Order to go before my flight, waited about 20 mins for the order. I watched the team play and look at guest as if they aren’t there, yes you order at the machine so there is no interaction but there should be a check in, hi how are you or something. None of that happened. I finally get my veggie burger- although I asked for no pineapples, I watched the staff place the order to be picked up then the manager I presume said no pineapples, he proceeds to pick off the pineapples and hand it back because when I got it there was surely pineapples there. And it came to me very sloppy and unappealing. I handed it back to the team and told them the issue, she offered to make it again - she did that and I appreciated it but it was still very messy and not very good- needless to say I ate the fries and threw the rest away.

Google
Dont do it. Worst Quality/Price Ratio ever. Also, service closed up at 9:55 PM so they removed our drinks, although our food arrived 9:50 pm. See menu photo vs. Reality.

Google
One star bc that’s only way it posts. Food was gross no care at all. Brown avocado spread. Not actual avocado slices. Eggs were bad. Everything was bad.

Pricilla Vivian

Google
Worst service and the food is even worse. Took them about 30 minutes to bring out my drink then 40 minutes to serve me these Diabolical fries. Spent about 36 dollars for everything in the picture attached. What’s sad is this is EXACTLY how the fries came out. SMH DO NOT COME HERE !

Daniel Cannon

Google
Would have left a five star review if not for the horrible QR scanner process for ordering food. Can’t even pay with Apple Pay so I’m sitting there at the bar typing in my credit card information. Not a pleasant experience. Not sure why management has chosen to subject their patrons to such a miserable ordering process.

I always love to arrive earlier from my flight times so I can have steak for either lunch or dinner at Tanglewood. This time experience was horrible. I ordered one coke and the NY strip (medium) with parmesan brocoli. The coke came so flat and transparent, I asked it to be without ice and see if it would taste different from water. The steak came without the broccoli or the chimichurri sauce, and worse than all, it was well done. I asked the waiter if this was my order and where was the brocoli (earlier they did put down Carne assada on my table, and i was like "fries?", and they quickly noticed the mistake). After the waiter investigation, he said the Chef didn't know about the broccoli or the chimichurri sauce. I ask myself how is that possible? It's literally in the Menu, it's the standard order, nothing special, there is a picture of the brocoli. And it's described in the menu that it comes with broccoli. I was forced to eat the chewy-dry-well done steak as I didn't have time to wait for this mess to be sorted. I also didn't want to create any conflict at the restaurant, but this situation is really unacceptable. I always refer this place to my work colleagues who are constantly flying and this is the first time I have such a disappointment. I want my money back, and I plan on disputing it.

Google
Food was good, especially for an airport. Variety of options you don't normally find at an airport including steak options. Just had a fried chicken sandwich and fries, nothing special, but it was good, a little spicy with a good sauce, crispy, and good fries. Service only brought you what you ordered, never see them otherwise. Online order from a QR at the table. Large seating area spanning many gates, plenty of room to not be crowded by others. Outlets at every table, plenty of room to work. Full bar with many drink options.

Google
Extremely disappointed with the service I received, particularly from the bartender on duty at 7:30 AM on May 3rd. The attitude was shockingly rude and unwelcoming. Not what anyone should experience when dining out, especially first thing in the morning. Hospitality is a cornerstone of the food and beverage industry, and unfortunately, that was completely lacking here. Based on this interaction alone, I would not recommend this establishment to others. The chef; however, was extremely nice. He should be upfront and not that woman.

Yelp
Stopped to order breakfast. They were SUPER slow to bring the food out. Usually airport restaurants are a little quicker as they know people are on time constraints. Luckily the flight was delayed. Otherwise..... Anyway the food was good and fresh and hot. Just took a long time. Give them a visit if you come through Houston airport.
google avatar

Yelp
Like nearly all airport restaurants these days, at Tanglewood Grille in IAH terminal E, you scan a QR code, order off your phone, and then you're obligated to pay when you order. That includes leaving a tip. it also means the wait staff have minimal responsibility when it comes to the diner. They only need to just set your order in front of you and walk away. i was thus flummoxed that when I asked for another plastic ketchup container for my fries, the servers could not be bothered. I regretted leaving a 20% tip at the start of this experience. The fries were pretty good, though. Even better with ketchup!

