Stumbled in for Taco Tuesday on accident. 99 cents per taco is a ridiculous good deal. Got some great sauces to go with it, but they’re good on their own too. They are not stingy on the meat, the tacos are pretty good sized, come on corn tortillas. excellent flavor, would absolutely order again. Also tried a birra quesadilla which was killer. Messy, but awesome. Huge amount of meat, comes with a dipping sauce. Best quesadilla I’ve ever had. Elotes are ok, but the real draw is that they have a topping bar where you can mix em up the way you like it. Just don’t forget to doctor them up before you leave if you get the elotes to go. Pictures don’t do it justice. Go check em out, you won’t be sorry.

I went for Taco Tuesday at Taqueria & Tamaleria Nuevo León and it was a pretty solid experience overall. I got the quesabirria, which was pretty good — cheesy, crispy, and flavorful enough to stand out. The place was packed when I went, but the service kept up surprisingly well given how busy it was. They have two sides — one focused on regular Mexican food and tacos, and another side dedicated to desserts, which was a nice touch. I also tried a few of the trompo and other tacos, and while they were decent, I felt like they could use a little more seasoning or kick to really stand out. Still, the vibe was fun, prices were fair, and I’d definitely give them another chance. I can see why people pack the place on Tuesdays.

Loveeeeeee it! I highly recommend this place. I live in Houston and when I come here this is my first stop! I'm originally from the 956 area and living so close to the border, you become really picky with Mexican food. This place is definitely authentic. You must try the Chicharrones, Menudo, and everything actually! Also stop by next door for the paletas. We need one of these spots in Houston ASAP! Juan, the manager and all the staff are so friendly and helpful.

It's freaking amazing! I'm hispanic and grew up around Mexicans and eating mexican food and I gotta say, this is the best Mexican food I've had in the U.S. and my favorite restaurant in Texas so far. Great portions, too. 😋🤤 Big props to the cooks in the back! 🤝💪 👨‍🍳

Nice dual service restaurant. Food on the left… desserts on the right. The place was packed when we arrived with a line out the door. I wasn’t optimistic that this was going to be a good visit but I was wrong. To my surprise, we moved through the line to the front to order in 18 minutes. After sitting out on the patio, our food arrived in less than 10 minutes. It was delicious, but I ordered way too much. After dinner we went to the dessert side for a paleta. I had mango but was a little disappointed because the confection did not have a strong mango flavor… just a hint of mango.

Probably one of the better taco places in the area. The food is great, my only complain would be the agua frescas, They taste like powder mixes. My favorite is their chicharrón with guacamole appetizer.

Very good good, Tacos are done very well. Good size and the meats are done perfectly. Barbacoa is my favorite, but the other choices are very good as well. All food choices are very good and well worth the price. Hot sauces are god, and have great flavor. The have a large ice cream section that seems very popular as well. Store is mostly clean, they could work on keeping the table surfaces more clean, but they offer paper towels on the table and its easy to clean off the table if needed. Store is older, but kept up fairly well.

Been to Nuevo Leon multiple times anf have always enjoyed their variety of tacos, beans and rice. Tried the tamales today for the 1st time and they were great as well. Not regretting buying tamales from a restaurant for the 1st time.

I stopped by Taqueria Nuevo León with one mission: try the chicharrones and guacamole. They did not disappoint. The chicharrones were perfectly crisp on the outside, with tender, juicy meat inside--absolutely mouthwatering. After going in on those, I barely had room left for the tacos (which, as always, hit the spot--no photo this time, I got too caught up eating). Once you've had your fill, don't skip dessert. Just next door, you can grab a creamy scoop of ice cream or a refreshing paleta to cap it off. Heads up: there's usually a line, but the food is worth the wait.

