The Best Tacos in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"An Atlanta taco map could not exist without chef Eddie Hernandez’s taqueria. There are now five Georgia outposts on Cheshire Bridge, in Decatur, Chamblee, the original location in Westside, and one in Athens. For Mexican-Southern fusion, try the Memphis (chopped smoked pork) or fried chicken tacos." - Eater Staff

Chom Chom Vietnamese Opens in Chamblee, Jazzo Taco Opens on Cheshire Bridge, Grass VBQ Joint Open in East Atlanta Village, Atlanta - Eater Atlanta

"Mante, Mexico native, Jesus Alejandro Lopez Jazzo, just opened his “dream” restaurant on Cheshire Bridge Road near the Original Pancake House. The restaurant’s menu, inspired by his family’s recipes, serves a variety of crispy corn tacos like al pastor, Baja fish, and chorizo, tamale bowls, quesadillas, and what Jazzo claims is the “best cheese dip in the city.” Eater reached out to confirm whether Jazzo Taco offers seating or is takeout and delivery only." - Beth McKibben

TAQERIA is the place to be in atlanta. It is definitely one of my favorites. They have a decently small menu with tacos and enchiladas, however everything they cook is down to a tea, and for an amazing price. The tacos are very simple. The enchiladas for me are my favorite! They have so many different meat and sauce options! If you are looking at appetizers, you cant go wrong. My favorite is the cheese dip by far, however the salsa trio is amazing as well. The restraunt is pay at the counter and seat yourself. The food comes super quick! I doubt I’ve ever waited more than 5-7 minutes at this location! Just note that lines form quick and extend out the building, so come early!

Google
Tortillas felt store bought.. ordered three different tacos and they all felt like slop piled in a tortilla. That’s it.. I could taste the frito crunch a little on the signature taco.. the regular salsa was good. Chips about normal. Not much to the atmosphere..

Google
Thought this was a Hispanic restaurant. Just yt folks cosplaying. Asked for a burrito. Clerk say they only sale tacos. I’m expecting a chicken hard shell taco at this point. They gave me a chicken tender in a BURRITO!

We have enjoyed the Taqueria del Sol restaurants for decades. Excellent food value. Friendly folks. Tasty, customizable Margarita options. Go! You will not regret.

Google
A place to try especially their brisket. It's the bomb. I haven't tried everything but what I have tried so far has been good and the brisket is sure #1 on the list. Their margarita is very popular but has a good reason. Service is good and people are friendly. I've been back a few times and sure will go back.

Google
Great food and quick service. TDS is a fast casual restaurant. Usually, there's a line but it moves quickly. If there's just one or two of you, you can bypass the line and look for a spot at the bar. The service is great, but there are rules. If you want to bypass the line, try to eat your to-go food in the restaurant, or get seated before your whole party is there, this isn't going to work for you. They have some rules like this, they're famous for them, and it makes the place run like clockwork. They have a menu of winners that they built over the years. Additionally, each week they have a taco special, a chef special and a seafood special. You can find those at their site, if you're looking for something different this week. If they don't have a special that grabs me, I typically eat the Memphis or carnitas taco. Their specials rotate in a particularly fond of the Canasta taco and the crispy beef taco. In late July through August, they have chili rellenos. They are the best, at least everyone who I know says so. For many, this place is addictive. Several of my friends have more than a dozen charges from here on their credit card bill each month.