Mat D.

Yelp
This was epically tragic airport food. Do not eat here. I had the Buffalo wings and they were $18 of terrible. My wife had the Cobb salad and it literally had rotten lettuce leaves in it and the dressing was lousy - too tart. Just a real crap experience. Hate ordering on the app - is it really too much to ask on a $80 tab before tip to have a server? Whoever is managing this place is failing and owner should fire them immediately. What a waste of a valuable airport concession. Two stars only because the beer was good. Otherwise it's a one
google avatar

Tim T.

Yelp
Very stylish and also somewhat pricey restaurant in IAH but the food quality is worth it - also housed in a pretty cool wooden structure. Great service as well!
google avatar

K J.

Yelp
Awful. Gross. Brown thin layer of what's supposed to be avocado. Didn't even get the bacon that was supposed to come with it but that's ok bc they pulled cold cooked bacon out of frig to warm up on grill. Don't bother going here. Hope I don't get sick.

Yelp
A recent dinner at Tanglewood Grille left me a little disappointed. After spending 25.00 for a chicken sandwich with fries and a soda, I can honestly say the quality was about on par with Wendy's. The ordering process is automated and sadly, many airport businesses are going this way. I was starving after getting up at 3am for an early flight. There really aren't many choices on Concourse E and the Tanglewood Grille did have a lot of empty seats. I took a chance on their restaurant, although I expected more of a gourmet meal, considering the price. There may be more items on the menu that are better options. The food was served fairly quickly and the staff was pleasant. The restaurant was clean and they offered a variety of food. My chicken sandwich was one of the least expensive items on the menu. It was served on a brioche bun, but the overall quality was pretty average. It would be nice if there were more restaurants to choose from, but if I find myself in the Concourse E area in the future, I would give them another try. The most expensive entrees were over 60.00, not sure if an airport meal would be worth paying that much.
google avatar

Claudia M.

Yelp
Fish in the fish and chips entree were burnt. Service was good. Price is high for small portions and quality. It's a busy place centrally located between gates by E concourse. To end on a good ore - I did have the brûlée cheese cake. It was good. Wait staff was very nice and stopped by often to make sure everything was okay. She was kind enough to ask why didn't I send fish back and offered for remake it but I was already on dessert and I don't normally send food back. I was up since 3am and had not eaten so I was starving.

Yelp
Three stars for the friendly staff, clean and comfortable environment plus for offering the only omelette with steak at IAH as far as I could tell. No stars for turning up the volume on the TV in my area after I got comfortable (but not on the other TVs), for giving precooked from frozen potato chunks instead of "home made" wedges as in the menu picture, having no tomato juice and substituting with a cheap grapefruit juice, and for serving fruit salad on a plate chopped up like for a kid's meal. No water provided. Nobody checks in how my meal is. What am I tipping for before I have even seen a person? The omelette was good, though I wish it had been made with three eggs instead of one and a half. We're in Texas folks, portions!
google avatar

Patrick ..

Yelp
This is arguably one of the worse food experiences I have ever had. Airport food is what it is, but this is another level. Three small pieces of turkey, not even a full piece of bacon. Didn't even have the extra bread. $23 after tax and tip for this joke of a sandwich. Not to mention you don't receive actual service, order on an app and pay before you get your food (including gratuity before receiving "service"/food). I never do this but DO NOT eat here. It's a waste of time and money. You're better off picking up a premade sandwich at a market nearby. Would give this a 0 of Yelp allowed it.
google avatar

Alex T.

Yelp
There's only one appropriate word to describe this establishment's services and products: criminal. Looking at the menu was headache in and of itself. $30+ (including automatic gratuity) for two eggs (the eggs of any style menu option) and a drink is atrocious. Would not recommend especially if you have a flight to catch. Ambiance is pretty nice but looks are often deceiving.

