Food is tip top awesome here. The family running this authentic Mexican restaurant is tops!! I came in last minute at closing, grills off and everything. My mom and I were hungry. They did the best they could and got us fed with what was still available. They were kind to us and didn't rush us. The mother at the register andbthe 2 daughters running around cleaning, all while smiling. Wow. Love them all!!! Thank you for being you.

2 Words. DAMN GOOD! 30 years in Wichita, finally found a place my hubby cannot wait to get back to. First visit was tacos and gorditas, 2nd trip was tacos, gorditas and sopes. It's cash only, but if you know, you know that's a heads up letting you know the food is legit!!

As a first-time customer, I was very disappointed with the experience. When I entered, I wasn’t greeted or acknowledged at all I just stood there while the staff saw me and continued to ignore me. When I finally picked up my food, I was even less impressed. The tacos were underwhelming, and I’ve had much better elsewhere. The salsas also didn’t complement the tacos well, in my opinion. Overall, the poor customer service really stood out and made the entire visit unpleasant.

Food is amazing and consistently fresh!! Awesome selection of sauces and fresh vegetable appetizer plates are complimentary. The staff is friendly and speedy as well. Everything is very affordable, don’t forget to bring cash!

I love the authentic food! Their staff are always friendly and helpful. The tacos al pastor are awesome! I just tried the Gringa and I will definitely order it again!

We regularly frequent this place since we found it. Very scaled down menu, but it's all good. I basically now just get the Alambre with Pastor, it's my favorite and I am never hungry as I am at other restaurants on occasion, having to buy several sides to fill me up. (I eat one meal a day, so sometimes it's a challenge to go out to eat and get enough food without spending a fortune). It's cheap. Cash only.

I’ve been a loyal customer at El Fogon for the past 5–6 years and have always enjoyed the food, often recommending it to others. Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I won’t be returning. I was given the wrong order—a Torta al Pastor instead of Carne Asada. Mistakes happen, and I was fine with that. But when I called to ask about exchanging it, the staff was extremely rude and insisted I pay again to get the correct item. It’s disappointing to be treated this way after years of support. It wasn’t the mix-up that bothered me—it was the lack of courtesy and the way the situation was handled that lost me as a customer.

This place is amazing! Low key and very delicious. The place is cash only but it is also an incredible value. The service was very fast and attentive. I tried all of the tacos and loved them all. The horchata is also very delicious. The salsa is really good especially the medium smoky one. Absolutely a must try place!

I come to Taqueria El Fogon probably two or three times per month. The tacos here are some of the best in Wichita (maybe even the best in Kansas!). The al pastor is always cooked to perfection, and in my opinion makes some of the best tacos. They also add fresh pineapple bits, onions and cilantro to these tacos. I haven't tried their tacos with any other meats just because the al pastor is so good. I have tried their carnitas meat on other items. Another noteworthy item is their sope, which is always golden and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I always like to get the carnitas on my sope. It's topped with lettuce, tomato, cheese and sour cream. Their homemade salsas finish off every taco and sope perfectly! Lastly, the homemade horchata is a must try. It's so well done here with the perfect amount of vanilla flavor. The customer service is fantastic as well. I always appreciate feeling valued as a customer and served by a polite waitstaff. So far, I have not found better Mexican food/tacos in the Wichita area. A good thing to keep in mind is that they are cash only. So make sure you have cash on you when you visit!

The only thing good here is the El Pastor tacos. Me and my sisters ordered DoorDash from here and when it got here, the tortilla was soggy and falling apart, the meat was one of the most unflavored things I've ever had. The burrito I ordered was filled with mostly lettuce and cilantro, and the very little meat that was in the burrito was mainly fatty and tasteless.

I recently moved from the bay area in California and we were looking for tacos. We found this place and gave it a try. Oh man, is like in California they have the ball of el pastor meat. Is very good, very authentic. The service is good,very nice people. The ambiance is ok, is outdated, but the food is good, can't complain. Remodel the place and I am sure you will have more customers.

Get the tacos Al pastor!! The salsas for tacos are all so yummy if you want authentic tacos try this place!

We ordered catering with El Fogon for our wedding. The lady that helped me was so nice and very helpful. They recommended the correct amount of food for the amount of people I had. They were prompt with the order and the food tasted AMAZING. The El Pastor slaps.

One of my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant. I love their pastor, the best of any other I've had. Customer service has always been good as well. If you haven't tried this place you should.

A good, authentic Mexican taqueria. It doesn't look like much - a shabby, hole-in-the-wall feel but the food was GOOD! Beware though, they only accept cash no credit cards. We had to visit a nearby ATM. It's good food!