Google
Taqueria definition: a Mexican restaurant specializing in tacos. As a mexican, I felt out of place at this taqueria because it is NOT AUTHENTIC. This is basically a locally owned On the Border / La Frontera Grill. The food isn't the worst but far from flavorful. Even the cashier said, "Were a boring Taqueria" My husband hates these types of places because they profit/benefit from the name 'Taqueria' when the flavor/authenticity isn't there. It's cultural appropriation, but I'm sure it's okay since some of the workers were Hispanic, and 1 co-Founder is Mexican. But the main guy is Mike Klank, a white American. It saddens me that Mr. Hernandez has accepted to Americanize our Mexican culture for financial gain. It's altered to fit the demographic they're looking for. The same thing is happening in Mexico. I understand that, but its not right. Its white-washed. Health inspection was an 86 B. No onions or cilantro on the tacos. Tacos are made with flour tortillas, not corn. No salsa bar. Enchilada is $4 each, and it looked like vomit. The chicken it had was rotisserie chicken. Canned beer was $5 each. Guac was the only decent thing there. We took the food to go, adding a 5% fee. We went to El Rey del Taco right after for real Mexican food. Don't recommend and won't be back.

Google
The Blue Plate lunch special is hands down, best lunch special I have ever eaten.... EVER! No exaggeration. It was tender, extremely tasty, and a nice sized portion. In fact, so delicious I went back the next day to eat it again and now that I'm writing this I'm craving it🤤 We've also had the brisket, fried chicken, and fish tacos. Again, all so delicious, no condiments needed kind of delicious!

Yelp
Never have a seen two of the same restaurant so different in two locations. I often go to Athens for pork green chili , brisket enchiladas, blue plate , etc and today while in Atlanta I thought jackpot I will go here for a quick lunch. I am not going to complain about parking cause this place should not be punished for being busy and Athens is sometimes very tricky as well for parking . I am going to touch on food , flavor and service . I grabbed a seat at the bar and was greeted with someone who either didn't want to be there , didn't care for me as I'm not a regular or just shouldn't be in the service industry. He did keep my water full all while doing so using no words and making me it uncomfortable as well. Most of the staff seemed older which makes me think that they have been employed here for a long time the Athens location everyone appears to be happy to be there. Happy there's customers, and just a very different demeanor. I ordered a brisket enchilada with red chili, a side of rice and a cup of pork chili, which is the whole reason I come to this establishment. The enchilada arrived room temperature. The sauce had a very different flavor than the typical sauce. I'm used to in Athens, much more acidic and more enchilada sauce than a chili sauce lacking the meat and seasoning it appeared. Pork chili was also room temperature, but was full of pork did not really have a strong green chili flavor, but was suitable and acceptable. I also placed a order at the counter after finishing my meal as I did not want to spend any more time at the bar with the staff there, I ordered two green pork chilies and a side of rice for a friend. It did arrive very quickly however, the bag seemed to have a great amount of red sauce all over it, which I learned after walking out and setting it on my lap. All in all I would say Tria soul is usually very spot on this one. Just really really missed the mark and the highs that are set by the restaurant in Athens Georgia. If you're in the Athens area, I highly highly recommend it as you can see from my other reviews, however, even if in Atlanta, I will not be returning.

Yelp
I went as soon as it opened, they give you a cup for water which was kind. The food came out quickly. I tried to order the shrimp taco but he mentioned the availability is not consistent and they were serving them. Over the interior is fine. There's a patio, though I'm not quite sure about seating. I ordered the veggie taco and fish taco. Both sub par for what I am use too. The veggie taco seemed to be just refried beans and cheese. It was underwhelming.

Yelp
Love Taqueria Del Sol! The Cheshire Bridge location is the only one in metro Atlanta open for dinner on Mondays, so we were left with this one. Previously, I've been to the Chamblee and West Midtown locations. Cheshire Bridge location on the outside definitely definitely doesn't look as nice as the other two imo. There is free parking. The insides are fairly similar. On a Monday night, it was packed for dinner service. My partner and I ordered queso and tacos for each of us. The queso here is always so so good and I've enjoyed all the tacos I've had here and enchiladas! You can really do no wrong. Is this authentic Mexican? No. Am I okay with that for this place? Absolutely.

Yelp
Meh, very basic. Went before a movie with a group. The staff is nice, but the food is basic.

