I go to their food truck on wealthy but can't wait to visit their storefront. Amazing flavors. Love vegetarian options. First time I ordered, he realized I was picking seafood or veggies and asked me to make sure, so the thoughtfulness of him was on point. My mexican boyfriend loves that their tortillas are fresh. Their pickled veggies on the side are a nice plus. One of my two favorites in GR for sure.

Truly a hidden gem! Authentic, delicious and very very generous portions. Seriously, the food was extremely delicious. The owner even came to chat with us and shared his story and past. So welcoming. We ate so much. Very well presented and just clean. I felt great afterwards. Must eat!

This is my favorite Mexican place in Grand Rapids. The corn quesadillas are my favorite!! They also have a food truck in Eastown across from Wealthy Theatre with consistent open hours during the warmer months. They have picnic tables with umbrellas, cute for a date night! The couple that owns and runs it including making the food are so kind ☺️ support this wonderful local spot! Affordable too! Around $30 for two people.

This is hands down the most underrated taqueria in Grand Rapids and the surrounding areas – a true hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors. The menu is refreshingly simple, offering a selection of tacos, tostadas, quesadillas, and chilaquiles, but it’s all you need. The tortillas are handmade, and the meats are full of flavor, tender, and juicy. Tacos come with the traditional toppings of chopped onions and cilantro, and let me tell you, no taco is complete without its perfect companion – salsa! This place takes salsas seriously, offering a range of bold, flavorful options that pack real spice (and there’s something for every spice preference). Unlike the bland, watered-down salsas you often find elsewhere, these are vibrant, complex, and absolutely delicious. The tacos and quesadillas are outstanding, but don’t miss the chilaquiles – especially with the green salsa. They’re hands down the best I’ve had. They also offer nopales – a cactus commonly used in Mexican cuisine – which makes for a great vegetarian option. It’s clear that a lot of love and passion go into every dish, and you can taste it in every bite. I have a deep appreciation for restaurants that go the extra mile to serve truly authentic food, and this place nails it. On top of the amazing food, the customer service is top-notch. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and more than happy to answer any questions about the menu. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and check it out!

Chilango was so, so good! The guacamole was flavorful. The seasoning on the moist chicken was delicious. The service was fast and friendly. The prices…reasonable. We will be back!!

Google
Super welcoming spot for authentic flavor with some unique menu items (pickled cactus taco!) The picadillo quesadilla and taco campechano were so delicious, as was everything else we tried! Don’t sleep on the Horchata or the chips & guac. Menu is vegetarian friendly with lots of options for the carnivores too. Loved the vibe! The owner, Pedro was so kind. You could feel the love and passion for his food through his helpful explanation of the menu and warm welcome. The neighboring Broad Leaf Underground is hella cool with great drinks - both spirited and na. Again, just as welcoming. We wanted more Slayer 🤘You gotta go!

Taqueria Chilango is a gem! Authentic delicious tacos, amazing service. We sat outside on the patio and had drinks from Broadleaf Brewery next door. Relaxing atmosphere and tasty dinner! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Google
Very hard to find good authentic tacos. Here I not only found tacos but a great variety of of authentic street food. I think it's all in their artisan made tortillas which are pressed on the spot. It's definitely a great spot to go to this summer!

Yelp
This is it people. You want excellent tacos in GR? Go to Taqueria Chilango. The tacos are grounded yet dreamy. Pay the extra dollar for the placero, it's worth the tantalizing textures and wowza tastes; tender steak, spicy chorizo, and them fried potatoes??? OOO GURL STOP! Also house made chippys with a classic verde salsa and a unique little peanut guy??? COME. ON!!! They are at Broadleaf on the west side through the winter and their taco truck on Wealthy during the nicer weather, both locations are cool! The people who work here are so kind and have a great vision for food. EAT THESE TACOS.

Yelp
I tried Chilango for the first time today. I stopped by on a whim after an appointment for a late lunch, and oh my word, I was not disappointed. I was expecting run of the mill tacos, but what I got was far from that. I tried the cecina con papas and a classic carne asada. Cecina is beef shoulder cut into thin strips and marinated in lime. The owner said they're his favorite, and I see why. All of tacos were flavorful. Their ingredients was fresh and high quality. The tortillas are house made and the salsa was bomb. They even added in a little radish garnish that had been marinated in lime and chile. I left with a smile and happy belly.

Yelp
I saw some posts on social media about a new taco truck, so Nate and I headed over on a sunny Saturday to grab a snack. The menu includes tostadas, tacos, chilaquiles, and quesadillas. I got a mushroom quesadilla and Nate got an al pastor taco and a carne asada taco. Our food took a little bit of time to come out but they were really busy! They have some tables and seating available but it's definitely limited. And be careful of splinters! The tacos were on the smaller side but you can tell that the tortillas are homemade and they had a good flavor. Just a little bit dry but the salsa helped. The mushroom quesadilla was interesting; it was folded in half and almost seemed like it was deep fried. I liked it a lot but wish it had a little more cheese. The menu lists feta only, I'm not sure if they use any other cheese in that. I think they're trying to get permission to be in this space on Wealthy Street permanently, which would be really cool. It's a vacant lot and there are no other places in this area for tacos.

Yelp
Fast and delicious served with an amazing attitude and pride. These are some of the best tacos I've had and I've had a lot of tacos. I got the Cecina and the nopales. I will stop back here on my way back through town.

Yelp
Tacos and chilaquiles were great! Best Mexican food I've tried in Grand Rapids. Family friendly, good outdoor vibes and in front of ice cream shop.

Yelp
I never thought that watching my first son be born would become the second best day of my life after eating these tacos.

Yelp
The best authentic tacos in the GR area, if not, MI!! Handmade tortillas and delicious meats. The service is excellent as well. A great place to walk to with your dogs on a nice spring/summer day. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Amazing! Best Mexican in town by a long shot. Chilaquiles, LEGIT Al pastor, and crispy quesadillas are what we got. This will probably be a weekly stop for us as we have very high standards on tacos after living in Mexico and these are the closest we've gotten to the real thing since being, mostly because it IS the real thing.

Yelp
I would give 6 stars if I could. This food truck (just across from the Wealthy Theater) has to have some of the best Mexican food in Grand Rapids. It has a nice outdoor seating area with tables. I ordered the chilaquiles with Al pastor (my favorite), which was very reasonably priced and the service was quick! I'm very excited to go back and try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
This food truck was very very good. Great taste and service. You will be very satisfied after eating off their menu for lunch, dinner or a late night snack.

Brad H.

Yelp
The owners are very friendly and the food was delicious. The outdoor seating had a park like setting so we were able to sit and enjoy our meal. This location is ideal to take a break from your walk or if you want a bite to eat before enjoying the day on Wealthy Street.
