I've been wanting to give this place a try for a while now, and I can say. The wait was well worth it. The Food: I went with the Asada California Burrito for this visit. After the first bite, I knew this was going to be good. The steak was cooked nicely, flavorful and was tender. The other toppings they loaded into the burrito worked very well together, making it such a flavorful and delicious burrito. They pack it as well, so you won't be disappointed about the size. And, for the price, it wasn't too bad. $12 for authentic food, which tastes better can't be beat. The Service: Service was great. Walked in and was greeted. Took me a bit to browse the menu, but service was fast. The Atmosphere: The restaurant is a little small. So not a lot of tables to sit at. I noticed a lot of people ordering the food more to-go, but I had to have mine right there to just keep it fresh. Overall, a 5/5. Absolutely loved the food here. No complaints at all. I'll definitely be coming back again!

A hidden gem. Finally found a spot that makes a Cali burrito reminiscent of the ones I had in San Diego. Their chicken quesadilla and tacos are also great, reasonably priced and packed with flavor. Highly recommended.

I’ve been here a million times and it never fails. Definitely a staple for me in the DMV. Their California burritos are amazing and very filling! As for their tacos: the shrimp, al pastor and chorizo are all sooo delicious! The staff are all very friendly and efficient. The space is a bit small/limited seating so when it’s busy, you may not find a space to sit but overall 5/5!

Wow. Incredible food. It was super fast and just phenomenal. The rice and beans was amazing, as were the Birria tacos. Amaaaaaing

Great service and so good, I will be back to try more dishes 😋 If you're really lucky, they will play music and sing along from the kitchen.

Taqueria Cancun has a strong reputation for its delicious Mexican food, and I was excited to give it a try. I ordered tacos, which tasted great and were flavorful. However, I found the pricing quite steep — $30 for six tacos felt excessive. While the food quality was good, the high cost might make me think twice before returning. If you’re okay with premium prices, it’s worth trying for the taste.

Amazing food! Recommend ordering ahead online, if possible, as it takes about 15-20 minutes for carry-out. Highly recommend the California Burrito! I’ve also had the Birria tacos and quesadillas are also solid. This place is definitely slept on as one of the top taco and burrito spots in northern VA / Falls Church!

I've been here multiple times since this placed opened pre covid but last night's decision to try it again was my last. I had three tacos, Al pastor, carne asada and chorizo --all of which tasted the same--tasteless, bland, totally unadventurous fillings, mainly onion, few parsley parts--soft cucumbers, radishes and tiny pieces of lime on the side plus hot sauce made tacos more palatable. One beef taco was tough and tasted of old meat. My hb ordered a California burrito which was quite generous in size but soggy, too full of limp fries and lacking in fresh flavors. The prices are exceptionally inexpensive (tacos $3.50) today, post covid. Cutting corners on fresh ingredients such as, avocado, pineapple, sour cream etc make for unappetizing tacos and burritos. Taqueria Cancun has tables to eat in however it does appear to be primarily a call in your order then pick it up place in a small but busy shopping corner. Thus, parking is tight.

+ great simple tacos + the California burrito is a must-have. It was my request after I gave birth. LOL! - it's hot as crap in there in the summertime - small indoor dining area, so take your food to go - parking isn't great - our food took a while to come out the last time we went and we watched them give a lady the wrong order, then take it back after she had already opened the box. I hope they didn't serve that food to someone else. - sauce bottles on the table are sticky (dirty) on the outside They really get a good rating solely for the taste of the food, otherwise the service and atmosphere are nothing special at all.

I got the California burrito with chicken and it was amazing. I'll def be going back. My husband got a few tacos and he was not impressed. He said they were all very bland so the burrito is the way to go.

Outstanding burritos and quesadillas! The staff was super helpful with suggestions since this was our first visit. Don't expect fancy decor - - just delicious food!

Knew it was going to be good when the whole menu is in Spanish and almost all the patrons were spanish speaking. Alot of taco spots in the area tend to be......lets say, gentrified. California burrito was great! Haven't had one since I lived in San Diego and was very pleased. Portion was huge, carne asada was very seasoned and tender, crispy fries, fresh avocado. Just a bit too much Chipotle mayo.