Yelp
This place just doesn't miss. Not sure why there are all these middling reviews, but it's a staple for me and my wife. Last night, I strayed from my norm and got the pecan-encrusted grilled tilapia with herb slaw and rice. It was banging! Maybe the best dish I've ever had there. The house margaritas are super tasty, and the tequila selection is vast. We try to eat here (or the Westside or Decatur locations) at least once or twice a month. I usually order the bean enchilada with salsa verde. So good. And don't sleep on the sides. The charros are always money, as are the turnip greens (though they're a little soupy sometimes). My wife loves the George as a side. Good salsas, too. We also take their margarita mix home with us when we have guests coming over. Add a little triple sec and a moderate amount of tequila and you're done! The staff is always nice, and they move folks in and out fast. Very efficient.

Yelp
Taqueria Del Sol is tucked inside a strip mall on Cheshire Bridge Rd and it's a casual, non-authentic Mexican restaurant. The line started out the door and after several minutes of wait, we were finally at the counter to order. In regards to the food, my group ordered a variety of tacos with chips and queso. The chips were cold and hard but the queso was tasty. For my entree, I had the brisket and bbq tacos. The brisket taco had liquid from the meat spewing everywhere, which made it soggy and the Fox Bros bbq taco was too dry.

Yelp
Taqueria Del Sol is consistently good. The cheese dip and guacamole ($4.99 each) are delicious and bigger than they look. I always get the Memphis Taco, sub brisket ($3.29) and the Fried Chicken Taco, add cheese ($3.19). Two tacos with the cheese dip and guacamole are enough for me. My husband gets three tacos though. You wait in line and order at the counter. Even if the line to order food is long, the food comes out very quickly. The bar is first come, first served and you get full service at the bar. Their margaritas are eh. I always end up regretting getting them. Overall, I recommend!

Yelp
Since my move back to Atlanta a month ago I have eaten at this restaurant at least once a week. These are the best tacos and chips/salsa I have tasted in Atlanta and Los Angeles. Very laid back atmosphere and steady business. Moderate prices and always fast service. Don't miss out on these delicious tacos!!
google avatar

Yelp
Food is amazing, and the restaurant isn't service oriented or supposed to be authentic mexican... so all the people leaving bad reviews are maybe better suited at a different restaurant haha

Yelp
All I got to say is... Cheese enchiladas with pork green chili... You'll thank me later!!

Yelp
It was just ok. When I saw the name "Taqueria" I was thinking more along the lines of the taqueria's that are prevalent in Mexico and Southern California. These tacos are not taqueria style. I had a fish taco. It came on a flour tortilla that tasted like it was bought at the grocery store. I am used to fish tacos served on homemade corn tortillas. The restaurant itself is nice/casual.

Yelp
While I love Taqueria Del Sol, you should know they don't have high chairs. It's a great family spot so I'm surprised that they don't have any. Unfortunately, we won't be going until they do or our kids are older.

Yelp
E X P E R I E N C E ordered via phone on a Tues afternoon at 1400 for take out. Food was ready in 15 mins. Employee was friendly and quick to have me pay and give me my food. Employee was wearing a mask and behind a plastic shield. There is outdoor seating to dine at restaurant. I'd say about 10 small 2-4 seater tables. Well spaced. Well ventilated. F O O D 4 chicken taco 3 corn chowder Always amazing. Always made well. Chicken fried nicely but doesn't make you feel crappy after eating it. the sauce is divine, light but flavorful. Corn chowder always aromatic, thick consistency and flavorful. Never a let down, when I come. P R I C E 25

