Google
Delicious tacos and burritos along with vegetarian options! I had the veggie taco #1 and Al pastor burrito while my partner had their potato burrito

John Luebbers

Google
Best Tacos! Amazing delicious tortillas. Great flavorful options. Nachos asada wonderful.

Google
Beef Flautas were delicious. The tomatillo salsa in the salsa bar was perfect with them. My friend ordered the nachos, and they were also really good. Guacamole is fresh.

Jenna Breiner

Google
Best legit, vegetarian tacos I've ever had! Highly recommend Veggie Taco #1 and #2. The refried beans are also vegetarian and came in a cute little chip cup. Also ordered a grilled jalapeño which was grilled to perfection. Will definitely be back! Free parking in the adjacent lot.

Google
Came here after a camping trip, fueled up before heading home. Owner is from Cuernavaca, which is awesome because so was my Dad. Had a quick conversation, excellent service, delicious food. Would come back again!

All the food here is so BOMB and fresh. Love this place so much!

Google
Surprisingly delicious food. I ordered the mole enchilada and u should’ve asked whether they were spicy or sweet mole which in this case they were the latter, I don’t care for sweet mole so it was not my cup of tea. I am glad I had ordered an al pastor taco and tripas taco. Both tacos were delicious with al Pastor been a slight favorite. I would definitely recommend them. Service was friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time. Ordered tacos, asada, chorizo and carnitas. Also got free rice and beans. While driving back home I can well the food was going to be tasty. Had lunch tacos were amazing, you can taste the quality. Hands down

Yelp
I am so sad to say that this location has been missing the mark lately. In the time since my first review, the quality of food and flavor has declined, and while it pains me to say this, after three disappointing experiences, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. On my last visit, my brother and I ordered two number 2 veggie tacos( an all time favorite with raja, sautéed mushrooms, and melted cheese) and a carne asada taco plate. Their veggie taco has always been a standout menu item but it seems they've changed the recipe (and the cheese they use) and the new version lacks both substance and flavor. The carne asada was dry and rubbery and the rice and beans arrived cold, despite dining in. I really like Cuernavaca, so here's hoping the Oxnard location keeps the original recipes and continuity of service.

Yelp
So the food was good, lunch for 3 was about $60.00 so not really cheap, and they messed up all three orders. We had two bowls, chicken and pork, both were delivered to the table without the lettuce and tomato. (See Before Photos) third order was Chili Relleno, received Chili Verde. Chili Verde vs Chili Relleno I can chalk up to a simple mistake, but the Bowls without lettuce and tomato, that is just poor quality control. Good Food, Poor Quality Control and a higher price point move what could have been 4 stars down to 3.

Yelp
This is not a place to go if you are expecting a hostess and waiter experience. It is a nice, clean, little place to place to grab some Mexican Food. When you arrive, order at the counter before sitting down. If you have people with you, save a table! This place is little and it will fill up within minutes even if it looks dead. Service is fast, it was only about ten minutes between when we ordered and the food arriving. Everything is self serve, including the salsa bar and condiments for menudo. I won't recommend it for large parties, seating might be tricky. For a party of four, we found an open spot pretty quickly. We first tried the Torta Cubano. It is not a true Cubano but a great spin on the concept. Meat was seasoned just right and slightly fried at the edges which added to the great taste. The bread was lightly toasted and the flavor was awesome. Next was the Gordita. It was decent, but the carnitas meat had a little too much juice which quickly made the whole thing soggy. The last bite was too messy to pick it up. I wouldn't order it again. Finally, the Menudo was really the reason we were there. I am always in the hunt to find good Menudo. This one, missed the mark, a lot. First thing I noticed about the Menudo was the smell. It didn't smell like they cleaned the meat, at all. They used a lot of chicken boullion, so much so that it thickened up the juice...way too much. This boullion overpowered the entire soup, I could not taste nothing but the chicken. Hopefully this was just a bad day with the spices. I'd be willing to try it again. Overall, nice quick place to grab some decent food.

