"Tap Society, which started as a burger pop-up at Cafe Vin, will permanently take over the location of the former Kings Wine Bar. The restaurant will feature affordable burgers and self-serve beer using Pour My Beer technology. Customers can order using computer kiosks and scan a beer card to pour their own beers. The restaurant will operate with a light staff and is expected to open in June after remodeling." - Joy Summers

My go to place outside of busy uptown and downtown Minneapolis. I’ve been here numerous times and have always enjoyed it. There’s TV that’s play sport as well as tons of board games to play. You place your own order on the kiosk and seat yourself. There is a wall with all the beer and seltzer options and it’s self serve. I love how everything I self service. After placing an order, your food comes out within 10 minutes. The food itself is standard bar food. I typically order pretzels and wings. I’ve never been disappointed! Also during the summer, they offer outdoor seating. It’s a nice lower quiet bar to hang out at.

Google
Tap Society is my #1 place for a cheeseburger. Food always comes out quick. It's always delicious. (Food so good I ate too quick before I could get a photo 😂) And a great place to sample a bunch of beer/wine/seltzer/cider. Definitely go for happy hour! 100% recommend.

Google
Tap in with this South Minneapolis gem. Right off the bat... if you're a beer drinker, you'll love this! Imagine a Coca-Cola remix machine, but with beer! I didn't drink, so that's about as much as I can speak to that. Now if we're talking food... let me tell you! Top notch bar eats for sure! I popped in for a quick bite during a bike ride, and found plenty to choose from here. The food made it from order to my table in less than five minutes. The staff was consistent and always on hand whenever I need anything. Great food with even better service. Couple this with the opportunity to eat in the shade on a beautiful summer day, you can't go wrong!

I was at Tap Society for lunch on a Saturday and had a pleasant experience. It was my first time going so I didn't know what to expect. I liked the food, which came out fast and the options of beer they had. Inexpensive for beer too so that was a plus.

Google
Very impressed. It’s a unique concept, but pulling my own fresh draft bier in the volume I want (so I can continually drink it cold) was great. Whenever my glass was empty I could go pull more, and paying per ounce equated out cheaper than most pints. Food was also stellar! Cannot wait to go back!

Update: This place has been a great experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have updated their ordering screens so that users have more details and fewer menu screens to navigate through, making it more convenient to get your food. I have definitely enjoyed their selection of rotating taps and wines. They have a good range of local and national beers of all varieties. Tap Society has become a staple of the local neighborhood! Original Post: Went to the official opening of the brand new Tap Society this afternoon. Initial thoughts: The place looked cool and the new space was organized much better than the last place using the building. This is a bit of a new experience. If planning on having beer, you give them your ID and a card and they give you a swipe card, which you use at any tap. You can fill a glass with as much or as little beer as you want. When you're done, you take your swipe card back to the front and they give you your tab. If you're having food, you just walk up to a kiosk, put in your order and take a number. One thing they could improve on is the description and details of their menu items (example: the Impossible Burger is a vegetarian patty, but you have no way of knowing that without asking someone). Another thing to note is that none of the burgers come with lettuce or tomato. You cannot even order them in the toppings menu. Despite a few minor items related to the ordering experience, I enjoyed the visit and thought the beer/wine selection was very good and the food was pretty decent too. I will definitely come back any time I am looking for a quick bite and a beer and place to sit outside with friends (and pets!)

Google
Cool place BUT you must have a bit of self control! I would recommend doing flights of all the taps you want to try instead of starting with the pint glass! Nice options of different beers, wines and seltzer. Causal atmosphere. Good indoor and outdoor seating. A fun place to check out!

Google
Great Atmosphere, excellent food, quick service even though they were getting slammed with business. Great Variety of beer, wine and beverages Fun new way to do business and great beer wall Steve (or maybe it was Scott) was running the front end that night and was friendly and prompt, and in a situation were a lot of servers would have been going whacky because they were so busy, he did a great job. And thanks for saving my phone, Steve.

Jessie R.

