Nashville’s New Restaurant Openings - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Tantísimo began as a farmers market pop-up in 2020, selling Latin American pastries and baked goods. But now, they’ve got their very own place in Sylvan Park where they dole out boozy pisco sours and dishes from all around Latin America, like a grilled queijo in chomoy fermented honey and churrasco steak topped with chimichurri. You can also swing by in the morning for breakfast tacos and espresso." - jackie gutierrez jones 2

Nice portions, most everything was really tasty. Wasn’t sooooo crazy about the yuca with mushrooms…a little bland. It’s also a little on the expensive side to me for what it is. A little over $50 each with no alcohol. Will be back again tho - we like supporting local. Waiter was great and so was the decaf. 👍🏽

Very limited parking so I parked on the street in the neighborhood and walked over, was promptly sat by the host at the bar and all of the staff was so friendly! And explained all the dishes and drinks to me. I ordered the lions mane steak which was delicious! The drinks were very well crafted as well. This restaurant is honestly way too fancy for West nashville! Will be back! I love it P.s their bathroom mirror has touch screen lighting control for selfies lol

Barbra D.

Google
Barbra with Offline - Server was great! She was very knowledgeable about the menu. We had a lot of questions and she was very patient with us so I appreciate that. We ordered the steak taco, fish taco, short rib, and halibut. The halibut was my favorite ! 10 out of 10. Short rib was great too. Very tender and juicy. The tacos were pretty good as well. The cocktails were my favorite part. We had the “sol de Cuba” and the “pisco sour.” Both were delicious. I would def come back for happy hour. The happy specials are awesome. I consider myself a foodie but I never heard of this restaurant before I joined Offline restaurant club, so shoutout to offline for introducing me to another local gem.

Almost everything here is naturally gluten free because it's made with corn. The enchilada was the best! Everything was good, server was knowledgeable about all the dishes.

Patti S

Google
Gluten free friends, so many delicious options to choose from. The server we had was very knowledgeable and used an app to check the ingredients of the dishes. The menu changes often but I will say, it was all delicious! It's also a bit spicier than you may want so be ready.

When I say this place is 15/10, I mean it! The atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the EXCELLENT food made me come back again the next day for brunch! I went for dinner for my birthday this past weekend and got 6 different things and not one of them disappointed in any way. The food is so flavorful and fresh and leaves you wanting to tell all your friends to RUN and try it. Some highlights were the clarified pina colada, the enchilada and their take on elote, but everything was absolutely fabulous. I will definitely be back again soon and am so glad to have this amazing place in Nashville!

Google
Tantisimo is amazing. The servers & bartenders / baristas are always friendly. I took my boomer midwestern parents here during soft opening and they said it’s their favorite place I’ve taken them in Nashville!!! I didn’t think it would be possible for their food to get better, but now that they’ve been open a few months it has. Personally, I like coming here for weekday lunch and weekend breakfast/brunches. The coffee offerings are criminally underrated. The chilaquiles (add chorizo) are enough for 2 people and the best I’ve had in my life. Don’t sleep on tomato season either! The tomato salad with queso fresco is a delight. Also points for the pup friendly shaded patio. Lots of fans keep it cool. Dogs couldn’t be happier.

My wife and I visited Tantísimo last night for dinner and we smiled all the way through dinner. The service with Lauren was fantastic and the food was amazing. We ate on the early side and caught the end of happy hour (that was a nice surprise) so we started with the chicken empanadas (aka empanadas de pollo) and chips and salsa. They were both really good and we each had a drink before eating the next plates. I had a red wine and my wife had the SOS 10 (koch mezcal, dolin dry vermouth, luxardo bianco and lemon) - she loved her drink. I also loved my wine. For my next plate, I had the Churrasco Steak with chimichurri which was cooked to perfection and so good and my wife had the Pollo Enrollado and loved it. I love how they feature foods and drinks from different Latin American locales and provide the country that the food comes from - it was really cool. And yes, we had dessert - we shared the flan and the panaderia board of cookies. We very rarely eat dessert, but had to try it here based on our dinner. It did not disappoint. We loved the flan and the assortment of cookies were yummy. The lattes were also really good. Sometimes coffee can be a disappointment at a restaurant but not here - it was really great. The vibe at Tantísimo is super chill and everything from the table settings to the plates have a sort of artsy and "homey" feeling. And our server, Lauren, she was friendly and insightful and really added to the great experience we had. We will be back for sure.

