I didn’t know what to think about this place because it is pretty unassuming, but the food was amazing and the salsa bar if you’re hungry and want Mexican food just go here. Only bummer is there’s no margaritas.

Place was decent overall. I prefer the Ventura location on the avenue for the food & salsas. This one is very clean though and the staff is very app to clean tables and trash areas which is nice. Food was pretty good, salsas are basic. They do have a self serve salsa bar which is cool. Prices are decent as well. One thing I did really enjoy and will return exclusively for this. The fresh mango drink they have is amazing. Very refreshing & not too sweet. It’s a bummer they don’t give refills on it, unfortunately they have to charge you for a whole extra drink for more. Great spot to eat and hang out inside and outside.

I order the carne asada burrito, carne asada and carnitas tacos and they were all very good. The food tasted fresher than other taquerias. I liked how they labeled the salsas from mild-hot. The restaurant was clean. The food is taken to your table. Good customer service. Its interior design was nice and modern with a relax atmosphere.

We love this place, we enjoy the happy hour drinks and food. The service is great, they have multiple TV’s where you can enjoy the game.

Decided to give this place a shot since I could not find any taco stands. Ordered a torta and two tacos that came out to almost $30 with a fountain drink. Said hello no and just got the torta and drink for $18. Long story short meat was dry cheese half melted more beans than meat and bland. The only good thing about it was the taste of the bread. Should have gone to in n out to get more bang for my buck.

Came here hungry looking to eat good food got the trio Mexicano horrible flavor meat was soggy as if was frozen and the cheese wasn't even melted correctly this place isn't what it use to be two years ago

The beans are the best I’ve had. And the little tortilla shell it comes in - bomb. The pastor taco has a good char to the meat.

Great experience here this afternoon with a perfectly made shredded chicken burrito (love that they cut it in half, love that the guacamole I added was throughout the entire burrito and a part of every bite!) Pretty sure the owner took my order - regardless, that person clearly had a lot of pride in their menu. I asked for the hottest salsa (green) and I'm very glad i also got the red ( a step down and perfect!) Will be back soon - this is one of the best burritos I've had in a long time and in all of LA.

For years we patronized the flagship restaurant on upper Ventura Ave. I was surprised to learn this family business has this Oxnard location. Same quality food, service & Joaquin (founder/owner) even came to our table to acknowledge a minor mistake was his & not his employee. That impressed upon me & speaks to the moral of the establishment. Outstanding authentic central Mexico cuisine ~ we will visit again.

Treated my mom to her favorite - menudo for Mother's Day We hit this spot in Oxnard. She loved it. Even ordered a pata on the side. I ordered the pozole blanco with a side of chicken taquitos. Both rico y sabroso! So much food we honestly could have shared it. We also learned they are now opening at 9am on the weekends. Love the self service salsa bar. The place is clean and there's little fresh flowers on every table. Very charming.

Pretty good burrito spot. I always get the carne asada burrito as that's my go to Mexican dish at any Mexican restaurant. Here I would give it above average. It was delicious but I still have my favorites in the 805. Don't get me wrong, this place is still worth a visit. They have a very extensive menu with all kinds of meats and the prices are pretty good. Salsa bar is good but you do have to order chips on the side as it's not complimentary. The interior is very clean and modern, not hole in the wall-ish. Would definitely come back here to try out the other dishes in the near future.

You can find a lot of different Taqueria type spots in the Oxnard area. I have been to this location a number of times and I think it is one of the tops. When I come here it's all about the tacos for me. So many choices and they are small enough to try any and all. I normally always get Asada, topped with their orange salsa is the best. I really like them. This visit we got some Asada tacos of course, so much flavor, really well done. Also, got the Al pastor and grilled pollo tacos. The Al Pastor was very good, flavor and texture was on point. I will say I was a little disappointed in the grilled pollo, it was a bit dry, but could have been an off day, I would think these would be perfected serving them day in and day out. The service is quick, order and pay at the front counter, then you seat yourself while you wait. I like the paintings around the restaurant. They have a self service salsa bar, get the orange habanero one, nice spice and flavor. They also have self service drinks which is great. They have a good amount of seats inside and they also have a small outdoor seating area. Check them out, great tacos and so much more. Enjoy!