Yelp
Great beers on tap and a great location for a post work drink or two. Most everything js self-service, but it's fun getting to try some interesting beers.

Tony H.

Yelp
This is a nice little neighborhood bar with above average bar food and unique pour your own taps. They do a nice job, will def be back!

Tim S.

Yelp
Kind of an interesting setup. When you enter you use a kiosk to order your food. The folks at the main desk are there for checking IDs and to give you the card for purchasing your beer. Great and diverse beer and cider selection. Decent bar food - burgers, lots of apps, etc. Definitely try the fresh pretzel and beer cheese. The beer is a beer wall where you pay by the ounce and can try any/all of the options.

Lucy N.

Yelp
I love this hidden gem! Cozy, fun and casual place to grab a drink (or 3), chat with friends and have the BEST chicken in town. I've visited a couple times and always been impressed at how chill and welcoming this place is. I love the ease of ordering from your phone or the ipad stand, and grabbing drinks at your leisure. Tap-your-own spots like this have become my favorite to try a sampling of the offerings, because I'm usually too nervous to try a whole pour at a normal brewery or bar or something out of my comfort zone. I wish I could duplicate this place all over town!

Luke G.

Yelp
This is place is really cool. The concept is great. Get a card, pour your own Drinks, and have an automatic checkout. If your coming here ONLY for drinks it's absolutely worth it for the vibe, variety and atmosphere. The food is expensive and unsatisfactory. Expensive for a 1/4lb patty cheeseburger that doesn't come with fries. Cheese curds are generic (still good, but nothing special). Shakes were great! And they even split into two cups! The wings were the best. Stick with those and you'll be fine!

Christian K.

Yelp
It's a cool place. Order your own food via kiosk. Lots of seating. Lots of beer options - but also lots of kids (here on a Friday night). So it's not divey like some tap rooms can be. Overall: good/fine

Stephanie A.

Yelp
This is an easy five. An awesome neighborhood spot with rotating self serve taps and probably the best bar food I've had in awhile. They also cater to all different dietary restrictions - gluten free buns and you can sub an impossible burger on any of their burgers. Jalepeno Mac and cheese bites, cheese curds, and pretzel sticks are awesome. My favorite burger is the goat cheese and fig but surprisingly the peanut butter one is actually pretty good too! Great outdoor space, dog friendly, staff is usually nice. Only bad thing is that it gets busy on summer weekend nights and you'll probably have to wait around for a table - no reservations. Garlic pepper fries forever.

Neal P.

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere, cozy patio, tuesday night trivia is a good time. Get the wings

Sam B.

Yelp
The concept sounds good but if you're inexperienced at pouring beer, you're going to leave feeling frustrated and ripped off. What ends up happening is you pay full price for a foamy beer. The serve yourself style works fine for wine but for beer, you're going to pour a bunch of foam and get charged as if it was liquid. On a more positive note, the food and service is great

Megan M.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Not enough breweries serve food, and this is one of the few that does! I really appreciate it, I love being able to have some food with my drink and the food here is really good. I also like how you can pour your own drink. Sometimes I don't want a full 10oz glass of beer, so I like that at Tap Society you can pour however much you want (and it's usually pretty cheap). The ambiance is nice, it feels like a sports bar. The service is also really nice and efficient.

T L.

Yelp
Interesting concept place. Self-service bar. When you walk in, you are issued a card that is linked to your credit card. There are numerous taps along one wall, and each has a screen with a description and a price per ounce. There are beers, wine, and seltsers. There is various glassware to choose from (I took a small tasting glass, as I wanted to try a few). Put the card in the slot associated with the tap you want, and start pouring. You can take as much or as little as you want, and it charges per ounce. There are several tables, including a longer high top table. Mainly groups of people, but saw one or two alone, having a drink and reading. While it is self-serve the staff was quite helpful, explaining how things worked. You can also order food, but I just had drinks. While my experience was positive, I probably will not return. If you run the math, the prices are pretty average, so if you go with a group of friends for a drink, it is a good deal because you don't need to tip, like you would a bartender or waitress in a typical bar/restaurant. However, I would not go here alone for a drink again, as it does not have the ambiance of a typical bar. There is no repoire with the bartender, and it would be difficult to strike up a conversation with other patrons or meet people.

