Tangletown Public House. It used to be an Elysian brewpub. The food is much improved over the old Elysian place. I've been to the new place a couple of times and have been very happy with the steak frites (ordered medium rare) - a healthy chunk of meat, nicely cooked (seared outside, soft inside), blue cheese, kale, and perfect fries. The kale, cheese, and meat work really well together. (The previous place gave me an uninspired dish with overcooked meat, and I regretted my order.) My six year old loves the grilled cheese sandwich on the kids menu. It has two kinds of cheese on it, which tells me some thought has been put into the dish.

Yelp
Nice to have a neighborhood bar with friendly staff, but the food is almost inedible. The pizza was terrible. Bad crust and sauce tasted out of a salty can. Salad was way overdressed and just bad. Can't imagine anyone eating here more than once.

Yelp
The nachos were splendid, the cocktail perfect, and the atmosphere just what my partner and I want from a neighborhood cafe that is both classy but casual. The servers and bartenders are like old friends already. This is the new TangleTown, with a new owner and a sweet new vibe.

Susie I.

Yelp
Yummy NY style pizzas that you can get baked fresh there or frozen to go. Lots of yummy adult drinks to go, I really like the slushy French 75, and ice cream to go. I also really appreciate they have a walk up area where you can order from the sidewalk and when I've been there they've done really well following covid precautions.

Yelp
Great beer. Fun place to watch the game. They have a really clear sounds system that really helps. Food is good too and reasonably priced. I had the wagu burger. Lovely.

Yelp
Their nachos are an awesome vegetarian option, they have a great beer list and they are kid friendly! The atmosphere is cozy and the service is always fast. Tangletown Public House is a staple in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Went here for a late dinner and drinks last week with a few friends. I live only a few blocks away and I've been excited to have a go-to spot nearby. Unfortunately, I was less than impressed. All the people were sitting out on the patio as it was a super warm night. We agreed to sit inside but asked to move out when something opened up. The host said that would be no problem. When the time came we asked to move outside and our waiter said they were closing the patio. That seemed like they missed an easy opportunity to please a new customer...but we just said oh well. The food took a very long time to arrive. Tasted good although the fried tomato sandwich has too many fried things in my opinion. With the super crispy toasted bread and the fried tomatoes it could use some more vegetables. My friends salad looked very good though. On the plus side, I ordered a cucumber sour that was very tasty! Then when it came to paying at the end we had more issues. We already tried to ask for separate tabs and our waiter insisted on just doing it at the end, so we didn't argue. But then he brought one tab and dropped it and left. My friend asked him when he came back if it would be alright to split it up and he replied with something to the effect of "what - you can't just throw four cards down?" Then begrudgingly walked away and split the tabs. My three friends paid with cards and I paid w cash. The waiter asked if I needed change and I said yes. So he takes the books, rings the cards, and brings them back without saying anything about my change. He then brings my change like 10 minutes later, giving me a $1 and a $5, making it very difficult to tip. Luckily my friend had change for a $5. They also started stacking chairs on tables while new people were still coming in - very tacky! I really wanted to like this place but I left very underwhelmed. May be willing to try again in a few months to see if they have better service by then.

Kathleen M.

Yelp
I have looked forward to having a nice dinner here. Unfortunately it was an average experience, uninteresting food, boring server who clearly wished she as some where else and fox tv with boxing. There were only a few people there at dinner time so this should have cued us to go somewhere else on Saturday night. Nothing wrong but just a waste of money.

Wayne D.

Yelp
We have only been here a few times but the new owner seems to have put some thought into the new menu and design. The service was outstanding (they split a late night order of Steak Frites for us). The beer and wine list are well curated and the food was good. They have outside seating for nice days and this is a great addition to the neighborhood.

Rebecca K.

Yelp
Hadn't been in years until today. The brunch was amazing! I had eggs bennie and he had the verde chili and it was delish! The service was excellant too! We will be back!

D H.

Yelp
I loved this place when it was Elysian, but now it's not great. The interior is perhaps nicer. The location remains fantastic! But the food was not great. The cauliflower appetizer did not look good, but it was quite tasty! But as a vegetarian, for anything else I'm currently limited to the fried green tomato sandwich (Blech! I couldn't eat it.) and salads. So...I won't be back unless the menu changes, which is such a bummer because Elysian was my convenient go to place for dinner, dates, out-of-towners, etc. It wasn't pretentious, but the beer was good and the food was good. Now...not so much.