I've been eyeing this location for a while now and had been wanting to see what this spot was about. Thanks to a friend who recently took me to their Ventura location I now knew Taqueria Cuernavaca was serving up quality Mexican food so I didn't want to put off trying this location any longer. I like this restaurant as it's big inside and right off the freeway making it easy in and out. Plenty of parking and clear signage. Here you order at the counter and then grab yourself a table. I appreciate that the signs are big and clear to read. I opted to take my food to go so I can't speak to the ambiance of the place but the service was really good. The gentlemen taking my order was friendly and welcoming. Quick to get me in and out which I appreciate when I can't dine in. The prices are very reasonable here too. I couldn't believe what great deals they have on their taco combos. I got two carnitas tacos, an Agua Fresca, and rice/beans for under $15. A real steal if you ask me. The food and drinks here are consistently good. I love their carnitas, super tasty. Here they are a little more fatty and larger pieces but it was really good. Rice and beans were stellar also. I like their jamica drink here, it's not watered down like some other places do. The drink was super refreshing and delicious. I love this spot and business that I'll keep coming back.

Great food, we go every 2 weeks and the food is always hot and fresh. Service is great too they bring the food right to your table. Salsas are just right with good flavor. Highly recommend

It's Thank You Thursday and I am definitely thankful for this spot because it is my go to after long hours of working in the hospital. Service is always great weather. I go in store to do a quick to go order or order via a third-party delivery app. I love the Chilaquiles, It definitely hits the spot And it is definitely one of my comfort food before sleeping. The staff are always nice and they've definitely seen me on mine not so better days and they've always been so kind and service is always fast.

Obsessed !! I have been going almost weekly! Great customer service and they just have diff locations. My two faves .. are the Ventura Downtown and the Oxnard one. Amazing tacos !!! Chill taco spot no frills !

Was sceptical at first, because all these yelp reviews said that they have the best burritos, but I have really high standards for burritos LOL But to be honest, the yelp reviews were right. Not to mention, there's also is really good.

As always the food was delicious. Ian was super helpful in getting my order right! The ladies at the counter were super sweet. My favorite place on Main Street in Ventura. And now in Oxnard for my party platters.

I really wish I would've taken a picture of my food, the owner definitely has his clients in mind as he is not stingy with the meats in the dishes he serves. I have previously met the owner Joaquin and even being a busy business owner he always has a smile on his face and is very friendly. You know, I am always skeptical of placing online orders fearing my order will be wrong, but so glad I did because my order was perfect. Let me tell you it was a large order with various items; my friends and I loved it and it will not be the last time we will be ordering from this great restaurant. Seeing a quesadilla with hot cheetos as one of the top pictures for this place had me very skeptical. But it was surprisingly good! I tried the asada burrito and the lengua taco. First the burrito: Great flavor and size! This burrito mind you has beans and rice and a bunch of other goodness (as opposed to some places where it's just meat). Pretty good for the price. Taco: tortillas were great. The ratio of meat to tortilla was fantastic (lots of meat!). The cilantro and onion added of course good flavor. Green salsa: Fresh tasting, but could use more flavor. It mostly tasted like blended chiles, lacking other essential salsa flavors. Red salsa: had more flavor and was pretty good, but I in general don't like chipotle flavoring.

Amazing Mexican food and wonderful service. It's nice to be able to get a good Jamaica. They have one and it's refreshing. Delicious street tacos. I also got their brirria soup. It's goat meat and it's great. I do wish it is not lukewarm. I like my soup boiling lava hot but I get that people sue for everything. But this does feel barely warm. I would like it more if it's hotter. You can definitely taste the spices.

Tonight, nothing tasted right. We eat here often, nothing was tasty & in fact, i threw out a meal because I was concerned with the flavor & what was in it.

I travel often, so get to try new taco spots more than most. This place is on point! My two favorites were the crispy tripa and chicharron tacos. I'll be stopping in the next time I'm in the area...

I loveeee their burritos here. Horchata could be a little better though. I love how they're consistent with their quality too.

We came here bc the pizzadilla was highly recommended. It was ok. There was nothing special about it but it's pretty creative on how they package it. The asada burrito was tasty; liked how they cut them in half before wrapping it in foil. They forgot to give us our horchata so had to go back it. I don't think the woman (maybe owner), didn't believe me which made me feel unwelcome. To be honest, it's a good location for the business since there's a lot of traffic going through but the parking sucks! Park far if you need to. The food average.

I usually come here cause of their salsa. I ordered a Chicken Burrito & Side of Chips and salsa to-go. I was only given 3 salsas, it was an extra charge for additional salsa. Are you kidding me? I might as well dine in since I tipped. Burrito was on the small size. I do prefer the Avenue location in Ventura.

