We recently had Tania's Pizza Cater at our wedding. Communication with Amos up until the event was very easy and helpful. Trevor and Anthony came out on the big day and exceeded expectations, helping in any way they could to make the day even better! Can not thank our favorite pizza place Tania's enough for being so helpful at our wedding! Thank you Tania's team!

We love this place. Unique pizza concept executed so deliciously. I also get their house salad every time and it hits the spot. The Italian dressing is so yum. And of course, staff are always great

I remember the first time I walked into Tania’s Pizza over six and a half years ago. I wasn’t even there for food, but I met Amos, who welcomed me with incredible kindness. He gave me three slices of pizza for free since I had never tried it before. I got into my car, and the amazing aroma filled the air. I couldn’t resist—I ate all three slices right there in the parking lot. I remember thinking, This is really good pizza. Fast forward to today, and I’ve had almost everything on the menu—except Sam’s Hawaiian Pizza and the Veggie Pizza. Every bite over the years has been just as delicious as that first one. I absolutely love this place. Hands down, it’s my favorite pizza spot. If you haven’t tried Tania’s Pizza yet, you are seriously missing out!

Best pizza hands down. I’ve been eating at Tania’s since they had a restaurant in downtown Royal Oak, MI and that was at least 10 years ago. My son and I stopped by yesterday and he even said it himself and he’s not easily impressed lol. Inside it’s a very nice beer, wine, lotto and liquor store and they sell pizza by the slice and pie. The stuffed pizza is so delicious, with sauce and toppings in every bite. Easy lunch or dinner and you can grab a beverage, snacks and whatever else to complete your meal. The staff is friendly and the store is super clean. Y’all better go get one one of these…. It’s a stuffed Tania’s pizza. 🍕 😅

We order through door dash but everything was exactly what we order! Everything was great we had bites and a stuffed pizza. So yummy going back to day

Tania's pizza is amazing. We're vegan and they have an amazing vegan stuffed pizza. They also catered my father's retirement party and all the normal pizzas and the vegan ones were amazing. Great people and great food.

We is there not two people working the counter? She taking orders over the phone doing lottery getting the food and cashing people out. Why is this happening on a weekend were you draw most of your business weekend two girls please find help

I have been going to this establishment for over 20 years! Knew the owner before he retired. He knew my entire family. The store is always well stocked, the food is good, the staff is always pleasant and go out of their way to help you. I'm glad to see how well they have expanded. I just don't like that I moved from behind them to the next city over. I was glad that they still carried the wrap that I wanted and then some. They always have had a great customers as well. Never had an issue going in there anytime of day. Great neighborhood store. Be back soon!!

Great beer selection, good interaction with staff, and love the easy slice to go of their special folded pizza!

I finally got to try Tania's because its take and bake pizzas were on DashMart (on Doordash), and I cooked it at home last night. Tania's had been on my list for a while now, because its stuffed crust is so unique - I don't know anyone else who does it in this area. The DashMart version came with the butter and garlic topping for me to add myself. The pizza was very good. I asked them on Instagram if they sell pepperoni, etc. stuffed pizzas and they said they're actually waiting on USDA approval for that, so for now they only offer cheese. I think it could be improved a bit with pepperoni or other topping offerings but it was very good with just cheese. I'll be stopping by at some point to get a pizza straight from them at some point, since the take and bake one was so good.

What a hidden gem. Looks like just a liquor store from outside. Known for there stuffed pizza tried the "Royal Oaker" Voted best pizza by Motor City Fest in 2014, 2015 and 2017! Mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, ground beef, banana peppers, and onions. With extra garlic butter on top. Wow the garlic butter on top was amazing and highly recommended when ordering. The pizza here is pretty good. I've had it like 4 times now. My co-worker Jody loves it. We always get the stuffed large byo. She's obsessed the ranch. I love that they introduced me to the Super Lxr drink!

This place has been on my radar for awhile. I've heard so many people rave about their stuffed pizza so I had to give it a try. The pizza is unique and absolutely delicious. It's also cooked perfectly in that none of the filling is sliding out of the crust. Their ranch is heaven. I think next time I might get more fillings because it mostly just tasted like the crust in my opinion.