R. W.

Yelp
I just wanted a quick snack before the flight. Sat down at the restaurant, ordered hummus from an appetizer menu. Ended up paying more for the water than the hummus. What restaurant doesn't have a tap water? And more important, doesn't even ask if you want this fucking expensive bottled water?! I never buy bottled water at the airports. If I feel like spending $10 on a drink, I get something fancy, like fresh pressed juice or nice tea. But mostly drink free tap water.
google avatar

Alan D.

Yelp
IAH airport, Term E, gate 23 The absolute worse Cobb Salad I was ever served. It was a tad bigger than a side salad and skimpy on the ingredients. They aught to be ashamed of themselves. It was $19 And they wanted an extra $9 for chicken which I declined because- 1. that is way out of line, 2. I was afraid it was going to be that processed chicken. My wife's fries were good though.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
Food was not bad for airport fare. Dry rub wings were tasty but Cobb salad was skimpy. Service was beyond awful. Wings came out almost immediately but I had to go to the bar to chase down our salad. Woman behind the bar acted like she was doing me a favor to even talk to me. When the salad came out, there was no silverware. I asked for two sets (one for my wife and one for me) and the server disappeared. Saw her behind the bar waiting on others. When I went to the bar (for the second time) she saw me and immediately walked away. So, to review: half-dozen wings (tasty), one Cobb salad (meh), one glass of wine and one iced tea - $70. And it was one step above self serve. Would not eat here again.
google avatar

Rudito B.

Yelp
Two stars for super friendly staff. That's it. Nothing more positive to say. The order-by-app-only system would be great if the app was more clear and user friendly.
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Wow! You really have to earn a review here from me and this one is well deserved. Unfortunately, many patrons are not reviewing Yelp before they make decisions of where to eat on their way out of an airport. And who does? We take faith that a friendly face and some expensive food will fill our void as we head out. Buyer beware this place is a sand trap. Technology / app issues requiring you to order everything on your own aside, your staff looked defeated. Both the bartenders and manager told me "We didn't choose this system." I had the luck of ordering the one item that was not available and the cook came out to request the refund on my phone with little explanation. The manager came out on request and said the refund would come 3-5 days later (the confirmation emails says 5-7 or longer. Dolly offered to pay for my drink and another meal but the whole thing felt impersonal. I walked away with an $80 charge that should come back to my account by fall. I feel bad for the future travelers who wander up expecting a comfortable experience and good food. What they'll get is a frustrated staff, a poor app and from what I now have read, poor food to boot! (at least I avoided that) Avoid this restaurant and others like it under the OTG management group. *Please don't respond to this apologizing. Your response is as disingenuous as business model you have created.
google avatar

Hector B.

Yelp
I hate the app. It's impersonal and cold. Why even have tip of employees don't help? HORRIBLE. The food was OK. I had a breakfast burrito. It was oily. I also don't understand the salad for breakfast. It should be fruit, grits or potato type item. That doesn't fit! Not really happy with the food. I left most uneaten. It looks nice.... without substance
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
This restaurant makes you order your food yourself so you cant ask questions about the plate. Its expensive for what you get. My crab cakes did Not look like the picture and were not cooked through. In addition the salad came topped with Onions and tomatoes (neither are in the picture) which I cannot eat due to dietary reasons. I mentioned it to the waiter (very nice) and he relayed that the manager said it was my fault because I did not subtract the ingredient on the app. Then told me to order another one properly. (Not only did I pay $29 for crab cakes and a salad I did not eat but they would not refund it either.) There IS NO PLACE ON THE APP TO DO THIS. The special instruction block limits you to 16 characters. You can however do that for salads... I would never order food here again and I travel through this airport a lot. This was handled VERY BADLY.