Good experience. 99 cent Tuesday certainly helped. Long line. It was unclear that the line wraps inside as people were lining outside as well. When we got inside, it was like a T-intersection and the guy casually mentioned that we should probably go inside as the line wraps around. That's well and good except I'm pretty sure I was there before them. Nobody actually said that the line wraps inside, they just made up their own rules heh. Anyway.. this is probably just something the restaurant could do a better job of. Making it clear where the line should be. In my view, it should be outside so as to not disturb the dining experience of the people actually inside eating. But I get it, the people in line don't want to wait outside on a sunny day. So it's all about perspective I suppose. As for the actual food that we ordered (tromp tacos), it was good. I get the impression it's same as any other taco place though but this place got high praise from many friends I know so I'll give them benefit of the doubt. They could definitely provide better non-spicy sauce options (or any for that matter) for those people that don't like spicy.

Not putting forgiven objects in food. Can't believe this my first time ordering. How many people have also just swallowed things like this at your restaurant?

a casual taco spot with very tasty tacos! i would definitely recommend their barbacoa and carne asada, would skip on their carnitas next time as it was overly greasy for me and not enough flavor. dont forget to grab their salsas for some spice!!

This taqueria is amazing! All the food is great and very affordable. This place is very casual where you order in front then take your seat. The service was okay - the food came in at a reasonable wait. They also have a patio.

I'm always looking for good Mexican food when I travel and I was pleasantly surprised with this find. I usually don't go for "fast food"-esque places but not only was our food ready quickly, it was one of the best Mexican food I've ever had. I travel a lot and grew up eating majorly Mexican food being Mexican so I am very critical but this places takes all the medals in my book. It was fast, fresh and delicious. We got there right at lunch time and they had a huge rush which in my opinion is always good. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and service was nice, as well as the feel of the place being connected to an ice cream shop it truly felt like I was in Mexico. Can't wait to come back.

Late review: Took my friend to this Taqueria place on Cinco de Mayo for lunch. This is my third visit here. Whenever I'm in Plano for work, I'm visiting this place without fail. You'll never go wrong with their versatile menu options. Like my previous visits, I tried my favorite Tripa Tacos and Gorditas. I also liked the Trompo tacos. My friend enjoyed the Queso birria tacos too. Service is quick, ordering is easy with their big menu screens. Looks like they recently opened Paleteria next door. Hopefully, I can try Paleta de coco next time. Cool ambiance with some tables outside. Would've given 5 stars if not the tamales. I felt tamales were a bit hard.

We went for our Family Sunday dinner here. My daughter told me to try a real Mexican food in the area. We ordered 3 Volcanes and Gringa. They're delicious. Moderately priced and servings are fairly enough for dining in customers. Friendly serving staff. Very clean and well lighted place. We will surely come back.

Pretty sure I got light food poisoning from this place last night. 90 min after eating 4 tromp tacos I was very nauseous, had a migraine and diarrhea. The same happened to my gf the next am before she ate anything. The tromps taco is a great deal, but they leave a ton of fat on the tacos. The salsas are 10/10.

Get. Here. Soon. This place is a jumping little gem! Food and service are A1. It gets packed quickly and the line can be long but it moves fast! Came on taco Tuesday and it did not disappoint. We went for the asada, barbacoa, and trompo. All were fantastic. It's now Friday and I'm still thinking of this place. Was a tad disappointed that they ran out of beans but the manager assured I would get double on my next visit. Super sweet guy! They also have a good sized patio, picnic tables on the lawn and an ice cream/sweets side as well which makes the place huge.

Stopped by again for another go round, on Taco Tuesday and boy was it packed! Tromp taco special filled the place up...pastor tacos were 7/10, barbacoa 9/10...service 6/10. The cute dessert shop next door is great...I enjoyed a pina colada popsicle...10/10.

Loved their menudo! It even had a pig foot in it now I know where to go to get my "fix"!!!! Portion size is decent too!