I've gone here for years and I LOVE the stuffed pizza. Ordering online is very easy, staff is always nice. Fully stocked store in addition to the great pizza. If you grew up going to the mall eating stuffed pizza you will not regret this place. And it's better than the mall pizza of course

initial 2/5 review (3 at end) my girlfriend and i have wanted to try tania's for awhile because of their vegan stuffed pizza -- we finally ordered a couple pizzas today. i've had a shit ton of pizzas in my life, and i had reasonably high expectations for this pizza... but it fell flat. the crust is flaccid and oddly, how else do i say it -- spongy. there's a lot of it, it's flavorless (despite the soy butter they use and garlic), and the texture is just off. having it cooked longer could help, but it wouldn't help with my next irk: the sauce isn't good. it doesn't taste like much. there's no "zing" of acidity, it's not salted or at all sweet... it's just sort of there, and very bland. the violife cheese picks up some of the slack, but gooey cheese (or in this case, "cheese") with an underwhelming crust and forgettable sauce just makes for a very mediocre pizza. two large stuffed pizzas delivered ran about $50 (after tip), and it's enough to comfortably feed two people for about four meals, but when the pizza's this bland... would you really want to? i whole heartedly appreciate their violife "cheese" option, but i simply can't help but feel like their stuffed pizza creation is nothing more than a gimmick that gets the attention of children and people with little knowledge/experience/tastings of pizza... for having 35 years of business to date, i was definitely expecting a more flavorful slice. UPDATE: actually a solid 3/5 after i air fried my leftovers. it made a bigger difference than i expected. i guess the solution would just be to have your pizza ordered well done to begin with. they just really gotta work on their sauce recipe, because it tastes like pureed canned tomatoes and nothing else. i'll try tania's out again in the future, after initially writing them off entirely.

This was the 'go-to' pizza place for Royal Oak high/Kimball High for years and now has competition from the Marcos chain that is literally on the same lot as the school. You need to try it, this place is the better option when it comes to quality and options. The stuffed crust is the one you should try, it's filling and has a good garlic/buttery flavor. Order one of the stuffed and alongside the hand tossed or thin to compare it. See for yourself, it's better than what a national chain can provide. Local shop, been around for ages and they run a clean and professional place. You don't last that long without doing pizza and food right. If you are tired of what they do, give it a try, or go down the street to Perrys or another and see some other local places in R.O. and nearby.

I finally had a chance to try this pizza. What can I say just wow, delicious pie with all the goodness inside, now I get what all the buzzing was about. I got double pepperoni and double cheese. Great job guys, cant wait to be on this side of town to try another one

If you happened to walk into Tania's you might pick up a few drinks and leave without ever realizing it's actually home to a unique and fantastic pizza shop. At first glance, it looks like just any other liquor store! After seeing a lot of internet hype around Tania's recently, I decided to stop in and try it out myself to see what all the hype was really about. A few reviews mentioned that there can be long wait times, so I ordered online (which is always great when you can order directly from their website), and went to pick up. When picking up I did end up waiting 5-10 minutes past my pickup time, but it wasn't a huge deal, and I could tell they were having a busy night. I ordered the stuffed Royal Oaker and have 0 regrets. I opted to go for the extra cheese and extra butter (100% would recommend) -- it may not be the healthiest food in the world, but you're not getting stuffed pizza every day, you might as well make it worth it! The stuffed pizza is a really great concept and brings in the best of both Calzones and Pizza. I also got the cheese sticks, and no disappointments there either. The cost overall was really reasonable and the amount of food was easily enough for 2 meals. All in all, I have no hesitations in recommending Tania's Pizza, you have to give the stuffed pizza a try!

Tania's pizza is a diverse treat. Our son loves the stuffed crust for a diversion. The market also has a ton of craft beer selection.

