"Decorated with intricate wood carvings, stained glass panels, and orchids, Tani is a soothing escape of a restaurant. The menu lists over 100 items (plus a full vegetarian menu), with items like crispy basil duck, pad thai, and three flavors tofu." - Stacy A. Moya

Google
Surprisingly good Thai restaurant, several dishes we ordered taste great, such as curry fish (tilapia), crisp duck, etc, all in decent portion for an adult. Waiter recommended chef's special (Tani angels?) also taste great, scallops and seafood are flavorful, tender and juicy, amazing! I will surely revisit next time I pass by. Highly recommend.

Google
Friendly service and large portions for reasonable prices. Always a good choice for Thai or Japanese food.

Google
The service is soooo rude!! I’m not used to write bad reviews but the experience thar we had was awful! I will never come back again!

Google
Great little spot for delicious Thai food. They have excellent lunch specials for $11. They serve great dishes at amazing prices. They served so much food that I had to take leftovers home.

Lauren Lundin

Google
Very delicious food here, one of my favorite Asian restaurants to eat at. Noi, is very nice, super friendly server and makes the experience eating there better. I definitely will be a regular customer here :)

Google
Tani Thai is EXCEPTIONAL!!! The staff knows who you are after being there once or twice and treat you like you're one of their own. The food is phenomenal and makes you want to keep coming back for more, proving to the point because we've been coming here for 24yrs!!! A must for family or a romantic evening with a loved one

Claes Mogren

Google
Good, big sushi rolls, but the Thai food was ok at best. Not spicy at all, no holy basil, and not much vegetables. Big portions, and some Thai, Chinese and Japanese beers.

Google
Great Thai food. Well established over 30 years. Great flavors and fresh food always. We had an amazing pineapple curry!

Tanner W.

Yelp
We went to this place on a wimb and we're thoroughly impressed! The price was a little high but the portions of the food definitely made up for it. Also, the hospitality was impeccable. Our waitress so nice and helpful and we loved our time there. We will for sure be back!

Melissa L.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with my boyfriend. The looks of the place are regular degular but the food is so good! Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The service was efficient. 10/10 def recommend. We will be back to try other options!

Tricia K.

Yelp
Been coming here for a long time for Thai food. I didn't know that they served sushi until a few weeks ago. Decided to order some last night along with some Thai favorites. We ordered: Curry fish Fried rice with beef Chino Loco roll Kissing roll The curry fish and the fried rice were delicious as usual! I enjoyed the Chino Loco roll but the Kissing roll wasn't for me, especially for the price. I need to come back and try different rolls. This is a great place if you're craving both Thai and Japanese food!

David D.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. Wife and I started with the Butterfly Roll which a plentiful appetizer for two and satisfying also with four people. I had the basil duck which is served with fresh bell peppers. The duck was a plentiful portion and cooked to perfection. My wife had the pork woo San (#2 heat) and it was well prepared. For desert we had the fried ice cream, which one serving was plenty for two. Just about the best Thai restaurant in Pinecreast area you can go to. Their menu has a variety of selections that will not disappoint you.

Cindi A.

Yelp
The best clear noodles in town!! Get them with fried tofu. You won't be sorry. When I moved from NYC to Miami, I really missed thai food, but Tani fills that void :)

Joseph V.

Yelp
First time here and I would definitely come back. Service was a little slow but the food was great and the ambiance was nice.

Yelp
I can't visit Palmetto Bay without stopping at Tani Thai! My boyfriend is from Miami and grew up very close to this location. His dad and mom used to take him before his father passed. We were finally able to visit the last couple times and it's been such a joy seeing how much happiness comes out of him when we eat the food him and his father used to share. Thanks for sharing memories we can't get back. Anytime I visit Tani we get greeted the moment we walk through the door. Whether it's lunch time or dinner time we are always greeted with a comforting joy, as if mom was saying hi after coming home from a long day of school. I always go for the usuzukuri, which is thinly sliced (sashimi) fish. It's so delightful and comes with a gorgeous ponzu. I get a side of jalapeño because it pairs so well but it tastes beautiful without. Also recommend getting the cocky bob and pad thai!

Tom B.

Yelp
Ways good food! Very consistent take out. Dining in can be a bit slow but that's ok just grab another beer!

Cameron B.

Yelp
Amazing service, is never packed and has awesome flavorful food. Clear noodles are awesome containing tons of flavor and love.

Karla C.

Yelp
Pretty and cute estaurant located in downtown Buford. The place was nice, Pretty and nice staff but super slow service. That was overshadowed though by the delicious food they had. Everything we ordered was tasty and their lychee martini was nice too. Prives can be higher than other spots but I feel the place is definitely worth the visit.

