Taqueria 2 Potrillos

Great place to experience a higher end taqueria from Mexico. Large seating area with plenty of mest options to choose from. From the basic tacos to keto or protein style tacos and bowls. Great selection of refreshers or aguas frescas. Cucumber lime is my fav thus far. Small dessert options and buñuelos to go. Clean salsa bar with the top three favorite blended salsa de tomatillo as well as the cilantro guac looking salsa. Handmade tortillas are good. Everything is within view just like a traditional taqueria from Mexico. The only issue I have with this restaurant is that they do not grill their meat. At least its not visible at this time. They pan fry it and it felt cold. Also, the burrito bowl asada meat is from a stainless pan and its not hot. I asked if you can ask for well done and they can cook it more for you just if you like a bit more char or hot meat. Al pastor meat was better in this regard because its charred from the meat trompo.

I visited the store today by chance and had the most wonderful experience. Carlos and Chelsy helped me pick out my food and provided absolutely outstanding customer service. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I am a vegetarian while the rest of my family is not, and Carlos went above and beyond by washing the knife before cutting onions and chilies for me once he knew I was vegetarian. That level of care truly meant a lot. He also recommended the best birria for my family, and they absolutely loved it. Chelsy helped me select the rest of the food, packed everything neatly in a box, and even carried it all the way to my car. Everything was very reasonably priced, and the service was truly exceptional. When I brought the food home, my entire family loved it. Even though I live in Orange County, I will happily make the drive again because this is now one of my favorite places. Highly recommended.

I can say I had the best bierra tacos. Hubby had the carne asada burrito and he loved it . I definitely will be recommending this spot to friends and family. We drove out looking for a quick bite and were so glad we stopped in. 5 stars and friendly atmosphere beautiful people too very respectful. I will be back soon. Good job guys.

Lots of meat options and tortillas are hand made. It's not as good as it used to be but it's still a solid spot. Wait times on the weekends can be long.

I was unimpressed by the service at this location. I normally dine in and love 2 Portillos, but the service here was not very good. The cook was very friendly, but the woman at the register was not happy when I asked for more salsa as their salsa buffet was empty along with other taco toppings. The salsa containers that held the salsa did not appear to be clean either. The restaurant was not closing for another 2 hours and customers were still coming in. Not inclined to return due to cleanliness and poor service. Food would have been 5/5 if I would have had all of the toppings I wanted for my tacos . I've been to multiple 2 portillos, and this is the only location I would not care to return to.

We had the unfortunate experience of being racially discriminated against. After waiting for a few minutes in line without even being acknowledged, a Latino customer walked in minutes after us and was greeted and served before us. I definitely will not be returning.

I came here for the first time for dinner, I ordered 5 tacos de asada and guacamole with a large horchata. This place knows how to make yummy tacos, I love that the tortillas are freshly made on the spot. They have a salsa bar with onions, cilantro and lemon. Truly the best. Plus they play the best Mexican music. I’m coming back again. My total for everything in the picture was $30 and everything was freshly made.

Decided to try this place out and I had a very pleasant experience. The service was excellent, everyone behind the counter was attentive and patient as I don't speak Spanish. I'm not sure what I ordered food wise, I just did a lot of pointing and asked for beef and chicken...oh and intestines, which was devine. Their cucumber lime juice was absolutely mouth wateringly to die for, it was Delicious. The food here is good, I quite enjoyed it.

Came on a weekend to order takeout. AMBIANCE Spacious and clean with a pleasant bustle. Plenty of seating and large tables for bigger groups, plus a well-stocked sauce bar. FOOD Tacos: We tried the al pastor, steak, and beer-battered fish tacos--all were solid. Not too salty or tough, and the fried fish tacos were nicely crispy. Torta: Very filling with a soft, buttery bun. I was a bit disappointed that avocado isn't included by default, since I'm used to tortas coming with it. Burrito: Extremely filling. Maybe just a little too much rice, but still delicious with a perfectly grilled tortilla. Drinks: Tons of fresh and delicious drink options. SERVICE This may explain the lower overall rating. Ordering can be a bit confusing at first, and the initial server wasn't very friendly or responsive. However, the cashier was super friendly and helpful--organizing our takeout order neatly and loading us up with sauces and toppings. Overall, not a huge issue. OVERALL I'm honestly surprised by the low rating. The menu is large and tasty, and I'd definitely come back again in the future.

