Line was wild on a Saturday afternoon which is one of the reasons we were curious and decided to go. After about a 20 minute wait, you order at the counter, pay and grab a seat. They serve you at the table. Service was good, including water cups if you don't buy a drink. I have mixed feelings about the tacos. Ive spent a year in Mexico and for some reason, I was expecting more authentic tacos. They were tasty, but something was lacking. I tried the Memphis, Brisket, and fried chicken tacos. Brisket was the best, fried chicken was good but it was more like a wrap? Memphis was also good but with the BBQ sauce, I can't make myself categorize it as a taco. I had requested lime at the counter and they happily accommodated. If not for the lime, tacos would not be as tasty. The meats and cooking methods are of quality, but they could use more spice and salsa. Tacos were on the large side. 3 tacos with no appetizer were filling enough. Price points are reasonable. I don't know that I would go back. Seems like a good place for big families, kid friendly, and adults seemed to be enjoying frozen margaritas. It's worth trying once.

This was my 1st time there. My daughter frequents this establishment and insisted that I try it! Be sure to check the times before going. They are open for lunch and then close at 3 until 5 for dinner. There was a wait. My daughter says there's always a wait. It didn't seem like a long wait. It went quicker than I thought! And we were able to get drinks from the bar while we waited. I liked the process of going in to order and pay right then. Then you find a table and they bring the food to you shortly after. The margarita was so good! The food was pretty good. I've never had tacos like these. They were delightful. I look forward to going back to try some other items on the menu.

Staff was polite. Beans and rice portions are criminally small. Food not on menu wasn't suggested. Would have ordered a meal. Instead, i was nickeled and dimed, buying side dishes to build a meal. In addition, Ordered a crab ball meal on the menu, crab balls were undercooked and rice serving size was offensive. Maybe 2oz serving of rice. Rice snd beans are the cheapest items in any grocery store. Carnitas weren't Carnitas. I've actually been out west and carnitas were nowhere near this version. Wasn't impressed. Ate the food because I paid for. Surprisingly fish taco was ok. I wasted 40$, I won't go back if I'm paying. Sorry.

Party of 2 for lunch As I was driving to the restaurant, I thought I would have to find some available street parking.  When I approached, I was pleasantly surprised to see they had their own parking lot with ample spaces. This was my first time visiting this location. My friend and I stood on the line and it moved quickly.  The person at the register asked how many were in my party. This was to organize the seating, but they still kept the bills separate.  I placed my order for 2 tacos,  one Hot Chicken Taco, which was one of the specials, and one Fish Taco. I also ordered a side of  Jalapeno Cole Slaw.   My friend and I walked around trying to figure out where we wanted to sit.  They have seating everywhere, plenty to choose from. We were  initially going to sit in the patio area,  but then decided to sit at the high counter near the front door. This area was getting some good direct sunlight.   Our food came out super fast.  I tasted the Hot Chicken Taco first. It was very good and had a nice spicy kick to it.  The Fish Taco was very crispy and  good as well.  I will definitely go back to try some of their other choices.