I had never had a California burrito before and heard this was the best spot for it. We got the signature California Burrito and Tacos. The tacos were good, but the burrito was absolutely amazing! The burrito had really flavorful chunks of steak with the perfectly crispy fries that were covered in their special sauce. An absolute must try and would come back just for this! This taqueria doesn't look like much from the parking lot but all the food I've had here has been outstandingly good. The lunch rush can cause a wait but it's worth it. My most recent meal was tostadas con camarones

Hands down the best California burrito in the area. Fries have great flavor and the chipotle sauce really brings it all together. Comes with two small salsas but I ordered extra and I'm glad I did because they were amazing. Also ordered the birria tacos but can't give them a fair review because I heated them up for lunch the next day and you know how that goes with corn tortillas. Consume was tasty so I do think they would be great fresh. Menu was in Spanish but I didn't find that to be a problem as a frequent Mexican food eater. Parking lot was a bit chaotic on a Saturday afternoon but there was one around the side that had a few spots for me to sit and eat the first half of my burrito. On my 30 minute drive home, I did think about the second half of the burrito the whole time so will definitely be returning!

California chicken burrito was solid but could've used a little more avocado and chicken, and less fries. The birria tacos lived up to the hype I definitely recommend! Double check your receipt as we got charged for beef burrito when we ordered and were given chicken.

One of my favorite spots for tacos for affordability, convenience, and taste! I always need to get at least 3! I haven't dined in before, only to-go and my orders are always completed very quickly.

Tacos are delicious and a they have a variety of options. Service is friendly and portions are satisfying. I didn't understand the green sauce but I am from a different part of Mexico so I understand the differences.

Friendly service and great food at a resonable price. This is a nice little hole in the wall taco joint tucked away in a strip mall off Lee Highway in Falls Church, VA. My wife loves the slow-braised Birria dishes, while I faveor the tasty and filling burritos. The Taco Fritos are so crispy, they shatter like glass when you take that first bite, so be prepared with a plate under you. Everything is made to order, so don't expect fast food. Orders seem to take about 10 to 15 minutes depending on the time of day. Lots of folks seem to do takeout. We like the house-made tamarindo. It's lemony-tart and a bit too sweet, not very pulpy either (if your familiar with tamarind drinks) so it's also a good idea to get a cold bottle of water to mix to your taste. Just wen to Mexico City and this place hits just as good! I will keep coming back here for tacos, burritos, and other Mexican food

Here is what you need to know- - It's cheap - It's delicious That alone should tell you to stop by. The menu is in Spanish but fear not English only speakers, the staff are incredibly friendly and I highly recommend you get their suggestions. I got a burrito (made the way the woman at the counter recommended) and it was delicious and huge. It's a small place and I'm betting it's always packed but the tables seem to rotate out pretty quickly. The place has a warm and homey feel. Try it ... you will love it.

I wanted to like this spot but the flavors of the tacos were underwhelming in my opinion. I stopped by with my gf for dinner the other night and I found myself drenching my tacos with sauce. The elote was also okay in my opinion (y'all know I don't play around with corn). I'm not sure if I'll be back, as a taco feen I was not a fan.

I got the California burrito and it really hit the spot. With tax, it was about $11 :) Everything together is just so comforting. I like the freshness and softness of the avocado. I think there's chipotle mayo in there that makes in flavorful and rich. The steak was tender. I also liked the green salsa, it was creamy and spicy but not too spicy. As I write this, I'm debating going back to get one for the road lol! There's not really any places that make burritos like this around :(

One of the best burrito places around Falls Church. I have gotten a fair amount of the menu items and all are solid. I love the carne asada California burrito the most though. Always on time, online pickup is easy. The staff are always friendly. Highly recommend!

A hidden gem in Nova for some authentic Mexican food that doesn't break the bank! I've been here several times, and while everything I've had was delicious and filling, I can never say no to a (great) California burrito. I know..not actually authentic Mexican food..but still great, IMO! From the carne asada, to the guacamole, to the french fries, everything was all wrapped up tight and perfectly. The best California burrito I've found in the area! Additionally, with so many taco places in the area, the asada tacos, al pastor tacos, and pollo tacos are truly some of the best I've had out here! If you're looking for great, delicious, authentic Mexican food, look no further than Taqueria Cancun! Food usually takes about 20 minutes after ordering, but it is completely worth it.