The pizza here is SO good!! A full crust, stuffed, pizza with simple ingredients and delicious garlicy, salty, buttery crust! Its also a liquor store with tons of craft beers and Michigan wines, etc. If what you want isnt there, they are happy to get it for you by special order. LOVE the pizza here! Order at the counter or call it in, either way, quick & delicious.

We ordered a cheese pizza, a stuffed royal oaker, some cheese bread and the garlic bread. The pizzas were wonderful. Not greasy and crispy, which is how we like it. I really dug the stuffed pizza, the parmesan on top reminded me of OG bread sticks. The cheese bread was good. They drop 1 star from me for two reasons, the first being the garlic bread. It just was plain Jane bread. Not sure what I was looking for, but it just wasn't doing it for me. Second, the ranch they gave me tasted weird. Like...too much buttermilk was used in the mix. Other than that, would get the pizza and cheese bread again 100% percent. Edit: I'm amending my original rating and adding a star. The reasons are simple, I'm a schmuck and thought the garlic sauce was ranch, it is not. Their ranch is good.

I learned about Tania's from watching "Live in the D" on channel 4years ago and I bookmarked it. I passed it driving elsewhere and made sure to circle back before heading home. The pizza was all that it was stated to be --a great combination of hot cheese and pepperonis smothered in buttery bread. Next time, I will order and entire pizza because it that good. It's worth the hype.

Very unique pizza with great breadsticks. They are different in that it is a true "pie" with a very thin crust on top. I liked the crust, but I only had pepperoni and quite frankly I didn't taste any pepperoni at all. Cheese and sauce were nice and the crust has a little garlic butter type flavor. I also tried (and loved) the cheese bread with garlic sauce and it was amazing. I'll be back, but I will load up the pizza with ingredients next time.

Had Tania's pizza for the first time. Greek pizza with olive oil instead of red sauce. It was delicious! I will certainly have it again. Maybe I'll try the stuffed pizza, I've heard that is very good too.

They've always been great but with the latest global situation going on right now, they've really been stepping up to take care of the health of their employees and customers while still delivering the same great service. **BE PATIENT WITH THE PROCESS** While ordering for the time being, you need to order online for what you want (pizza, beverages, other snacks, etc.). Fill out the information asked, determine whether you want to pick it up or have it delivered. When you get there after waiting for the time that is required or when they call you and say your order is ready, call them again to let them know you're there and how you arrived. It's a pain but they're doing their absolute best to serve the community and I am truly thankful that they are doing this and saving us from needing to go to the grocery store for alcohol. They also have some pretty amazing pizza too. They don't appear to be accepting the rewards card program right now but that's okay Keep on ordering from Tania's! They're open as much as they can be. Keep them in business!

We tried Tania's stuffed pizza for the first time this weekend and loved it! My wife picked it up, so I can't provide many too details other than to say that when she came home, her first words were, "Five stars!" The pizza was hot and the ingredients were fresh. It was a welcome break from national pizza chains and local chains specializing only in Detroit style.

The people who staff this establishment are lovely. I feel bad leaving this review but need to warn others. I am completely baffled that anyone would eat this pizza more than one time. It's over constructed, tasteless. All oddly textured and barely any filling. It's honestly making me question the quality of my friendships because a close friend recommended this place. The cheese bread is okay.

It's not amazing pizza, but it is very comfy food. Nice saltiness on the crust if you get the stuffed pizza.

I ordered a veggie pizza just to try it out since it had above 4 ratings on yelp. I ordered the 14 inch large pizza, veggie pizza. It Comes with mozzarella, tomato, mushrooms, yellow peppers, onions, Green peppers and Black olives. It was about $15 for the pizza. The price wasn't bad. The pizza was alright, just average. I was questioning whether the best pizza here was their stuffed pizza or the calzones, would they have been better choices than the veggie pizza? The pizzas weren't bad, my husband ate it up, then again he doesn't like food to go to waste either. I had I only a piece since it was carb worthy to eat any more of it. I dint recall eating the crust, if it doesn't look chewy, I tend to pass on it. I have never understood the hype for this place, after trying it once. Maybe I am too picky about what good gourmet pizza should be.