Yelp
On 5 Oct 24 at 19:12:19 (yes, I got the date and time from my electronic receipt), my daughter and I ordered the Impossible Burger and Kids Cheeseburger Meal. When I picked up our to go order, I asked the lady manager on duty about both our burgers being pink when I opened our to go containers and looked at them. I showed them to her and she said that is normal, how they cook them. Food tasted good till we were both got sick...food poisoning...spending lots of time in the bathroom with throwing up and diarrhea. Thanks Tanglewood Grille. We DO NOT recommend eating at this establishment ever again.
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
After having a really bad day, we missed our flight so we decided to stop and eat at the Tanglewood Grille. Our bartender Drew went above and beyond to make our day a little bit brighter after the experiences of the day. He made sure we had everything that we needed and I just can't thank him enough for putting a smile on our face when we didn't think we had one anymore. Our server, I believe his name was Javarkis, was also a delight. We may have missed our flight, but we left with smiles and a full belly. Thank you guys for the amazing customer service. We truly appreciate it.

Christopher R.

Yelp
Went to the restroom down the concourse. While washing my hands, a dude in kitchen gear walks up, grabs a paper towel without washing his hands, and wanders out blowing his nose. I'm walking back to look at food options, and he heads into this place's kitchen. WTF. This is like 4pm local time. Not a chance.
google avatar

Win L.

Yelp
Wow save yourself and SKIP this place! Airport food is seldom great but this is a whole new level of BAD. Starts with the incredibly slow service - after waiting over 20min for a Cobb salad and onion rings, I started to wonder if they even got my order. I walked to the kitchen and saw my order just sitting there. By this time, I decided to give up and just asked for it to go... I get on the plane and realized both items were inedible. Onion rings were so overcooked it hurt my teeth to try to eat them. Cobb salad was literally giant full leaves of Bibb lettuce with gross clumps of cheese/bacon. Disgusting. Save your money and just get the fast food option. At least Panda Express is consistent.

Jean S.

Yelp
We ordered double bacon cheeseburger dumplings and margaritas. The margs were excellent even @$17.50. The dumplings seemed to have been pre-fried, rested, and then flash-fried to a dull, brown, hard, substance. The flavor of the dumpling interior was over-powered by everything else. Nice dressing and fresh salad mix, good service.

Chad W.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Chris Shepard and love the big brother of Tanglewood, also in IAH airport--Ember (see my review). I'm inclined to think Ember still retains some of Shepherd's influence, though he no longer helms the restaurant group that manages Ember and Tanglewood. That being said, my visit here was not a very good one. My Shrimp and Avocado Salad was pleasing, but I can't say the same for the four or so employees sitting around idle in this small establishment, a mere seven to fifteen feet from me, speaking passionately amongst themselves. I had to try to flag one of them down, twice. One was for an overdue refill of my water. The other was to finally grab my check. I believe in second chances when "the burn" or the treatment isn't that severe, and the crew there might have just been having a bad night. I'll give the place another shot in one of my flights out of IAH. When I'm not feasting on post oak-smoked bovine at Ember!
google avatar

Will N.

Yelp
Warm beer, 40+ minute for a soggy pizza that is all cheese with a floppy disgusting crust. Frozen Kroger pizza would be a better choice. How the heck do you pizza with burnt edges that still doughy? Want to know tangleqood? By putting so much where's that the damn bread can't cook. Worst place in IAH by far, and the staff couldn't care less.
google avatar

Ernie C.

Yelp
The one decent place at IAH, Pappasita's, was about to close, so came here instead. Food was average for airport food (meaning not very good). Impossible Burger was edible, fries were at least warm for a minute, but not hot. Drinks came in a few mins, but food took 20 mins. And they forgot part of my order. The worst part is the absolutely horrendous electro-pop music that is way too loud.

Glenn R.

Yelp
I guess I should not be surprised that this $23 hamburger and fries aren't bad, just quite boring. And on a dry bun. Get me out of this airport!

Savannah S.

Yelp
Coming from Florida I know what good fish and chips taste/look like, and I will confidently say Tanglewood's Fish and Chips is good. Accompanied by a great Bloody Mary. I like the order style of ordering and paying on your phone. It was easy to find located in terminal E on the way to my gate. Music and bar style seating makes you feel like you are not in the middle of the airport. I will be stopping by next time departing from IAH!

Discerning Chef ..

Yelp
Wish I could give this a lower rating. I now have officially had food worse than what you get on a plane. And it was only 60 bucks. What a deal.

