These guys have excellent flavor. I had a steak quesadilla and was surprised by the use of quality melting cheese! Plus two chicken tacos and yeah they were phenomenal.

The food was amazing, they had great service we tried to communicate through Alexa translating. My kids 7 and 9 picky eaters the both of them they loved it. I got the veggie quesadilla. son got the the bean and cheese burrito and my daughter got the Carne asada. they were very fast at preparing the food and we all had a blast. Thanks guys

This was the worst Mexican food, or really any food I’ve had in any restaurant in any city, and I’ve been to many taco places around Nolensville, etc, and restaurants in general in the US and other countries. Wow. We got a side order of beans, and they were kind of gross and had no flavor at all, so we added salt, but they were still somehow gross. My daughter had asada tacos (steak), and they were actually decent. I had the barbacoa sopes, and those were what really made this place earn my worst restaurant ever rating. The meat was fatty, and I don’t mean your typical occasional chunks of fat that you might find one or two of in a taco. I mean that 75% of the meat on that thing were bite size chunks of fat. The remaining meat had a kind of soggy, disgusting, consistency. I tried removing the fat chunks and eating the remaining meat, but after several bites I was like, “why am I even eating this? It’s not worth it, even though I’m hungry!” The pickled carrots were also not good, and they hadn’t even been peeled.

A great quick eats option! Super fast service. You order from the window and can take food to go or eat outside at their picnic tables. No indoor seating. We ordered tacos and a torta with various meats--all delicious and fairly priced. Will be back!

Taqueria don carbon express is definitely a place worth trying and enjoying. The place is like a food truck without wheels. They have a drive thru window where you can order as well as a few benches outside where you can sit and enjoy your meal. The food also comes out fairly quickly. My favorite part about this place is the price. The prices were extremely reasonable; $1.5 for a taco! The flavor felt very close to authentic Mexican tacos. They also provide two types of salsa you can add to your dish. Overall, I think this place a great option for quick Mexican street food. Encourage people to try it!

Despite being situated in an unassuming yellow building Don Carbon delivers food that is outstanding and should draw visits from all over Nashville. Whether it be the extremely cheap ($1.5/per) prices for their delicious tacos or the wonderful service experience (received a complimentary drink simply because he wanted us to try it), Don Carbon is a must visit and can be easily accessed off the 3 line.

If you're looking for Tex-mex or gringo style tacos with lettuce, tomatoes, and guac, - do not come here. If you're wanting some real authentic tacos, look no further!! I ordered 4 tacos. 2) carne Asada and 2) Al pastor. - meat ratio to tortilla is great. They don't skimp on the meat - toppings are cilantro and onions - comes with some pickled carrots, radish - they give you 2 salsas. Red and green. The green is spicier if you want some heat -$2.00 per taco - went thru drive thru- was able to order thru there. Food came out quick. - the corn tortilla even hits different. They're light and fluffy Accepts cards. My new favorite spot.

I order through Grubhub, my food was delicious. Best tacos, the birrias were so yummy, and the taco salad was the best I've had in a long time. I got several things to try them out. The servings were more than I expected so I have leftovers for at least 2 more meals. I highly recommend you give them a try.

Hiding in plain sight on White Bridge Road just south of Charlotte Pike, you might drive right past this nondescript yellow building! Occupying what used to be a Fat Mo's, this simple Mexican spot offers drive-thru service only, authentic street tacos, tortas, sopes, burritos, and other dishes to go, and even large free cups of water. The prices are fabulously reasonable at this family-run stand, and you can easily have a feast for two people for $15. I grew up in L.A. with high standards for street tacos and Mexican cuisine in general. And one dish here really caught my attention! But first, the #1 comes with five tacos, your choice of meat, grilled onions and a grilled pepper, shredded lettuce, and slices of radish and carrot. You'll also get red sauce (spicy) and green sauce (darn spicy!) to add to your tacos, and a lime wedge to add a little flavor. I tried the chicken and spicy pork tacos. and I wouldn't say the meat is necessarily of the utmost quality. But everything else is very fresh and the tacos are good. I was almost ready to give this place a 3 when I ate my second dish, the #9. Oh my! This meal features pork carnitas with refried beans and rice. Now those sides aren't all that impressive. But imagine the best barbecue in Nashville. Think about the texture of the perfect pulled pork that's been cooking all day until it's juicy and tender with that crispy skin along the outer edge. That's what Taqueria Don Carbon is doing to pork, and it is ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS! It might even have a better texture than any barbecue in town! Take two tortillas that come with the #9, toss some of the pork carnitas and grilled onions in there, add some hot sauce, lettuce, and a spritz of lime, and you've just created one incredibly delicious taco of your own! This is without a doubt the best thing you can order here! Don't miss the little yellow building, get the pork carnitas, and support this family-operated business on the west side. Thank heavens for Yelp because I would have never found it!