Been here many times. Will not be back. As has always been the case anytime I have been here, or any place with bar seating (unless posted or unless a hostess tells you otherwise…both extremely rare) when a seat at the bar opens up, customers are free to take it. Today, after waiting in the squelching sun and as usual, watching it take forever for the cashier to take each order (clearly a tactic to slow down the flow, making the line take even longer), two seats opened up. We sat at them. As we have done countless times. Then in the snobbiest tone the lady behind the bar asked “are you on our list?” What list? Seriously, what list? I soon learned there was no list I could have been on. The list was made up of friends and regulars that the two ladies working that night were holding tables for. I said “no” with a question mark in my voice like “huh?” Clearly she knew I was aware of the rules here (that the bar is first come first served) and that there is no legitimate "list". So she let us stay and treated us like dirt the rest of the meal. If there was an actual wait list, she would have explained and asked us to move, and we would have. I saw so many people come up to sit around seats that opened-up near us, and they were turned away with “we have about 5 parties waiting ahead of you”. Yet virtually no one waiting. And again…since when is this the case at this place?! Since when do you have a wait list here? When someone did come up and take a seat (someone welcome by the ladies) they said nothing to them but brought them their exact drink without asking for an order or saying a word. I heard her tell the couple that was next to me (someone clearly on their "list"), with a laugh, that she had shewed away so many people for them and those exact seat (at the end of the bar so they could all three chat for long periods). Your tacos are good. Your line is ridiculous. Your slow order taking is a joke. But that bar is always a hope to lessen those issues. And it has ALWAYS been first come first served. Absolutely nothing about tonight told me otherwise before I left the line upon seeing the seats open up. No sign. Nothing on your website to get added to a list. But the complete snobbery that came with our meal (as well as a piece of steel wool that I did not make a fuss about but brought politely to the attention of one of the snobs so that it could be addressed in the back, for safety purposes) is something I am so over. There is a small population of Atlanta restaurants that employ snobs who forget that they work for tips, who act too cool, but who are not cool at all. I hope your boss reads this and puts an end to your little hustle of letting friends and regulars get seats while turning others away. Customer lost. One that ALWAYS (except for today, that is for sure) over-tips.

We have been going to del Sol for years. My in-laws absolutely love this spot. The menu is simple and straightforward. And the preparation is excellent. They are very consistent in their quality and flavor. It is not an authentic Mexican restaurant but they do their style well. The flavors are made more for an American palate. However, the quality of ingredients and cooking is consistently excellent. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and you better come early because there's always a line out the door. A wait around not having to wait in line is to go sit at the bar because you don't need to wait in line to sit at the bar. However, during covid we have not wanted to do that but plenty of people still do it. It is a very kid-friendly spot where they can run around a little bit especially in the outside seating area.

Google
Taqueria deal Sol is definitely a local favorite. It is always delicious. The place runs like a well oiled machine, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. There is nothing on this menu that I do not like. I also have the cookbook, and make the fresh salsa all the time for parties. People love it! Their fish tacos have to be the best fish tacos I have ever had. I always compare other places to them. I like to add slaw to my fish tacos. It is so good! The chili and cream sauce are amazing! And everyone loves the chowder. The skinny margarita is the best. It is not a diet margarita, but rather one made with all pure ingredients. So it is just tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup. Make sure to get your hatch chilis during the season. They are the best! I cannot say enough about how much we love this place!

Great place to eat. Great prices. Staff was awesome as usual in the food was perfect as always. So must place to go for a quick bite with friends or just want to try something different. Check out any location, always be satisfied

Yelp
I finally decided to give this place a try after passing by it countless times, and I'm so glad I did! Despite the long line when we arrived, the wait was surprisingly quick. You order first then sit down wherever you find a spot. The service was friendly and attentive, and we had the option to choose between indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for indoor seating. I decided to go with the chips and queso, and it did not disappoint. The chips were perfectly crispy and the queso was flavorful and creamy. It was the perfect snack for a late-night outing when I wasn't feeling too hungry. I'm definitely planning on returning to try out more of their menu options. If the chips and queso were any indication, I'm sure the rest of their dishes will be just as delicious.

Yelp
Finally figured out how to eat here, having been discouraged by the line every other time I've considered it... arrive at 11:45 am on a Friday! Plenty of parking, no line, and lots of places to sit. I had the corn/shrimp soup and the roasted chicken enchilada with red sauce. The soup had a nice kick to it but not much shrimp to be found. The enchilada was nicely done, nothing out of this world amazing. I don't eat a lot so these two things were the perfect portion for me. Disappointing that they don't have aguas frescas or even lemonade... they offered topo Chico with lime as an alternative but I ended up just doing ice water with some lemon. We were sitting around chatting after we had finished our food and they had cleared the plates and we definitely got the " anything else we can get you?" foot tap, but definitely understandable as the line grew and the staff member was very appreciative that we got the hint and got up to leave. I'd definitely return on a nice day to sit outside but only if I didn't have to wait in the line.