Matthew B.

Yelp
Server was very rude. I was on the phone in a meeting while ordering and the lady told me inhad to order to sit there. I showed her my phone with the app open. She then later came by again and asked if I was ordering or I had to leave. I already had a food order in and it had been 10 minutes of me waiting for my food. Mind you this was at 9:30 am and there was plenty of seating not even 20% was full. I watched her chase others off rudely. Had I seen that before ordering I would never had bothered especially at airport pricing. Avoid this location.

Jacquie B.

Yelp
Irritable female wait staff, no customer service skills and speaking illiterately and inappropriate with customers.
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
It's airport food. I mean. It is what it is. At least breakfast isn't too bad, at least if you can ignore the sodium, fat, and carbs in most of the menu. And pricing isn't too too horrible, although it is an airport so it's not cheap.

Patti M.

Yelp
Not impressed with the service or the food. I don't mind scanning a QR code and placing an order, but the service was awful. I also was offended at the plea for donations to Ukraine on the app. Isn't a billion dollars enough? The "waitress" never smiled, made eye contact and I had to ask for a fork to eat with, it seemed to make her mad that I couldn't eat my salad without dressing or utensils. Very bad ambiance. The entire airport was a huge disappointment. If you can avoid Houston altogether I highly recommend you do so.
google avatar

Chance H.

Yelp
So I ate It was delicious Alec like Alec Baldwin was great with customer service would definitely eat here again. Also the drinks are amazing
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
This may be the worst airport bar experience I have ever had. Rude bartender. Complete shitshow. Don't spend your money here!
google avatar

Kristin M.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of enjoying a chicken Caesar salad and margarita at this restaurant in Houston airport. Alec Flores was my waiter. He was incredibly kind and helped me with ordering since I was having problems with the online ordering on their tablet. I believe the/the app only collected a 15-16 % tip and I chose to share a little more with him, which I gave in cash. Because I checked out online and did not exactly have the hang of it.... he took my email address so I would receive a receipt. Alec went above and beyond to explain why my Amex card had two different charges on totaling over $100, I only had a small salad and two Margaritas. He explained the second charge was the final being processed. The first one would drop off. Thank you Alec Flores!! Until next time I fly through Houston!!!! Kristin Martin

Jerry S.

Yelp
$22.00 for a mimosa, what a fing ripoff, you'd think for that much the glass would be full or at least more champagne than orange juice, also ordered breakfast and a the toast was so cold the butter wouldn't even melt on it.
google avatar

Kate R.

Yelp
The ordering/payment system is a little odd, but not because it's bad. It's just different! They seem to have these little tablets all over the airport, assisting in the speed in which guests order, pay, and receive... my only issue is that you pay at the beginning (when you order) and so you are also asked for the tip amount... I have trouble tipping before I've experienced service, food, or drink! You could just tip in cash, but I didn't realize this since we didn't see our service. So, the idea of this place is super futuristic... you sit down, order from a tablet, a server brings you food/drinks and makes sure you know how the whole thing works. Our favorite part was that our kids (who are sitting-by-yourself-age) could hang out by the gate and play on their tablets and phones while we grabbed a beer and they were in our view the entire time! So cool. Overall, if you are passing through and need a place to sit down that's close to your gate and offers a decent beer and liquor selection in addition to food, this is your spot!
google avatar

Joe W.

Yelp
$43!!! I was expecting the price to be steep, mostly because it's in an airport, but it also looks like a nice place to eat. The few pieces of jerky that was supposed to be medium rare were way over cooked and barely covered a quarter of the shallow box. The teaspoon of corn was stale and I have no idea what the crunchy white stuff was. The fries were the best part of the meal and they were still about as good as something you'd get at Burger King.
google avatar

Erik P.

