Google
Food was very good. It's all self serve for beverages and you buss your own table. Pay at the end , they do not show the break down of items charged so pay attention. Great spot to stop in again for some good food. Clean and fresh.

Google
This place seems to be a well kept secret. But it is a great place for authentic Mexican food. I ordered some chicken tacos for lunch takeout. Everything was well seasoned and the sauces were delicious. It was ready within 10 minutes. The website wasn't working for online orders, but it was easy to call in my order and pick it up. The inside is somewhat small, as is the parking area. But the atmosphere is fantastic. I love the choice of wood for the booths. I will definitely eat here again and look forward to trying other dishes here.

Google
The food was super big and pretty so you will get your money worth, but the food lacked flavor and tast I'm a firm believer if you don't smell the food you won't taste it. You have to go up to the counter and order first get your own drinks and if you don't know you will be lost for a minute walking around looking stupid. The third picture is the burrito was filled with onions and bell peppers and mind you I ate a great portion

Google
We had birria tacos at many places we visited including in Mexico, at Taqueria El Paso is our favorite. I also like tacos with beef tongue and just beef. They have Jamaica drink very refreshing. This is one of not many places in the area that we can get good fountain coke, just like Florida. Plenty of seatings and clean.

Sue Doenims

Google
Unfortunately.... When arrived here there were NO SEATS... And we had to park three blocks up the side street to walk down and discover the place was packed. I have no idea what the food is like... But people sure seemed to be enjoying it. The important thing to note is that you order at a winduw inside.... And then retrieve your food when it's ready. What I saw while walking through the entire place to try and a seat was very encouraging as the dishes were good sized portions and the atmosphere was like some places I've eaten in Latin a America....

Google
Great food! Parking is terrible tho. Very small lot. Whole in the wall place. Kind of a self serve find your own seat. Go to counter for menu pick what you go back to counter place order. Get your own drinks scrape your own plate when done pay at counter when ready to leave. Nothing wrong with that at all kind of like it. No waiting on service. Food was out in a timely manner. Tables did feel a bit sticky tho only complaint to be honest.

Google
the food is bomb literally, especially the birria tacos, its a must try once fr, speaking from experience, me n my bro are up in heaven cause of these tacos. They also deliver your food very fast, like very fast.

Google
Couldn't love this place any more, absolutely phenomenal food. Made with very fresh ingredients, and always served lightening fast. Staff works very hard and the food is top notch Mexican. I get the Barilla tacos, Frito burrito or chicken chimichangas, and all three are absolute perfection. My only real complaint is the parking lot is TINY and very hard to get in and out of when it's busy. Street parking is kind of minimal too.

Yelp
This is the Best Tacos in Akron Ohio!! The place is clean and the service is prompt! The food is fresh and full of flavor.....they have a verde sauce and a spicy sauce that taste delicious on all their food
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Best Mexican in Akron hands down! Very delicious and fresh. Had the burrito and it was amazing
google avatar

Benitra H.

Yelp
Hands down the best Birria tacos in the city. Never had a bad meal . The staff is very friendly. Never a long wait time. Food stays hot until I get home to pig out

Steven S.

Yelp
I'm fortunate enough to work close by and stop here about once a week. What a phenomenal spot! Food is always amazing (I get the chicken chimichangas, Barilla tacos, or the Frito Burrito) and they never disappoint. Service is always very fast. If you're looking for a very casual spot with great service and authentic mexican look no further.
google avatar

Steven S.

Yelp
Absolutely the best Mexican food I've ever had. I'm a fan of Mexican but a lot of Mexican places are kinda the same thing. Not here. Everything tastes homemade and is bursting with flavor. I regularly get the Barilla tacos and Frito burrito (a burrito that's been deep fried) and both are stellar. This is my favorite hidden gem lunch spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Quite literally the best tacos I have ever had in my life. Service was simple yet effective. You come in and find a spot to sit, order at the window and they will bring your food to your table. Drinks are self serve. You then pay at the window when finished and simply remind them what you orderd. Very simple yet very effective. Be wary of ordering the Birria tacos, you may become addicted. I learned this the hard way... Ambiance was nice, lots of seating avaliable.