Yelp
The lunch rush is something that all of us want to make good. We tire of standard fried fare, buns and fries get old, despite not being healthy for you on the frequent. What is a hungry person to do when you need something fresh, dependable and tasty? Let me suggest Taqueria Del Sol. The ordering is straight forward, at the counter or bar. A few choices for your consideration. Each is freshly made and comes out piping (and I mean piping hot) and really fast. I ordered up the chicken enchilada with cream sauce and charro beans. It was just enough to ward off a serious hunger spell and yet not enough to make me feel like El Guapo in too small of a sweater. The line kept building all during our lunch meeting and folks were gladly ordering up their favorites and getting down to the serious business of eating well for lunch. I recommend TDS without hesitation, if there is one near you bet yourself in there and enjoy.

Lou E.

Yelp
I have eaten at this TDS and other TDS locations many times over the years. Mainly out of convenience and or joining others. There are only a couple times that I really want to dine at TDS and that is Crispy Beef Taco week. The Decatur TDS is possibly the best one. This week we had the Veggie Taco with tomato and lettuce added, the Fried Chicken Taco, the Beef Brisket Enchilada with Salsa Frita and a Cheese Enchilada with Salsa Verde. The Veggie Taco is always wonderful and probably the best one on the menu. The roasted tomatillo salsa is outstanding if you like spicy. The Chicken in the Fried Chicken taco is not the best quality. A little stringy and somewhat tough. And that has been the case over the past year or so. The Brisket Enchilada was pretty good, maybe better than normal because is was seasoned well, which is not the norm. Just wish they would have added a bit more salsa frita as do I wish they would have added a little more salsa verde to the cheese enchilada. The cheese was almost melted through but not quite enough...it couldn't have been heated any more than it was or it would have burned. The line was not long so there was not much of a wait. Food arrived promptly. The place is always very clean. And yes, it is kid friendly. There are better tacos in the area. But will return.

Meghan B.

Yelp
Cheap and good tacos. Always packed and busy. Would def eat here again! Food came out pretty quick

Tony G.

Yelp
If you can handle the initial line to place an order, once you get inside and seated you'll have the opportunity experience the best taco in the house, Taco for The Cause. This beef brisket based taco is the business!! The tequila selection is the best in the City of Decatur and the bar and patio areas has a quick turn around, so don't let the long line discourage your visit. We'll definitely be back Taqueria Del Sol, thank you for a great Saturday afternoon lunch selection.

Thomas R.

Yelp
I've been coming to this Taqueria since I was a kid and have always had a great experience. I've tried everything from their enchiladas, tacos, chips, and chowder and have never left feeling disappointed. This time I got their lunch chicken mango taco alongside the brisket and memphis tacos (seen in pic) and loved them.

Kelsea L.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place - I always see a line out the door when I'm eating at Farm Burger and I came in today with colleagues for a work lunch and was really underwhelmed. The salsa trio was small considering they are marketed to be shareable. The tortilla chips arrived warm and were fresh so those were yummy. The guacamole is at market price so pricey but the portion was decent and it was well made. the queso was delicious - seasoned well with added jalapeños for some heat. I ordered the charro beans - very thin and watery broth. Not super flavorful either. I also ordered three tacos - brisket, carnitas (pork), and the veggie bean. Brisket was tough and I couldn't finish it. Carnitas needed seasoning and there wasn't enough pico de Gallo in the taco to save it :( The veggie bean was delicious! Easily the best item ordered at the table. Others that ordered it agreed. Flavorful, slightly spicy, and good portion in the taco. Overall, not what I was hoping for considering the number of quality Mexican food options Atlanta has to offer.

Lisa H.

Yelp
The line typically extends to the street and on the day I went it was the first time the line wasn't super long. I wanted to see what the hype was all about. The service was good (I gave three stars for that). I placed an to-go order. I noticed, while attempting to pay, that the card reader didn't allow me to pay unless I selected a tip amount. I don't agree with forcing patrons to tip when they are placing to-go orders. I was extremely turned off by that. The food is reasonably priced. I ordered the fried fish tilapia and fried chicken soft shell tacos (about $4 each). They were small, lacked seasoning and tasted like something I could have made at home. However, I would have added seasoning. Therefore, it would have tasted better.