Yelp
Wow, this place was awful. My first impression and what should have told me to go elsewhere was from the young man taking orders at the counter and I thought he must be related to the owner or something because no one would hire someone with such a bad attitude towards guests. It seems you have to order before you can get a table and that means AFTER you order. I was at the counter to order for 7 people and as they went over to sit at a high top , which i figured was ok , since i was ordering, he snapped at my wife and told her she needed to order first, to which I let him know that she was with my party of people. He said I didn't matter, we needed to be seated by a manager. Geeze, sorry man, how should I know that ? it says not to take a table until you order and I was in the process of ordering for 7 people. I should also say that it was not very busy. Someone then came over and said, " yes, you can sit there". The menu is pretty small and easy to read, simple ingredients several tacos/dishes list jalapeno mayo and jalapeno slaw , I went with 2 tacos that had neither, the Brisket taco and Carnitas. we orders a slew of other items as well. The premium Margarita was just ok and , to me VERY overpriced. On a side note they do something I absolutely HATE, they premix the various margaritas into pitchers so you really have no idea what you're getting or how long it sat. Now on to the food. Someone there thinks that if you make it REALLY spicy and throw a lot of pico on it, it will be flavorful. Well, it's not... it's just hot and overwhelmed by cilantro. The salsa, the Carnitas, the Brisket taco. all so spicy I couldn't even eat it and neither of the tacos list anything spicy in the ingredients . I get it, it's Mexican cuisine and jalapeno is used a lot but so hot your mouth is tingling when you didn't order a spicy dish? Come on! The vegan Bean taco was just mushy beans and almost no flavor. In all, out of the 7 of us, 2 dishes were identified as just ok and the rest were just plain bad. There are a lot of other Mexican restaurants in the area, I say try one of those instead of this place. Rude front counter staff and flavorless, spice bomb tacos sums it up nicely.

Peter M.

Yelp
Amazing food but staff is beyond rude. Never understand why rude people work in the service industry. He guys, try smiling and being nice to people paying and tipping.

Heidi W.

Yelp
The food was great and came out quickly! Everything tasted great and the atmosphere was very good and family-friendly. One thing I will say is if you get the beans and rice combo, they come in the same bowl so if you don't like them mixed, you may want to ask for them in separate bowls.

Yelp
Greatest tacos ever! I do love this place. My only complaint is the parking is difficult, but that's normal for ATL.

Jeff V.

Yelp
Food is actually good but, they treat their customers the worst. They are very rude, even when they are not busy, they give you the wort treatment.

Robert P.

Yelp
On yesterday (8/4/2023) me and two of my neighbors went into this restaurant because of its convenience in distance to the community that we reside(actually directly across the street). We are senior citizens that was denied by the manager the opportunity to sit at a comfortable space when there was ample space. We were sold drinks but not allowed to sit in a space that we could comfortably enjoy our purchases. I dint recommend this place.. Not senior friendly!

Yelp
Great good, fast service and plenty of seating. Shrimp corn chowder is amazing as well as their tacos. Will definitely be back.

Kate P.

Yelp
Food was great, but was honestly so shocked by how terrible the service was!! Our family was in town from out of state for the 4th. My aunt (who is very kind) did not know you couldn't sit down at a table before ordering. The owner/manager (I presume) kept looking back and forth between her and the sign that said you needed to order first in a very passive aggressive way. And then spoke to her like a child telling her she needed to order first. It was absolutely disgusting and uncalled for, and quite frankly shocking. We decided to let us slide, but the guy that brought us our food was so passive aggressive as well. Will not ever return to this location. Go to Little Rey instead! It's 100x better in food, service, and atmosphere!

H W.

Yelp
Would not recommend ! They charge for chips and salsa, they charge for a tip even though you have to stand in line to order and then they wouldn't let me sit at a table to wait while my husband stood in line :( !! Who needs that aggravation. ?! No thank you!!! T

Marie W.