Cheap, authentic, convenient drive through. What more could you ask for??? I'm on the hunt to find the perfect authentic Mexican tacos near me after having some really excellent ones while traveling. This was my first stop. Did not realize it was a drive through, but how freaking convenient. This place is very casual - grab and go situation with only a few picnic tables outside for sitting. Ordered 3 pollo tacos for only $5 and paid in cash (should have checked to see whether they take card because this was one of the rare times I actually had cash with me.) Maybe it's because I came at 10 am right when they opened, but I loved that the tacos were made hot, fresh to order and came out fast. They came with 2 hot sauces that were tasty but sadly too hot for my weak taste buds. The chicken was perfectly flavored & salted. Only slight regret here was the lime they gave me to squeeze over my tacos didn't have any juice in it. They don't have a ton of sides here if you are hankering for a chips / queso / guac situation, but this was a really solid start to finding the perfect chicken tacos in the Nashville area. Will definitely come here again when I'm in the neighborhood and it's nice to have a solid taco place in Nashville that actually tries to be authentic (and isn't owned by a white dude.)

I mean this review doesn't need to be paragraphs long. It's quite simple really. These are some of the best most flavorful tacos I ever had. I also love that they warm up the corn tortillas on the plancha too! The Carnitas were fantastic please don't leave without ordering those first but the Asada and Pastor were fantastic as well. The complimentary hot sauces were super good too but definitely on the omg spicy side for me. Eat. Here. Now. Can't wait to come back to Nashville to explore other things on their menu!

I'm originally from Chicago and let me tell you this is the BEST taco spot I have ate at! We got 10 tacos two number 1s on there menu we each get 5 tacos for 16$!! The steak is phenomenal. There hot sauce is original! I will be back tonight !!

I really want to give this authentic drive thru spot 5 stars but unfortunately it's not quite there for me. I came in at 11:00am on Sunday and was very pleased to find out that they accepted credit cards since I didn't have any cash on me while I was out running errands. I was the first person there and was excited to sample the menu. I love pastor and had to sample the pastor burrito as well as an assortment of tacos. I ordered 2 pastor, 2 asada and 2 chorizo tacos with extra red and green salsa. The chorizo tacos were hands down the best item we ordered. It was a bit crisp with just the right amount of flavor without being too greasy. It was great. I also loved that they served the tacos with plenty of grilled onions and a Serrano pepper. The creamy jalapeño sauce was perfect and better than the red salsa. Unfortunately, the asada tacos were just ok and the pastor was really not good at all. Maybe it was not fresh and leftover from the previous service, but I was not a fan and didn't finish the tacos. The burrito overall was good, but unfortunately the pastor was my least favorite meat that I ordered and in the burrito so I didn't end up finishing it. I did like that they served it with rice, refried beans, and just a touch of sour cream. I love a good drive thru authentic taco place and will definitely try more of the menu, but overall I really only enjoyed one of the meats that I sampled.

Tacos al carbon The food hear is insane. The sauces? Delicious. The staff? Lovely and freaking SPEEDY. The tacos? DAMN good. Also everything is so yummy there. I am vegetarian and it's perfect because you can just sub meat for beans or extra veggies. And the flavors are still super yum and delicious. The tacos Al pastor is SO GOOOD. The rice and beans were flavorful and honestly just addicting it's so good. All my meat loving friends love this place too. They also have birria here too if you wanted to try it!