Shamar H.

Yelp
To hot to be standing in line to get food. I don't like this set up it should be somebody taking orders at table. Elderly standing outside hot about to pass out. To many flies soon as we diid get a seat.

Danny B.

Yelp
I've been here so many times with friends for dinner! I love how they change the specials regularly and the prices are still pretty good for the location. The margaritas taste great! Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I usually go for some combination of tacos or enchiladas. The tacos and enchiladas are great, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. For instance a couple of my buddies had the special which was about $13 and it was succulent pork with sweet potato! They really enjoyed it. A tip to the wise---while the service is pretty good, there's usually a line out the door around meal hours, so it's a super good idea to order a margarita or a pitcher if you've got more than one person in your group for while you wait in line. The atmosphere here has a great community vibe and for all of those reasons this spot gets a solid five stars! It is definitely worth a visit!

Bryan M.

Yelp
I've reviewed other Taqueria Del Sol locations, but thought I'd just note this one is extra special. The staff there tonight could not have been nicer. From the young lady at the counter taking orders to the young man delivering our food, correcting a problem he noted, and then bringing us extra chips. Top shelf food, top shelf people! And I don't think I'd seen, certainly not ever ordered, the green sauce now available on the the enchiladas. OMG....best one of the three, for sure, and the lemon crème and red sauce are outstanding already. That should be a salsa in the salsa trio! We will definitely be back to this location.

Amy Rebecca R.

Yelp
Not a good spot for people with disabilities. We ate there tonight for the first time. The food was delicious. However it would be difficult for us to return. Our son has a bone condition that leads to a mobility disability. We couldn't even park in the open accessible parking spot because of the way the line curved. We appreciate the benches but the gaps made it difficult for us to safely parent while in line especially as the benches were crowded. Plus getting up and down constantly is difficult for him. We tried once we were inside to sit in at a table with one parent so he didn't have to move again (there were multiple open tables) and were told we could not do that. We explained about the standing issue and were again told NO. We have no problem waiting but with the current set up, there is no accessible way for people like our son to wait. There needs to be an option where people with disabilities and or the elderly can hold a space in line and sit in their car or in a designated spot (so they don't have to move benches) and post the alternative somewhere visible.

Douglas F.

Yelp
Food was amazing with great flavor. I loved the shrimp corn soup. The best I had ever had.

Ann U.

Yelp
Rude, unhelpful staff, OK food. There are many local taco places that are better choices. Stay away from here.

Z K.

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite fish tacos! The jalapeño coke slaw is great addition to the tacos, and the cheese dip is the best as well. My wife always get the rice and beans, telling me they are the best she's ever had. If you are near a tds stop and eat.

A S.

Yelp
This is a staple for our family. Between the tacos, cheese dip, and enchiladas with the lemon cream sauce, we all leave happy and full. Always delicious!

Paco R.

Yelp
3:05 AM QUEASY stomach awoke me after having a late supper at Taqueria last night. This has happened before and why I stopped coming here. Silly me had forgotten. 3:32 AM, Never, ever again will I eat at Taqueria. I feel like calling the Health Department. SCREW THIS PLACE!!!!

Lynn B.

Yelp
I recently visited after 2 years. The food quality has declined. The Westside margarita which was once described as the strongest tasted like the weakest. Sigh.

Yelp
Really good food. Beats LA tacos. Ok ok I kid, but serious contenders. Nice, clean spot. Friendly service. Fair prices. Love it.

Alyson W.

Yelp
Taq is an all time favorite of mine and perfectly priced! We placed our order by call (it took a couple times to go through) and we picked it up and sat at one of their outside tables. The staff was cleaning off the tables after use as well, which was very nice. The food was delicious! The specials were on point. We got the chili relleno and I didn't know what to expect but it's giant and filled with cheese. I highly recommend this for a casual dine out experience where you can be socially distant and enjoy your food!