Had to see what all the hype was about, and now I get it! We of course went with the stuffed option and ordered a large-which was plenty of food for two people and enough for lunch leftovers the following few days. You can order online which is convenient just be prepared for it to take an hour to make your order. They are busy for a reason! The Deluxe + pepperoni was excellent and the tania's cheese bread was a perfect addition as well as the antipasto salad with Nikki's greek dressing. The cheese bread comes with a garlic sauce that is out of this world. I could drink it! We ordered our pizza well done which I would recommend if you don't like soggy dough- just enough crisp for a stuffed pizza. They brush the top with a garlic butter and you can always ask for extra. yum! If you are not familiar Tania's is located in a strip mall so be careful not to miss it. This will have to be a new staple in our household!

I have to admit that I wasn't very optimistic about this place, wondering how a pizza from a liquor store can be so good to have so many great reviews. But I was curious about the stuffed one and it took a while but we finally decided to try it. Man, I was SO WRONG!!! Again, I wasn't expecting much (mind you it's a liquor store) but to my surprise the pizza was amazing! I couldn't belive that such a simple concept was executed so well. We went with two medium size stuffed pies, one with pepperoni, onions, mushrooms and tomatoes and second one with mushrooms, onions and vegan cheese. This was by far the best vegan pizza I've had. Huge respect for them for using Violife cheese witch is one of the best choices for vegan cheese. Most places use cheep Dayia which is terrible and many times I opt for no cheese. Tumbs up for it! Please don't change it! The pizza was delicious! Perfectly melted inside, good ratio of toppings and dough. And the garlic salt on top makes it even better. The dough is kinda "bready" if can give it a comparison and I don't think I would like the regular pizza with this dough but it works perfectly for the stuffed version. I didn't had a chance to check items inside the store, I was just there to pickup pizza and the staff was very friendly. Who would think a pizza from liquor store can be so good but they definitely hook me into it and I'll be a regular customer now!

I can't remember when I last had a pizza this good.! Next time I have a craving, I'll know where to go.

This place is everything! I would drive 4 hours for this any day. It's always so fresh and delicious. 10/10 would recommend.

Please go back to using actual butter on the crust... that is my only complaint about Tanias. I just don't understand why you would drop your standards and use something inferior that the dime-a-dozen pizza chains use... it's gross. And your pizza tasted so much better with the real stuff.

Recently having moved to Royal Oak from the west coast I have been exploring multiple places to make my spot. Well I think I found my pizza home! I was helped by Jay who handed me a complimentary slice when I mentioned it was my first time. He was super friendly along with the other staff members. Not only does this place have excellent food, it's practically a corner store with some of the best craft alcohol selection around. A 2 for 1 combo. Tania's is life

200th review!!! I gotta say this place is original. I haven't had this style pizza anywhere else. It's not Chicago style, it's an actual giant stuffed pizza.

Pretty good pizza - nothing mind blowing. We ordered the meat lovers hand tossed. It was $26 for a large with some sauces. They offer curbside pickup which is nice for the cold weather.

Tania has super friendly guys selling dirt cheap pizza that is nothing like any of the masses of other pizza shops that I have tried in Detroit. Here, they put the crust underneath and also on top - so it's like a pie - and then they put the goodies in the middle. Like Ciara would have. Detroit has the very best pizza, but Tania is a little different, but still excellent - and so, so dirt cheap. It wasn't the best I had in the city, but considering that it is around $1.50 for a slice and considering how friendly they are, and that they serve slices late at night when many don't, I will definitely give them five stars. Plus, most importantly, it's yummmmm. So try it. Ohhhh. And it's also a Liquor Store. Why? Because this is the Detroit area. They must have more Liquor Stores per capita than any place I've ever been in my life. And it's owned by Tania Lieder and Tania Harding, and close to a tanning salon, so you can Tania body all over, either before or after your slices.

Had a regular veggie pizza with vegan violife cheese. Violife is the best vegan cheese there is, and i love that they have curbside pick up and wear masks. Highly recommend, finished it before I could even snap a picture.

