"New Mexico’s craft beer industry has grown substantially in recent years, and Taos Mesa Brewing is one of the state’s standouts. Since 2012, it has specialized in brews like the Kolsch .45 and Kachina Peak Pale Ale, an homage to the summit of Taos Ski Valley. The food stands up to the beer, with no shortage of juicy burgers, tacos, and cheesy Frito pies — just the stuff after a long day on the mountain. [$]" - Justin De La Rosa

Super thankful these folks were open on Christmas Eve. We got seated right away and everyone was super friendly. We each got a flight of beers and ciders to enjoy so we could taste a little of everything. For food we had the wings which were super delicious and a pizza with green chilies. We enjoyed the pizza so much we got an extra to go to have while everything was shut down on Christmas. A great and easy place to stop in and enjoy some drinks and great food.

I wanted to share my experience. I went for happy hour to try their Margherita pizza & their house salad along with a nice Berry cider. First, I just wanted to mention it was a very warm environment. A bit crowded but still the service was excellent. I want to shout out to Gregorio who was an excellent food runner he made sure I had everything I need and checked back with me to make sure I was enjoying the food. I would highly recommend going and checking out their Pizza. It was very delicious Wood-Fired crust which is one of my favorites and the salad dressing was Delicious! Good blend. The bartenders there were also very friendly. I appreciate it because I used to be a bartender so I know what it's like. I will definitely be going back. Thanks again! I'll be back sure to try the Ceaser Salad and more pizza.

Tldr - Must do in Taos We love a good brewery, especially when traveling with our kids (9/10). TMB was a great place to come to. It was immediately packed when they opened at noon on a Saturday. Luckily we were on time so got seated immediately. While I always say you should go to Beer Advocate or Untappd to get an idea of how good the beer is at a place, I'd say very generally speaking, the beer here is all good quality. We also had some apps and salad and pizza. The food was all prepared well. It didn't last and superlatives flew in describing how delicious it was. We got some crowlers to go. The staff was all great and helpful. Service was fast and efficient.

Google
The pizza was delicious. I would suggest the queso fondue and a hot cider! Lots of large TVs to watch sports. We watched the college championship game and the guys had a great view! It was busy and the staff did their best to keep up with all the crowd.

Jed Smith

Google
Phenomenal beer and pizza. We got a flight of 6 beers, all of them were stylistically near perfect and tasted great. Hard to find a brewery that does so many styles this well. Pizza was one of my favorite Woodforest pizzas I have had (we had the mushroom pizza). Service was excellent to boot! 10/10

Google
Excellent! The TMB Tap Room has a rotating selection of almost 70 beers, many named for locals and local attractions. I had a HotShot Smoked Porter (in recognition of the local HotShot fire crew) and a taste of the Jonesy's Cross Eye Rye, which I'm going to assume they named in my honor. ;) The beers are wonderful, the food menu is eclectic and the dishes are expertly prepared. For lunch my wife had her favorite, the Ahi tuna salad, and I had a pulled pork slider and a personal pizza, wood fired with an amazing palate of flavors. The only thing better than the food and beer is the helpful, engaging staff - thanks guys!

Google
We recently visited this restaurant and brewery in Taos, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! As a picky eater, I was pleasantly surprised by how incredible the pizza was—perfectly crispy crust, fresh toppings, and just the right amount of flavor. It’s easily one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! The beer selection was equally impressive, with a variety of flavorful brews that paired perfectly with our meal. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive. This place truly captures the charm of Taos while offering amazing food and drinks. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area or locals looking for a great spot!

Google
Great staff, excellent pizza with GF options, and just a perfect blood orange cider.

Yelp
Great place to drop in, have a brew and enjoy the Taos vibe! We drop in anytime we are here. The pizza and the salads are delicious. My personal favorite is the beets and avocado salad! Beer is great! Service is kind and the atmosphere is fun!

Megan C.

Yelp
Service was slow. Pizza didn't come out with sandwich. Chicken sandwich only had chicken on half of it, they just filled the rest with jalapeños. Didn't try the pizza; as the sandwich ( the part with half chicken) and salad was long gone. Of note- The house salad was delicious. Step it up stoners.

