Tanta - Review - San Isidro - Lima - The Infatuation

"Tanta is easy, homey food with a creative twist. The restaurant that Gastón Acurio and Astrid Gutsche dreamed up has a wide-ranging menu full of reinvented recipes. There are nostalgic birthday chicken sandwiches, causa limeña with tuna just like grandma used to make, and a fancy version with shrimp, plus hearty tacu tacu of rice and beans, and oven-roasted chicken that tastes like Sunday lunch. It’s a spacious, sunlit dining room (the very first is this San Isidro location, but many more now live across Lima) where the coffee machine hums to life at breakfast, and Astrid’s pastries, like chocolate cakes, suspiros de limeña, and alfajores fresh from the oven, promise a sweet afternoon. And if they have turrón de Doña Pepa on offer, don’t miss it." - Paola Miglio

This restaurant is spectacular, with a very extensive menu and so many wonderful choices, the portions are quite large! The price I would say is medium, the quality is good and the portions are large so the value is good. It's a nice establishment as well, you have a really large bar, an extensive cocktail menu, and the pastries are amazing, if you want dessert! I didn't even have room for anything more after my main course, I'll have to return for dessert… But highly recommended!

A restaurant in a mall? That would sound like a good place to taste Peruvian food. Quite the opposite! Tanta is quite a good choice to try different dishes from Peruvian Cuisine (whicho, by the way, is among the best in the world). I tried three different dishes, and they were all really good and the portions are very well served. They also have good options for alcoholic and non-acoholic drinks. Since I´d been drinking pisco the whole week I went for their frui juices, and they were really refreshing. I cannot speak for all desserts, as I did not have any but one: tres leches - it was quite exquisite as well. Well, in terms of cost, a meal, with a drink, dessert and coffee cost me BRL 120.00 (AUD 30.00; USD 20.00). Cheap? I would say I would not be able to eat out frequently, but considering the service provided plus the quality and amount of food I had I would it was pretty fair. Serving staaff is also well-trained, and super friendly. Therefore, when I return to Lima, I will definetely come eat here again.

This location is located walking distance from the Doubletree Hotel in San Isidro. We have had dinner twice. The lomo and tallerin saltado were delicious. Coming from the US and having this Peruvian dish in several restaurants, this place by far was tasteful. I would dine here again and again, when I return to Peru. 🇵🇪 Their lomo is roughly $17.00

Good service, and fast. Traditional lomo saltado was quite nice, with the perfect cooking, as requested, and meat really tender. Staff was very attentive

It is one of the fancy places and might wait to get a seat here. I tried spaghetti and salad here. While spaghetti was average. The salad was one of the best I ever had. I absolutely loved it. The ambiance is really nice too.

This was just walking distance from my hotel and I really wanted to taste a traditional Peruvian soup. I'm happy they spoke English as well and it was much more lively given I went in November. The food was good well put together and i like the fact that certain things were on the side so you could add to your comfort level. I would definitely recommend being as they have a wide array of meals to choose from