Yelp
Everything was amazing! It's so cute in here. Ana and her staff were kind and well informed. We got a full run down of the menu (you can opt out if you want). There were two of us and we shared everything except we each got our own enchilada (iykyk). So good. The steak was delicious, empanadas delicious. The flan was such a favorite for me and I don't typically like flan. It made me dance in my seat. You can't go wrong, order everything!

Yelp
Tantisimo is a delightful neighborhood Latin American spot. The earthy interior design makes it a comfortable dining experience. It's a smaller space, but both times I've gone, it's not been crowded. The food is delicious, and to my surprise the coffee is amazing. In some cases the portion sizes & the prices don't seem to match, but it wouldn't keep me from returning. They include the 20% gratuity automatically. There are a couple of parking spots in front of the building, but street parking the neighborhood is an option. Love: happy hour fish taco (the best fish taco I've ever had); chicken empanada (comes with delicious spicy sauce); Mexican Vanilla latte (balanced flavor, one of the best lattes around) Like: service (kind); Elote corn (delicious with the right amount of citrus, small portion for the price); Chilaquiles (great flavor, chips didn't hold their crunch from the kitchen to the table)

Yelp
WOW. Bring your wallet! And prepare yourself for some of the best Mexican food anywhere ! The raw scallops are absolutely fantastic and taste like the ocean The bread with chorizo butter is to die for The Chicken with Red Mole is possibly the best Mole dish I've had anywhere... it rivals the likes of Sazon in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which is one of the greatest restaurants in the country. I have a feeling that everything on the menu is incredible so I can't wait to try everything since this restaurant is just about a mile from where I live in The Nations (Sylvan Park) I'm excited to try the breakfast tacos and the happy hour !! By the way, the cocktails are absolutely phenomenal as well The enchilada has a beautiful sauce. It's tiny, but so tasty. On second thought don't come here. It's already too crowded and you probably will think it's too expensive. Go to Taco Bell

Yelp
Drinks were excellent, I would go back for those alone! Food was tasty, elevated and fresh. Service was good. I recommend making a reservation especially on a weekend. Parking is limited but there are plenty of street parking spots within walking distance though so it was not a problem. Even with a low tolerance for spicy foods I enjoyed everything we ordered.
google avatar

Marvin R.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing and can tell they take pride of what they're making. It's an art. Even as simple as the chorizo butter there was much thought put into it. Empanadas were delicious & filled with spices. Definitely should come for happy hour & get steak tacos. Our server, Jose was a delight to communicate with & explained the menu well. If you're looking for a great spot with authentic Latin recipes. This is the place to go. Will be back.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Nashville Unpaid ad. I haven't been to every restaurant in Nashville, but I've been to a bunch and Tantisimo is my favorite. Tuna crudo, churrasco, chupe de camarones, and most recently the short rib. All fantastic. Go get you some.
google avatar

Nora V.

Yelp
IF YOU HAVEN'T eaten here yet YOU ARE MISSING OUT!! Get the bolillo and chorizo butter is a MUST!! We ordered almost everything off the menu and CLEANED every plate. The agua chile is ridiculously tasty! The steak was cooked to perfection and well seasoned! I had NO IDEA I liked MOLE! I DO!! The enchiladas was incredible. The chef - Josh - sent over a corn, zucchini, queso fresco appetizer and OMG!! We just ordered two desserts to seal the deal THIS place is approximately 20 minutes from the downtown Nashville TN but well worth the drive. Oh and if you want to practice or learn some dancing moves make sure to attend on Tuesdays!!

Yelp
I've tried Tantisimo's food at the farmer's market and was so excited when they opened this brick & mortar in Sylvan Park neighborhood with both outside and inside seating. Tantisimo serves up farm-to-table elevated Latin American cuisine from breakfast tacos to Brazilian steak. Tantisimo has a full bar with impressive, experienced bartenders. The staff at the farmer's market have always been excellent, and I found the same at the restaurant. Their work culture seems like a well-oiled machine, and I even saw them have a small birthday dessert and song for a staff member celebrating his 34th the next day. When each dish was served to us, the lady explained it in detail. Tantisimo does have happy hour dishes, and although we arrived past happy hour, at the bar seating only you're able to order the food specials all day (like gluten-free chicken empanadas). Save room for dessert! The flan was my favorite: smoky, crunchy, and delicate. Sylvan Park has free parking, and you can easily visit Richland Park or McCabe Greenway before your meal to work up an appetite.