Pualani S.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere! Employees! Meeting new people and seeing old friends while waiting to order our food! Don't always love the specials, don't eat pork or beef but appreciate that it never feels like we've wasted our money or time!

Stephanie A.

Yelp
This restaurant has benefited from being one of the only taco places in Decatur (which is now changing) and has flourished despite its mediocre food, hostile service and lack of care for families or those with disabilities. How people flock to support this business is beyond me.

Keisha L.

Yelp
Decatur staple for a reason. It has been over 10 years since I have been here and little has changed in the most positive way ever.

Lisa H.

Yelp
Finally made it to the popular Taqueria del Sol! Took me long enough despite living in Atlanta for some time. Speaking of time, it took 45 minutes to get our food, and that didn't include time waiting in line to place the order which was about 15 minutes. That's what we get for going on a Saturday night I suppose. Calling ahead looks like the way to do it. During our visit, the limited edition Taco for the Cause ($2.99) was being offered. This taco is a collaboration with Fox Bros benefitting Hogs for the Cause (a charity helping pediatric cancer patients' families) and incorporated their brisket, a white BBQ sauce, and Hatch chile pico. I was kicking myself for ordering only one because I was dejected when I encountered the last bite. Just wish there was a heads up about the cilantro on the menu though. Another special was the crispy relleno ($5.99) which was a breaded and fried New Mexico green chile stuffed with cheese. It was awesome and didn't even need the salsa that came with it.  Since everything is a la carte, I ordered a couple of tacos and an enchilada. The Memphis taco (pork, coleslaw, BBQ sauce, $2.79) and fish (corn masa and bread crumb-coated tilapia, tartar sauce, $2.89) were pretty good. The fried chicken ($2.69) one was okay but not too impressive. I really enjoyed the carnitas pork enchilada with lemon cream ($3.69). The lemon cream and cheese married wonderfully together (they resembled a giant pool of cheese at first glance), and the pork was delightful.  All of the employees we interacted with were nice and helpful. They were monitoring the line and informing patrons about the wait, as well as wiping down tables when they had a spare minute. There's covered outdoor seating as well as some tables on the sidewalk. Competition for seating can be fierce--turn on those eagle eyes. Taqueria del Sol has its own parking lot which is a perk in the downtown Decatur area. Street parking is also around but pay attention to whether you need to pay or not and check carefully about parking rules for the residential blocks. To conclude, I would not wait 45+15 minutes again, but I'd come again at a less crowded time. Though given my history, it might be a couple more years....

Jetta C.

Yelp
Very good food! Atmosphere is nice. They keep the patio very warm for the guests and immediately clean the tables as people leave. Definitely will go back...especially for the corn chowder!

Jason C.

Yelp
Nice place with really friendly staff and great food. I have three fish tacos and a cup of the shrimp corn chowder and man were they delicious!!! I haven't been here in years since I don't live down here in Georgia however I think it's gotten better over the years. I highly recommend this place.

Irwin F.

Yelp
What the heck happened to your margaritas. Tasted like watered down cool aid with no alcohol,

Philip H.

Yelp
The food here is typically pretty good, but their customer service is really terrible. I tried to place a call in order but no one would pick up the phone. I ended up going to the restaurant to place my order at the counter. I told them that I had been trying to place a call in order for more than 30 minutes but no one would pick up. Their response: "yea. We silence the phone for call ins because we want people to come to the restaurant now. When we get busy, we just don't answer." However, their phone tree still says "Press 2 to place a call in order." The time before that, they left part of my order out. I like their food, but won't return anytime soon just because of their terrible customer service. The other locations seem to be managed much better.

Jordan J.

Yelp
Great food, affordable but delicious. The Westside Margarita is unbeatable. Servers are friendly and easily recognize you after only a visit or two. Food gets to you fast and their specials are bomb.

Elliott A.

Yelp
Just walked out because a grey haired bartender, whom I'm assuming is the manager, felt it important to scoff at me for trying to order a margarita with Patron... Sorry didn't know that all you had was house for margaritas. Was it do important to shake your head and mumble as you snapped at me? You sell chicken strips with mayonnaise... I use to be a big fan but won't be spending a dime here anymore.