Best tacos in Nashville. Everything else is great, too. I don't know what to say, other than I keep coming back here, whenever I'm in town. You know the food is authentic when the line is long and picnic tables are crowded with Mexicans/Hispanics. The food does not disappoint. And, the price is right, too!

This is my go-to spot for tacos! I generally go for their tacos al carbon (asada) or just a mix of their street tacos with chorizo and asada. Most of what I have ordered has been bursting with flavor, and between the taste and the price, it is hard to beat! One star removed due to the inconsistency of their horchata, pineapple drink, and barbacoa tacos.

Got the carnitas tacos and I'm UPSET I waited so long to try Don Carbon! Seriously mouthwatering, and so fast. They were super nice, and I have no idea how this place doesn't cost more. Amazing! Go!

We've lived here since 2014 and moved here after living in south Texas where good Mexican and Tex-mex was around every corner. If you haven't stopped here yet you need to. What we ordered: barbacoa sopes, and three tacos, asada, carnitas, and barbacoa. The asada was tender AND had flavor...it wasn't just cooked bits of steak. The meat was perfectly seasoned, if not marinated. It rivaled any asada we've ever had. The carnitas should be provided to the public, and other restaurants as an example of what good carnitas taste like. Again, the pork was perfectly seasoned, tender, juicy, with delicious, crispy, fried edges. Outstanding. Last, the barbacoa. If barbacoa isn't a little bit juicy, it's not good barbacoa. And if your hands aren't a bit sticky after eating it, it's not barbacoa at all. This was juicy, flavorful barbacoa perfection. Satisfaction and sticky fingers were the end result. The staff was friendly and the chefs clearly know what they are doing. We're looking forward to trying more soon. This is definitely a must visit for visitors to Nashville and it's a must visit regularly for those who live in and around Nashville.

The hype is real for Don Carbon! I came here after a pottery class, yup pottery, and was craving tacos. Sadly, I haven't been able to find any decent Mexican food in Nashville until, Taqueria Don Carbon! Authentic flavors, done simple and done fast. This is a walk-up or drive-thru only place, with a few tables out front to sit at. I drove through and ordered four street tacos; two carne asada, one carnitas and El pastor. This entire meal was $5 and it was amazing, I was instantly back in SoCal! The carne was tender and flavorful and the veggies on top were crisp and insanely fresh. The carnitas basically melted in your mouth and al pastor was spiced just right! They make the taco with two tortillas instead of one, which kept everything together for a tasty meat filled bite. I could have used a little more heat, but I'll just order extra salsa next time, because I can see this becoming my go to stop after class.

Dear taco lovers: You. Have. To. Try. Taqueria Don Carbon. As a taco connoisseur myself, I can safely say these are some of the best tacos I've ever had. This place has the real deal Mexican food truck tacos where the price and quality of the food is unbeatable. I got 2 asada and 2 barbacoa tacos for only $5! And they were relatively good-sized and packed with the goodies. This ain't your typical late night fast food 1am craving-type of taco. This is a 24/7 all day craving taco. They also have a ton of other options, like tortas, quesadillas, sopes, burritos, and just about everything in between. This may be my new favorite taco spot. Totally worth fighting the White Bridge / Charlotte traffic

If you haven't had the chorizo quesadilla you can't even talk to me. This little food truck is one of the hidden gems in the area. Easily the best Mexican food I've had in Nashville. Quesadilla is the best and the tortas and tacos play their own little role in making you forget about all the troubles in life. Don't forget to ask for extra sauce.

This is the best authentic mexican food in Nashville. I am OBSESSED. The tacos are simple but packed with flavor. The red sauce they serve is addicting. I like to get the carne asada burrito with the pork taco. The burrito isn't like a chipotle burrito or something huge, I get a taco with a burrito if I'm really hungry. THE TACOS. These are authentic tacos and remind me of Mexico. I could eat them all day long. Try all of them. I really enjoy the carnitas taco! Everything here is cooked perfectly and flavorful. Oh and the PRICES. So cheap and great service. It's a must try!