Yelp
I'll just come out and say it: Going to Tantisimo made me exponentially cooler. I went on Sunday, and by Monday I overheard my coworkers talking by the water cooler, saying that over the weekend I seem to have developed a "chill, funky, vibe." (?) I guess there's something in the water (liquor) at Tantisimo that fundamentally alters a person for the swankier. Be it the terracotta toned accents or the waitstaff that all look like they could be in a band, there is a palpable grooviness to the joint. To sip, I chose the Margaret (bartender's recommendation for the closest thing to a Margarita). It was the perfect summer cocktail in my book - lime-y, fresh, with salt on the rim. I would like one everyday, thank you. My compadre was "tickled" (his words) by the Pisco Sour. I sipped it, daintily, and thought it was, ¿cómo se dice? "yum!" That is, if you enjoy drinking egg... which I only tend to do when it's conditioning season for my boxing match with Appollo Creed. We were too curious to pass up ordering the Bebida Rosita, as it included "bubblegum shrub" which was aptly described to us as tasting reminiscent of Hubba Bubba. It reminded me of kombucha, like maybe if you put a piece of ABC gum in a kombucha bottle and left it there for a little while. Suffice to say, weirdly good. The drinks were top notch, and I'd love to return for a bite.

Yelp
Delicious! Our happy table of four got quite an array of entrees, mocktails, cocktails, and wine. Loved every bite of it! Definitely go and you'll have a great experience.

Yelp
Another win for a Richland Park Farmer's market stand turned brick & mortar! Don't know what it is about Richland Park Farmer's market, but it's been an incubator for some of the best new restaurants in Nashville for the past few years. Tantisimo is no exception with punchy, flavorful Latin American food with an upscale vibe. I've had the pleasure of dining here twice for breakfast, first solo and then bringing my mom to try all the goods. The menu is meat-forward, but adaptable for vegetarians and the helpful servers have guided me through the menu really thoughtfully both times I've been. Standout items are the Ludacrisp quesadilla and the empanadas de pollo - both incredible flavor with spicy, flavor-bomb sauces to accompany them. I'm not usually a fan of chorizo but I'm so glad I got the quesadilla based on the recommendation of one of the servers. The chorizo is light compared to others I've tried (doesn't feel overly fatty or greasy but still has great flavor.) The cheese crust on the quesadilla should go viral, it's so perfect! Other food items we loved: the chilaquiles and the breakfast burrito. In general, I did find the food a little spicy, but I liked that, so keep in mind if you are spice-averse you may want to ask the kitchen to tone it down when you order. The churro blondie met a sweet itch but it was the least interesting of the dishes I've tried. Do NOT miss the coffee drinks if you are coming here for breakfast or brunch. Both drinks I've gotten have been FABULOUS and unique - a creamy and sweet dulce de leche latte for my mom and the NOT sweet but perfectly smoky and decadent mochatismo (mocha latte) for me. Compared to other mochas I've had, it was just so unique - not sweet, little bit of chili powder and true cocoa flavor making it smoky and delicious. Absolutely would come purely for this drink. I haven't tried dinner or happy hour yet but took a look at the menus with the help of one of the servers and already know I want to come back for those with friends. The happy hour deals in particular look amazing. Private parking is limited, as is typical of restaurants in this neighborhood but there is plenty of street parking in the neighborhood directly around the restaurant. Patio is covered, which is a nice bonus for these hot TN summers and means I'll likely bring my dog at some point! Such a gem and wishing this restaurant all the success, as I think it provides unique and different flavors than what we have in the surrounding area and has been on of the first new restaurants in a while I've been really excited about!

Yelp
I was introduced to Tantismo during a visit to the Richland Park Farmer's Market last year. Every time I'd go back my first stop would be with them to get a taco before I started shopping lol. So, when I heard they were opening a brick & mortar location, I knew I had to stop by. The breakfast tacos were just as good as I remember at the market, but maybe even better?! They were spicier than I remembered though, so if you are sensitive to spice, keep this in mind. I'm a fan of heat though, and the kick fades fast. The fresh squeezed OJ was good. Service was excellent. I'll be back again to try other things. Pacing is relaxed, a la, relax & enjoy your time here.

Yelp
Ceviche, short rib, chimichurri steak, enchilada. Cannot go wrong here. Every dish was so thoughtful and flavorful. I will be back. Cocktails also delicious and brought a fresh menu that I don't see other places!

Yelp
Can't wait to try the brick and mortar! We've been to the farmers market multiple times just to get their breakfast tacos. They are a holy experience. Best chorizo we've ever had!!
google avatar

Gianna B.

Yelp
Amazing food and will definitely be back! The quality, presentation and taste was phenomenal. The outside patio was lovely, clean and comfortable. Our server, Warren, was incredibly detailed and explained everything thoroughly and was very kind! Overall an amazing experience!