Johanne R.

Yelp
The look of this venue is very simple. From the outside, the space is unassuming. Upon entry, I noticed the interior was quite spacious. The color scheme is blue and white which gives a light and airy vibe. If the venue was moved to a beachfront, it would fit right in. There alway seems to be a line to dine-in. It moves well. Their phone orders tend to suffer when there is a long line. There is indoor seating and covered outdoor seating. The menu options are uncomplicated, simple. I enjoyed the Salsa Trio. In my opinion, the smokey rosted salsa did not have a smokey flavor. For some reason, I would have added a tiny bit of guava. This way the rmtrio has a mild sweet and salty combo. Hey, just sayin'. The salsa verde was a burst of flavor in my mouth. I loved the tomatoes in the regular salsa, very fresh. The guacamole and the cheese dip, one word, delicious! The fried chicken taco and carnita taco were good however, the flour tortilla was hard. The housemade Westside margarita had a good kick to it, not overly strong. The bathrooms were clean initially however as more patrons visited, the cleanliness declined. The staff was friendly and were quick in removing empty platters. Adrian is a gem. He made sure we were satisfied with our meal. There is free parking in the front and rear. There is a small lot in front and a medium sized in the rear. As always, I end my review with.. would I return? Yes. The cheese dip and guacamole stole the show for me.

Keven M.

Yelp
It was very busy on a Friday at 8PM. Line out the door and took 50 mins to order. I was told by locals this is normal and they send someone to get drinks at the bar to make the time pass. The food came out within minutes of ordering which was a wonderful surprise after the long wait. The Margaritas are delicious. The salsa trio is a nice complement of different salsas. I tried the Fish Tacos, Carnitas Taco, Memphis Taco, and fried chicken taco. The Memphis was my favorite. The fish was my least, it was a strong fishy taste for normally tasteless tilapia. The prices are very cheap. For a group of 3 with 10 tacos, margarita pitcher, and salsa was $60.

Yelp
RACIST! DO NOT SUPPORT! So this happened to me at Taqueria Del Sol Decatur (359 W Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030) Saturday, August 10, 2019...yes 2019! Employee rudely and aggressively asks me (a black woman) to move from a 6-chair SHARED BAR TABLE to allow THREE women (white women) to sit. Me, "No." Typically when being asked a yes or no question my answer will be yes or no. I had been sitting, chilling for about 10-15 minutes waiting for my TWO TACOS AND CHEESE DIP I was pretty sure would be ready soon so there was no need to be out of eyesight of the bartender who waited on me. As I am taking inventory of the situation I noticed the THREE women had plenty room to enjoy the remains of the food they began to eat in another area of the restaurant but moved to the SHARED BAR TABLE. Very confused why I'm being asked to move so I decline and explain I'm only waiting for my TWO TACOS AND CHEESE DIP to go. Didn't see a big deal with sharing the table as I wait for my TWO TACOS AND CHEESE DIP and as the THREE women ate at the SHARED BAR TABLE. "Oh you're not going to move?" the guy abrasively asks. Me, "No." Employee briskly walks with intentions to make me move and asks the bartender, who took my order, for my name, proceeds to the kitchen to cancel my order, and because I refused to move my order was canceled, money refunded, and I was asked to leave the restaurant. I was called a bitch and told to shut up by these "model citizens" who drunkenly sat, enjoyed their food and margaritas, but I was asked to leave. Neither the bartender who took my order and watched me have a seat at the SHARED BAR TABLE nor any other employee made an effort to direct me to sit elsewhere for to-go orders. Taqueria del Sol...what's wrong with this picture? Why was I asked to move? Why was my food canceled and I was asked to leave? Why couldn't we all sit at a SHARED BAR TABLE? What era are we living in? I recall separate seating being abolished decades ago. Is this how you train your employees to treat black customers? Is this how you treat non-aggressive customers versus aggressive, rude, and inebriated customers? So angry and disappointed! I truly wish I could have asked these questions but I was so blown by the way I was treated...I was at a lost for words and left the restaurant Traumatized! Saddened! Embarrassed! Bewildered! Feeling less than! Needed to escape! This experience left a stain and I need answers! "The things that make us different, those are our superpowers." Lena Waithe So I am using my power to spread the horrible reality of this restaurant and suggest other similar style restaurants. Yelp
This place is like a local legend. Almost always a line. I love tacos. So it seemed like me and taqueria del sol would be a match made in heaven...except I wasn't crazy impressed. First things. Yes, frequently a line. BUT...the line moves fast; this place is crazy organized. Menu is nice and simple; I like that they have weekly specials to liven things up. When I was there the staff were friendly and efficient. Yes. I may or may not be low key obsessed with their salsa trio; although next time I would ask for a double serving of the salsa verde and skip the smokier roasted salsa. The fresh red is delightful and bright as well. Salsa obsession is where it ends. I wasn't that moved by my tacos. Pretty standard flour tortillas, bland meat. I had the brisket and the carnitas tacos and wasn't really impressed by either one. They were both immensely improved by a spoonful of salsa, which I could totally drink with a straw. So yummy. I had a side of charros beans too. Super small, very brothy and chock full of meat. If you're looking for beans; those charros aren't the answer. Carnivores might really go for it....it was literally like a bowl of broth with a ton of meat pieces and maybe ten beans. My friend had a chicken enchilada with the aforementioned delectable green salsa. It was rapidly inhaled and it looked heavenly. I'm trying enchiladas next time I'm there because the tacos didn't make the cut. If the enchilada is a good as it looked; I'm going to be a super fan. If not...well I'll be back for salsa!