Yelp
- very friendly service - the food looks amazing.com - good hot sauces - very tasty beers - very tasty ciders

Kim M.

Yelp
Sunday night and not many restaurants open but lucky for us Taos Mesa Brewing was open and had a nice menu - not just pizza. We ordered carry out - tuna crudo, beet and avocado salad and a small house salad. I was wowed by these brewery salads and the tuna app. They were delicious and fresh. Now we have to try the pizza. Impressed with this upscale brewery menu!

Mark B.

Yelp
Everything about this place is wonderful! The cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent food, great beer! Visiting from Portland, I have high expectations for a brewery. This place checked all the boxes. Thank you for a nice little pit stop, Taos Mesa Brewing! What a lovely surprise

Lucia O.

Yelp
Very good pizza in Taos - It's Neopolitan style, so very thin, charred crust that gets soggy if let it sit (so I'd recommend dining in or eating your takeout while it's hot). They have a nice variety of beers and ciders on tap as well. There is a dog-friendly outdoor patio (with shaded umbrellas). I like this location better than the original brewery out on the mesa, since the food and service here is better (there is no pizza out there) - though if you are just getting a beer and don't mind slow service, the mesa location does have a dog-friendly patio with great views.

K C.

Yelp
Delicious wood fired pizza! The crust was charred but not burnt, still soft and flexible. The sauce was tangy and sweet . The toppings were fresh and flavorful. I can't wait to return!

Arnab K.

Yelp
The service was amazing. The place does get busy but the reservation system notification through text works well. The food is good too. I didn't expect it for a small town but I was pleasantly surprised. Recommend visiting this place as a tourist and a local too.

Neila Z.

Yelp
Good beer selection and the wait staff is knowledgeable. We did a spread of Apps, all delicious. The pizza and cheese bread look amazing.

Monica F.

Yelp
Yum!!! Very cute little brewpub, the beer was phenomenal, and the food was very tasty. I went there on a recommendation from a friend of mine who goes to Taos a lot. She said it was awesome, and she was was telling the truth. It's a very charming little location, the service is really good. Highly recommend it. There was a line to get in when they open their doors so that should tell you some thing I had the Ahi tuna salad, and my fiancé had the pizza which he said was really good.

Christine F.

Yelp
Great place, great pizza and beer to appease the whole spectrum of beer drinkers from cider to stout. A suggestion for the chef. Financially speaking, the tuna crudo presents how poke is typically served and it's a huge serving-- cut the portion in half, drop it by $2 and consider calling it a poke so most people will understand the dish. Typically a crudo is served very thin slices of and poke chunks. I understand it's the same overall, I would just consider the change.

Maryelin R.

Yelp
Amazing fire wood oven pizzas & house crafted beer in a low key groovy place. Service is top notch and ambiance's a welcoming one even for us out of towners. We cannot wait to visit Taos Mesa again

Chuck W.

Yelp
Super chill atmosphere, we tried their tuna dish, and their beet salad, and their Mushroom pizza. All fantastic! As my wife said, there are many breweries that serve food, but this one excels at food! great find!

Kathleen M.

Yelp
The pizzas are delicious, service was accommodating and attentive, and the ambiance is very relaxed. It's a good place to take family and friends for a drink!

Yelp
In a nutshell, great food and pretty solid beer, but be prepared to wait in many ways. We tried to eat here on Thursday night shortly after arriving in Taos for a 3 day trip. We arrived at the brewery around 6:30 PM, struggled to find a place to park and ended up parking in a nearby municipal lot and walking in. When we got in the door, there was a big line and we waited roughly 15 to 20 minutes to talk to the host just to be told that the wait would be another HOUR to get a table. We walked out in disgust and honestly didn't know if we were going to go back. We were able to get over here earlier on Thursday (closer to 5:30 PM). Parking was better and we were told the wait would be about 20 minutes. 30 minutes later we were seated at a table. Another party got up and walked out in front of us in disgust from waiting longer than they were told during this time also... We ordered a couple personal 6" pizzas (that were really more like 8 to 10 inches) for our kids along with a 12" pizza (which was also probably more like 14") for ourselves. We also tried the garlic bread. The food was really good and I understand why this place is popular just based on this. Beer was also solid and I tried both the black IPA and the pink gose and enjoyed both of them. Service was fine, but the kitchen definitely was on the slow side. When it was all said and done including both waiting for a table and waiting for our food, we left after about 2 hours. I honestly think this place is a victim of its own success and the fact that the Taos restuarant scene is pretty limited in a lot of ways. So, if you have the time and patience, you'll probably be happy you ate here, but definitely don't expect it to be a quick experience.