Yelp
We've been twice to this friendly, pan-Latín neighborhood spot, each time thinking that the service and creative, thoughtful menu and cocktail/wine list combined to make one of the best dining experiences weve had in Nashville in our 15 years here. The blending of different Latin countries' ingredients and techniques is very thoughtful and surprising and exciting to the palate. Jose, our waiter on the most recent visit, really knew which wine to pair with the crazy selections of smll bites and entrees that we all shared. The place has the cozy feel of small restaurants we've enjoyed in South America....and, on the night we were there, they moved some tables aside and let the diners try salsa dancing. Parking is limited so you might want to ride-share there, and note that the check already includes 20-percent gratuity, which Jose kindly pointed out before we gave him our credit cards. I'd mention details of the food but the menu changes all the time....just know there are plenty of choices between land and sea critters, all of them energetically spiced and paired with fresh fruits and vegetables and citrus-centric sauces. Several dishes have a sunny, Caribbean flare to them.

Be G.

Yelp
We loved our meal here - 3 small plates, shared an entree, dessert, and 2 cocktails. Great flavors and presentation. We appreciated the reasonable-sized portions (i.e. not 2000 calories on a plate). We were full, but not stuffed. A few notes, for first-timers. 1: A few of the menu descriptions don't quite tell you enough about the dish. Feel free to ask what things are. 2: The shrimp-and-aguachile is spicy. Not death-hot, but it'll make your face red. Be prepared. If you follow it with the tomato-and-queso-fresco dish, your mouth will be happy. 3: This is not priced like low-rent Mexican food. But it was worth it.
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
Great new spot in Sylvan park. We really enjoyed the food and the fun! I look forward to going back and trying so many more great options!
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
Decided to meet a friend here for breakfast. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves for the first 20 mins. Our server was very attentive. The menu is small but all Latin American flavors. Nice decorated restaurant with a modern but colorful flare. I ordered the Chilaquiles and my friend got the tacos. Everything is made fresh to order and was delicious. I especially loved the iced latte. No sweetener needed! Please support this local business. It was worth it! There isn't parking on site, but a lot of free street parking nearby.

Rhonda H.

Yelp
I've ordered here many times. I always get the breakfast tacos. This time I was so disappointed. The food was picked up at 11:15 and wasn't delivered until 45 minutes later. I live only 5 miles from the location. When we finally received the cold food I noticed we only had 2 tacos for each order, and we used to get 3 tacos per order. Plus the price didn't change to reflect the food reduction. I guess I won't be ordering here any more.

James R.

Yelp
Breakfast! Chilaquiles!Wow! We love this place.... Great service, great atmosphere. Eat local!
google avatar

Katelyn B.

Yelp
We went back for brunch! Not pictured: drip coffee and Tantisimocha, which they can make decaf!!! Loved it, so happy to have Tantisimo in our neighborhood.
google avatar

Lyn H.

Yelp
Tried this place out for the first time during brunch. The dulce de Leche latte is perfect not too sweet. The breakfast Burrito and chilaquiles so good! The sauce was spicy and seasoned well. Great service and the decor on point. We be back soon.
google avatar

Don A.

Yelp
There were three of us and we ordered literally everything on the menu. Everything was good some dishes were GREAT. The steak and the tar tar were truly special but all was good. The Pisco sour is the best I've had outside of Lima.
google avatar

Valerie M.

Yelp
I'm THRILLED! That bread, the enchilada, the steak, the flan?!!! I was too excited to remember to take photos for our main courses, but so glad I captured this because let me tell you, the flan and cake were totally out of this world. I'm not even a dessert person! I had low expectations as the restaurant is not technically even open yet, but this restaurant gives the comfort of a local spot while still hitting the taste of farm to table and the luxury of fine dining (re. Wait staff coursing your meal, new cutlery and plates every course, etc). The steak and enchilada were amazing. I'd go and get an enchilada for lunch - 9 dollars? Unbelievable. Don't even get me started on the bread and chimichurri garlic butter. Such a YUMMY spot and I can't wait to go back for the official open. Thank you to our waiter, Patrick!

H C.

