The Kirkland Tap & Trotter Review - Cambridge - Boston - The Infatuation

"Google tells us that a trotter is a part of a pig, so it makes sense that this spot on the Cambridge-Somerville border is a great option for grilled meats. The spiced half chicken and swordfish are outstanding, but you’ll be fine with anything that’s been cooked near the fire. The vegetable dishes are well done, too, making this a great, casual spot to hang with friends or bring kids if you have them." - Dan Secatore

Google
The nachos and breakfast burrito were tasty. The Cobb salad was pretty decent too. The mushroom risotto was tasty for a few bites but then it got extremely heavy and impossible to enjoy. It was too full of cream and cheese, and the rice was overcooked. Portion sizes were huge! The place is well decorated, and a good place for lunch/ brunch in general. The vegetarian menu is limited. There was no waiting on a Saturday afternoon

Great new spot to watch sports. Walking distance from several hotels in Cambridge. Got the shrimp cocktail which is done Mexican style. Street corn is also a hit. Burger was also good.

Google
Food was solid. I enjoyed everything I had: double smash burger, cheesecake, coffee. Atmosphere was good vibes. People were lively. Music was kept to a reasonable volume. Service was good. Everyone was really nice. Love the dog friendly patio

Google
A really nice space, lots of bright TVs (maybe too bright?), good viewing of sports. Pretty lights in trees on the walk up. The food was ok, could be better. I had the burrata salad and it was a lot of arugula which was great but kind of dry/lacking salad dressing. It said it had olive oil and if it did it was quite light. The fish and chips were medium. Guacamole was medium.

HIDDEN GEM IN BOSTON! I threw an afterparty for my Birthday here last Saturday with about 40-50 people. Ownership and Leadership were amazing to work with as they made all the accommodations needed for us. Staff was super easy going and excited to serve our group. We had a blast! Great drinks, plenty of space, and a fun atmosphere. Can't recommend enough! Thanks!

Google
Very positive first experience here. Lit atmosphere with tons of TVs. Feels swanky and modern. Has a lot of potential. Big menu with many diverse options. Food: The ahi tuna poke bowl ($20) was good, not great. Presentation could be more visually striking and flavors could be more complex. Perhaps a few more ingredients like edamame, pineapple, mango, or seaweed? Maybe an option for a spicy sauce? By looking at the bowl I could not tell that the sauce had been added until I peeked underneath the tuna. The burger was savory and juicy, perfect. Nothing to add. The ceviche was presented nicely but could use more potency. A tad bland. perhaps more lime or some jalapeno? Or more time spent marinating? I liked how it was served with freshly made potato chips, which was interesting. Service: Madison was fantastic. Helped with recommendations, very attentive, and kind. Atmosphere: love it! Location: excellent spot in Cambridge Crossing. A two minute walk from the Lechmere green line T stop. Right across from Lamplighter under the tall apartment building.

Google
Decent food and nice spot to watch a game. Fairly spacious and nice atmosphere - though I do wish they’d run a stronger AC on a super hot evening like tonight. But leaving a five star here because our waitress Amy was so kind and helpful. Will come back for this service!

Google
We were excited to come out here as we had heard good things. However, we asked the hostess to sit us near the hockey game and she put us as far as was possible from it. We were able to move and our server was super helpful. After the second period of the game, we ordered quesadillas. They came about 35 minutes later, which was surprising because I wouldn’t think they would take that long. The server tried to cover for the kitchen, saying they were super busy. However, when the food came with a side of mayo instead of sour cream, we knew that the kitchen was seriously messed up. Too bad. We won’t be back.

Yelp
Had a great late night dinner in Cambridge. They have a nice beer selection and the sandwiches were good too.