Yelp
Very chill ambiance. Relaxing eclectic music. A choice of indoor or outdoor seating (we chose outdoor), and friendly and attentive servers. My husband chose a brown ale and loved it. I chose a blood orange cider and loved it. Of course this is the sort of place where the menu of brew rotates so ymmv. But we enjoyed our choices very much. For food, my husband chose the personal size meat pizza. It was great. Very crispy crust and good proportions of ingredients. Great flavors. Other reviews indicated the pizza was amazing so he had to try it. Was not disappointed. I chose a half size Caesar salad and added chicken. Got a very large, high quality salad, great Caesar dressing, really substantial Parmesan shreds and croutons, and an excellent _large_ portion of delicious chicken. Real chicken, not the weird processed chicken that sometimes comes in a bar salad. I did not expect much from a bar salad, but I was trying to watch my carbs and the salad was a very pleasant surprise. Totally enjoyed it. I would order it again, even if I wasn't watching carbs. We recommend this place. A five-star pizza and beer (and apparently salad!) place in Taos.

Melissa B.

Yelp
Cool spot, amazing service and lots of TVs for football! We had apps, pizza, salad and flights of beer. Looks to be a pretty popular spot for locals as well since their was a line of about 15 people before opening and stayed pretty continuous while we were there. Interesting note: signs everywhere saying "please respect 3 drink limit". Not sure if that's for folks who camp to watch games or just enjoy the day too much but just note, this is not your 7 hour game watching bar.

Michael W.

Yelp
Two visits so far, Great beers my favorites so far are their IPA and the brown ale. Pizza is good had the Aloha, house salad excellent, on one visit the special was a type of French dip was very good. Good place for chill vibes and good service. Appears to serve only wine and beer.

Rick S.

Yelp
The Tap Room is a bit of a fooler as the outside of the building does not give you a lot of clues as to what's inside. The front parking lot is tiny but if you go around the back up the hill, you'll find a nice area for parking especially if you have a big pickup truck. Inside, the dining and drinking areas are very large and yet remain very comfortable and intimate. The drink menu has a decent selection of cider and other brewed concoctions along with local wines. I particularly enjoyed the blood orange cider, fruity and a wonderful crispness in each sip. Although I did not see an option for beer flights, you can get small 5oz taster portions if you want to sample a variety of the brews on offer. Food choices are a bit limited unless you love pizza, in which case you'll be very happy. The wood fired pizzas are nicely done with an appropriate thin and crisp crust topped by excellent quality toppings. I made my own 12" pizza with sausage, olives, and green Chile smothered with their blanco sauce. Very tasty. A couple of deli sandwiches are on the menu along with some limited app choices including sliders but we'll have to try those on another visit. The roasted shishito peppers were plentiful in the appetizer but unfortunately the aioli that accompanies them is extremely runny and more of it ended up on the table than did in my mouth. Service was reasonably prompt. Prices were also in line with the area. In any case, I'll be back. Recommended.

Todd P.

Yelp
We ate there today for lunch at the tap house in Taos. We parked in there parking behind their building. Wile we was having lunch, someone robbed us. Stole my favorite cooler, electric scooter and basically cleaned out the back of my truck. So watch your stuff if you choose to eat there! I'll change this to 4 stars if they would answer the phone and provide security on their parking area. Right now i am super disappointed. Service was good beer was good, pizza was average to good. But the experience of loosing my stuff in their parking lot wile I ate - priceless! Add cameras and help protect clients of your establishment.