Angela S.

Yelp
Wow! What's cool concept and excellent execution. It was a little hard to figure out the pouring system if you are new to this concept. Leave the card in while pouring and don't forget to take it out afterwards. Other than that, flight paddles are handy with markers to help you remember what you're trying. Menu selection is limited but pleased to find a gluten friendly option (salad). I plan to go back when we visit MSP again. Weather was awesome so we found a nice shaded spot outside. Construction made it hard to walk to but that's temporary.

Yelp
I tried Tap Society on a whim after a game at the park nearby, and to be honest, I was a bit skeptical when I arrived based on their format. You sync your credit card to a Tap Society card that you then swipe for your food and self-pour drinks (which you pay for by the ounce). My inclination is to think places like this are kitschy and overpriced, but thankfully Tap Society proved me wrong!! First the wall of beer/seltzer/cider on tap-- They have an impressive variety of local options!! Truly anyone can find something they love here, and they have the appropriate glass for each drink as well as flight options! It far exceeded my expectations. The food was also great and reasonably priced. There are many free upgrade/modification options which was very appreciated! I loved the peppered french fries which came with a super yummy aioli. Seating was first come first serve with great options both indoors and outdoors. It is only street parking, but the area is quiet enough that that has never been an issue for me! I highly recommend Tap Society and plan to return!

Yelp
Been here a couple of times now for happy hour after work shenanigans. I love how the whole thing works - though they could post some tutorials about how to pour beer correctly from a tap. Asking for a friend, I obviously know how to do it without getting too much foam. But other people would benefit from it. The food is good - I have had both of their fries (I enjoy their dipping sauce, and I rarely enjoy those), the pretzel (yum), brussels sprouts (meh), and a burger (yum). They have a small but serviceable outdoor seating area, and the inside feels spacious, not like we're all on top of each other. It is a fun place, recommend.

Kurt R.

Yelp
What a great find! Would love if this place was in Bloomington. Order your food at a kiosk. And get a card to pay for your drinks by the ounce.

Sharon L.

Yelp
FOOD: They do solid bar food, nothing to complain about but not, like, anything particularly special. Which is FINE because food isn't really what they're known for. Fries were hot and crispy, pretzel bites were the right texture, and everything was... solidly okay. BEVERAGE: Okay, normally not a category I include, but c'mon, that's what this place is known for. You get your own card, and there's a beer wall that you go up to in order to choose/pour your own drinks. They have a large selection of mostly (all?) local beers, a few ciders, and may one or two wines. Plus, water glasses for you to fill up your own water. It's a pretty cool concept, and though I'm not a beer drinker, it's a nice summer-evening socializing kind of place for a group of friends because people can just come and go with their own drinks. SERVICE: Prompt, and the first time we were here, the hostess patiently explained the whole setup to us. Honestly, because you fill your own drinks, you don't interact much with the servers here (this is the sort of place I feel like 15% tip is sufficient BECAUSE you don't see much of the servers at all). AMBIENCE: Super casual. The outdoor seating fills up pretty quickly on nice evenings. Inside is sort of dark in a bar kind of way. There are huge booths indoors, as well as long tables with stools. BATHROOMS: Many stalls, the bathrooms are down the hall by the hostess stand. It's decently clean. PARKING: No lot, but there's plenty of street parking-- especially if you don't mind walking half a block.

Yelp
Wow, me & @kaaaaayleexx had such a great time at @tapsociety yesterday! I didn't even know this place existed and now it's about to be the spot The food was cheap and super good! I got the Nashville hot pulled chicken sandwich with garlic fries the chicken sandwich was not really Nashville hot, but the flavor was amazing & the home made pickles We also got the deep fried Brussels sprouts & cheese curd appetizers: both amazing, especially the Brussels sprouts! The set up is so cool inside. We were a lil confused at first (you place the card in the slot and then start pouring your beer) but they have a ton of options & you pay by oz, so it was super cheap overall! Less than $20 I think for us to drink 3 beers and part of a flight! Such a fun experience overall & a nice outdoor set up for you to enjoy a variety of beers in the sun this summer

Jason K.