Yelp
This will be the last time I eat at Taqueria Del Sol. As many others have said, the staff are incredibly rude. They do not smile. They aren't friendly at all. I'm convinced that they have something against people who look like they don't belong (low income, not Caucasian, etc). They seem sooo friendly to people who look wealthy. The discrimination is unreal and I'm just over it. The food use to be good. I LOVED coming here, but now even the food is going downhill. I ordered Two fried chicken tacos and one Memphis. All three tacos were incredibly soggy. Not sure how fried chicken gets soggy, but it did. Must have been the liquidy mayo mixture on the taco. Tbh, I feel like I was served this slop because I did not leave a tip on my TO GO order. Well, congrats Taqueria, you now have one less lower/middle class person to serve! Y'all just do not care, like at all, and it shows. The discrimination...it's mind blowing at times. Oh and be sure to get up from the table as soon as you are done eating. Otherwise if you sit there with your group, you will be asked to leave (not out right, but they will bother you until you do). See ya Taqueria, my money is better spent elsewhere. Bad service AND bad food? No thanks.
google avatar

Emily W.

Yelp
never in my life have I ever experienced so many rude staff at one place. Attitudes start to finish with this place. Would not come again if they had the best food in the world.
google avatar

Yelp
I wish their chips were thinner and takeout was better. (Fried tacos don't travel the best) I've tried the Cheese dip with jalapeño. Salsa trio. Fish taco on a corn tortilla. fried chicken taco on corn tortilla. (I prefer corn over flour) & Sweet tea. All of the above are good. The queso and salsa were tasty. The tacos are super basic, but super reasonable. I definitely say give it a try. Please on't expect an authentic fish taco because that ain't it but it's okay. Lol. Super nice and attentive staff!
google avatar

Yelp
A great taco spot in Atlanta! Especially since COVID, I recommend it more as a take-out place. They have some patio seating, but it can be quite crowded on the weekends and it's a bit chaotic. However, a GREAT option for take-out tacos, queso, and guacamole. Their chips are delicious too. They give you a huge bag of fresh chips with the queso or guacamole. Pro tip... put the leftover chips in the refrigerator and they will stay crispy and fresh for several days. I recommend the carnitas and the fish tacos. If you call ahead to place an order, they are pretty quick and you can walk up to the counter to get your food. there is plenty of parking. Note: This is located right by Cheshire Bridge that recently closed because a fire. Coming down Cheshire Bridge road, it will look like the road is closed. The closed signs are right after the turn-off for Taqueria del sol. You can no longer come from Piedmont directly so you'll have to take a detour. Still a great taco spot thought, so support the business despite the broken bridge!

Yelp
Robert at taqueria del sol is nothing but rude! while I was waiting for my party to get their food he had the audacity to kicked me out of the table because I was saving the table for my party keep in mind they were in line and I was not eating. so disappointed of his character and customer service.

Cathleen S.

Yelp
The food is delicious and I've eaten here a hundred times, but the original servers are the rudest people I've ever encountered and it continues to blow by mind...

Yelp
1.8 | whew, this place's only redemption was their queso. I'm not sure what's the hype around this place, but it was definitely somewhere that seemed popping due to the line always being so pronounced. I ordered a taco and enchilada. the taco was wet, which was an odd experience because I didn't expect the brisket to be boiled? it lacked flavor, but once I added the salsas, it was a little more tolerable. unfortunately, I took two bites of the enchilada with the mexican rice and didn't finish it. the enchilada tasted like it was based in some sort of Southern gravy, which my friend pointed out was probably quite accurate as they had a cookbook about Mexican and Southern cuisine. that concept feels quite on brand for not only that dish, but the population this restaurant attracts. I can easily say I hated the enchilada dish. the rice tasted as if it was softened, then got a bit crispy and dry sitting in a rice cooker. I'm not sure if this was an off day, but given this has also been the experience of a friend, I doubt it. thankfully, their prices are cheap, so it was only a $10 regret.

Yelp
Service is awesome , food is quick , it does get busy at night but still the food and service is fast and easy ! Great place good seating tons of sunlight as well !

