Boston Restaurant Industry Vet Bekah Powers Speaks of Leaving the Industry and Opening an Art Gallery | Eater Boston

"Part of the same Brewster property, this offering consists of two Japanese-inspired suites rented on Airbnb where guests can enjoy a traditional Japanese breakfast on Saturdays (or by request) and receive personalized vacation planning from the proprietor. Presented as a hospitality-minded complement to the gallery, the suites come with local recommendations for exploring Brewster—described as a slower, quieter Cape locale full of gardens, antique shops, and historic homes—making them suitable for relaxed stays and easy access to nearby sights and seasonal treats like clam fritters." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

A Drink Alum Wants to Open an Awesome-Sounding Provincetown Izakaya | Eater Boston

"A Provincetown izakaya and Japanese pastry shop currently Kickstarting its way to a brick-and-mortar on Cape Cod, Tanuki began as a pop-up pastry and catering company cooking out of Foundation Kitchen in Somerville and is led by founder Rebekah Powers (aka “Bekah the Wrekah”), an alum of Boston cocktail spot Drink; the Kickstarter (goal $50,000, plus some investor money) will let it offer yakitori, rare whiskey, matcha everything, street sweets, beach bento boxes, and chef’s tastings, plus Kickstarter rewards such as onigiri and origami classes, omakase and a tea ceremony, and merch; Powers describes a sensory concept—smelling of burnt chicken skin, sandalwood, cherry blossoms in spring, and Cape Cod salt air, sounding like vintage Japanese surf guitar, waves crashing, and belly-laughing—and a vibe likened to a Quentin Tarantino movie set (the not-gory parts), a fat and happy raccoon, a hug from your favorite auntie, and an Edward Hopper painting on acid." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

A beautiful gallery of Japanese antiques and other art. We enjoyed looking at the gorgeous kimono and obi, ceramics, tansu wooden chests and seaweed prints. Bekah was a delight to chat with. I purchased some incense that is absolutely divine. I will be bringing all my friends back! Highly recommend a stop (especially during hydrangea season)

A unique cape gallery. Unpretentious and knowledgeable, friendly and cozy, authentically cape and Japanese at the same time. Truly fine art and a truly warm experience.