Yelp
June 10, 2023 - Taos Mesa Brewery and Tap Room (Taos, NM) You can blow your TAOS-ian flute to your heart's delight and be assured nobody will be MESA-ing with you, as you enjoy TAP-ing your toes in the ROOM-y Taos Mesa Brewery and Tap Room. We arrived at about 1:15 after spending a couple hours over at the Taos Pueblo. What can I say, we were feeling the spirit of this ancient town, which has been inhabited with Native Americans for over 1,000 years (longest in the U.S.), and we were ready for some cool fire water and delicious local flavors. You know you're in a special place as you walk through the ornate pinkish purple front doors with a black crow in front of a decorative sun symbol. We sat at the outdoor patio, which has a three-foot-tall puebloan-style wall enclosure that allows you to look out over the town under well placed umbrellas to protect you from the warmer-than-you-might-imagine Taosian sun. You are truly on a Mesa (ok, maybe more of a plateau) looking out. We were given water and food and drink menus right away, and were greeted by our server Night almost as soon as we sat down. My wife and I both decided to order beer and cider flights. We made our drink choices, gave them to Night, and then pondered our food choices. I landed on the Italian sandwich with a garden salad and my wife chose the avocado and beet salad with vinaigrette. When Night returned with our drinks, which were well labeled, we gave him our food orders. We then began attacking our drinks with the vigor of a thirsty Puebloan bowman fresh back from a successful hunt. No disappointments. All the IPAs were true to their hoppy character, and my wife let me sit down beside her as she drank her ciders. The stout made me want to stand up and shout! Our food arrived promptly, and we dug in. I haven't had many Italian sandwiches in my lifetime. Italian sausage sandwiches, sure, but this sandwich was like none other. Delicious capicola pork cold cut, salami, smoked bacon, marinated red bell pepper, smoked mozzarella, fresh greens, and Italian vinaigrette on a oven baked ciabatta roll. Heaven in my mouth! My wife's beet and avocado salad included shaved fennel, arugula, and feta cheese served with a balsamic vinaigrette. Delightful! The indoor seating area is darker in nature but roomy and they have a good-sized bar area and taproom. They have some nice brewery swag if you're into that kind of thing - hats, shirts, and brewery stickers. Overall, fun experience!

Yelp
Was checking Yelp for some local places to try for dinner and found the Taos Mesa Brewing Tap Room. I noticed they had pizzas that were cooked in an oven that's very similar to one of my all-time favorite pizza places, V Pizza. I wanted to try some local brews, as well, so this seemed to really fit the bill. Tried 3 of their IPAs. I was really excited about the Mesa IPA, as it had a 101 IBU. I haven't seen an IBU over 100 in a LONG time and those are usually my favorite. It was good, but not the best. The other two I tried (Jonesey's Rye and Mosaic) were OK. The Mosaic was VERY piney. Onto the food. I ordered the personal meat pizza and it was DELICIOUS! Not quite V Pizza quality, but the same style. Slightly burnt crust, very tasty cheese and meats. Loved it. My wife ordered the pepperoni pizza. It looked odd when it came out, but we didn't really think anything of it. She grabbed a piece and said, "This is a Margherita, not pepperoni." Sure enough. She got the wrong pizza. She was fine with it, so we didn't say anything. I was still hungry after my meat pizza, so I had a couple slices of hers. The cheese was not melted. It was room temperature and very bland. Almost no flavor to her pizza. She really didn't want me to mention it, so I didn't. The bill came and sure enough, our waitress put in a Margherita on the order. I'm not real sure how you get Margherita from "pepperoni" but that's what happened. Wasn't a big deal that the pizza was wrong, but the fact that the cheese wasn't melted and no flavor? No beuno. It's a cool spot and we'd definitely go back, but we'd make sure we were getting the right food. :P

Yelp
Another bummer of a final meal in Taos on Christmas eve. It's like you're in an Applebees with televisions everywhere (plus the added bonus of a drunk woman sitting by herself at the bar literally screaming at the top of her lungs after every Cowboys play--Merry Christmas!). We started with a flight of six beers and almost all of them tasted flat, but we did really like two of them--the amber one and the golden ale. We had wanted to order the soup that was on special, but when we did, were told that it got burnt and was no longer available. Mmmm OK. The kale and romaine caesar salad was pretty good, but it was overdressed and too anchovy-forward. Our kiddo got a plain personal pizza that wasn't half bad but the crust seemed way too crispy and tasteless. Same problem with the "smoky quartz," but the toppings were really good with the crispy prosciutto (the lemon vinaigrette drizzle seemed unnecessary). We asked for salt twice before someone finally got us some. Listen, the people working here are lovely, and we wish this place well; we are probably just the wrong clientele for it. Others may love the TV vibe and B-game food, but it's just not our thing.