Don Carbon Express is the real deal!! I got a burrito and some tacos and it was all delicious! My one complaint would be that it felt a little greasier than it needed to be but that's nitpicking. The building is very modest-basically just a shack with a drive through but I enjoy the hole in the wall feel. The people were very kind and it was very cheap for the amount of food I got, definitely give it a shot!

I am a huge taco fan, so when I saw this place I knew I had to go. It had great reviews and amazing prices and I was not disappointed. They were all so nice and the green salsa is spicy but addicting! This is a hole in the wall, but an easy 10/10!

I'd like to say 3.5 but I think my rating would be unfair because by the time we dug into our pick-up meal, it was not warm and soggy and that's our doing. We found out about this place through the neighborhood platform, Next Door, where people have been loving this place, so by that token; Don Carbon Express is worth trying and enjoying. I believe it has replaced a Fat Moe's. Here are the good stuff: One, It is a food truck without wheels because there is a drive thru window where you order and a few benches in the front of the place to sit and enjoy a piping hot meal. Two, the food comes out fairly quickly considering tacos that are not taco bell, sopes and tortas do take a moment to put together. For our order of 4 tacos, 1 sope, and 1 torta, it took about 5-7 min from the time we ordered. So for those on the go, Don Carbon is a great option. Three, price advantage, very reasonable and similarly priced to most food trucks. Our whole order was $15. Given the place is cleverly between a fast food joint and food truck, the flavor is decent. Were the tortillas or torta buns homemade? probably not, but the tacos do have double tortillas. The flavors of the meat are good- flavorful and juicy. Sauces are hot and tasty. With the torta, i felt the bun was bigger than the filling. But it was soft and soaked in the juices from the meat. I think it's a great option in the charlotte/white bridge area. Encourage people to try it.

Awesome drive thru taco spot with tasty tacos at cheap prices $1.50 each all day everyday. The rest of the menu is pretty cheap too. Most of the tacos come with the standard onions and cilantro and two salsas. The pastor taco had grilled onions and grilled peppers with it. Overall a great deal!

Great tacos and horchata! Hubby liked the carne asada burrito. Quick service, cheap eats. The White Bridge facing side has a window for walk up orders and a few picnic tables. The drive through window is on the opposite side. No indoor seating.

This place has absolutely the best carnitas I've ever had. My partner and I go here all the time for most delicious street tacos in the area. My favorites are carnitas, al pastor, and barbacoa. We also usually get their rice and beans which are super yummy as well. The beans are definitely fried in lard which hands down is "chef's kiss." There's always a line in the drive through which just tells you even more that this place has amazing food.

These are the best tacos that I have ever had. I have lived in LA and these tacos are the best that tacos will ever be. There is no getting better than the tacos that this establishment serves. I have tried EVERY TYPE OF TACO and even the pollo is amazing. Good stuff, get you some absolutely satisfying tacos. My favorites were the carnitas and the al pastor.

On the plus side: 1) Super friendly customer service and got my food pretty quickly even though it was a large order 2) This food is super authentic 3) The rice is really good and just how I like it. Very fluffy and flavorful. Could have been better: 1) The meat wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked 2) I wanted extra flour tortillas but they only had corn All that said, I would recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a fix authentic tacos!

The al pastor and barbacoa tacos are amazing! The barbacoa melts in your mouth it's so tender. If you're a traditional Mexican cuisine fan then you'll love their food.

Amazing! First visit I got the tacos and a burrito and was not disappointed. Burrito with asada and did a full spread with my fiancé for the tacos. Tacos are small so go for at least three. Seems like you can't go wrong here. Want to support these guys so this place stays afloat. Probably visit every Tuesday during the Corona apocalypse. Unreal prices. Six tacos and a burrito for $18....think they gave us an extra two tacos as well.

Amazing local, independent business. Had the carnitas tacos and they are authentic and wonderful, especially at 1.50 each. Order through the drive-thru is quick and great for COVID. Will continue to visit throughout the pandemic to support a small restaurant.