Yelp
I had not been to this location in years. I'm from Oxnard.. so I just hit that one up. Love the remodel. They added outdoor seating / dining . Cool! I also love the salsa bar. My fave salsa is the chipotle. Clean spot! Service is quick and friendly. I got my asada tacos to go and I was in / out with a quickness! Asada Tacos are currently $ 2.85 as of 8.23.24 . Highly rec!

Yelp
First time here. Ordered for take out. My bf highly recommended by me and we have the same taste. I got confused with the entrance because it's a black metal screen door. Once you get in you're greeted. Very nice lady and helpful. The burritos and Birria tacos I ordered are really good. All the salsas full of flavor and fresh sides. It's a small place but very welcoming. The ambiance feels home like. It wasn't packed when I went but I heard it gets packed. I'm definitely coming back for more. I had a great experience here

Yelp
I was delighted to find this small restaurant on the "Avenue" while on my way to Ojai. The staff was friendly and efficient. The menu (mostly in Spanish) was large, especially considering the size of the restaurant. I chose the flautas plate and it was terrific. Three large flautas (I chose chicken over cheese), a scoop of refried beans served in a small fried tortilla "cup", and Mexican rice. You order at the counter and then take a table. There are about eight tables for 4 and two tables for 2. The restaurant has a parking lot on the side which is nice, as street parking is harder to find. I look forward to returning to try some of the other items on the menu. I would recommend this family-owned business without hesitation.

Yelp
The food is fresh, delicious, staff is friendly Always immaculately clean , reasonable prices, eat in or to go both are great !!

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing service, fantastic salsa and super chill ambiance. Great stop while in town for vacation!

Yelp
Hands down the best sopes I have ever had. I come back to Ventura just for this, and they never fail to impress me. I come from a Mexican family who has made these and back to my dad's hometown but nothing hits like these. The man was nice and the place felt lively, plus there are restrooms. The cotija cheese with the orange/red salsa is my go-to. I look forward to coming back asap!

Yelp
Best horchata in Ventura 10/10 must try . Service is great. Prices was very good. The food is very bomb here

Evelyn H.

Yelp
Came for a late lunch. Ordered mushroom tacos, potato tacos, chili relleno burrito and mixed grilled vegetables plate. Food was plentiful and delicious.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and stopped in for a quick bite. Taco platter was simple, but fantastic. I ordered the Al Pastor, Lengua, and the Chicharron Tacos and my fiance swapped one of those for Tripa. My favorite was the Al pastor. The beans tasted great as well. Would come again.

R A.

Yelp
Went to their place at 1117 Ventura Ave today. Ordered chicken enchiladas with beans to go.. They were awful! Will never go back there again!

Yelp
Taquería Cuernavaca is known for offering authentic Mexican cuisine that delights the senses and celebrates the culinary richness of Mexico. With traditional dishes prepared using genuine recipes and flavors, this taquería captures the very essence of Mexican cuisine. Customers enjoy a culinary experience that transports them directly to the streets and flavors of Mexico. The tacos are delicious, the beans and any salsa in the salsa bar. I could eat here everyday and not get tired!

Danny A.

Yelp
Very good food. Carnitas Torta was good. Great selection of salsas. Chips were good. Great location.

Yelp
Cuernavaca is my go to for delicious Al Pastor tacos. Their orange salsa is incredible. I always joke I could drink it with a straw. Great service as well

Yelp
Place was full of gente so we knew the food would not disappoint. Comida riquísima y buen ambiente. Clean place & friendly staff.

Yelp
Blessed to live in an area that has great Mexican food. There are 4 thst I've been going to for longer than I like to admit. I don't want to remind myself how old I am. The food is amazing. I've never walked away disappointed. The staff....love them. Especially one women, I don't know her name, but she is always kind, courteous and friendly. She's like a Tia and I am always happy to see her.
google avatar

Yelp
So yummy. Best burritos in Ventura. Reminds me of home! Don't even go anywhere else 5 star
google avatar

Liza K.