Honestly I saw an article in the detroit news about the best pizza places jn metro detroit and Tania's was at the top of the list. I feel like I'm a good judge of pizza and I eat a lot of pizza and I had never even heard of it. The reviews are really good, but I was pretty disapppointed. I wouldn't even put them in my top 10 in the area. There are so many places that are so much better. I got a stuffed pizza and I would much rather have ordered a chain pizza like jets. This pizza doesn't compare to tomatoes a pizza or crispellis, and also doesn't compare to comos or Loui's.

Flavorful, garlickly (if you so choose), indulgent, consistent, crust-filled pizza! Let's face it, excellent crust is kind of what makes the pizza, and Tanias does it the right way!! And you can choose just how done you want the crust- which is absolutely perfect because everyone has a preference for wanting it more or less brown/ crispy/ well done.... I always choose well done and I'm NEVER disappointed. It's a little hike in the wall spot that I'm super happy to have happened upon. Caution: yes the pizza shop is inside what looks like a liquor store lol (I was quite confused when I first went to pick up my pie ) and I just love that u can have crust surrounding the rest of the pizza contents. I will never not order this option when I go to Tanias!!

Pizza was very unusual. Crust on both sides. Pizza came out piping hot and was cut in pie fashion. Ingredients seemed fresh and flavors were good. We weren't fond of this type of pizza. We found it a little dry. If we lived in area and tried this a few more times we may have developed a liking for it. I'm not saying it wasn't good but I'm saying it wasn't our preference in pizza style. I would recommend you try this and find out for yourself. If I were to order this again I would order with heavy pizza sauce on the pizza as opposed to on the side. Service was excellent and people were very friendly.

We ordered meatball subs and cheese bread that were incredible. The garlic sauce is mind blowing, make sure to order extra.

The stuffed pizza was awesome!! Service was great. It was highly recommend to me and after try I have too agree.

I would love to be able to give this place a 3 1/2 stars. I really like their stuffed pizza. It has the perfect amount of crust. It's not heavy by any means. The cheese they use it quite meaty which is always a plus. The toppings are tasty and they add a good amount to the pizza. The one draw back is the never seems to be enough sauce which perplexes me. I think if they add more sauce and seasoning to the inside of the pizza I would be off my diet- quick, fast and in a hurry. Their kinda on the high end of alcohol prices. I say this because every thing seems to be at least $1 more than other places. The dust on the bottles of wine tell me other people probably think so as well.

Tanias is a Royal Oak area staple! It's a pizza place inside a liquor store that offers something no one else in the area does. STUFFED PIZZA! It's been a go to of mine for the past 8 years or so .... can't believe I haven't reviewed them before! Trick - eat your slice upside down... all the flavors!

That new girl up front is such a sweet heart and has the best personality ever! Perfect people in a perfect place!

My absolute hands down favorite pizza place! They have vegan cheese and it's life changing good! I always get the stuffed pizza and I can barely type this review because my mouth is watering at how good it is haha!

The pizza was pretty good. If you order from here definitely get the stuffed pizza they're known for, the regular pizza wasn't that great. The stuffed pizza reminds me of a mix between a Stromboli and a calzone. The garlic sauce is more of a bourison cheese. Very mild and not offensively overpowering, smooth, creamy and delicious.

Really good and different than most others. I'd call it the 2nd best Pizza in town, only behind Louis. But Louis is Detroit style deep dish and this is stuffed thin crust. This is a party store in a small strip mall that makes carry out only pizza. Imagine 2 crispy thin crusts stuffed with a slightly spicy pepperoni, cheese, sauce, etc. Then they sprinkle it with garlic salt. The store itself is small but has a very nice selection of wines and beer, all very reasonably priced. It's nice and quaint. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great place for carry out pizza.

Order now. I can't have dairy so I really appreciate when you can order dairy free cheese, like so much. I'm not vegan so I did get a stuffed meat lovers with dairy free cheese but it was really good. Vegan cheese sucks compared to the real deal so when you have everything come together nicely it's really impressive. If you're favorite part is the crust like me you'll really enjoy the stuffed pizza.