Yelp
I moved here from San Diego, where we had the best taco shops! I miss the food there and looked for a taqueria here. This place has THE BEST barilla tacos! The El Pastor delicious also. It hit the spot while I was homesick for my taco shop from San Diego. They also had yummy refreshing horchata and pina. Perfect after an afternoon of hiking. If you are looking for authentic tacos and flavor this is the place.

Martin W.

Yelp
Best Mexican food anywhere in Ohio. Been heremover 20 years and lived around the country. Only other one as good was in Hayes, Kansas. Taqueria El Paso doesn't have frills -- it has good food and wonderful people (Rey and Marisol). Afraid to say too much or it might get more popular than it already is. If you want Taco Bell, Chipotle? Fine. But tjat's not Mexican food
google avatar

Jeremy G.

Yelp
Order at the side window. Great price for the quality and quantity of food you receive. Authentic Mexican. Amazing food. A must try if your in the Akron area.
google avatar

Autumn H.

Yelp
My Mexican foreman told me about this place and I haven't stopped coming back. The food is amazing, but their home made hot sauce is what keeps me coming back. You order at the front window and pay there. They bring out your food to your table. The place used to be a food truck, and has since upgraded to a sit down restaurant for you to enjoy the food. Drinks are self serve and the place itself is colorful and inviting. I'll never stop eating there as long as I live or as long as it's in business.
google avatar

Ross S.

Yelp
The staff was friendly and service was extremely fast. A heads up to new customers...you order at a counter and then someone brings the food to your table but I'm still not really sure if we had an official "server." This is a very very small establishment with maybe 5 small booths. My table was a bit sticky but nothing to complain about. The food was authentic and good but nothing amazing; just a bit better than others I've tried.

Yelp
If you are ever in the Akron area I would highly recommend that you come here for their delicious tacos , especially the Birria Tacos .

Jeff L.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. The remodel is awesome and accommodates more seating. Busy place, and the great food is why

Yelp
Favorite spot in Firestone Park. Eternally grateful for being within walking distance of this hidden gem. Authentic, flavorful, and friendly staff. Have been a repeat customer for years and they've come such a long way. New tables within the restaurant and the food is only getting better. Highly recommend

Cameron M.

Yelp
their closing times don't reflect what is online, etc. it'll say a closing time on google then on their actual physical menu will have a completely different closing time. i would always call to make sure what time they close before considering eating/ordering from here.
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
This is hands down the best place to get a huge, delicious and cheap burrito in south Akron. It's just a little hole in the wall. Nothing fancy but your tastebuds will be singing. Every time I come here, the food is perfect. The menu is small but the selection of meat is really good. I like the cabeza & lengua the best. Don't knock it until you try it. Yum!
google avatar

Kelcey M.

Yelp
Delicious carne asada tacos. Great value also! 3 for $5.50. These are the most authentic tacos I've had in NE Ohio
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
The best Birria tacos in Akron!! They have a great selection of Jarritos too. Guava is our new favorite!
google avatar

Jeremy P.

Yelp
Definitely some good tacos. I had the beef tongue and steak and they were very good. Typical street tacos s a lot of flavor. My daughter had beef tacos and loved them. A friend got the burrito and it was huge for the price and tasty. His daughter got a quesadilla and it was loaded and big. Small tiny place so we did takeout but def worth the 11 minute drive from our hotel

Grant B.

Yelp
the BEST mexican food I've ever had!! incredible friendly service with a great atmosphere!

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Luv luv this restaurant. Food is aweso.e. I have not had anything i didn't like. Although the Street Tacos are my favorite!! Crave them alot. You will not be sorry.
google avatar

Emily O.

Yelp
Delicious authentic Mexican (not Tex Mex) food! Love the huaraches! Their sopes, Jamaica, and horchata are also delicious.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
Authentic mexican street food, we have not had since So Cal, what a treat and surprise. Recommend anything on the menu. If you order any burrito, be ready for.a meal.....
google avatar

Linz M.