Yelp
Tap 151 was a nice experience after a long drive. We walked to the restaurant from our hotel. It was very convenient to the T Green Line, as well. The bar/restaurant has TVs everywhere and I was able to watch the NBA playoffs and a Red Sox game at the same time. I walked in with my family and was seated very quickly. We ordered drinks and our food. All of which came pretty quickly. My daughter is gluten free and ordered the garlic parm wings. They let us know cross contamination was possible but she's ok with it. I ordered the Million Dollar Cheeseburger but subbed the American cheese for cheddar because cheddar is better. It was very good. Fries were about average. I lik3d that their beer list had it listed where each beer was from because I like to make sure in drinking local when I travel. All in all it was great meal. I'd recommend!

Yelp
Just what Cambridge Crossing needed was a local bar to hangout, watch the game, and have a couple of drinks! Food: The food here is definitely better than other bar food but nothing special. They do have really good fries though! Their quesadilla hit the spot after a couple drinks but not my favorite. I had their pesto chicken sandwich and wished it had more pesto. The chicken was really juicy though. Their drinks really steal the show though. Their caiprinha is a must try and they have nitro espresso martini which is also very nice. Service: Very quick service. The servers are also nice. Only thing is they don't bring you water unless you ask. Ambiance: Great music and perfect to go if you want to watch a game.

Yelp
Wonderful tucked away sports bar. Because it's in this nook by Lechmere station, it doesn't seem to get over packed like a tavern-in-sq. I even hesitate to write a review for this spot because lowkey I want to keep this a hidden gem They've got a very healthy draft beer menu, I picked a Pilsner, it was delicious Wife and I got these steak-cheese egg rolls - wonderful twist on an Asian-American classic. Really enjoyed that. And for our meals we shared a burger and fish and chips. Very baseline bar food. The burger was juicy and beautifully charred, the fish and chips were alright, not memorable but not terrible tldr; casual, lowkey sports bar that I'll probably frequent more often during the warmer months since it's close to where I work and where I live. Excellent vibes only because it's so low key

Yelp
We had an event there tonight and the staff were responsive and very helpful. Service was a bit slow but can't blame them for being busy tonight also considering they recently just opened. Probably avoid the popcorn shrimp as it was just disgustingly hard and barely had shrimp. Calamari was so-so but acceptable. It's like a cross between north end calamari and the bar calamari's. Colleagues would rate the truffle rib eyes as 7.5/10. Wild mushroom risotto with steak tips were solid 8.5/10. Staff, ambience and food were exemplary and we'd host our events here again! Oh, cocktails were 10/10

Yelp
New place opened up down the street from my spouses work. Wanted to check it out and it was a beautiful day for a walk. Located in a new apartment complex, they are still completing the finishing touches, mostly outside. Very big space with variety of indoor and soon to be outdoor seating. Many TV's and a large bar. The staff was very friendly and we were seated quickly. The menu offers a variety of options and it was really good. Had the beet salad with chicken and enjoyed it immensely. Not sure when they opened, but so far so good. There is a lot of potential for an incredible neighborhood bar and restaurant. Will go back again and bring friends.

Yelp
We were looking for a place on Thanksgiving that wasn't serving strictly Thanksgiving food and this was the perfect option. Their menu is extensive and there are so many options to choose from. I really loved everything I ordered, especially the drink. I also loved the aesthetics and the interior of the restaurant. It had a sport's bar element to it, but it was still very elegant and clean. Our waiter was so kind and helpful. This place saved the day for us and we were all glad to be there.

Yelp
Kinda overpriced American food but it's a cool spot to watch sports games and music was good. Would go again but try something else.

Yelp
Great pretzels with sea salt and short rib quesadillas! The dip for the pretzels was super good and the horseradish went really well with the short rib. Nice place, clean, friendly. We will be back for more.

Yelp
The food at Tap 151 Bar & Grill is good, and the atmosphere is stunning. When I came for dinner with some friends, we all had great meals: especially burgers and wings. Service was a tad slow during rush hour, but polite nonetheless. They served reasonably priced drinks, and music just added to a laid-back vibe. I'm definitely going for another relaxing evening.

Yelp
I could have gotten this food anywhere. I wanted authentic Boston fare. This is not the place.