Yelp
My wife and I were out on some errands and we decided to try out Tap Society. They have about 20 lines of beer along the wall that you serve yourself at. You order your food from an IPAD at the front of the establishment. I ordered the Impossible Burger with cheese and some extra pickles and sauce, The burger was super flavorful and the perfect texture. It was like a real burger and the sauce tasted like Big Mac sauce, good stuff. I didn't really like the draw your own beer deal on the side, it was expensive and not really spelled out for the new person that I was, I would probably go 3 stars normally, but the Impossible Burger prep was way above expectations!

Ashley B.

Yelp
First one in the door on a Saturday with my uncle from Colorado. He had never tried a self-serve tap wall before. He seemed very pleased with the experience. They don't accept tips, but instead donate the money to a cause, which is a very nice idea! Maybe they actually pay employees a living wage. There's two kiosks where you enter your order, not unlike Panera. This accepts cards only, if you want to pay in cash you'll have to talk to someone. Limited selection of just burgers and apps. Like with other tap walls, you get a drink card from the counter and place it on top of the reader in order to pour your drink. The selection is okay with some classics and Minnesota staples. The burgers were classic crumbly bar burgers. I liked the option to add extra sauce, and the carnitas burger melts in your mouth! Overall this could be a nice first stop on a night out. Having been to other tap wall bars, this scores a bit lower in the food / drink category as far as options and flavor goes. I could see stopping in here again with friends if I was in the area! Street parking.

Faatemah A.

Yelp
Great owner! I was a bit fussy about beer options but Mike came and found me the perfect beer. As a small business owner I love to support spaces that make everyone feel welcome. Tap is kid friendly and fun spot that enhances the South Minneapolis neighborhood.

K L.

Yelp
This place is great. Just didn't know it was such a "kid friendly" bar. Sooooo many kids running around, yelling, crawling on the floor!

Hannah M.

Yelp
Favorite neighborhood beer spot! We love coming here - the pretzel sticks with cheese are a must!

Sarah W.

Yelp
Tap Society is one of those neighborhood restaurants/ bars that is surprisingly a great hangout whether you stop by with friends or come with your family. No waiters to bother you, this concept is serve the beer yourself, order food yourself and then relax. It's an easy fun place to just hang out. I personally like the concept and, as a beer snob, am very pleased with their beer selection. They also have wine on tap as well for those who do not like beer. Their food selections (which you order from an ipad) are limited, but everything I have tried was very good. I was especially delighted with the loaded fries with pulled pork. So delish.

Jaima G.

Yelp
Great neighborhood feel! Self serve was so nice and made for quaint conversation about great beers and such. We could eat and drink on our own schedule and we were able to converse on our own time. Highly recommended!!

Trish D.

Yelp
I tend to like restaurants that have the self-service component built into their model. Tap Society is a neat place to go, whether you're just grabbing a drink or eating. What's unique about this establishment is that they have a wall of taps towards the back where you're able to pour for yourself! How it works is that they merge your credit card with a special card for use within the restaurant that allows you to pay as you pour. It's really nice because when you're doing it, you're able to see the amount of liquid and the cost on a little screen. When you're completely done drinking, you put the card in a metal bin and they close out the tab later. Food orders are done using iPads. There are a few areas for customization with your burger, but not a whole lot of additional topping choices. Prices are reasonable and you don't have to deal with tipping. I got a cheeseburger and shared some fries. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of the 1/2 order. They were great and I would recommend getting some. The burger was flavorful and tasted better than I anticipated. The pickles made a perfect addition. While the menu is limited, the food is still good and there's a comfortable vibe throughout the restaurant. It's a fun concept and a nice addition to the food scene in Minneapolis.