Yelp
I visited the Cheshire Bridge location this evening and was shocked and saddened by the awful service, lack of respect, and verbal abuse I was shown by the manager on duty. I will never visit a Taqueria del Sol location again and I will encourage my friends and family to never visit again as well. To preface, I have lived in Atlanta over 5 years and previously loved Taqueria del Sol and frequented the Howell Mill location. Tonight was my first time placing a to-go order. After the phone lines weren't working, I drove to the restaurant. As usual, the line was wrapped around the building, so I approached the bar to place my small order for 2 people. I was made aware of their 4 item rule for to-go orders so I altered my intended order since I would not be able to get what I actually wanted. After ordering, I asked the manager if I could add queso and he pointed to the line and said I'd have to wait behind the 7+ groups of ~4 people in each group. He ended up adding the queso to the order, but was extremely condescending, rude, inconsiderate, and disrespectful in his following comments to me. After returning home, I found that my to-go enchiladas had been placed in the paper bag upside down without the lid properly secured. After all of the above, I now had a greasy mess in my car to clean up. (Pictures included) The actions of the manager were completely unacceptable. I will never spend another penny at this establishment, and I urge all of you to avoid it as well. Supporting Taqueria del Sol is supporting disrespectful and hateful people. I highly recommend trying one of Atlanta's many other taco shops like Bar Taco, Superica, El Felix, or Chido and Padre's. I found the image of the manager from other complaints on this thread and wanted to share to encourage management to take note.

Yelp
At first I didn't understand the hype of this place, but realized the food is always consistent, it's cheap and it's delicious - what could be better? Love the fish taco and the nutty shrimp when it's available.

Yelp
We frequent this place because we live in the neighborhood. I have avoided speaking up about experiences in the past, but tonight was the last straw. The manager there is an unbelievable POS. The customer service is atrocious, particularly his. The food is good, but not that good. I'll never return here unless I find out that the owner(s) came to their senses and fired him. I found his picture form another person who posted a review. Same guy. Same horrible experience.

Yelp
How have I never written a review for Taqueria del Sol? I've been to this location a couple of times in the past for dinner with a consistently busy environment. My coworker suggested it for lunch as an alternative to our usual Red Pepper Taqueria or On The Border Tex-Mex work lunches, so we squished into a car and drove down the street. The line wasn't too bad when we got there. Parking was a b**** but we found the last spot. Even so, there were plenty of people already leaving, so spots became available soon enough. We got in line inside the door (whoa, there's a first for everything) and took advantage of the wait to choose our taco orders. I was a bit disappointed in how slowly the line moved - other locations are a bit quicker. My coworker ordered the salsa trio - the three colorful salsas varied in flavor complexity, one spicy, one smokey, and one that just tasted green. I ordered three tacos - the special that day (shrimp po-boy), al pastor and the fish tacos on corn tortillas. The shrimp po-boy wasn't bad, it was just fried something in a taco. The al pastor was DELISH and the fish tacos weren't too bad. Taqueria Del Sol serves some solid tacos, but throughout the years, I've found that legitimate Mexican restaurants serve the most mind blowing tacos, even though they aren't as complex. This is definitely a more comfortable and culturally friendly environment, but the tacos are just aight. Tex-Mex just isn't comparable to authentic, so it's not fair that I compare the two anymore.

Yelp
This was our lunch choice on Tuesday. We stopped, in part, because of the crab cake sandwich being offered this week. My choice was three tacos - my usual order. I chose the Corona Fish special, the Memphis BBQ, and the brisket. I frequently choose the brisket. It was delicious, as usual. I rarely, if ever, have ordered the Memphis BBQ which my wife frequently chooses. It was better than I thought it would be. It will be on my rotation after this. The Corona Fish Taco was quite good, but not as tasty as the other two. The difference was the single buttered fish filet. The ingredients of the taco weren't able to blend like they did on the other two. This was another very enjoyable lunch, as we knew it would be. The other part of this stop is dessert in the same center, at International Bakery. Having both establishments in the same center is fortunate.

Chelsea E.