Erika J.

Yelp
i don't know how i haven't been here before!! ordered for take out and the food is so good! you can tell that they make everything with clean fresh ingredients. exactly what i wanted! we ordered the dumplings fried, the cocky bob, panang curry(not pictured) & thai tea. everything was so great. highly recommend!!

Carlos N.

Yelp
First time at Tani. Chicken Pad Thai was ok but far from a good dish. Not sure will come back .

Henry I.

Yelp
Small and cozy restaurant centrally located on US1 in Pinecrest. When you enter you don't think much but once sit down the cleanliness, service and menu immediately reach 5 star level. Our server was excellent, the menu offers great variety and the food was top notch. Drinks were well prepared, food was fresh and served fairly quickly. We will definite be back!

Juan A.

Yelp
Moo Goo Gai Pan and Thai donuts. Don't miss them. Even if it's dark and you can't see them well trust me it's flavor that counts. And the attentive service abounds.

Ariel P.

Yelp
Tasty food, good service. Loved the basil duck, wonton soup, special fried rice, crab wontons.

Jose D.

Yelp
Whenever I am in the Pinecrest/Falls area Tani Thai is my go to place for Thai takeout. The restaurant itself is small but looks very inviting to dine in as well. I personally have not done so but I have heard good things from family members. The restaurant is located in a small shopping strip with mostly restaurants. The parking is limited but there is more in the back. As far as takeout my order has always been correct and ready for pickup by the time they say (usually a few minutes earlier). For what to order the Cocky Bob chicken is a must. It is the Thai version of honey chicken. I compare all sweet chickens at other Thai restaurants to this one. I also usually get a pad Thai because you can never have enough pad Thai. Keep in mind you can tell them how spicy you want certain dishes by star values.

Fong L.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I prdered the masamen curry chicken, crispy duck and fried basil fish. I recommend it all! You can not go wrong with it!

Victoria M.

Yelp
Love this place but their hours on google are wrong. Came in at 8:45 just for them to tell me they close in 15 minutes. On google it says they close at 10 every night except for Sunday. Super annoying because it was already late and most of the other restaurants were closed/closing in the area. As we were leaving some people asked us if they were closing and I said yes but the hours on google were wrong. Update your hours!

Lauren B.

Yelp
One of the better places in Miami to get Thai food. Definitely try their pad thai and you gotttttaaaa have the cocky bob. Always a favorite combo

Cheryl R.

Yelp
I have gone to Tani Thai for about 15 years. The food is delicious and they have a big menu. I like to support local restaurants and always feel confident recommending Tani Thai

Angelica B.

Yelp
Love the place. Food is delicious. Staff very attentive. And the restaurant is spotlessly clean. I would love to go there more often. What's more to add? Parking is convenient and the atmosphere very friendly.

Nicholas A.

Yelp
I don't like writing negative reviews. This is the worst Thai food I've ever had. I ordered the Thai curry fried rice with pork. The pork was dry and flavorless. They hammered out all of the flavor and tenderness. I'm sorry to say this, but the pork seriously tasted like dog food. The dish was 99% fried rice with minimal vegetables or meat. The same story with my grandfather, they really skimp on the more expensive ingredients. The menu reads like a book. Why is half the menu sushi rolls? This Thai restaurant has pictures exclusively of Japanese food plastered near the front door. Maybe if this restaurant removed 230 of the 250 dishes offered, and you know, focused on Thai cuisine, they would be able to make some damn good food. Take the weights off Goku! There is no way they can offer quality dishes with the number of dishes that are on the menu. It's really ridiculous the amount of crap is on the menu. I am struggling to see how this place is rated 4 stars. Man... really disappointed. I am reading these other reviews, and I'm just amazed at how different my experience was. I read they recently changed management. I would advise you to take your business elsewhere. There are so many great Thai places in the Miami area.

Nicole L.

Yelp
After class I went here with Fred hungering for decent Thai Food around dusk. The ambiance was a little dark for my taste. We jumped right into the main courses after reading a few reviews and looking at previously posted pictures and settled on the Basil Duck and Pad Thai with Shrimp. Fred also had a Thai Iced tea, which is loaded with sugar so I said now way! Fred might enjoy an early grave but not me! The guy taking our order was nice and I assume the older lady was his Mom, was equally nice. Truth told, the service is good. Anyway the dishes came out pretty quickly. The basil duck had the distinct basil flavor and the duck was sweet and crispy on the outside---reminded me of an orange chicken dish---at $21 however it was a little pricey. The Shrimp Pad Thai was rather plain and didn't have enough vegetables or egg, which is usually mixed in with everything. Our waiter, the young boy, didn't ask us how spicy we wanted it so the dishes came out rather unappealingly bland. There wasn't chili peppers on the table to even add more spice. The reason I'm giving a 3 star is because the dishes were bland and overly oily. Your mouth tasted like a greasy spoon after eating these dishes. They didn't have papaya salad nor did they have mango sticky rice (during Miami Mango season!!!) How can you run a Thai restaurant without these two staple dishes, I ask myself. Alas we are rarely in Pine Crest so we probably won't be back.