Fast service, fresh pico and hot tacos. The churro was deep fried and fulled with caramel filling. Worth the $3 splurge!!! Birria tacos were flavorful and the serano pepper was HOT! Ii we liked the slight crunch texture and juicy meat inside. The Trompo tacos are filling for only 99 cents but the meat is a little dry without adding the pico and hot sauce. Pretty outdoor patio seating options with picnic tables and booths and tables inside. Music videos on the large tv screens showed still while the music was played loudly overhead from the large screen televisions

These are scattered around the Dallas TX metro area. I was in a rush to eat a quick breakfast, and found myself near one of these in Garland,TX Nice casual facility was clean & orderly, tables are kind of small, looks like a working class diner. I tried their Espalme which would be like a Mula in Tijuana, with shredded beef or carne desesbrada. This came with grilled onions and a Chile on the side. To types of chilled salsas were very savory & spicy. This was a good indicator to explore more of their menu, some other day. Staff was pleasant & helpful. Most customers were getting takeout, only 1 other table was taken.

I have been hearing about this place for s long time and finally made it here to check them out! The place is rather small for now, but the are finishing out an adjoining paleteria right next door. It is simply decorated with mainly beer signs and advertisements on the walls and in the windows. The place was spotless clean though and I always appreciate that. When I arrived, there was even an employee spraying and scrubbing down the outside patio. For breakfast I had 2 Potato, Egg, and Cheese Tacos on Flour Tortillas. They were really good, and the Potatoes in them were amazing. I would seriously get an order of them when I come back. The service was pretty good, not unfriendly but not overly friendly either. The food was prepared fresh, but I had it within a few moments of ordering. So I was impressed at that as well!

Really nice people with awesome food. The line moves fast and is long for a reason. I really like the outdoor patio and nice cultural setting. This place attracts soccer moms and construction workers. Everyone is polite and friendly. A definite top five of my favorite Dallas restaurants.

This place has good food! Very busy order ahead for to go orders and if you plan on eating in with a hungry appetite get there early as it gets real packed on the weekends and lunch time! Friendly people ,great customer service &fast service!

Oh my goodness, this place is delicious! Lots of items on the menu, we tried the chicken tamales, pirata (beef)barbacoa tacos and trompo. HIGHLY recommend!

Flavor explosion and happy tummy. The queso birria and the barbacoa tacos were excellent. My barber said this was the best so I wanted to try. Picked up my order at 9 pm. Lots of people inside! iYKYK kind of vibe. Try this place!

The good: the steak and trompo tacos, hot sauce and variety of items. The challenging: gets very crowded and wait time to order can be slow. Overall I would absolutely come back for the tacos!

I visit this taqueria every week so that has to mean something, right? This past Sunday I joined my dad here to get some pozole after a very eventful weekend & it was exactly what I needed. I am very judge-y when it comes to pozole (I never order it at any restaurant because I am convinced my mother & aunt make it the best) but I have to admit, this was pretty damn good. The pozole was so tasty & delicious. Served with lettuce, radishes, onions, some salsa & crema, & limes. Perfect. My father ordered the menudo & loved it (he's had it multiple times here.) Side note: we come here every Tuesday-- tacos de pastor for 1$! Can't beat it. Repeat customers. Good job PS: the pozole & menudo are only served on Saturdays & Sundays!

I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, the trompo tacos were a huge letdown. They were burned, lacked authentic taco al pastor flavor, and overall just didn't hit the flavor. I was so excited to try them, but when I got home and took a bite, it was a big disappointment. For my Spanish speakers: nada que ver, no está nada rico. Service very friendly for sure!

i got carne asada tacos and they were tasty and filling! i usually get 3 tacos but i was full after 2!