Yelp
My favorite Mexican food since leaving Southern California. Delicious and perfectly priced. lol I just read the other reviews... Lots of southern Californians recommending this place. And we know our Mexican food being so close to Tijuana. I'd also like to mention I don't know any of the other reviewers on here.
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
Best authentic Mexican food I've ever had. I used to think El Rincon was the bees knees around here, but then I discovered this gem. Hole-in-the-wall place, but the food is great. Tacos and quesadillas are on point. Order the Christmas Huerache too. I'm sure I spelled that wrong. I just wish they had an online menu.

Bob D.

Yelp
Food is fantastic. The environment is fun and high energy. The beef has great flavor.
google avatar

Josh N.

Yelp
I moved to Ohio from Southern California and have been missing authentic Mexican food. Luckily after a few months of trying places here and there I found this place. I am no longer homesick for Mexican food.
google avatar

Eli B.

Yelp
I love this restaurant. The portions are good (and often leave leftovers!) and the taste is solid. The menu has a great options (the Torta is amazing) and I haven't had any of the different meat selections that I didn't like.
google avatar

Neil B.

Yelp
Simply the best taqueria in northeast Ohio and it isn't even close. Actually authentic tacos. The best al pastor tacos I've had this side of the border. I also highly recommend the flank steak quesadilla. I'm constantly on the lookout for good authentic mexican, especially taquerias. This place is the best around. I should also mention the taqueria salsa is spot on. The red is the perfect amount of spicy with lots of flavor, the green is less spicy and a little sour as it should be. Always good to call ahead as this place is very busy at lunch.
google avatar

Austin M.

Yelp
This was an amazing little joint. I got the three-taco combo. I ordered one steak, one beef tongue and one chorizo taco. Often chorizo tends to be greasy and hit or miss. This chorizo taco ended up being my favorite however. The tortillas were tasty fresh. The cook was singing back in the kitchen which is always a good sign.

Yelp
I feel a little bad for the millions of people in Mexico City that are losing their great chefs to Akron, Ohio! But luckily for us, Taqueria El Paso is another fantastic option for completely authentic mexican cuisine. The owner is the cousin of the owner of Taqueria La Loma and helped create their menu when he worked at the old La Loma food truck. He decided to branch out on his own and opened the Taqueria El Paso food truck a few years ago. He told me that he made a point of creating new flavor profiles and unique food options rather than just copying the existing options from La Loma. And it seems like it has worked out really well as he has now recently moved from the truck into a permanent location at the same plaza. The food at Taqueria El Paso is very fresh and the portion sizes are very generous with larger-than-average slices of meat in the various menu options. Everything I have tried so far has been fantastic. There are a couple notable menu options at El Paso. They offer a marinated Chicharrón meat option which is really good and shown in the rightmost taco I have pictured. They also carry Huaraches which are basically the same as sopes but 3x bigger and also have avocado on top. Their cabeza (beef cheek) is outstanding as well and I highly recommend ordering a taco with it if you have yet to try it. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite parts of a cow to eat! It is a very small restaurant so the tables can easily fill up around meal times and the small size and proximity to the kitchen will also make your clothes smell pretty bad. This was a significant enough factor that since my first visit every other order has been to-go rather than dine in. Taqueria El Paso is inexpensive, authentic, fresh and delicious. It worth going out of your way to try and should become a weekly staple if you live nearby! It is a great example of some of the best Mexican food you can get - anywhere.

Yelp
Indeed it doesn't look like much when you pass by easy to miss when driving it's so tiny and limited parking spaces that have been extended onto the sidewalk. By far hands down the best tacos I've ever had including Mexico LOL. This is something everybody must try I even drove my father from Cleveland down here and he agrees it's the best ever. I like the Carnitas I like the chicken I like the carne asada all excellent. And the two sauces they give you I believe tomatillos and tomato.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
Completely disappointed! While in town on a job many of my colleagues recommended this spot with rave reviews so I finally was able to check it out. Picked up my order and got back to the job site to find it was incorrect. It happens. So, I took it back and had them remake it. No biggie. Get back to the site again and surprise, wrong again. $15 in burrito thrown in the trash and me with no lunch. While this spot is a bit more authentic, save the headache and go a mile down the road to Mi Casa.
google avatar

Lynn S.