Yelp
Had beer after Friday work here at recently opened bar. Choices of beer are great and I had blue moon, which was good. I only had nacho for the food but next time I'll try other menu. Service was great. Convenient location.

Yelp
Been here a few times and always have a great experience. Food is awesome, service is great, and cool vibes with lots of TVs.

Yelp
Tap 151 opened this week at the new Cambridge Crossing mixed use development near the Lechmere MBTA Green Line station. This gastropub and sports bar offers a lively modern casual atmosphere with plenty of flatscreen TVs throughout and upbeat dance music pumping over the speakers. They have table seating, booth seating, high top tables and seating up at the U shaped full service bar. The bar drink menu offers 13 draft beers, bottled beers, wine list, mixed drinks, cocktails, mocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. The food menu offers a good variety including starters, flatbreads, chicken wings, chicken tenders, burgers/sandwiches with fries, salads, tacos, chowder, French onion soup, main entrees (short rib, shrimp scampi, steak tips, truffle ribeye, fish & chips, grilled salmon, pasta), and desserts. The pricing is moderate here. I stopped by on their second night of business for dinner. I found a seat up at the bar and the bartender brought over big two-sided menu with food & drinks choices. I got an ice water and placed my order for Crispy Calamari ($16 plus tax) and Mac + Cheese Entree ($16 plus tax) with Short Rib (add $4 plus tax), which both came out together in 10 minutes after ordering. The portions were both good sized. The appetizer was comprised of breaded fried calamari rings & tentacles, fried breaded hot peppers and tartar sauce for dipping & a lemon wedge. The mac + cheese in a bowl was very creamy and smooth with soft radiatore pasta and topped with plenty of lean tender shredded short rib. The mac + cheese was very good and it was like the version I've had at home with heavy cream in the cheese sauce. I also got a box for half of the mac & cheese to eat later on. They also offer a side option for mac + cheese for $8. I declined dessert, with choices of chocolate lava cake, espresso creme brulee, tiramisu. and NY cheesecake since I had enough food for the evening. The check was $38.52 with tax and before tip. Overall, my expectations of Tap 151 were at exceeded with tasty food, good portions, and fair pricing for the busy area near Cambridgeside. I would definitely stop in again for dinner, likely before a concert or event nearby.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was really good to. We had a bar tender that was really good. Drinks spot on. Went there for dinner with my niece as she recommended.

Yelp
Nice restaurant and delicious food. The fried pickle chips and Buffalo mac and cheese are delicious. Can't go wrong.

Yelp
Nice big bar, Tons of TVs The short ribs quesdilla was mehhh and the Buffalo chicken fingers were 4 cutlets... mehhh. The bar staff is somewhat engaging. Still working on the new opening- I will try it again in a few months. Parking is limited.

Yelp
This place is your typical upscale bar and grill. Inside is very nice and there's a friendly vibe. Lots of TVs tuned to a variety of sports things. Went twice with my wife (our hotel was next door) and food was underwhelming each time. Burgers were fine but nothing special. Tacos had lots of mayo. Salads were fresh but a little skimpy on toppings. Service was attentive and friendly. Food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I'm sure this a great place to grab a beer and some sweet potato fries (the best thing we ate).

Chris L.

Yelp
Literally just left. The atmosphere is awesome, tons of TVs wont miss any games Definitely try the buffalo chicken dip and steak tips! Only downside was service although very friendly was a bit slow not ideal if you're having a few drinks with the games. Hopefully they'll show UFC & WWE would be a fantastic spot

Kate P.

Yelp
After a long day of travel, we decided to check out Tap 151 for dinner and it did not disappoint. Short ribs, mashed potatoes and asparagus were delicious! Didn't even need a knife for the short ribs and our server was outstanding!

Yelp
Just opened and it's wonderful!! We ate salad, clam chowder, steak tips and chicken tenders

Yelp
Food was great. The restaurant itself has a great vibe. Convenient location just off the Lechmere Green Line station.