No need to read reviews, just eat here!! Front sign says "Authentic Food" and they were not lying. My husband bragged about their burritos that he would order for lunch so he had to bring me to taste test. Not disappointed at all!! We got the half n half burrito w/ al pastor & chicken. Their tortillas, all home made. Meat is so flavorful. We ordered ahead online & went during lunch hour, they were very busy but still managing to get people in n out. The place was clean and nicer than the usual taqueria restaurants. They have plenty of agua frescas, I got the cucumber and lime, so delicious! We're 20 mins from this place and it was very worth it. Safe to say we'll def be coming out of our way to eat here more often. 11/10.

I would take a picture but what I do to my burrito bowls are embarrassingly saucy, so I will keep my guilty pleasure away from your eyes. I quite like lengua and quite glad for places like this where I can get nice soft lengua burritos/bowls. Definitely on the heavy end though, so I would not go here if you were watching your health. However, for guilty pleasures once in a while, why not? Plus it's conveniently next to a charge station so I can enjoy awesome food with a salsa bar while waiting. There's also outside seating so my dog can tag along and stare at me longingly for a piece. The drinks are also awesome and refreshing with a nice variety from your standard hibiscus and horchata to things like horchata with coffee. The cups comes with a nice spout which makes is easier to drink without a straw, although it's a little bit flimsy. However, you definitely get a huge cup for large! One thing I wish for is spicier salsa, but the array that they have is not bad. Definitely will come back whenever I need a charge!

We go here for a reason! The tacos are flavorful! The service is plentiful. There may be a long line, but, it moves pretty quickly. Homemade taco shells too. Delicious!

We had the two for $20 burritos asada. Also a drink. The burritos were freshly made and good Festive environment with music playing and a constant stream of people. They had many different kinds of drinks and flavors and bottled sodas. They had interesting wooden tables and chairs.

I like it. The food is always good not complaints. Cooks are always friendly. Sometimes the workers at the register are a little rude like they don't want to be there lol

Food is flavorful and inexpensive.. Great customer service. The line moves quickly. Tacos are my first choice. Burritos are huge. Salsa is good.

My first experience with Socal/IE Mexican food did not disappoint. This spot is so delicious!! I ordered two asada tacos and helped myself to the self-serve bar, which consisted of cilantro, onion, lemon, and various types of salsa. My friends ordered 2 chicken and 2 al pastor tacos, so our order of 2 x 3 tacos came with a side of rice and beans. There isn't much servicing involved, you place your order at the counter and they make it for you. The interior is quite sizable and seating is plentiful indoors and outdoors. Our table was a bit larger, so we pulled one next to the other so people could sit next to each other. Something about the seasoning and the tortillas is just so comforting and delicious.

This place is packed on the weekends, but worth the wait! They serve delicious and authentic Mexican tacos with several different meats. Sauces are all good as well as the aguas. They have tables inside and outside to eat.

Amazing amazing delicious food. I am so picky with my Mexican food!! The rice, beans and all the meat are 10/10. Delicious. I had pollo asada and baja fish tacos and they were amazing. Rice and beans were authentic and delicious. Prices are really good and lots of seating inside. They also offer agua frescas and deserts! Service was good, it's like cafeteria style. Everyone was friendly. Would come back for sure!!!

This is the slowest service ever. I came here because I was in a hurry and wanted to eat something quick, but it took them way too long to take my order, both at the taco station and at the register. If you're looking for something fast, this is not the place

I love the tacos here! Their adobada/al pastor is the BEST! Their aguas are super good too, I love their jamaica and horchata :) This is a popular spot since it's so good, but they always run through the line so fast. Also, the tortillas here are amazing. Amazing how the workers make the tortillas and tacos right in front of you. Super kind staff. They also always have clean tables, and I love how their salsas come sealed.

