Two Portland Restaurants Nab Major Wine Accolades | Eater Portland

"After the unexpected closure of the Tannery Bar, the space will become a family-friendly pizzeria called Oly’s Pizza from the owners of the now-closed Red Fig on NE Fremont; the pizzeria will keep the patio for dine-in pizzas, offer beer and wine (no spirits), and is expected to open August 1." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

A Car Crashed into Tannery Bar This Morning | Eater Portland

"The Oregonian reports that early this morning a car crashed into the front of the Tannery Bar on East Burnside after a collision around 7:19 a.m. in North Tabor involving a TriMet bus and a sports wagon; TriMet hasn’t confirmed whether the bus was in service, and the driver of the car was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. I first learned of the damage when Oregonian critic Michael Russell posted an Instagram photo showing the car smashed through the bar’s window. Co-owner Andrew Shepherd said they’re “still trying to piece it together” but hopes the bar won’t have to close for repairs, adding that “right now, we’ve got our dude in here prepping” and they’re hoping to have a portion of the business open today." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

My beautiful wife and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary at the Tannery as we have been doing for the last couple years. The food is always excellent! The dining area is always clean and has a nice warm and comfortable feel to it. You can dress formal or not and still feel very welcome with the great staff. We had the broiled haddock and the chicken marsala for dinner. Both very good. The haddock was a little heavy with the lemon pepper seasoning but still very good. Perfect texture. The chicken was so tender and juicy and not overloaded with sauce as some places do. The tater tots were crispy and done the way tots should be done! Yum! Very reasonable prices on everything.

Appetizer empanadas were frozen that were probably air fried (burnt). Definitely store-bought. Wine tasted As if the bottle had been open for a month. Ruben was burnt. Waitress was extremely nice. And hostess was very kind. Overall, food was a disappointment but very lovely people.

Quiet night at Tannery's. Hanna provided great service. Had chili, cheesy flatbread and a grilled chicken salad. Ended the night with a light cake with fresh fruit topping and coffee. Located right next store to the Comfort Inn. Very handy.

Yelp
Great appetizer and wonderful beer battered haddock at the Tannery. We got the Tannery chips, regular size, and we loved them. They came out hot and with ranch dressing they were even better! We also tried the potstickers, and they were just ok. We shared the beer battered fish with onion rings and coleslaw. The fish was wonderful! The onion rings were good and the coleslaw was average. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. The room could be great but had an odd layout. It also felt like a big room they were not sure how to put the tables and chairs. I think we will be back for sure for fish on Fridays during Lent