Graciela S.

Yelp
This place was rocking when we got there! It is a really cool place to hangout for while we & get some delicious New Mexican food with a flair! We ordered the spicy sweet wings which were hugh, meaty and delicious and we ordered a build your own pizza with jalapeños on it. Maaannn was it guuuddd!!! Definitely will be back when traveling though this area!

Shane R.

Yelp
Food and service was very good. Appetizers were wide variety. Beer selection was greatest as well.

Carissa S.

Yelp
Great craft beer selection on tap. Super tasty burgers. Very chill wait staff. Casual vibe, a little loud, but a great spot to hang out for a bit.

John A.

Yelp
If you like a good IPA or Pilsner, and a delicious Pizza then this is the place for you. The service is solid, the staff never let my beer get empty, and the kitchen staff makes a great wood filled pizza. We had the Smokey Quartz with Pesto, prosciutto and vinaigrette dressing - sounds unusual but so so good! Crust was crispy. We also had the Inferno aloha chorizo, pickled jalapeños, and pineapple. It is just a little bit sweet, but mostly salty and crunchy (crust was crunchy). I had the session IPA which was nice and crisp and hoppy. My partner had the Pilsner which was crisp, light, and delicious. We will be going back

Amber H.

Yelp
Terrible service!!! Ordered a margarita, they brought a can of it. Cannolis definitely not fresh. Will not recommend it.

Halle S.

Yelp
so good but so busy (for good reason)- if you're going for beers and appetizers, go during happy hour for cheaper prices. recommend getting the hot honey wings they're great

Monte R.

Yelp
Excellent pizza and salads, High quality eats. Good beer. Good service. A nice find in Taos.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great service and friendly to my kids. Would go back for sure! Hit it up if in Taos.

Jana C.

Yelp
So pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. We went in on a Friday night. With three kids at 5, we're seated right away. Excellent service throughout and really good salads and pizza! Five stars !

Kate G.

Yelp
Great place to go have a beer. But warning on the pizza, Good crust and sauce but all the veggies are marinated. Not good.

Jessica N.

Yelp
Went for lunch and the manager was rude. Server was ok, pizza was delicious. Came back at 3pm with 25 cycling friends who just rode off the trail and the place was EMPTY but they refused to seat us because we needed to bring bikes onto the patio with us and would/could not lock them up on the small bike rack by the street... $3k loss to them?

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Great place to watch a game and eat speciality pizzas. Very happy to see they are open on New Year's Day.

Paul L.

Yelp
Beer was fantastic. Found the food menu lacking. No nachos, but their wings were amazing! Would have liked a burger option. Jeremy our waiter was awesome! Would have loved for him to just come hang out with us and chat. Overall, great time, great people, great beer! Just wish there were more food options.

Sally B.

Yelp
Came here for après ski. Enjoyed some local brews - they have 22 on tap. Service was prompt. Didn't try any food however.

Robert R.

Yelp
Great beer, awesome concert venue, great prices and a friendly staff delivering top notch service.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Came here while spending Labor Day weekend in the Taos area. We honestly came here because the other place we wanted to go to was packed and we were too hungry to wait. When we arrived there were only two other groups ahead of us, but we all stood around for about 10 minutes before the host showed up to the stand. Once she did, it took another 10 minutes or so to decide where to seat each group. We were finally seated on the patio with our dog (points for being dog friendly). Our server was friendly, but again, service was rather slow. We started off with beer that we thought was just ok. For food, we ordered the bread with honey butter and the wood fired wings. The bread was listed on the menu as focaccia and it definitely wasn't. It was still good and we did enjoy it with the honey butter. The wings were also good and had a nice heat. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience but we also wouldn't rush back.

Montague S.