Charles N.

Yelp
DO NOT go on a Wednesday. The back up server is the rudest server I have ever seen in my life. She was outright aggressive and rude. Telling people to wait with her hand up when asking for a drink. Telling another one in our group when she asked for hot sauce " Do you not see it on the table! " It was on the second table all the way at the end of the two tables put together. When asked for curry sauce on the side she said NO! She honestly was the rudest person ever. We had several other incidents but I am done with this review. I love this restaurant. Have been going for years but this server is a huge liability to this restaurant. The usual server is super helpful and polite.

Alfredo L.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. We ordered the Beef Pad Thai, Chicken Pad Thai, Kissing Roll, Thai Tea, and Thai Donuts. Everything was delicious. For dinner, call first since they close now at 9:00 PM.

Linda P.

Yelp
Great Food and Service.. every time we are down south we make it a point to stop here.. we had the fried rice with everything and the Beef Basil and pan fried dumplings ..

Michele W.

Yelp
I was recently craving Thai food and having seen that it was close by to my new address and the 4 star reviews thought I would give it a try. There were 3 of us and we were hungry and excited at the thought of the traditional Thai flavors...What a Disappointment!!! First and foremost upon entering the restaurant the ambience is off, no effort to entice the newcomer to anticipating a most remarkable meal, (I've experienced this in a dump of a restaurant in San Francisco and food was glorious!) our most shy host (barely speaking English/ anticipation is building / has to be good and quite authentic!) guides us to a table where we sit and briefly peruse the menu and quickly decide on simple dishes, while initially requesting beverages, no silverware, no napkins etc.. beverages come and we've requested a seafood soup.. we had to get up to request napkins and silverware.. not a lot of people in this restaurant (not a good sign and no aromatic hint of the culinary sort either) our second dish comes out, crispy duck... Awful! No flavor whatsoever, tasted over cooked, rubbery & reheated as well as over refrigerated, sauce was pure water with pineapple chunks that were pale and evidently from a can that also has been sitting in the open container for some time in the refrigerator!! The thought of the food is just stomach churning.. NEver Again! Poor service and even worse food!

Dailyn S.

Yelp
It hurts to give 2 stars as I have been a loyal customer for many years now. However, it seems there was some ownership change and with that the food quality/taste also changed and not necessarily for the best. The prices has gone up and the food just doesn't taste as it used to be. Very sad

Claire W.

Yelp
Nice restaurant and delicious Thai food! A little bit on the fancy side with their folded cloth napkins and stained glass window, but casual attire is just fine. Dishes are slightly pricier than what I would expect for a Thai restaurant, but reasonable considering the excellent service and ambiance. Ordered chicken fried rice and cockybob chicken to-go the first time (~$30) and dined in the second time. No wait on Saturday around 7pm. Ordered the same aforementioned dishes and yellow curry. The cockybob chicken was recommended and we enjoyed it so much we had to order it again. The waiter said the yellow and red curries were popular. Everything was great. Was served white rice out of a giant silver bowl...did I mention this place was fancy? Let me repeat again, the service was excellent! All the waitstaff was very polite and came to our table at the appropriate times. Would definitely eat here again if in the area, and I'm interested in trying more dishes. You should check this place out if you like Thai food! Free parking in the lot out front.

Yelp
Mmmm. Fist, I would like to explain that the 4star rating is because of my last visit before that It was always a 5+. I have been to Tani Thai several times and I have been recommending it for years. My daughter loves their chicken satay and she is a very picky eater (3 yo toddler) The cocky bob duck is probably the only way I'll ever eat duck in Miami. Their pad Thai is as close as it gets to the real deal. However, this past time I went I must admit the food was lacking a little flavor. It didn't have the same zing. I can't pin point exactly what it is but I I feel like there's definitely something missing. Also, what's going on with the papaya salad? They used to have it on the menu. I asked my server if they had a new cook and she assured me they were under new ownership but the cook was the same. So, whatever it is you have done New Tani Thai Owners please reverse it, and make your chef very happy so he/she can continue to make deliciously made Thai food for your loyal customers.