Yelp
Whew. I cannot believe the allure of this place. This is the third and last try I will give this restaurant. Not only is the flavor completely nonexistent, but the wait leaves little to be desired. I ordered a beef brisket taco. The beef was plain and leaky making my tortilla soaked and not in a good way. The flour tortilla was chewy and tasted old. We also ordered the chicken enchilada that came with southern gravy?? Lastly, we ordered a shrimp enchilada special that sounded good because it had arbol salsa. The dish came out with boiled shrimp (no seasoning), straight tomato sauce, and what looked like two slabs of American cheese. I have never experienced such a culinary disaster. To top it all off, we got our salsa trio and cheese dip AFTER we finished our meal!!!!!

Yelp
No recycling? You want me to just throw my empty glass bottles in your trash? How is that possible? It's 2020... time to start taking the environment seriously. I suspect I'm not alone in my disappointment at your short-sighted thinking. Otherwise, your food is good and service was good too. Your Covid-19 precautions were appropriate. Wish you would rethink your approach/stance on recycling...

Yelp
The workers are rude as hell to certain people! If you are a person of color I do not recommend you eating here. 0 stars

Yelp
I have been going here for years. I supported them through the pandemic. Tonight I decided I won't go back. I called to put in a pick up order. I understand they are busy. It took many calls to get through. They asked me to hold. No problem.I know all their rules so I was driving there while on hold. They hung up on me accidentally. I went inside to let them know and place my order. They wouldn't budge any rules. They said I must wait in line. I was not going to wait in the line. AND I have used them for numerous corporate catering events. They don't care about their long time, neighborhood customers. Little Rey is my new fav. I won't be back to taqueria They don't care.

Yelp
A great spot to grab tacos & other delicious Spanish dishes. They have an amazing guacamole & others chip dips. Love the relaxed setting of this spot & there are multiple locations throughout the ATL metropolitan area. I also tried the delicious special...Low Country Chicken‼ Don't forget to try the fried chicken tacos‼

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints! Hands down one of my absolute favorite restaurants and miss it whenever I'm gone. Definitely not authentic Mexican, as it is not meant to be. It's an American take on tacos and enchiladas so it makes it a pretty fun and quirky place. Some of the best margaritas I have ever had! Also not too expensive like it can be at many places. Their cheese dip and guacamole is the best I've ever had. The guacamole is so fresh and flavorful, definitely a must get for all the avocado lovers out there. My favorite tacos are the brisket, carnitas, and chicken, and their weekly special nutty shrimp taco (I think they just need to add it to the everyday menu). The enchiladas are amazing and absolutely love the red chili sauce. The early fall/late summer they get real New Mexican Chile rellenos from New Mexico and they are AMAZING. Overall I think it's very well priced and a yummy casual place to eat!!!

Yelp
My favorite things to get are: * soup corn chowder * fish taco * enchiladas with green sauce (build-your-own) * queso & chips * margaritas We come back here frequently, but usually time it during off-hours as the line can get pretty long. Luckily, service is very fast and the longest part is the line. Unfortunately, you can't call ahead to order.

Yelp
For a taqueria that is no where near the border, this place is solid! Coming from California where you can practically roll out of bed and fall into a taqueria, I'll admit I was skeptical. My work buddy said this place is known for their queso. Que what? That is something that is not common at any of the taqueria places I have been to. So I was curious. I ordered a fish taco along with the veggie. The folks I was with ordered the guacamole and queso for the table. The fish taco was delicious! It had a slight spice to it due to the jalapeños and had a lightly battered texture. The veggie taco was alright - I would pass on it next time. There was more salsa than beans. I couldn't figure out how their tomatillo salsa was red, since tomatillos are green. I make it at home regularly so that was odd. The guacamole on the other hand was very good. Creamy with bits of avocado throughout. That paired with two trays of thin chips and queso (cheese dip) was awesome! If this place were walking distance to my office, it would be my go-to lunch spot. After all, tacos would be my 2nd last meal on earth. Lamb being the first. It gets crowded here quickly, so keep your timing in mind. I'd recommend arriving around 11:30 or after 1:00pm. Oh! I nearly forgot, their sweetened sweet tea is very good. There is a non-sweetened version as well. So be sure to try it out. There are tables throughout, but remember, it's a taqueria so keep it casual.