Yelp
Fine beer offerings -great varied selection. We sat in the side patio w the dog on a fine sunny afternoonsie . The broccolini app is terrific - just a well thought out mix of ingredients we'd gladly have a couple times a week . The Caesar salad was pretty good but a bit dry and could use more dressing . We asked for the margarita to be crispy and it came out perfect . Nice char! Hey - nice char ! Good chew and ingredients . If we lived in the area we'd be regulars . Nice friendly service . Five oz samplers for two bucks ? Hey - gimme some samples baby !!

G K.

Yelp
As visitors trying to find delicious food you can never really know what you're going to find. This place is legitimately delicious. The 2 pizzas we had were flavorful and unique. The broccolini appetizer was cooked to perfection and small salad was generous enough for 4 people! Give this place a try when you're in Taos!

Jason F.

Yelp
This place is pretty damn good! The beers on tap were awesome and the pizzas that they offer are very good! Staff was amazing and very nice! Will go back when in town!

Richard B.

Yelp
Wanted something I could walk to for my accommodations, so I looked up Taos Mesa Brewing online, thought it looked promising, called to see how much of a wait on a Monday evening. None, but for some reason I had to wait about 5-10 minutes for a table even though it was obviously not crowded and plenty of open tables. Sat and reviewed the menu and of course opted for pizza and beer. The pizza was delicious with just the right amount of topping and crust. Not a fan of hoppy beer, so I ordered a wheat beer which was also very good. But the highlight of the meal was the cannoli, probably some of the best I've had. They come two to an order, so I took one home for dessert the next evening. Definitely worth a stop!

Evan B.

Yelp
Ridiculously great burgers in a ski-bum, dive bar setting. Staff is friendly and helpful even to an old guy like me. Standout burger is the "Smoke" -- have them add some green chili to it. Best side are the onion rings. I stop there every time I'm in Taos.

Howie K.

Yelp
I'm having a lot of barely four star experiences these days, and it's all about service. As a person who works in the service industry, I can definitely empathize: it's hard to find good help these days. So that's my first note to you, dear reader, chill the f*#k out, they're working hard, you're not in any hurry, okay? If you can wait a minute -- and that may be 60 minutes on a busy night -- you'll eventually get half decent service and some of the best food you've ever devoured in a tap room, promise. While I wasn't wowed by the wood fired wangs and we weren't feeling like pizza, both the tuna crudo and fire roasted broccolini were outstanding choices, even tastier paired with a blood orange cider or refreshing pineapple IPA. Bonus for progressive types: this business is politically proud and clearly Open to All, something that in my view distinguishes Taos from most mountain towns, and makes me feel right at home.

Gina K.

Yelp
We were passing through Taos on our way to Santa Fe during lunch time. We stopped for a few hours to grab a pizza and beer. This was the perfect establishment for both. We sat at the bar and were served right away. They have a lengthy beer list and many delicious options but my favorite was the Blood Orange cider. Make sure to get there when they open because the place filled up fast during lunch time.

Louie F.

Yelp
I really have to divide this review into two parts. The burrata I had as an appetizer and the pizza. The burrata was a twist on a traditional caprese and it was fantastic. Every aspect of it worked together to produce something unique and delicious from the micro greens to the chili sauce. I believe the toast had a chili oil that turned standard grilled bread into something fabulous. This was definitely a five star dish. The SAUSAGE pizza we ordered did not have the same level of perfection. If you could get a bite that had the pickled onions and green Chili's it was great. But those were infrequent. Out of half of a 12 inch pizza I had two good bites. The rest tasted like crust. Which wouldn't have been bad but I didn't like the crust. It was very dry, flavor of uncooked flour, and was generally not appealing.

Christa R.

Yelp
Great spot for afternoon beers! Reasonably priced and the pizza was delicious. Outdoor seating goes first but good vibes inside too

Tom M.

Yelp
The pizza smelled great but we there for a beer. The several tables with low chairs were set aside for diners. There was a 1 hour wait for dinner. We stood in the bar, drank a beer, and noticed that several tables with low seats were empty throughout our visit. Experience could have been improved at no cost. I would have gotten the beer from the bartender...: Not good. Ofest beer was great.

Deb T.

Yelp
Food was tasty, not exceptional, but good. Really enjoyed the beer. Nice outdoor atmosphere. Service was good.