Yelp
Hands down best street tacos in Ventura! I've tried most of their tacos and I can't stop coming back to the veggie #2. I'm not vegetarian but there is something about the way they grill their cheese and veggies, it's amazing! My husband gets the torta every time and craves it regularly. Don't miss their cute patio in the back, it's hard to notice but it's a great little oasis to enjoy your authentic tacos and real Coca Cola.
google avatar

Regeena E.

Yelp
OMG. AMAZING. I had my doubts considering the location - but this place gets it right. Friendly staff & patient (I couldn't decide what I wanted. Everything sounded so good!) Had a variety of tacos including those without meat - delicious! Torta, also delicious. Will be back. This place is authentic.
google avatar

Jeff B.

Yelp
Indoor seating, friendly service, ample salsa bar, extensive menu. Great El Pastor (got it in the Gringo) and Birria plate with good Mexican rice and beans. Also had delicious veg and El Pastor tacos. Don't miss their seasoned tortilla chips.
google avatar

Todd H.

Yelp
This spot is ALWAYS excellent, and always a top pick. Everything is made fresh and is so tasty with their assortment of salsas. Great staff, friendly service, and my favorite (this week!) is the Chile Verde burrito add jalapeño add guacamole. Superb!
google avatar

Jason N.

Yelp
Flavors are generally on point. Birria is inconsistent. When Birria is cooked well, it is delicious. Shrimp tacos are decent. Guacamole is waaaaay tooooo onion forward and hardly any cilantro, couldn't even taste lime. Has potential but can't be trusted for consistency
google avatar

Jeff L.

Yelp
Great casual atmosphere and my cheese enchiladas with slightly hot red sauce was very good. Much appreciation to the staff in explaining the menu for our first visit.

Sarah F.

Yelp
Very good tacos, my favorite place on the Avenue. I really like the mushroom ones and the horchata
google avatar

Andrea C.

Yelp
Great neighborhood taco spot. We got a carnitas burrito and a veggie burrito. Both were great but the carnitas were really super. The salsas were good too. Next time I want to try the mushroom tacos.
google avatar

Michele S.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place .. family who owns it is friendly and gracious..Good is stellar .. chips salsa .. potatoe tacos are stellar !
google avatar

Danny B.

Yelp
Since moving to Ventura, we've been here about half a dozen times. Their tacos and burritos are fantastic. Each time the staff is always pleasant and is great with recommendations. The salsa is alone. Makes stopping here for chips worth it. Being able to sit outside and just enjoy downtown as always a plus as well.
google avatar

Mari I.

Yelp
This is a great place to come eat with the family. I was here the other day and they serve great portions and have plenty of seating options inside and outside. The service is great and they were happy to answer any questions. They had some specials when we came in and the elote tamales were some of the best I had tried. I had the green chiliaquiles and they were so good too. You can also ask for extra sour cream. They offer lots of side and salsa options for you to grab. I would def come back!
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
Always 5/5 super fire. Food is always super delicious. The staff inside this location are very friendly and work very hard. I love the torta because they do a cheese crust- can't go wrong with that. The salsas are super good here. I'm always a sucker for green. The prices are super reasonable here- so I really appreciate that.
google avatar

Anita C.

Yelp
Had this food twice now! Tacos are amazing with homemade corn tortillas. The carne asada is very tender and yummy. I love how many choices there are!! The rice is so flavorful! The salsas are also spicy and good!
google avatar

Teresa F.

Yelp
Food is always great and the customer service is perfect. Absolutely our favorite place for Mexican food!!

Shayne C.

