Las Vegas holiday restaurant and bar guide: 2020 eedition | Eater Vegas

"At Tao Asian Bistro in the Venetian, I note the restaurant's penchant for outrageous desserts continues for the holidays: its oversized fortune cookie is jazzed up with holiday decor — a drizzle of white chocolate and sprinkles with sugar snowflakes — and is filled with white and dark chocolate mousses and served with seasonal fruit; this holiday version is available only in December." - Eater Staff

Absolutely beautiful restaurant with stunning Asian decor. We were originally a party of 3 and had to add 2 more without any issues. As a group we shared the vegetable dumplings and the potstickers, both were delicious. Everything came out in a timely fashion and our server was very attentive. I had the Waygu ribeye. This was American Waygu, I was impressed. I've had my share of Japanese A5 Wagyu and this exceeded my expectations. It came with six different unique dipping sauces. I also tried some of my coworkers cauliflower. That had a delicious sauce and the cauliflower was cooked perfectly. Taking into consideration that you are at a casino, the ambiance and the service, I thought the prices were appropriate. I would definitely recommend.

Had to alter our reservation and hostess was very accommodating. Atmosphere was night clubish with DJ that we enjoyed. Sat down to order food but the appetizers were slow to come out, waitress addressed and we got spicy tuna tartare which was ok and lobster wonton that was good. Main courses were Wagyu ribeye which was made medium and perfectly but sauces were a tad bit salty, & Grilled Branzino which itself was very good although side greens it came with were heavy on the ginger. We shared olive oil fried rice which was enough for 2 maybe 3 people. It was fine but needed sauce to help it. Ended night with creme brulee

Restaurant was beautiful. Food was good, ended up getting the duck spring roll, lobster wontons, crispy pork belly buns, salmon tacos, and triple pork fried rice. All of it was good minus the salmon tacos just not my taste preference. It would have been a 5 star but when they packed up my left overs they didn't pack any sauces with anything so the sauce that is suppose to go with the duck spring roll missing making them just dry spring rolls with duck. Same with the crispy pork belly, they even didn't pack the veggies that are supposed to go in the bun. Instead it'll just be a plain piece of pork belly on a steamed bun. Not at all flavorful or how it supposed to be enjoyed. Unfortunately for the price I paid for the meal, I was pretty disappointed they couldn't even pack sauces. I hope they at least pack them for to go orders or things are definitely getting rated bad.

Places is simply amazing. Jake was one of the most friendly and active listening host I’ve ever had. He gave lots of detail details about the menu was funny and a pleasure to spend time with. All the dishes were amazing. The bow buns and pork fried rice really stood out. I can’t say great things about this place. Gotta check it out.

Recently came to Tao for a birthday celebration and it was great! I especially loved the spicy tuna on crispy rice, crunchy spicy yellowtail roll, and the shrimp tempura roll. I have to admit, the orange chicken wasn’t as good as I thought it would be, but it was still enjoyable. The veggie lo mein was also nothing special. The giant fortune cookie is a must for celebrations! So fun. The atmosphere was relaxed but lively with dim lighting and a good DJ.

The space, as always, is beautiful and such a pleasant place to be. Great music too. The wagyu steak was incredible, and all the sauces that come with it are so good.. I wish I could find a black pepper sauce as amazing as theirs! Not a big fan of the noodles I got (way too many peanuts for my taste), but overall it was a really good experience.

I am very hesitant to dine at any Americanized Asian restaurants because of my background. I appreciate authentic cultural foods. However, Tao proved me wrong. Their food is delicious. Honestly, I came here for Tao Tuesday where it’s $99 for two. You get a starter, two apps, two entrees and dessert. It was a great way to taste a variety of food! Edamame came out hot with a nice helping of salt, steamed to perfection. We loved the chicken lollipops that had a sweet and sour glaze and peanuts on it. So perfected cooked and the flavor was amazing! The pork potstickers were pan seared and had a nice sauce that was mildly spicy and sweet on it. I could’ve eaten a dozen of these generous sized potstickers. The bbq pork spareribs were middle of the road; had the Chinese bbq flavor and was cooked nicely. The chicken lo mein had such amazing flavor with the dark sweet soy sauce. However, the only complaint is the chicken meat tasted old and freezer burned otherwise the dish was wonderful. The Thai shrimp was more batter than actual shrimp but it was fried nicely. The outer batter was crispy and had a nice sweet and sour sauce on it. It was served with bean sprouts, bell peppers, pineapples and onions. We ended the dinner with the perfect dessert; donuts! They were so fresh and still piping out coated with sugar. Their donut texture was pillowy and soft, served with caramel, chocolate and vanilla anglaise sauce! Ambiance was incredibly beautiful. The red decor definitely popped with their dark walls and gold statues. Buddhas everywhere! It was so chic and modern! The music is on the louder size you can definitely converse comfortably. The service was truly impeccable! Dan, our server was great. Our cups were never empty and the staff were super friendly, professional and attentive. I can’t wait to return to try more dishes!

Okay, so I wasn’t expecting to find one of the best sushi spots I’ve ever been to… in a mall. But this is a true hidden Gem in Mohegan sun, so here we are. I stumbled across this place after a long day of roaming, and honestly, it felt like I walked into a completely different world. It’s tucked away just enough to feel exclusive, and the vibe is super calm and classy—think dark wood, soft lighting, and just the right amount of fancy without being stuffy. We were seated at our table by a gentleman who was professional and attentive throughout. The food was delicious, and every bite was perfection. The fish basically melted in my mouth, the veggies were insanely fresh, and even something as simple as the miso soup was next level. You can tell the chefs know exactly what they’re doing—everything felt intentional, from the flavors to the way it was plated. The only thing lacking if I may, I would have liked the portions to be more generous for the price point. The drinks? Also, on point. We had a tequila based cocktail that was light and citrusy and paired perfectly with the sushi. They’ve got a great drinks list too, if that’s your thing. Honestly, I was just impressed. It’s the kind of place you could hit after shopping, on a date night, or even solo. Price-wise, it’s definitely on the upscale side, but for the quality and experience, it’s totally worth it. Highly recommend if you’re into sushi and want something a little more elevated without having to go downtown. Parking for the venue itself was free but I am told it could be paid during events etc at Mohegan Sun.