Now I've only had three things here: the asada tacos, alpastor tacos and horchata. But man are they consistent every time! The meat is so flavorful and the tacos are well served. The salsa bar is always stocked and they have some great salsa verde. The horchata is good, not the best for my taste but it's consistent. The place is always busy yet clean. Service has always been great. Give this place a shot!!

I tend to forget about this gem with so many Mexican options in Oxnard. But if you are near the auto center mall this spot is a must visit. I originally found this place living in SB and they grew into a small regional chain of restaurants (Oxnard/Santa Barbara/Ventura [2]). My go to items are their tacos, tortas or sabores. Very fond of their al pastor as it's seasoned just right with the right amount of kick. Pairs perfectly with their avocado salsa and a little pineapple. Their papas con rajas y queso (veggie #1) is the only veggie taco I will order when out! And if I'm feeling really hungry the sabores plate is plentiful. Siempre bueno!

Went here for lunch it's an authentic Mexican restaurant. Prices are decent we had burrito Pastro, quesadilla chicken and 2 chicken tacos for under $40. The chicken tacos where good with good delicious flavor. My daughter had the burrito she said it was delicious and the chicken quesadilla was pretty good as well. If your ever in the area and want good Mexican food try this place out.

This place was so amazing! We are not locals and were looking for a restaurant to eat breakfast and so glad we found this place! Everything was a 10/10, the food, service, ambiance, everything! We got the pozole and it was so flavorful and yummy! I would recommend this place a million times! Thank you for such a great experience.

Decided to try this spot out, by accident, we meant to go to brother tacos but due to traffic (I got in the wrong lane) we ended up going their direction we honestly didn't think the food would be great - but we just wanted some tacos. This spot is located in the old Fry's shopping center - closer to red lobster though. The dining area is clean and welcoming, and staff does a great job cleaning up after customers as soon as they leave. Prices are reasonable: we ordered 4 lengua tacos, 2 fountain drinks, a burrito "to go," and a flauta plate - $45. My husband remarked the lengua tacos were bomb - he thought they were full of flavor and the salsa was so good (they have a salsa bar). My flautas were great and portion size was good, I think my only complaint was I didn't get sour cream or guac. We spent about 45 minutes eating and then headed home. I had ordered a burrito "to go" for my son. About 5 minutes after I handed it to him, he texted me asking where it was from. Then he called me asking again where it was from, I told him, and he remarked, "that was honestly the best burrito I've ever had in my life, it had flavor and the beans, rice and cheese were so good, if I had a complaint, I'd just say I wish it was bigger." So there you go folks, if you're looking for a spot to get a quick and tasty meal, head to Cuernavaca, we will definitely be going back.

Delicious food! Fiancé is obsessed with their asada burrito, so much so that we drive here on weekends to eat their food. I got three tacos, asada, pastor and chorizo, all were delicious and for once we finally found a place where the asada is not dry. We will be back to try the mole and pozole next!

Was trying to figure out what to get b/c there were so many good choices. I have gotten the tacos so many times b/c they're so delicious especially carne asada and al pastor tacos. This time I wanted to try something different. I saw the Pizzadilla and was like omg I need to get it since it has Hot Cheetos. I ordered the small size and glad I did b/c it was the perfect size for 1 person although it's for 2 people. The cheese, hot Cheetos, carne asada, and al pastor....omg what a delicious combination l. I couldn't finish it b/c I got full with 4 slices but if I could I would've finished it all. The hot Cheetos and spicy salsa for the extra spicy kick....perfect! def recommend the Pizzadilla! Get it! It's worth it! One day I will go back and get the full size Pizzadilla. Challenge I need to eat hahaha

I came here based on the excellent reviews. When I got there, it was a little busy. When it was time for me to order, the guy that was helping me wasn't very friendly - he wasn't rude per se, but he seemed indifferent, as if I was bothering him. I got chicken and el pastor tacos: It was ok. Nothing special, I didn't like the mayo-ish hot sauce they gave me. I wish they had included some grilled onions. Cubano Torta: This was a train wreck. You can look at the pics to see. The slice of ham reminded me of the Oscar Mayer packaged ham I got as a kid. Overall, it ate dry. I wouldn't recommend. Overall, I wouldn't go back - mainly due to the poor service...