Got 6 tacos and a Sope. So good. Glad we came. Service was quick would definitely come back.

Came here on a Friday evening. The line was busy but it went pretty fast. They offer a variety of meats. We ordered tacos a quesadilla and a mulita. The food unfortunately didn't have much flavor for our taste. The mulita was more of a quesadilla than anything. They don't offer glass bottled cokes but they do carry aguas frescas. Not sure we will be returning here.

This place is great and authentic but they need to work on door dash orders, Uber Eats orders etc...takes over an hour to get the order. Yet when you go in person, food is prepped in 5 mins or less.

Love this place! Most tacos are pretty basic. Not bad. 3/5. But the thing that keeps me coming back is the shrimp tacos 5/5 and especially the MENUDO!! 5/5!! Come every Sunday for the menudo and it never misses. The drinks are also delicious!

The food is absolutely authentic and delicious. You can see the chefs making their salsas and also watch them prepare your food. I learnt a different method which was fun. The staff are professional and very personable. The restaurant was incredibly clean. We loved it ! Thank you!

Just left a few minutes ago after seeing them make my torta dry. Just meat, cheese, two tomato's (that didn't appear to cover more than half the torta), and one narrow leaf of lettuce. No dressing, no cream, no beans. And priced $1-$2 more than most places. Staff said that's how they're made. Since when??? A dry torta???

Al pastor was great! Very generous meat portions, salsa bar was great too. Super cute inside.

The service from the "cajeras" is bad. They only treat you nice if youre a good looking man. They flirt with the men customers but act rude to families & women!

My sister and I were doing nada errands and just wanted to grab some Mexican food and we saw this spot. The inside was plenty and I mena plenty of seating. It also some seating outside if you guys like to eat outdoor. The inside is so nice. It's western theme!! We were helped out pretty past again we came dying the week before lunch. The guys were gays and helpful. All the water is down with fresh fruit and you can tell!! Food Sopes 10/10 I forgot they existed but they were good!! The whole thing filled me up. So I didn't need more than one Agua de sandía (watermelon) 6/10 just cuz it was too seeet for me Will def come again another time to try out more stuff until then they have a 4/5

Food was fresh and good nice seating, loved the fish taco, the horchata was good too. They have cream de fresas dessert and some other cake slices all their flavored waters are natural. The restrooms were clean. They had two single occupancy. The ambiance was good too very family friendly. And service was quick and everyone very friendly and patient on your order. Oh and good home made tortillas

First time here. Would not come back or recommend anyone else to dine here. I took my mom for tacos. She got 3 carnitas tacos, I got two shrimp quesadillas with a small side of beans + rice. One small horchata agua with another small piña. Side of guacamole and chips. Smallest guacamole with no flavor !!! The total came out to $75.84. Ridiculously expensive. Did not expect my total to be that. Otherwise I wouldn't have come here. Especially for some shi*** tacos. I'm Mexican too. Rather go to mi lindo apatzingan down the street from here.

The Meat on the trompo had more fat than anything, The cook was not welcoming, he would just look ask me and not say like I'm ready for your order it was very awkward, the pineapple agua Fresca had a tangy taste , I think it was probably rotten Tacos very small tortilla , nothing special For "authentic Mexican food" I'll never go again Very clean though!

Service was horrible, food is mid, and the ambiance isn't very welcoming. If I could give this place 0 stars I would, been here repeatedly and their customer service sucks. Don't eat here if you don't like feeling uncomfortable people who work here are so rude.