Who needs flowers on Valentine's Day? The boy dropped in with a surprise burrito for lunch and I was floored by how absolute fire it was. The California burrito is stuffed with cheese, pico de callo, aguate, steak, and french fries. I told myself I was just going to take one bite but ended up scarfing the entire thing down during a Zoom meeting. You cannot believe the horror I felt when I realized I forgot to turn off my camera and saw my burrito face in HD on the screen. But it was 190% worth it. This was the best burrito I have had in a long time. I don't even like burritos! I also got to try an al pastor taco which was kind of meh. I'll skip that the next time I come back (which I know will be soon) and order extra, extra burritos instead.

Hands down the best place for your cravings. Service is quick and so nice, they were very patient with our group since not all of us have been here before. Through multiple visits- I've tried the quesadillas, burritos, birria tacos, chips and guac. Never had a complaint any time. I have also gotten carry out and Uber eats them once and we're delicious and hot. Thanks! Will continue to always support this business!

4.5 stars! Amazing place for take-out at an affordable price. The burritos are HUGE. Definitely can share with one other person for only $10! My favorite is their California and Chorizo. The Asada/Pork was just ok since it wasn't too flavorful. Not the biggest fan of their salsas that came on the side. The Tostadas De Camaron was also pretty good! The Horchata is good, but doesn't taste like a typical one. It was more like Injoelmi/soybean flavor?

My friend and I went here for lunch and their tacos were so good!! it's a small space with pretty limited seating, but definitely worth going. We got the tacos al pastor and also the carnitas, both tacos were delicious. I've been to Mexico and the al pastor reminded me of the tacos from Mexico! Definitely satisfied the craving. The sauces were also great! Service was also good, they're quick and sweet. Can't wait to go back.

I just contracted a horrible stomach flu after eating a chicken quesadilla from the place. Eat at your own risk. I won't be back.

BEST CALIFORNIA BURRITO !! We either do steak or shrimp. Small hole in the wall place but but so comfy inside Everything is fairly priced but it doesn't matter cause their food is worth every penny !! Service js fast and awesome and the workers are nice

Such good authentic burritos! So much flavor and so messy but good and super affordable. I could barely eat half they are huge. I definitely appreciate how fresh the food was and would totally order from here again.

I ordered online which is pretty easy. The restaurant does not have a ton of seating indoors but I ordered my food To Go and it was pretty simple. The food was excellent as I ordered the California Burrito was is tasty and has the right amount of heat and spice. I would go back.

Came here after seeing a tik tok of the California burrito and I have had bad experiences with tik tok food but this place was legitimately delicious. The place is small and you order at the counter where the service was nice and patient especially when we couldn't decide what to get. I inhaled the California burrito. The crunch of the papas fritas with the soft avocado and steak was a combination I didn't know I needed in my life. The consumme broth for birria is so flavorful that my friend was slurping it up after finishing the tacos. I also got the horchata which tasted really thick in comparison to some other horchatas I've had but I also think that's because I got the last bit of it. I would like to thank tik tok for this excellent discovery.

How have I never known this place existed?! There are very very few places in NoVA that can be legitimately considered Mexican (most are Tex Mex) but this place definitely delivers. I saw that they had a California burrito and decided to stop by. The carne asada was perfectly cut into bite size pieces and stuffed with fries. Highly recommend. If you decide to stay to eat (there are a few tables), use the red and green sauces -- they are AMAZING! I also got an horchata and it was tasty. Overall, the food here is awesome as is the service. When I want some real Mexican food, I know where to go from now on.

Coming from LA, its been so difficult finding a good taco spot in the DMV area. Thankfully, my boyfriend found this spot and I also saw them on Tik Tok. We've got some really good Mexican food in LA so nothing as really been cutting it but this has got to be the closest thing that feels like home for us! The cashier was so friendly and helpful. We ordered Brriria Tacos, Pollo, Asada, Lengua, and a Cali Burrito along with Chips & Guacamole and Fries of course. The chicken was a bit dry and lacking flavor. However, everything else definitely hit the spot. The meat was very tender and delicious. The fries were our favorite lol, so crispy and delicious! My boyfriend loves the burrito and we'll definitely be back here.

