"This restaurant is named after Koosje Edema, once a prominent figure in this lovely village. Her former home is now a magnet for foodies. The old-world interior is cosy and charming, with soft ambient lighting and antique furnishings creating an intimate atmosphere. As for the terrace by the church… In fine weather, you could feel yourself transported to the Mediterranean! Drawing on a wealth of experience, versatile chef Roland Veldhuijzen is making his mark on this magnificent location with good old-fashioned culinary expertise, showcasing his wonderful vinaigrettes and flavoured olive oils. For instance, he elevates a dish of veal tartare and pan-seared langoustine with an exquisite ponzu vinaigrette, as well as a beurre noisette and foie gras cream. He occasionally gives his creations a modern twist, but it is the refined traditional techniques that really bring out their intensity. Tante Koosje would be proud of her successors." - Michelin Inspector

Such a great restaurant in a pretty village. We took 5 courses menu and everything was very delicious. Sea bass and sweetbread oxtail have been our favorite dishes. We also had North Sea crab, filet americain and sirloin of beef. Sparkling rose is absolutely recommended as an appetizer. Staff were kind and welcoming. Definitely worth to book a table!

I celebrated my birthday dinner with dearest family and friends earlier this year. The chef graciously agreed to prepare a traditional Beef Wellington which was nothing short of superb and excellent. Actually the whole menu was first class as was the service. What an amazing group of dedicated professionals. Just went back for dinner for one and wow wow wow what an outstanding gastronomic experience. Merci beaucoup Chef and Maitre D for making me feel at home away from home. Such extraordinary gastronomy!!!

we had a great evening in a very beautiful place. everything was great: attentive waiters, everything was served on time, very tasty, proper serving of wine, a good choice, we took deal 4 meals, and in the end we got even more. It's quiet and peaceful, a great place for a romantic evening. The atmosphere is wonderful

Amazing outdoor seating. Recommend for romantic summer evenings. Traditional Dutch interior with an amazing wine cellar on the top floor. Most of the staff was super friendly. The sommelier forgot to serve one of our guests or served the wrong wines. The food was good, but some courses were not great. Presentation was smashing. One of the deserts fell apart when serving. Horrible coffee, but we loved the honey covered madeleines that came with it. Could be five stars, maybe they had a bad day.

I might be a bit biased because this restaurant and its team are very dear to me, but I have travelled to many countries where I have tried a lot of dinning spots and so I am objectively going to reflect on my -and my partner’s experience: - the food was excellent, every dish gave us a new palette of tastes and was building up to the following. The design, colour contrasts and textures made a very satisfying balance in every dish. - the team was super friendly and informative, and always one step before we ask for something, - the tempo of the dishes was great! Gave us room to enjoy each taste separately before moving on to the next.

It was good but expected more. Staff was good and cozy, small atmosphere inside. Less formal but expect a bit more neatness for instance when pouring wine for table and drops of wine everywhere. Previous Michelin experiences was taste sensations, for me this was not at this level. It was good fine dining but nothing more, comparable to Slange vecht but nothing like Amsterdammertje.

Feels like we're in a cozy French restaurant with delicious dishes and friendly service, while it's a one star restaurant but it has an easy going attitude and that makes the dining experience unique. The wine pairing is really nice, even now I still remember how tasty the combination of the wine and the food 😋

Yelp
Sorry, but "Meh." High prices with a below average selection and fair service, at best, make this Michelin Star one that can be skipped.