The food was dry and burnt . The Montclair location spoiled me . Also the service took like 30 mins with no one in line . This location could used some training

11.o3.2o23 Taco feast dinner! First time here to celebrate a friend's birthday who wanted tacos and recommended this place. We came here around 9pm and there was a long line. We waited for quite some time in line. We got the family meal of 15 tacos I believe (I didn't order) that came with bean and rice. Then two large quesadilla and a soup, plus 4 drinks. Everything was very good and the drinks, too. We tried the pineapple guava, pineapple orange, and coffee horchata. I liked the pineapple orange more. They have a self-serve bar on the diced onion, cilantro, lemon, and reddish. We stayed until they close and there were still a few people waiting to order. We also refilled our drinks...at cost. Haha

Used to love this place for the food but lately been really stingy w the meat also the meat looked alittle bit undercooked its pastor should be a lil more crispy gave this a second chance but really disappointed

Very disappointed.. rice is hard and dry. Guacamole has no flavor and beans are bland. Oh I am not done with the meat. Carne asada is dry and hard big chunks in small tacos. Never again!!! I had so much better other places.

Ordered the 3 taco combo, a burrito. and a quesadilla. The tortillas for the tacos were soft and very fresh, great amount of meat. Rice on the side for the combo was soft and fluffy, beans were bland but I still ate them all. Burrito was big, half was put away to eat again later. Quesadilla not too thin, nice crispy bits from the cheese on the edges. Meat in the tacos was not tough or dry, good bite sizes. Could have used a little more seasoning but nothing some salsa can't fix. Overall, the food tasted very fresh and much less oily than other places. Can't wait to try more of the menu.

Elizabeth was an awful cashier. Not only did she look at me like I had 2 heads when I asked for my to go order, once it was ready she let it sit there without giving me any kind of notice. She seems like she has something going on that is keeping her upset and impeding her from doing her job properly. To be that negligent you have to do it purposefully or at least with A LOT of spite. Being petty needlessly should not be part of the job. This is not my first time experiencing this from her and at this point it's getting old.

The food here is always amazing. I've ordered tacos, tortas, menudo and I never have a complain about the taste and flavor. The line cook people really deserve the appreciation! The girls that ring you up are what make my stars go down. They always have a nasty rude attitude no matter what lady it is. I've gone plenty of times and always have the same problem. Other than that would really recommend trying the food!

It's really hot and stuffy in here. Would it be possible to turn on the AC, at least during the hotter parts of the day? According to the cashier the owner doesn't like to turn on the ac.

The food is great. We had been to their restaurant as we were marketing in the area. It was very interesting to see the meat on the sword slowly turning so it is self basting. The meat is cut off and put into the taco shell. Several choices of meat all cooked to your liking. All the sauces are served on the side so you can pick the ones you want based on spice levels. I was so glad when they signed up with DoorDash.

Was driving through the area and this was recommended for a good taco spot. Al pastor is my favorite and Taqueria 2 Potrillos' al pastor is perfect! My food of 2 tacos, 1 sope and 1 empanada was ready pretty quickly. I felt lucky because after reading the reviews, there's usually a long line but when I arrived, I was the only person in line. When I left, they had gained a crowd. The restaurant itself is big with lots of seating and is clean. I love the tiny detail on their seat benches. Customer service was good - they took my order and got it right. The person to check you out and pay is at the end of the counter and they offer a generous amount of salsas, lemon, onions and cilantro. My only suggestion is that they offer fountain drinks but the watermelon fresca was amazing!!!!

I used to visit more often , but the last few times I was there it was just okay. You stand in line to get Al Pastor cut off the wheel of meat and they give meat out of the warmer . Getting condiments can be a pain sometimes if you there when they are busy. I go for an occasional quesadilla but it's a bit pricey for what it is .

I came today on 9/6 at around 1:45pm with my parents. We've been to this restaurant many times before, mostly their moreno valley location but we were nearby so here we are. First off, customer service was not even passing. There was no greeting no nothing, which would be understandable if the place would have been busy. It wasn't. On top of that we ordered tacos, a burrito, and a quesadilla -- the al pastor was greasy and they made no effort to let it drain or toss it on the grill to fry it up. The quesadilla was disappointing. The best item was the burrito. We asked for grilled onions on the side, the onion tasted as if though it had been tossed in oil and grilled for a minute. It was completely raw on the inside. Next up, the agua frescas -- we ordered two with light ice and it was if we had asked for extra ice. For a $7 drink, I'm not paying that for a cup of ice. We've been to this location before and many others but this time was honestly so disappointing. We've seen this chain grow and seen all the locations pop up, but it seems that there needs to be a lot of work done on their consistency and employees. I've worked in customer service since my first job and I would never give the service we received today.