Jason T.

Yelp
I was happy to get a spot with my group on a Saturday night. My only real gripe is the communal table. It's tough to get out of your spot especially if you're trying beers at a fast clip. Otherwise, I liked (but not loved) the burgers. Fries were good. Obviously, the big draw is the ability to pour your own quantity of beer. It's a nice way to sample things that you normally would shy away from. Heck, if you just want to chug down some Old Style I think a decent pour was like $2. While it's a self-serve establishment I thought the staff that cleared tables were super friendly (as was the host). I noticed some people playing cards or games so probably a good place to unwind and not feel like you're being chased out after a meal. Overall, very enjoyable and I look forward to a repeat visit.

Emily G.

Yelp
Fun neighborhood spot, great opportunity to try some good local brews a couple ounces at a time. Good mix of ABV so everyone should be able to get home safely :) Tip - if you like a meaty burger, order a double

Garrett H.

Yelp
I've never experienced a tap house quite like this one! Basically they load your debit card on a separate card and you get to go to the "beer wall" and serve yourself! It's fun because you can try half-glasses (you're charged by the ounce) or mix drinks if that's your jam. I was shocked at how cheap the beer was, so that's another plus! You also order your food at a separate kiosk on your own. The menu is simple (think cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, veggie burger, or hamburger and fries) which is kind of nice to not have to stand there forever deciding. These two things in mind, the wait staff is small here. They pretty much help with the beer card and bring you your food, but we weren't really checked up on after that unless we flagged someone down. We just had to close out our beer card before we left. The food was pretty much generic fast casual burgers. The loaded fries could have fed me and my partner for the evening! It's a HUGE serving! Overall, this place was chill and a good spot for us to spend our evening!

Sub A.

Yelp
We recently moved to the area and decided to walk down for a bite and some drinks. Having never been here (or done much research) we were very intrigued by this self-service model. I know-- sound intimidating during COVID times? Think again! This place provides plenty of gloves and hand sanitizer whether you're ordering food on their slick iPad station or pouring yourself a drink. The food was amazing and it's so fun to be able to pour your own drink and try any beer, wine, or cider you'd like, at any portion size you'd like! I highly recommend checking out this unassuming corner spot for your next get together.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
What a great place and easy to bring kids. They have height chairs easy to grab, and they even gave us goldfish! It was great how you could easily grab your own beer and refill when needed- the burgers are a good basic burger and loved the garlic fries, we'll be coming back regularly

Kevin L.

Yelp
PHENOMENAL is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of my experience at Tap Society. It has been my new favorite spot. I discovered this place 2-months ago and I have brought everyone I know here. Food, is presented well and is prepared even better! All sauces are made in-house and their variety of burgers makes it feel like a new experience every single time. Their appetizers, especially the jalapeno mac and cheese bites, are to DIE FOR. Their beer and cider selection is quite unique and flavorful. They do not repeat any draft beer/cider/wine/champagne and yes they do have all of that on tap. If you are lucky, in the summer they sometimes hold free concerts/events outdoors in their back patio. It is a fun and unique environment and it is beyond amazing for the price. Two people with food and drinks will cost you maybe $30-35.

Katie U.

Yelp
I have been dying to check out one of these "pour your own beer" bars. Hit the jackpot with tap society being close to home! Very unique serve yourself experience which is perfect for today's society that doesn't want to interact with people. You will check in at the host stand to get your beer card. It's similar to a tab where you just rack up the bill and they charge it to your card at the end. They have descriptions of each beer on the tv screens above the bar and you can also use the touch screen above every tap to find more info. I thought this was the most innovative concept I've encountered in a long time so naturally I tried every beer in every sized glass to make sure I got the full experience. They had over 20 beers on tap and even a few wines. For food there are a few computer kiosks around the restaurant where you enter your order and grab a number. The food runners will bring it out as soon as it's ready. Their menu is pretty limited to burgers and a few appetizers. We got the chips and queso and wings. Both foodie approved. We will be back to try the burgers. And they have milkshakes which seemed to be a hit with the kiddos around us. The catch is that there isn't any staff waiting on you but that's also nice because you can just do your own thing. Due to this they don't take any tips. If you decided to leave one they will donate to charity. Drinking and giving back has never been easier!