Yelp
Brand new restaurant in West Nashville, Richland Park area. Latin inspired fare, farm to table fresh. Chefs Josh and Xavier have some yummy things going on! Had the steak with chimichurri. Excellent flavor. Tender, delicious. The poblano Caesar salad was huge. R and I shared, both eating out of the bowl. I do not recommend sharing the enchilada. You want one all for yourself. The roasted carrots and beets dish was a wonderful combination. The bolillo bread is made fresh in house. It came with an ample amount of creamy ramp butter that was really tasty. The fresh trout was butterflied and grilled. One side is basted with smokey salsa Verde, the other with a spicy salsa roja. R and I shared that too. Perfection! Highly recommend!! Reservations are not required but I do recommend them. The hottest was very friendly and sat us immediately. The wait staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. It's not overly loud. Great atmosphere, everyone seemed to be excited with the new restaurant, and happy to be there. We will definitely be back for more!

Eric A.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed with the evening. Server confused our order with other tables, brought out main meal first, then the appetizers. Drinks were slow and came out so far apart it was unenjoyable to drink while the other member of the party was still waiting (30 mins) for theirs. Waiter seemed like he was pushing us out, not taking the time to tell us about the menu and options; very much a "what do you want experience". Apparently there were specials on the menu that our waiter didn't even tell us about. Four plates and three drinks; because the fourth came by the same time as the check... not worth the nearly 200 bucks. Save your time and go somewhere else
google avatar

Sena A.

Yelp
This place was absolutely fantastic. We had the "Tallow, Herb, Acid" meat with chimichurri which was very tender and cooked perfect. we also got the mole chicken which was my favorite - sooo much flavor wow. For desert we got the hibiscus one that my fiancé said was one of the best deserts he has ever had. Definitely recommend!

Ashley S.

Yelp
The food is always delicious and the ingredients are top quality! We love that our farmers market fave has a place we can enjoy whenever we want to now. Can't wait to go back and try the daytime menu

Andrew M.

Yelp
Local friends raved about this place but they must have gone on a quiet weekday because we went this past Fri and they were overrun. They had us sit outside and we had 4 different people serve us. We ordered 4 items and each came about 10 min apart if not further apart even though some were hot and others cold items. They apologized and said they "got into a pickle" but never offered us a complimentary drink or item despite the fact they had a required 20% gratuity...Very disappointing though he vision for the cuisine is ambitious. They don't have that many items on the menu so not sure why they struggled so much. Also I ordered the churrasco medium rare and it came out rare... Their beer choices were unusual and I enjoyed a nice cold Guatamalen choice but the mojito ant caiprinha were just ok. Hoping they can get it together.

Jeanette S.

Yelp
The food was great and extremely fresh new take on Latin American. Service was excellent as well. Went for brunch. Will be back for dinner.

Yelp
best brunch i've ever had in my life!! my friend and i adore the farmers market tacos and horchata so we knew we had to stop in. the servers and hostess were so sweet and kind and we especially adored merari who recognized us from the market! the drinks were INCREDIBLE, especially the lime and coconut americano. ofc the breakfast tacos were amazing as expected, but the chilaquiles and empanadas truly blew us away. immediately recommended to everyone in my contacts list and im already dying to come back. 5 stars are simply not enough
google avatar

C K.

Yelp
Just went here during their soft opening and was blown away. Every dish was fresh and flavorful--even the bread and butter was outstanding. The drinks were perfect. It's a place that you want to come back to, with such an inviting, neighborly feel. I hope it's here to stay.

Samantha L.

Yelp
We came for breakfast and had the quesadilla and breakfast burrito, with an iced dulce de latte and iced vanilla latte. Everything was fantastic! Quesadilla and iced dulce de latte are must-orders. Love this place and will be back!

CJ G.

Yelp
Food was overall good, and was a nice environment. Pricing was fairly reasonable until the bill came and an automatic 20% service charge for the "house" arrived where we informed it didn't go to server and we needed to tip extra if the server was to receive tip. We were a table of 2 not a large party. Bad business model.

Bob M.

Yelp
Amazing! Food is incredible for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Love that they are open for breakfast! They've done an amazing job with the space and decor. Great service too! Hope this is a neighborhood staple for a long time.

Wilson B.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've had in years. As a native Arizonan, the authentic Latin-ness spoke to my soul! This place is the real deal. 5*.

Holly S.

Yelp
truly delicious, great service, beautifully designed restaurant, and a wonderful breakfast! highly recommend! we split the breakfast burrito and pancakes

Allie S.

Yelp
We were so excited to try this new, local spot! The ambiance was nice and the food was absolutely delicious! Hope was an amazing server and was so knowledgeable in both the food menu and drink menu. We got the bread with chorizo butter, enchilada, and the steak to share. Everything was fresh and delicious! We also loved all of the ample FREE parking which is always hard to find in Nashville. Definitely will be coming back!