Yelp
So damn good. They not only kept it going during covid, they preserved the sanity of our neighborhood. I've got Eddie's cookbook, it's great. But try as I do, it's never as good. Nothing beats a stroll over to TdS for a marg, some chips and salsa, corn chowder and whatever special is going that week.

Yelp
Taqueria Del Sol is an Americanized Mexican restaurant that offers quick, delicious food, at the expense of waiting in line longer than you wait for your food to arrive. With that being said, it's absolutely worth it. The fried chicken tacos, Queso, and guacamole are very tasty and always a good choice.

Yelp
On any given day the line to get in extends to the street. The margaritas are the best in Decatur and that's what makes the wait in line so enjoyable. Most are locals and after all Decatur has won the best little town in the US award many times. The food is fantastic my favorite is actually the soup either the shrimp corn chowder or beef red chili but you can't go wrong with any of their tacos or enchiladas. Every night there had also a special item added to the menu. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
When my friend Laird told me that Taq del Sol had the best tacos in Atlanta, I told him he was insane. I physically restrained him and brought him into the nearest psychiatric ward. Life is full of empty promises and compromises. I'm 35 working an entry level job, no women, and drive some piece of shit car. Everywhere we look- compromises NOT TAQUERIA DEL SOL. This place fucking slaps. I'm getting hammered tonight and riding this momentum til the sun comes up. Oh yea and I bailed out my boy from the ward. 5 stars

Yelp
After hearing about this place for years, I finally got to check it it out and it was well worth the hype. This location was situated within a small shopping center that has both indoor and outdoor seating, and a good amount of parking. I came at about 7:30pm on a Friday and there was a pretty long line out the door. We waited about 25 minutes until we were able to order at the counter. They have a drink menu that is pretty affordable and has $6 margaritas as well as beers, wine, and a long list of different tequilas. Their food menu is limited and featured several types of tacos, several dips, enchiladas, and a few other things. Everything is very affordable as about $3 per taco. We ended up ordering the salsa trio and the queso, both of which were delicious. I also got the Memphis, carnitas, and brisket tacos and all were pretty large in size and awesome. The fold also came out within about 5-10 minutes of us ordering which made the long line wait worth it! Overall the food here was delicious, especially for the price that it was. It's a great casual spot to come grab some drinks and mexican food on any night. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
Fast casual tacos place. There's a line when you come in, but nothing crazy long. The service is very fast, which is commendable. The person at the register literally took seconds to make the transaction, and the food all came shortly after, (you give a name of your party to the register and they came searching for you once you found a seat). But I wouldn't say these are jaw-dropping tacos. I got the fish and veggie tacos, and shared cheese nachos with my party. Although great in price, my fish taco tasted dry- not enough sauce in it. My veggie tacos was more slush, even though I get it's just a lot of beans. But it didn't have an amazing flavor. It's super casual ambiance, like I could have been sitting in a cafeteria lowkey, so I wasn't super inclined to stay for long. I would likely come again because of the price and convenience but I definitely prefer a place like BarTaco if I'm going to ingest calories for tacos.