Yelp
Food: food was great, I got the pollo de tinga burrito with the mild salsa and really enjoyed it! Service: ordered online 15 minutes in advance and it was ready to go when I arrived, paid in advance, no problems. Ambiance: nice little spot on Main Street, I liked it! Overall: It was a fair value for the price, expect to spend ~$30 for 2.

Mario A.

Yelp
Is like they care not for the customer as long as they get what they want and honestly this for the type of money they charge really

Chelly F.

Yelp
google avatar

L M.

Yelp
The Al Pastor tacos here as the best! The beans are the best I have had at a restaurant in a long time. They have 3 salsas and they are all tasty so I can't pick a favorite. Small seating area inside and outside. They have Apple Pay and clean restrooms.

Yelp
Not to shabby , stopped in yesterday afternoon after wanting to try some place different other then my usual spot. I'm glad I found this little hole in the wall , the place is right off the avenue kinda easy to miss if you're not looking for it though. As I walked in and could smell the delicious aroma of Mexican food , honestly I smelled it as soon as I got out my truck. After giving the menu a quick glance I decided to go for the burrito . I got a carne asada and chorizo burrito. It comes with the usual ingredients meat of choice , rice , beans , cheese and salsa . I had them add pico de Gallo in it at it truly set it off, everything had good flavor to it especially the rice. The burrito was a good size and the guacamole green salsa that accompanied it had a nice kick to it really flavorful . My only complaint was that they were a bit skimpy on the meats but maybe because I got two kinds who knows. Either way when I'm in Ventura again I'll definitely go back and try something different I like chopping away at restaurants menu items slowly but surely.

Sabrena R.

Yelp
Hands down our favorite Mexican food restaurant in town. The ingredients are fresh, high quality and the salsa is amazing! We love their chile rellenos and their sopes, but I had more than my fair share of their pozole and tacos. The location on Main Street is ok, but they don't make their own chips, so I prefer to drive the extra 5 minutes to the original location on the Avenue.
google avatar

J W.

Yelp
Enjoyed this find. I was passing through. These are authentic tacos that I and my friend had. Tasty and everything seemed fresh. I eat my fair share of Mexican food but wouldn't say I'm an expert although I do know my different types of which I love almost everything. The meat in the al pastor which I had was moist and delicious. I said to my friend I should have gotten three. I would go back but sadly I'm not sure when the next time is that I'll be in the neighborhood. I went for lunch but this could easily satisfy me for dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
We pulled off the 101 for lunch in search of a grand burrito. Yelp helped us find this little spot only a mile or so inland. It was a quick pit stop on our way home. Each of us ordered different burritos. The beans, rice, carne asada and carnitas were all so delicious. I think though what we liked the best was how they grilled the tortilla on both sides after they were made. Perfect touch to a perfect burrito! We WILL be back!
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
The service at this particular location is quite unfortunate. We actually came to their place on the Avenue because their downtown location wasn't open. This is a mistake we will not make again. The burritos were good which almost made the bad service worth the drive, but not really. The taco plate was terrible. The carne asada tacos were soaked in oil and were mainly made out of fat. We will go to their downtown location for all future visits. The food and service are better at the downtown Ventura location.
google avatar

Junce L.

Yelp
Great tasting food and friendly service. I did a taco crawl here and their all their tacos are great. I came back for some chilaquiles and loved it as well. Weren't super generous with serving size compared to other places I have been. However. I am not disappointed with the quality. Will be coming back to track the other items on the menu

C. N.

Yelp
Delicious street tacos and beans and I cannot get enough of the spicy avocado salsa. We love having this local spot to stop and pick up dinner for our family. Truly spoiled to have great food close at hand.
google avatar

Miss J.

Yelp
My veggies alambre was amazing and well made. 100% recommend! The fish taco also delicious although a bit small. Will be back to try more things on the menu. Good vegetarian options!

Janine C.

Yelp
If you love authentic Mexican food then this is THE place. Still very affordable. The environment is welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend this place!