We have been coming here for years now The food is great .. but the serve is really bad I've never felt better about hitting the no tip section I never expect anything more then just my food .. Leticia is by far the worst I try to avoid her service .

We went on a spontaneous drive down the pch and got hungry in Oxnard! I love the food in the area! And I chose taqueria Cuernavaca for lunch because I had seen Tendi Eats go here and I just had to try it! Alllll of our food was delicious. We got a carne asada torta, a carne asada plate, camarones ala diabla and a chicken tinga quesadilla. Service was great and food came out piping hot and fast! The bread on my torta was so delicious and fluffy!! The cheese, tomato, cold lettuce was all so good! The carne asada was perfect and full of flavor. My sister loves her camarones, and I did too! Brother in law loved his carne asada! I took a few videos but I can't seem to upload them :(! If you're in Oxnard check this place out!

Their food is good but the light skinned dude with the tattoos in the morning has the shittiest attitude. I am one to leave a good tip but today 10% felt like too much. I heard him on the phone. I'm assuming someone he knew and was all shits and giggles, but took my order with a big ass attitude. If he doesn't like his job, he should look for another one where he doesn't have to have customer service skills.

Best salsa ever!!!! I'm a sauce girl and love all the salsas they have and everything I've ordered from here has been bomb. Love the chicken tinga tacos/burrito and just ordered a tinga quesadilla today. Everything so delicious best burritos ever. Tortas amazing and huge!! I usually can only eat half and save the other half for later. Service is always fast and friendly. Always lots of people eating in here and clean. Amazing all around

Haven't been here in over 10 years, and showed some out of town family some legit mexican food. Turns out better than I knew from before. Torta cubana is so good, well seasoned. They turned up to add quesadillas birria tacos to the menu. And again super good. Had to throw in onion/cilantro from the salsa bar to complete the taco. Will keep in mind more in the future when I crave some good mexican food

We just moved here and I'm looking for a good breakfast burrito. Finding good go-to Mexican food is important to me. The entire restaurant was full when we arrived which is a good sign that the food is good. I ordered a breakfast burrito and potato taco. The breakfast burrito had eggs, potatoes, refried beans, cheese. It was okay. It surprisingly needed salt. It's still not as good as burritos I've had in Los Angeles. The potato taco was good. If I came back, I'd get the taco again. I'm a vegetarian and finding a good burrito to fill me up is important to me. The burrito wasn't as filling as I hoped but the taco was good. My father had cheese enchiladas with a red sauce. The sauce was hot and smoky and had a good flavor. The beans came in a fried tortilla bowl. The beans and rice were good. I imagine the meat options are popular, but I wouldn't know. There was a salsa bar with four kinds of salsa, pickled carrots and onions, radishes, limes, hot peppers. I love when Mexican restaurants have the self-serve salsa bar. It really adds to the value for me.

Certainly! I highly suggest this spot. I tried the Cuban taco, and it was fantastic--generous portion, incredibly flavorful, and authentically delicious. The salsas complement the dish perfectly. I plan to revisit soon to explore other enticing menu options.

The food is delicious. I never thought it was going to be that. Wow, especially the torta Cubana. Wow, what a surprise. Scene flavor first in your mouth delicious flavor and even their jalapeño not spicy just right. All the food we tried. Impressive--excellent service, immaculate. I highly recommend this place.

Toothpick was left inside my flauta. Love the food but it was very dangerous to leave toothpick inside food. Cashiers are not friendly.

SIGH. This place felt like a 5 star review until I found hair in my burrito (gross) food tasted good until that point i was so disappointed this was my first time eating here. The chips are great not to oily. i really hope whoever is in the hack preparing food wears a hairnet and i was one unlucky customer...Dine at your own risk im sharing my experience only reason i gave it two stars was the taste the hair lost the other 3

This is our go-to spot for the best Mexican food in Ventura County. We love the Oxnard location and the Friday night front of house crew, Ney and Karla C. are so friendly, kind and gracious-they are the best and the reason we patronize the restaurant that night. The carne asada burritos, taquitos, rice/beans, horchata are fresh and delicious. But the veggie tacos #1 (potato and rajas) are perfection. Best salsa bar as well-the hot green salsa is amazing.

As a hot Cheetos fanatic, every time I HAVE to get the pizzadilla. I have never had anything like it, and there is so much meat! Make sure to eat it fresh or else the hot Cheetos get a little soggy. It's a pretty decent size so make sure you get something smaller if you want space to try something else.