Yelp
I love this place! The chorizo tacos are the bomb. The rice and beans are on point. They're sauces are homemade and they give you a side of cucumbers which makes the dish look more colorful and prettier and adds this freshness to it. Then they have these homemade drinks,my favorite is the horchata and I also love the pineapple drink too! I could eat here everyday.
google avatar

Emily E.

Yelp
Delicious food!!! The people are friendly and food is quick! Most delicious Mexican food for the money!

Letoya M.

Yelp
We love our neighborhood taco spot! When we first moved to the area, they were still serving out of their food truck. And I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the giant line waiting was for. So one day I stopped. Best. Decision. Ever. These tacos are fresh, the perfect size, and best of all, they feel and taste authentic. My husband and I have tried every 'flavor'. We prefer the tacos to the burritos we've gotten, but purely on personal preference. They also have divine tamales. Each order is served with fresh lime and 2 homemade hot sauces. A green and a red. It's such a nice touch, and they are delicious. This is a very small no frills place. But the staff is always plenty friendly. You can eat in (order at a counter) and they'll bring it to you at one of their 5 booths, or you can take it to go. That's the route we take. The place is always full and it's such a fun eclectic mix of people. One last thing that we enjoy-- BOTTLED COKE!

Alan L.

Yelp
Food is spot on. Closest To authentic you can get in Ohio. And I'm from southern Cali.

Chris W.

Yelp
This place is simply amazing. If you like Mexican I highly recommend this place. The portions are great, price is very reasonable.
google avatar

Kat K.

Yelp
This is my FAVORIIIITE Mexican place in Akron. Everything I've had here is good, and very inexpensive. They give you hot sauces, lime wedges, and peeled cucumber slices to compliment your meal. The chorizo is actually spicy, the cilantro in the pico de gallo tastes so fresh and delicious, and the portions are big. I'm pretty obsessed. Everywhere else sucks, go here.
google avatar

Becky B.

Yelp
Amazing authentic Mexican food. I can't believe I waited so long to try this place! We got tacos and a burrito. Both were fantastic.

Aidan R.

Yelp
They know how to make real food I feel like these are the same foods they would feed their mothers

Steven W.

Yelp
Not even close... this is the best Mexican food I've had in the area. I live 20 minutes away and will go out of my way to get this food instead of the great Mexican place right down the street. Unmatched prices for the amount of food and amazing quality. I recommend the chorizo in any of their dishes. My favorite is the chimichanga.
google avatar

Maritza M.

Yelp
This was a cute little place but was disappointed as the chicken Tasted over cooked or a day old‍ with no flavor. I'm sure it was because they were super busy which was good for them. The veggies were super fresh and tasty though. Sitting in the booth was a little uncomfortable as it was dirty. Could be a cute comfy small place and the food I'm sure is outstanding we just had a bad experience with the food.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
This is a great hole in the wall restaurant. My husband raved about it in the past and I was excited to try it! We got taquitos and salad. Yum! It was a lot of food and next time we will probably share but it was all delicious!
google avatar

Alexandrina K.

Yelp
The best hands down street tacos in Akron! Granted that's all I ever get when we eat here but it's worth it. Reminds me of California ever time! A little piece of home when I eat their tacos. Muy bein!!
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
Amazing quality, price, portion. Reminds me exactly of all the little spots in middle of nowhere So Cal. Hard to beat 3 tacos for $5.50. I definitely recommend this spot.
google avatar

Eliza J.

Yelp
El Paso serves up the freshest tacos in Akron. The meat, cilantro, and onion fills each taco very well and they have delicious hot sauce and lime to drizzle on each taco. 3 tacos for $5--you can't beat it! My cravings never end.
google avatar

Rachelle S.

Yelp
I love the couple that runs this place. Tip them well and they will take care of you! You cant beat the prices, the burritos are huge.
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
The delicious tacos draw me from my home 18 miles away! This establishment is a hole in the wall, but the surroundings can be overlooked because the food is fresh and savory with herbs, vegetables, and spices. Nothing in the area compares. Nothing like the slop served at other Mexican restaurants ( I can't believe they call that crap food). This food is SO GOOD and I like the friendliness of the mom and pop who own it. I peer into the kitchen and it appears to be very clean as well. Try the barbacoa tacos. I believe it's closed Mondays.