Always my go to spot when I want something quick and good. They always get festive for holidays like pink tacos for valentine's day and green for st patrick's. Everyone is always so nice here.

I went here on a recommendation and left fairly disappointed. The restaurant itself has potential. Great ambiance, great music, very lively and vibey. I ordered a fish taco, carne asada taco, al pastor taco, birria empanada, menudo, and strawberry lime agua to share with my husband. The al pastor taco was good but the fish and carne asada tacos were not great and even though we saw tortillas being made the meat must have been previously made so we received cold meat on a lukewarm tortilla. When I think of an empanada I think a baked or fried pocket type pastry. What I received was a quesadilla with lettuce, queso, and meat on top. Since it was birria mine was floating in the consumme and it was cold. One bite of the cold soggy corn completely ruined my appetite. The meat was ok and a generous portion but not something I would have ordered should I have known. The menudo was decent, a good portion of meat. We did have to ask for hominy but that was only a minor inconvenience. All these things I may have seen as maybe an off day but when my husband asked for a to go container the primary cook that took our order was argumentative and kept making a scene and repeating loudly "I asked for here or to go!" I noticed this treatment to other patrons as well, mostly the men. It was rude, inappropriate, and the primary reason I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant. With so many other comparably priced options that offer fresh product and great customer service I will not spend money to be disrespected for a simple request.

Guys we have a problem. I just picked up 9 tacos about 20 mins ago 11/27. Sadly I got a little friend for no charge. I like this place so I'm extremely disappointed:/ To annoy me even more, it's on my asada tacos!!!! Noooo!

I used to love this place. I recently went in for a torta. I was told it would be right out and paid for it. After 25 minutes I asked where it was and they said it was coming out. 45 minutes later no torta. Finally when I asked for a refund they said they would make the torta because they had forgot to make it. What a horrible experience!

The one in corona will always be the best one. Handmade tortillas are smaller than the regular taco sized ones. The burritos are skimpy. Definitely not worth the $12. The meats have chunks of fat and tendons. I really dislike a place that makes you feel like you wasted your money.

We're in the I.E. to run an errand and needed food... this little spot is exactly what we needed! Let me first say that it's incredibly clean in here...the dining room as well as the restrooms. The service was solid and attentive. The Horchata is soooo good! I got the XL quesadilla with Birria. My husband got the asada burrito and one asada taco. The meat is flavorful and tender. I got the solid meal I was looking for. I'm sad that they're only in the I.E. tho, because we never come out here. But I'll know next time!!

We found this restaurant on yelp so we came in today for Father's Day we were pleasantly surprised with their Great Friendly Customer Service and On top of that Delicious Food yup we are definitely returning Definitely recommend this place great food great customer service the fresh agua fresca soooo good

Oh my goodness I have never had a better burrito in my life! The quality of each ingredient is as perfect, and the service was so professional and friendly. I've had many a burrito in SoCal, but I will be coming here much more often! Good job y'all!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This is the second time me and my boyfriend order because we like the food here but the service is terrible. This is the second time we have issues with our order and for the same reason. I called the "manager "who does not even seem like a manager. She was rude and all she said was she couldn't do nothing about it. Aside that I had previously told her that per online Uber was not allowing me to make a report I had to communicate with the restaurant. I asked her for the information about the Uber or time my order was picked up and she didn't know. Apparently to her our order was "lost " and was not willing to help at all. Never again. Horrible service

The food was amazing as I got a long and tasty chicken burrito at the decent price of burritos currently being around 15 dollars. Service was okay, wasn't really much service besides ordering. While the ambiance was just like any, fans, some music and grills cooking in front of you :)