Reilly E.

Yelp
Cocky Bob is life. Tani Thai is seriously the best Thai food in Miami and it's the first restaurant you'll see me at when I'm visiting family here in Pinecrest. The owners are the sweetest people, and they are a family run business. All of their menu options are to die for, including the woonsen chicken! Their lunch special is my favorite, it comes with a small soup, egg roll and your main dish. You'll leave stuffed and totally happy when you order from Tani Thai. Can't wait to go back. Do yourself a favor and get the cocky bob!

David L.

Yelp
This Thai place is one of the best that I have been to. The staff are very friendly and the food is fresh and yummy. I started of with a ginger dressing salad which was fresh and the dressing was not greasy. My coworker Nikky had the queen of the sea sushi roll that was to die for if your into shrimp and scallops and have an appetite this will surely fill you up. So, I ordered chicken pad Thai level 7 spicy and was too spicy but it was real good. I think a medium spicy would have been perfect. But it was real good and I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and anyone that's in the Are and in the mood for Thai or sushi.

Isa D.

Yelp
At first glance, Tani Thai Restaurant looks like a hole in the wall. It doesn't look very glamorous from the outside. But when you actually go inside the place, it's actually quite elegant. The decoration is beautiful and everything is very clean. It's Nice place! Not what you would expect just by looking at it. My waitress was really sweet. My table was kind of unbalanced, but she balanced it for me. I ordered a Chicken Pad Thai and it was great. Sweet, yet a tangy taste, very good. Beforehand, as an appetizer, they give you soup and some warm spring rolls, which is a tasty and a kind detail. The prices were fair as well. I honestly like this place and will probably come back again since it is pretty close to my house. Would recommend!

Michael C.

Yelp
Craving Thai food? If the answer to that question is yes, then boy is this the place for you! A real treat, Tani Thai provides excellent in-house and takeout services as the staff is always friendly and the food is an instant guilty pleasure. Located in a tiny section of a shopping center, parking spots are sparse but something one overlooks due to how good the food is. If you order takeout, keep in mind that you may have to leave your car running while you're inside. The restaurant is known to give accurate pickup times when ordering over the phone, though - customers won't be waiting needlessly for their food to become ready. Tani Thai's fried chicken platter, the Cocky Bob, is a an absolute delight. It's not the same, round, overly bready honey chicken that all other Thai or Chinese restaurants seem to serve. It's cooked like a chicken fritter in a sweet, homemade sauce. Orders don't come with a plastic bucket of honey either as the long chicken strips are already prepared in the specialty sauce. Every order of Cocky Bob also comes with a side of white rice. Their rice has a track record of still being very hot and fresh by the time you get home. The way the rice absorbs the sweet sauce and sticks to the chicken is glorious and just the way you want it! It's truly something you'll continue to crave once you've had it for the first time.

Eduardo G.

Yelp
In the Mood for spicy Penang curry with crispy duck, was good not but very spicy and I had ordered the spicy dish. The Crispy Duck was very tasty crispy and tender. I enjoyed it very much. Will definitely make sure next time to order it Super Spicy.

Jazmin G.

Yelp
There isn't much I can say about Tani Thai that hasn't already been mentioned in other reviews. This is, with good reason, the best place in Miami for traditional Thailand style Pad Thai. I ventured to Thailand this past Summer with my bestie and was completely surprised when I ate Thai food there only to find that there were zero similarities to the Thai food here in Miami. Tani Thai is literally the only exception for me so far. From their Tom Yum Goong (shrimp soup with lemongrass and mushrooms), to their Panang curry and their Pad Thai, you really can't go wrong with what you order here. If you're looking for traditional Thai style cooking, Tani Thai is the place for you. Highly recommend!

Celina B.

Yelp
We come to Miami from El Salvador every so often and have eaten several times in this restaurant. We love their authenticity and flavors in all their foods. But , this time with covid, we noticed their biosecurity protocols are really good. They have air several air purifiers, the tables are set apart between guests and all the staff wear a mask! So, I highly recommend it!

Carlos S.

Yelp
If I could give this place no stars I would. Honestly, it was the worst Thai food we've ever had (and that's saying something as we eat Thai frequently). We ordered the Wonton Soup and it was extremely bland with soggy wontons. Yet, we progressed with the meal, hopeful for our Pork Red Curry and Chicken Pad Thai to come. Couldn't have been more disappointed! The Pad Thai was extremely sweet seemingly having an excess of fish sauce or some other ingredient. The Pork Red Curry was bland and also unusually sweet. They did not offer a preference for heat level which in our experience is uncommon as well. Overall, not worth the prices or the time and effort to come here. Given the experience, we wouldn't return, not even if we were paid to do so.

