Health Department closes restaurants with rat infestations, pigeons, acid reflux medication used in dough, and more - Eater Vegas

"The health department closed Taqueria El Buen Pastor at 525 E. Bonanza Road on December 12 after finding the restaurant had no hot water, an imminent health hazard. Inspectors found a pigeon sitting next to the grill and cooked beef left out at room temperature. KTNV says that “back-to-back inspection failures which means the facility must enter the health district’s administrative process.” Health inspectors returned on December 13 to find the staff preparing food, even though the restaurant was shut down. The restaurant earned a zero-demerit A grade on December 16 to reopen. The health department closed the restaurant in September 2019 as well." - Susan Stapleton

In A Nutshell: -The tacos here are really worth the hype. -I've waited for a while to over to this part of town & glad I made the effort. -They have a drive-thru setup which is interesting being that this is a food truck located in a run down gas station/automotive shop. -I enjoyed 4 tacos: cabesa, al pastor, pollo & chorizo. -Each one tasted so good & unique. -The diced onions, salsa, turnips & sliced lime were nice sides to add on the tacos. Overall, the service was very friendly & fast. I would come here again for sure for their delicious tacos!

I recently went here with a friend, and it was the most authentic tacos I’ve ever had in the United States. I travel to and from Mexico a lot and this these tacos have Atlantic Mexicans flavor style and meat. The restaurant isn’t super big but it’s very clean and established I just wish that they had somewhere to sit and be able to talk with friends and family as you enjoy your tacos. The employees are very friendly and extremely good chefs. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it to all my friends and family or anybody enjoy a real authentic Mexican street taco.

Heard about this place on Instagram, and I decided to give it a shot since it's hard to find a good taco place it's definitely off the strip but worth going for the Asada and Al Pastor tacos but everything else just didn't hit with me price wise wasn't bad

3 times with this, whenever is Wendy the manager or wherever is it, I can't order my torta cubana without salchicha and lettuce, and that is something only 3 people does all the time here, and after all and been waiting for almost 20 min long line, they laughed because I can't order my food the way I want, really? Been order the same all the time, and size this personal are been moving to this place they acting like they don't care the service. I don't ask for more meat or less price, I just want eat wherever I want, I'll pay for it. It's not free. And the worst part is the actitud of them laughing because obviously we are disappointed. Please put attention on the personal, I know this place side years ago, and never have this type of problem, they want me eat wherever they want, actually the last time I have the same discussion about it, they give me the torta with extra salchicha and lettuce, plus a piece of nail inside of the torta. And that was really disgusting, and take me longer time to come back and find them same people, and after I figure out they going to do the same, I better leave without buy nothing. Not even the tacos and mulitas we buy after this suck service.

It's just so very good. Carnitas especially are worth putting on or in anything including your mouth. Milanese torta was massive and delicious! Can't go wrong if you want a solid meal late into the night.

If you’re looking for real, authentic tacos that hit every mark freshness, flavor, and quality this is the spot! I stopped by around midnight, expecting the usual late-night food quality, but I was blown away by how fresh and delicious everything was. The tacos were made to perfection—you could taste the authenticity in every bite. Perfectly seasoned meats, warm handmade tortillas, and just the right balance of toppings. The salsas? Absolute fire! You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and take their time to do it right. Prices are on the higher side, but 100% worth it for the quality and experience. It’s not just food—it’s a real, traditional taco experience that you don’t find just anywhere. Whether you’re a taco connoisseur or just craving something amazing, this place is a must-visit! I’ll definitely be coming back!

Absolute trash, they sold me chicken tacos instead of beef that I ordered. Stray cats didn't like it either. A picture is worth a thousand words & here's two. Won't be sitting in that long line ever again.

Best tacos at a great price considering the location is outside of downtown. Worth the walk and wait to get some great food.