Yelp
I forgot to check in. This is the place my friend from Atlanta recommended to us as we were passing by the city. We took a wrong turn and ended up at Fat Matt's BBQ, but we still wanted to try a taco. The place is located in a strip mall with an international bakery right next door. (amazing) We were already full from our unexpectedly, delicious BBQ stop so we ordered 3 tacos. Fried chicken, fish and pork. They were good--not the most amazing tacos, but different enough to be interesting. I would go back here if we lived in Atlanta. The atmosphere was very open and accepting.

Yelp
This was okay. Not real Mexican. I'm also vegan but had the bean taco and enchilada. The salsa verde is good and is what gave it flavor. Should of lowered my expectations when I noticed there were no visible Mexican working here and there were no POC customers (ie other Mexicans)

Yelp
Decent food but two staff members were incredibly rude. The confusing seating led to my party sitting at the bar after ordering at the counter. Little did we know, the bar was "full service." After asking if we could sit at the bar to which we were told we could, two employees behind the bar were visibly perturbed. One so much so he noticeably shook his head every time he walked by us. Whenever we spoke to him, he was purposefully short and rude. I do not think it is a representation of the entire staff nor the quality of the food but it made our experience very uncomfortable as if we were not welcomed, and thus we will not be going back.

Yelp
The food is amazing. I enjoy the seasonal stuffed pepper. Also, their refried beans and rice is good as well. I tried the fried chicken taco and the sauce that comes with the taco is amazing. The house margaritas are good. Be careful with the margarita, they will creep up on you. I enjoy everything I had. My only complain is the cashier worker isn't too friendly. Also, you must know what you want before getting on that line. Check the online menu. Don't be afraid of the line. It moves really fast.

Yelp
This review is not about the food because I enjoy coming here to eat since it is good food, quick service, and good drinks. This review is about the service of one manager. I understand that this restaurant gets really busy all the time. And you get your table after you order and they ask for how many in your party so they seat you accordingly. I went with a group of friends, total of 9. Told the cashier 9. Got seated at a table of 7. Then a manager, older gentleman started to get mad at me for not telling the cashier 9. "Why did you tell the cashier 7?" "I didn't. I told her 9." Then he goes on to talk under his breath about our group. Then goes on to say, "Why do you need a table for 9 when not everyone is eating?" Then I go onto tell him that we all are. He then proceeds to point at a friend in our group and says. "Well he isn't eating!!" Then continues to give us a look as he brings us chairs. And it's clear that he wants us to hurry and get up and leave since he keeps staring over. If you're going to be in the restaurant business, learn some customer service you ass hole. I don't know if I heard this right or not, but I am almost certain he said something under his breath about our race since it was a group of Asian-Americans. I'll continue to come here since I like the food but if he serves me, I'll just be an asshole to him like he was to me. I don't care if it seems petty.

Yelp
I officially patron Taqueria del Sol weekly for lunch, sometimes 2-3 a week for lunch depending on the weekly specials. I love Taqueria. It's speedy, fresh, and healthy, depending on your combo. I always get a special taco because its so fun to try something new - my faves are the sloppy jose, cheeseburger taco, and corona fish. I also love getting the brisket taco and adding cole slaw to it. YUM. I always feel like there should be a list of rules posted at TDS, such as: -- wait in the line - I promise it moves fast! -- no saving tables - there will be a table available when you complete your order, I promise! -- if you want just one salsa, you can order one instead of the whole trio IF you order a cheese dip or guac too -- there are no high chairs - plan accordingly -- if you are ordering 4 tacos or less to go, you can order at the bar -- call ahead with giant orders pretty pretty please -- take an orange from the bowl!

Yelp
Not only is service ridiculously rude but the food is so completely spicy it's inedible at times.
