Yelp
It's hard to know whether to give these guys four stars or three; they run a good space and there was nothing at all about our experience to take away. But there was nothing truly individual about it, either. Three stars is supposed to be "A-OK," though, so that's probably fair.
This is a big old building on a moderately busy corner a few hundred yards from Highway 20. There's parking out back, a gift shop, a winery tasting room. These guys have the front corner space, but you reach all the businesses via wrap-around porch, so they seem related in a way.
Inside, there are multiple tables in a dining room, and multiple others in a bar on the other side. None of these tables has a view of the bay, from what I could see, but that's alright. There are plenty of neons up from PNW and western breweries, and flat screens showing the game. Everything's clean, but the wood and the lighting are somewhat dark. Feels like a nice intimate place to bend an elbow, but with an upbeat vibe. Lots of locals and a few passers-through hanging out for beers (beer seems to be the focus here, though I think I saw hard licks as well).
They carry Whidbey breweries, as well as a variety of other PNW stuff. We checked out a hefeweizen from Thirsty Crab, which is a newer south Whidbey brewery, and a Crux IPA. The prices were fair and service was really friendly. Overall, this is a place I'd stop again, but we didn't try the food, and didn't get much of a sense of it other than as a place for a quick refreshment.