James V.

Yelp
Fun spot nestled near Lake Harriet, Tap Society has a wide variety of beer and wine options for sampling without feeling overwhelming. Staff is friendly and their food is also very good, while being mostly burgers. Lots of outdoor seating was a plus, too.

Jessica K.

Yelp
I LOVED this place! We met here one night for drinks and it was absolutely amazing! I absolutely love this new concept of being able to pour your own drinks so I don't have to invest too heavily in a drink that isn't going to be right for me. The selection is vast and very local which I also love! It really is the best of everything. Only downside is the parking situation can be a little tough...other than that...totally a great place to meet a group and try out different drinks!

Angie O.

Yelp
Fun idea, you get pretty fast service when you serve yourself! No offense servers I know your busy and can't be everywhere at once. Great beer selection! Bacon cheeseburger was good..Fries were good. The queso dip and chips were the best! Low down, check in at door get a beer card. Find your seats, indoors or out. There is one computer to order for food at, that I could see. Pretty self explanatory. Trot on up to the tap wall, make your selection and pour (Bring that card with you). They bring the food out to you. There is also a person walking around picking up after you, like your Mom LOL

Landon S.

Yelp
Terrible name, amazing place. Tap Society is unique and one of the best bars in Minneapolis because of it. As someone who is incredibly picky with their beer, the self-serve concept of this spot is perfect. Out of a revolving 10+ selections, there is always something I enjoy. The burgers and apps are top tier when it comes to greasy bar food, and at an affordable price. Honestly, I'm glad the name of this place is Tap Society. It's a crazy name for a corner bar, but it's not like I want everyone in the city to come in crowds here anyway.

Laurie G.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my first trip to tap society. Staff were really nice and helpful, the food was pretty good, and there were plenty of good beers (and wine and cider) from which to choose. The patio was great- casual and even my dog enjoyed it! I really think it's what they advertise it as-- reasonably priced, pretty tasty but nothing fancy!

Greg S.

Yelp
Decent food. The beef tacos were a good deal during happy hour, but I'm surprised anyone is still using canned corn in tacos in 2023. It's DIY food ordering and pouring from a wall of taps. Food comes quickly. Unfortunately, the plastic water cups have a smell of detergent. Surly Ginger Snap Darkness is currently on tap, which is really delicious.

Lisa K.

Yelp
Over 20 variety of beers, ciders & wine on tap to choose from! The nachos and INCREDIBLE and you get a hefty amount of toppings which I haven't seen in a while. The service is wonderful and the Wild game is in - what more could you want? Come check it out for yourself!

Abigail C.

Yelp
The BF's brother was in town, so we tried to impress! This place was fun!!! Why do I like pouring my own booze so much? As everyone else says, the food prices are great! I had a burger. The bf and his bro had the carnitas burgers, and we ordered a charcuterie plate (mostly because the bf loves showing off his vocabulary skills...) All tasted good! My favorite part, other than the pour your own booze... The fact they have beer AND wine on tap. I love my rosé, so I could have that while the boys enjoyed their IPAs. One gripe, if you can call it that, you can see the running total on money spent as you're dispensing booze. Which is great... But... Maybe holds you back a bit. Probably a smart move for maintaining reasonable sobriety, but my cheap side hated seeing how much we spent. Bottom line, I think it's fun and reasonable priced. Seems like the staff have worked out the kinks. I say GO!!!

Kylie Z.

Yelp
Came with volleyball team after a win! Beer and food were awesome! Staff was SUPER friendly. Will be back!

R K.