At 7:11 p.m. i decided to place an order for carry out at Nuevo. No one answered the phone. I wasn't sure if I had the correct number so I continued to call for the next 5-10 minutes. Still no answer. I really wanted a taste of Nuevo León so I then decided to go in person and place my order. Upon arrival, I had the answers to my questions. The place was extremely full on a Tuesday evening. I asked about the phone just ringing. I was told they don't answer the phone when they are busy. The orders were taken rather quickly so I was extremely pleased. I placed my order at 7:31 p.m. At 7:35 p.m. I received a text stating my order was ready. I thought wow that was extremely fast. I went to the counter only to find out that my order was not ready. I was told they were clearing out the system. I asked if I would receive another text when my food was actually ready and was told no! I waited from 7:31 p.m. to 8:08 p.m. for my food. The wait was ridiculous. What disappointed me the most was the mess that was all over the restaurant. I went to get some water and almost slipped and fell. Another customer caught me, and told me to be careful as water was all over the floor. I watched the front counter personnel make themselves something to drink, chat on the phone and hang out while water lay all over the floor. I must admit this was very disappointing to see. There is no doubt their food is really good. For me this was overshadowed by the wait time, lackadaisical attitude, and lack of cleanliness. Unfortunately these issues detracted from the dining experience. I hope management addresses these issues.

Excellent every time! This time I ordered a spread of breakfast and regular tacos The Barbacoa was stuffed full of flavorful goodness. The Trompo was delightfully delicious. The breakfast tacos lacked meat but were tasty nonetheless.

We've only had takeout. All of our choices have been great! We only go at odd hours bc it's so busy! Baracola tacos, we order several and reheat. The sauce is great The beans are great Bira tacos so yummy also. And they reheat stovetop awesome. Reminds me when I lived in San Diego! Dang Told my neighbors we're all behind the hospital.

The food was wonderful! I got the gordita plate with rice and beans. The barbacoa, refried bean and cheese, and trompo were really good. The gorditas didn't taste warm and fresh, and they weren't fully stuffed with the filling. The cheese was still hard and not melted, which was a disappointment. I really wanted to like them, but next time, I'll order other items on the menu. There is plenty of parking, and the restaurant is right off 75N. Service was wonderful the team was very nice. My family and I really enjoyed sitting on the patio as well. Overall, it's not bad!

The Birria tacos are fire here I recommend ordering the quesabirria tacos. The service is good and place is always busy.

Mex-elent. The food was very fresh and well made, it has. I find myself here at least twice a week every week. I will say the tortas aren't the best, but I've really enjoyed everything else

This should be your go to spot for tamales year round!!! Also, you want ALL of the red sauce to go!! It's soo yummy especially on the pork tamales!! And the pkgs are cute and trendy!!! The staff put a lot in your bag if you're taking to-go so they are not shy about sharing their sauce. Please go and try all of the options for tamales, you will not be disappointed!! Happy Yelping!!

What a great surprise. I wasn't sure about this place but got rave and tried it. It's small with about 12 tables inside and a patio area with more tables. I walked in and there was a good crowd and more importantly they were predominantly Hispanic. I ordered the Gordita plate comprised of one trompo, a barbacoa and a carne asada. The trompo and barbacoa were great. The carne asada is my typical go to most places and this was fine but I enjoyed the other two more. Great fountain Coke Zero too. On the way outfielder some tortas..and I'm getting that next time. Enjoy !

I went to this place sat April 12 this was my second visit first experience was good. Unfortunately I can't say the same this time it was 4 of us me and my wife got pastor on our plates and tha was the only thing we ate for the rest of that day and later the same day we started feeling uncontrollable on our stomach we end up getting food poisoning and really sick in bed all Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and finally today we are better. We like the place food was tasty but shame on them on how they handle their food. This was the worst food experience I ever had definitely not going back but be carful eating here they can kill some one!!!

Food was amazing!!! It's hard to find authentic tacos in the Plano/richardson area! Service was great and the location was really clean as well. We will be returning

By far THE BEST QUESABIRRIA tacos I've had in the Dfw! Here for the second day in a row. Service is ok; the bathroom was out of soap and no one seemed to care though. Very authentic ambiance. My husband had the carne asada tacos and chicken tacos wasn't too impressed; lacked a little flavor. Daughter had a burrito and loved it

We love the tamales here. I've had the tacos too and they are good but the tamales are exceptional. I just wish they would do a tamale plate, as the only way to buy them is by the 1/3 or full dozen. They have lots of flavors to choose from as well. Service is friendly. Good selection of drinks including beer. All the Mexican favorites. I wish they would keep the dining area a bit cleaner. They do have someone cleaning the dining room but it always leaves something to be desired.