Yelp
Really disappointing. $39 for a salmon salad and iced tea. Salad portions were very small. Fish potion was adequate and it was cooked properly to be fair. Restaurant was only about 30% full and it took over 30 minutes to get my food. I had to wolf it down to make my plane. I never thought I would have trouble getting my food in time with a restaurant that was nearly empty. My main issue was drinks. It was $5 for the tea itself, with no refill included (that was another $5). But the cups are only 12 oz, and I saw the bartenders consistently only fill the cups about 2/3 full for everyone. So this issue of not allowing free refills on soda, tea, etc., is becoming more common in the US (it is pretty standard in Europe), but if you're going to charge for every refill, it is just not acceptable to not fill the 12 oz. cup for $5. I would normally have given an additional star because the quality of the food I got was decent at least, but this price, with the unacceptable wait time, and with what I believe to be genuinely dishonest practices with the drinks I have to say only one star was merited her. Most airport food experiences are mediocre at best, but this was truly disappointing and I will not be back. Note: If management responds and assures me that they will address the issue with properly filling drinks for people, I will raise my rating to 2 stars....)
google avatar

Tomas A.

Yelp
Terrible service!!! So sad because nice location and decoration. At 10:30 PM Houston time the waitress rudely denied service !!! Too much technology , but dreadful service . Understandable that they pretend each customer order from individual computers in the bar, because the customer service does not exist at all!! Besides for just one cider and one single rum and coke , they were planning to charge 40.50 USD!!! What is that? A scam? Never again to stop at this ridiculous bar!!
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
The server Alex was so helpful. I had cancellations on top of cancellations turning my airport layover into a 5 hour ordeal. My experience at the Tanglewood made it bearable and comfortable. Superb food and service. Bravo Tanglewood!
google avatar

J B.

Yelp
Well we had trouble ordering. When we requested help, it came, but he was very unhappy to come around the bar. They did not have the wine we requested, that is why we couldn't order that wine. We didn't know that, but he was annoyed. As it was another gentleman served us the wine we did order and he was nice and it didn't seem to be a bother for him.

Koye S.

Yelp
Sorry if I wanted a Utah pour I would have stayed home. Basically just spent $20 on a 1oz pour of Japanese whiskey and the server snapped at me that he "measured it " this was without me saying a word and just inspecting the glass . Clearly not th first complaint they've had on the size of their pours. And could have done without the attitude when the majority of the work is done by an iPad . Pitiful
google avatar

Alana C.

Yelp
Very mediocre. The items in the menu doesn't tell all that is in the dish. I had the all day burger and it's forgettable in every day. It was dry, the lettuce looked old and there wasn't any sauce, there was a tomato paste that it's not informed of on the menu. Not worth the 22$.
google avatar

Karen S.

Yelp
Another addition to airport terminal with iPad-like ordering system. Day 2 of operations so food is a little slow for others around me, but mine came out fast and easy. I wasn't too hungry, so a side of BACON and a few French 75 for the mid-morning imbibing! Served with a smile, clean comfortable seating options and as per usual ridiculous airport prices! Lots of wine options, TV, USB and plug in Friendly service
google avatar

Paul W.

Yelp
Great food but ridiculous prices. I had the steak and fries which was excellent and perfectly cooked. However, Extremely expensive. Beware. Good service. Two glasses of ordinary wine were 63 dollars!!!!
google avatar

Anna D.

Yelp
Actually it's not fair, I had 50'minutes between my flights, I ordered salmon salad and after 30 minutes I ask how long I have to wait, they told me that my food can not be ready, I have next flight another 2,5 hours, I can't eat carbs so now I am hungry and already my board time , if they said in the beginning that they can not cook I would rather find other place to eat , it's so many other nice places, this one was close to 21 gate . I am very upset. They promise to make refund, but who cares if you need food here and now.
google avatar

Nikki C.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast burrito and friendly, helpful staff. Great for a super early morning and a long day of travel ahead. Jules was especially helpful!
google avatar

Nicole F.

Yelp
Time between flights? Nice place to hang for a bit. Food was okay, but my expectations weren't too high considering it is more fast casual than restaurant-esc. Lots of TVs and personal entertainment devices to keep you occupied between gates. Able to order via the personal device and food came quickly. Also, not rushed out (saw plenty of people sitting here instead of gate).