Yelp
Cool idea of pouring your own beers from taps that require a key card that is linked to your CC. Good selection of cold brews and you can Black and Tan or just have a small amount. Nice to add into your drinking venues, but sometimes bartenders are part of the entertainment experience. And they have food that other Yelpers think is good. Not. Burgers on sad buns that become wet napkins. The burgers are under $10 and you can get one patty or two but these days we are living in a city of better and better burgers with serious steak flavor and buns that can stand up to fried onions and meat grease. The pickle was the same taste as a McDonalds burger, which I haven't eaten in over 10 years. Also tried the rubbed chicken wings, dry spicy rub. Not the kind of wings I would recommend and the rub will make you drink beer which returns us to the main reason to come here. Real nice staff who explain the card system 300 times a night and still stay fresh. I won't be back, go with low expectations.

Kelsie H.

Yelp
Very chill atmosphere. Loved the fact they have alcohol + food + TVs to occasionally check the score of the game. A good variety of beers, ciders, and wines on tap. The burger was decent and the half order of fries was plentiful. I'd come back here again for a chill afternoon spot. They are also baby friendly.

Maggie S.

Yelp
We didn't eat here so I can't speak for the food--but the beer selection was great. If beer isn't your thing: they have wine as well! They have indoor and outdoor seating and it seemed like the food was relatively cheap! I'd definitely go back to grab a burger and beer.

Claire B.

Yelp
We have ordered delivery burgers twice and they are amazingly flavorful and juicy burgers. We are looking forward to actuly dining in restaurant because if a burger is that good delivery then they must be amazing in house. The fries were weak on delivery but you can't hold that against Tap House...again. looking forward to trying them on the spit.

Cynthia B.

Yelp
Imagine 4:30 in a weekday. Total confusion upon entry. 2 lines backed up. After waiting in one line chosen randomly I discover I'm in the one for ordering beer, not food. I'm a New Yorker and am quickly trying to assess the service model and was left extremely confused, hungry and frustrated. Apparently I wasn't the only one because both up iPads in the OTHER station crashed leaving a line. I'm attempting to jockey for a table while ordering food. Took a while just to navigate the menu interface, meanwhile 2 starving kids and one frustrated husband who overpaid for beer because like any "self service draft", he got plenty of foam which was calculated as a full tap. Overpaid for an expected tap. The environment was just ok. Experience was less than one star. The service folks were doing their best. The food was average. I felt like I was at an airport cafe. Deeply unsatisfying by all accounts. I wanted so much more for our neighborhood.

Yelp
This place just gets better every visit. I first fell in love because I'm an indecisive drinker so here I can get small pours and mix and match. Each time I come back the selection changes. Tonight I went rose cider and wine. The tablet style ordering makes visiting simple with kids - super fast and they think its cool to pic their food based on pictures. I kinda do too. The menu isnt expansive but all of it is super good and so reasonably priced! The wings are the best. Kids love the mac and cheese bites. New find tonight was the goldfish they keep by the water cups for the kids. Seriously are you trying to me me come with my family on a nightly basis, because you are doing a good job tap society. Finally the fact that you dont have to get a bill is awesome, just put your card in the box and go. Another box checked for making it fun and easy to go out with kids!

Yelp
I love Tap Society's approach to beer! Pour whatever and however much you like, and pay by oz! Brilliant! For lightweights like me, this means I can actually try multiple beers, cider, and wine in one sitting without getting Uber involved! The beer selection is reasonable with staples, local representation, and a couple of unique ones perfect for sampling. The beers rotate, so there's always reasons to stop in and check what's on Tap that day. The food...here's where I have to knock a star for. It's heavy, very salty, and sloppy. I don't mind the price if the burgers were just better, and I'd take a Bloomington Culver's burger any day. But because the menu is limited, not a lot of options outside burger and fries. I really do like what they're doing here as a concept, and I would like to support them more. They just have to work on seasoning levels.

Yelp
I'm excited to have Tap Society in the neighborhood! The burgers are delicious and well-seasoned, as are the fries. We also tried the chips and dip - very good! It's a great atmosphere with plenty of seating both inside and out. The tap wall is a great idea and well-executed. (Super fun too.) We plan to visit often!