Love the place , the service and the prices . I especially love the paleteria love paletas .

Some of the best birria tacos I've had. Meat is very tender and seasoned well and tortilla is crispy. You get 4 in an order, which is really filling. Trompo tacos are also really flavorful. They can get long lines at times but it's worth it and are pretty efficient.

This restaurant has inviting atmosphere with the vibrant interior and the cozy patio. The tacos are absolutely phenomenal. The trompo tacos are $1 on Tuesdays. But tacos, even at the normal price, are under $3 so this place is an absolute no-brainer. As shown in my attached image, I ordered two trompo tacos and a barbacoa. My tacos were served with just the meat in corn tortilla, with beans, roasted veggies, raw onion and cilantro and lime. I've attached the latest menu at time of writing. There a myriad of items I want to try and I know I'll be back soon! :)

Guys, don't waste your time or money here. The wait time was over 40 minutes, and the place got super packed -- people were waiting for both pick-up and dine-in. It was completely disorganized. There weren't even proper waiters or waitresses; the people in charge of cleaning were the ones handing out orders. There wasn't much space to walk through, and we didn't even get our full order. People were constantly getting up to ask about their food. The tacos were not good -- the only decent things were the fries and maybe the beans.

I would've rated this 5 stars because the food was really good! Food had lots of flavor! Big lack of customer service. Not greeted , no interest on recommending items. We were left clueless on what to do after we paid since the girl was not wanting to speak to us.

Great trompo tacos! The rice tastes like my abuela made it too. Expect a wait on Tuesdays for $.99 trompo taco day. It's totally worth it.

I recently visited Taqueria & Tamaleria Nuevo León and I must say, I had an excellent experience. The Trompo Tacos I ordered were simply delicious! The corn tortillas were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the trompo meat was incredibly flavorful and tender. One thing that really impressed me was the attention to detail in the toppings. The fresh chopped onions added a nice crunch and burst of flavor to every bite. Additionally, the bowl of beans served alongside complemented the tacos perfectly. The value for the quality of food you get here is outstanding. I find myself coming back regularly, not just for the amazing tacos but also for the cozy seating options both inside and outside the restaurant. It's a great place for hangouts with friends or family. Moreover, the staff at Taqueria & Tamaleria Nuevo León is incredibly friendly and helpful. They make sure you have a pleasant dining experience from start to finish, and their recommendations are always spot on. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you're craving delicious tacos served with a side of warmth and hospitality. You won't be disappointed!

Tried their birria quesadilla and it was soo good! Get this if you are craving something salty and meaty.

This place is consistently delicious. We have been multiple times for lunch and dinner. The tamales are a nice size and have great flavor. The tacos are all full of we'll seasons meat. My personal favorite was the empalmes (get the pork!) and the green sauce is fantastic. My hubs loves the torta and gets it every time. We've never been disappointed by anything we've tried. (Here's the four star part...) Unfortunately they have sweet tamales on their menu and they never have them. We've asked about them every time and never get an answer as to when they have them or if they will be getting more. Sweet tamales are hard to come by so I get it but take them off the regular menu if you're not going to carry them.

Woooow! This place was amazing!! I would say one of my favorite consome in Dallas! So flavorful and well seasoned. The meat was also cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the trompo, tripe, carne asada, birriatacos! Honestly everything is so good! Their salsas are even to die for! When you dine in, they have squeeze bottles that you just pick them up! There is never the risk of running out on salsa!

Tried this place for the first time and it was good! I got the carne asada taco and a bean and cheese taco. The beef had a really nice flavor and I enjoyed every bite. The bean and cheese taco was really good and hot, I added the grill onions to it and it was delicious! It came with a side of beans which were well seasoned! Service was good and it only took like 2-3 minutes for my food to come out although it was really busy. I can't wait to go back!

I've been doing their $1 taco Tuesday for two years now!! Highly worth it. Limited to only their trompo taco.