Yelp
I had the fried chicken tacos, they were okay , I wouldn't say they were anything to really rave over but they were decent. I also had the salsa trio and guacamole, the guacamole was really good. If I went back I definitely wouldn't get the fried chicken tacos again, that alone should tell you how good they were .

Yelp
We have been coming to Taqueria Del Sol for years; however, we NEVER leave having that feeling of a good dining experience. Is the food good? Sure it's great for a quick, easy, tasty meal. Is the customer service good? Absolutely NOT! I feel like taqueria del sole prides themselves on their Terrible customer service. Also why in the world would they not provide high chairs. This is definitely a family friendly kind of place. Not fancy the least bit! Some of the nicest restaurants still have high chairs. Again, they don't say it, but they really don't want children there. Obvi with the no high chair policy.

Yelp
I love mexican, but this place just doesn't really do it for me. Let me first start by saying the Margaritas are amazing!!! I just don't love that I have to get back up from my seat and go up to the bar to get another drink, call me lazy I guess? It's a fast-casual set up. Order at the front counter and then you can go find your seat. You are not supposed to grab a table before placing your order. So far I haven't had an issue getting a table, but I could imagine at busy times feeling a stressed out about not having a table. The salsas are HOT and a different kind of flavor. The rice/beans were meh and breakfast tacos could have had more flavor. We went for the mash up between them and Fox Bros bc it was also a fundraiser, but I definitely wouldn't venture 30 minutes from my place again to come here. Just not my cup of queso I guess.

Yelp
Tacos are made from flour tortilla and not cooked all the way. The meat portions leave a lot to be desired. I will give them credit for adapting well to the situation. I haven't tried their other food but definitely won't recommend their tacos to my friends and family.

Yelp
Ok fusion tacos, very busy but fast service. I've been meaning to try this place for awhile as a friend of mine said it was an Atlanta staple. The place serves southern fusion tacos, enchiladas, and the occasional specials. You order your meal at the register and then sit down anywhere you want. And then magically, the waiter finds you with the correct order (how do they do it??). I got 3 tacos, the brisket, fried chicken, and pulled pork. My favorite out of the 3 was the pulled pork, being that it had a lot of bbq sauce and a nice slaw as well. The fried chicken was second best, pretty simple with some lettuce, tomato, and mayo based sauce. The brisket was ok, I thought it was kinda dry and needed some sauce like the pulled pork to liven it up. Overall, the tacos are good and the margarita options look tempting, however it didn't feel much different from the twisted taco I eat at school dining. I also do not think I would consider it a Tex mex place as it is advertised on here.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints! Hands down one of my absolute favorite restaurants and miss it whenever I'm gone. Definitely not authentic Mexican, as it is not meant to be. It's an American take on tacos and enchiladas so it makes it a pretty fun and quirky place. Some of the best margaritas I have ever had! Also not too expensive like it can be at many places. Their cheese dip and guacamole is the best I've ever had. The guacamole is so fresh and flavorful, definitely a must get for all the avocado lovers out there. My favorite tacos are the brisket, carnitas, and chicken, and their weekly special nutty shrimp taco (I think they just need to add it to the everyday menu). The enchiladas are amazing and absolutely love the red chili sauce. The early fall/late summer they get real New Mexican Chile rellenos from New Mexico and they are AMAZING. The line can be super long out the door, so be prepared to wait in a long line or either go right when it opens or right before it closes. Overall I think it's very well priced and a yummy casual place to eat!!!