Adele R.

Yelp
So freaking good! We've been coming here for years. We always have great service and the food is really good. If you like Thai food, this is definitely where it's at! Especially if you like a little spice in your food, they do not disappoint

Janah I.

Yelp
Food is very good and staff is very nice. I went in the early afternoon. We were seated right away. I ordered a soup, salad, and fried rice. Everything was fresh and tasty. Overall great experience

Nicole S.

Yelp
Don't let the outside appearance steer you away! I came here for lunch during the week and it did not dIsapoint. The inside of the restaurant looks a lot nicer. They have a lunch menu with special prices on certain items. For starters we got the steamed dumplings. They were so good and melted in your mouth. The entrees come with soup and 2 fried dumplings. If I realized my dish came with it I wouldn't have ordered my initial app. For starters we split the pad Thai and Cocky Bob Chicken. The pad Thai is a staple, must order! The chicken was kind of lIke a fried honey chicken. Overall a good expo and the service was good.

Sarah P.

Yelp
This place always hits the spot. I usually come here with my son for their lunch specials, and always enjoy it... good choices, and nice decor inside.

Claudia H.

Yelp
Love this little Pinecrest gem. Food is amazing and service is fair. I would recommend takeout.

Charity D.

Yelp
One of the best Thai restaurants in Miami! Friendly service and large delicious portions make this Thai spot stand out among the rest. Appetizer: curry puffs! Large and deliciously homemade. Entrees: Duck or chicken basil--you can't go wrong. Get it medium spicy.

Nico C.

Yelp
I've been going to this spot forever! The food is always good and I know what to always expect. It is definitely my go-to thai spot close to home. I highly recommend the Cocky Bob chicken!

Serena P.

Yelp
I felt like I was dining in my own dining room. And I mean this in the best possible way. The decor and ambiance are cozy and welcoming. The staff welcomed us warmly. Went Wednesday, around 1 pm and it was practically empty. I was starving so I decided to get the spring rolls for appetizer. They were ok. I think I didn't like the dipping sauce that much. They gave us a lunch menu, from which I ordered the cocky bob. Unique name for sure! And oh so delicious. Thinly sliced pieces of friend chicken with a honey garlic sauce and served with white rice. Did I mention each entree comes with soup as a starter. The chicken soup was amazing-and I am not a soup person. The broth was so flavorful. The serving sizes were plentiful so unfortunately I was too full for dessert BUT I will be back to try the thai donuts (always a weakness). Parking lot sucks! I actually ended up parking in the adjacent plaza (where Starbucks is) and just walked across.

Megan V.

Yelp
You won't miss Tani Thai right off of US-1 (the sign is huge), and you DON'T want to miss out on this food!! Spectacularly tasty AND cheap! The two of us ate very well for about $20 total, what more could we ask for? I'm officially coming here every time I visit southern Miami. We got the Chicken Pad Thai and the salad with peanut dressing. The pad thai here is on the sweet side, but still very savory! Tastes even better with some added heat from the spice tray for that spicy-sweet flavor. Delicious dish, and one plate satisfied both me and my partner! The salad was also a large portion, enough for 2 people; we were about to order 2 for both of us but the waitress explained that it was a big plate! The peanut dressing was delectable, the creaminess is a great compliment to the crisp vegetables. The atmosphere is kind of dark, like you're eating in an antique type place or a grandma's house. It's clean though, and the servers were very nice. Nothing to complain about, the food is so lovely, overall it was awesome experience here.

Gaby P.

Yelp
As stated by several people, Tani feels like you walked into your Thai neighbor's 1980s decor dining room. It's homie feeling spreads out into big wooden chairs, and folded napkins over white plates. It's charming and private. We were a group of 5 and kept it Family Style dinning by ordering several entrees and sharing. We had Crab Wantons and Spring Rolls for appetizer, delicious and not too greasy, perfectly flaky. For entrees we ordered: -Cocky Bob, this was crisp and light and full of flavor -Disco Shrimp, huge shrimp greatly flavored with veggies - Pineapple Curry Shrimp, very good, strong and bold sweet flavors, you should give it try - Chicken Pad Thai - this was perfect, I didn't want to share They come around and serve generous amount of white rice to accompany all of the sauces and flavors. I really enjoyed our dinner, and will definitely be back.

Abby K.

Yelp
Great food. Fairly priced. Staff is friendly. Take out is easy. Coconut pineapple curry: YUM.

Elyse T.

Yelp
Our favorite take out restaurant. the food is wonderful...all the duck dishes...the noodles...everything