Taqueria Cancun has outstanding food, large portion sizes, with very friendly service. I really like the sodas in glass bottles, great complement to the excellent food. I would highly recommend the California Burrito, you won't leave hungry.

I enjoyed my dinner here! They have great seating available at dinner time, my food was warm, and service was pretty quick! I ordered tacos and two types of burritos. I would come back for the California burrito for sure! Notably, their green and red sauces on the tables were VERY good- I'd love a bottle of that at home! Nothing bad to say, but I've definitely had better! If you're willing to try a new place, give it shot and get the California burrito & try both their sauces!

Did not even know this place existed but I am so glad that I found it. Its as authentic as it gets. I absolutely loved it. I got various tacos and each stood out on its own. All the sauces were very flavorful. The service was great, the employee were very friendly and accommodating and got my order just right. It has a real family vibe to the place. Will continue going back, every chance I get.

Stopped by Taqueria Cancun for lunch today & had the BEST California pollo burrito! Prices weren't bad, lots of options & fairly quick service during the lunch rush. Highly recommend checking this spot out!!

Authentic tacos, located in a plaza. I had 3 tacos, 2 asada, and 1 El pastor, with a side of horchata. Horchata wasn't my favorite - coming from California, I am very picky with that. Overall was a great experience. Bill was around $16.50 after tip.

Honestly not a good experience from the start. I place my order and wait for my food, the cashier after going up twice tells me she didn't place my order in the right position so the cooks could see it... so I end up waiting twice as long for below average food. The burritos protein (chicken) tasted awful as my wife said it seemed like they re cooked it. My quesadilla as well as my wifes burrito ended up in the trash by the end of it. Save your money.

Amazing Hole in the wall spot, simple, clean, once I saw the lady's in the kitchen I knew that it would be like my auntie made the food. All the Taco's, especially the Cancun and classic carne asada are great. My favorite of all the menu items has to be the California Burrito. One of the few places in the area that makes authentic style, great tasting Mexican food. Lady's in the restaurant work hard and well, friendly group of people.

One of the best taco places around. I'm a huge fan of their lengua and tripa tacos. They have horchata and the tacos friotos!!! They have excellent service as well. They have some limited seating but they get a lot of carry out business.

Great spot for tacos! But I think I like their burritos more! You don't really come across cali style burrito in the area but they do it really well. Service is quick and efficient as well. I've dined in once and other times ordered for to-go. They only have two house made hot sauces available but they are more than sufficient for an additional kick to your food. They have an mobile app with rewards program which is a nice plus. I crave their burritos time to time and will definitely visiting again very soon!

Wonderful food! This is the best Mexican place in the area. Can get very crowded at peak times and they don't take reservations. But well worth the visit!

When you first pull up, it might be difficult to find parking due to how packed and busy they are. It may be a small restaurant, but the flavor and their food packs a BIG hit. They proudly frame a Washington Post review for the top 10 tacos spot in the DC/DMV area, they're known for their tacos, but I honestly think they should be rated #1 for their burritos. (their burritos are STUFFED nicely;) I got the original burrito which has your traditional beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, I forget which type of pepper (it didn't taste like Jalopeno but it packed a hit) diced onions, and CHEESE. I have no clue what queso they used but it melted and merged with the rice sooooo heavenly. I never cook chicken cause I never grow up eating it, I've tried, and failed, but tasting this again makes me want to give it another try. The California burrito is almost like a breakfast burrito in my opinion, it's stuffed with french fries, that's all you need to know, just kidding. You can always choose your choice of meat, and add things or request to have something removed. I always come here after work and they are also so friendly, I'm pretty sure they know me by now as the food deprived nurse looking peep from how fast I stuff my face with their burritos, be careful they are hot always fresh off the grill.

Good was amazing! We ordered California burritos, chips and queso and Al pastor tacos. All amazing and the sauces they serve are great too! Good music. Service was great as well!

Ordered their amazing and made to order Original burrito with "Tripitas" as my protein for lunch and I was IMMEDIATELY in love! Wow! The burrito was super filling! I saved the other half for dinner!

Cancun Taqueria draws a mostly Hispanic clientele, so I would give a top rating for the authenticity of its food. If that doesn't matter to you, the tacos and sopes taste great.
