Ok....so I've eaten at plenty taquerias in the bay and living in San Rafael have tried a majority of them. My kids wanted to try a new tonight, and I have been wanting to check out Taqueria Bahia.
The place was great. Very clean, the pictures on the wall were spot on, and the service was amazing. The gentleman taking our order was very patient with my two boys and didn't seem to mind their indecisiveness.
We ordered to go and each ordered burritos.
My oldest got a steak Chimichanga. Big in size, and the steak was good. The outside was a little oily but he's a teenager and ate the whole damn thing.
My little one and I got regular burritos. No frills, just straight up meat, rice, beans, and salsa. The pastor I got was good, not great. The rice was over cooked and the whole thing was a little bland. The same goes for my other child who got the grilled chicken.
That was t the kicker. The kicker is the burritos were small. For the price they're charging I was expecting a mission style burrito. Something with a little girth. Instead it looked like a wrapped hotdog from Costco.
The salsa bar was ok, and added a little more flavor to the burritos, but not much.
If i was craving taqueria style food and in downtown San Rafael and would probably keep in walking to the many other taquerias in the area. It would be a hard no to come back to Bahia.
