Casual, family-run spot with a salsa bar and a menu leaning south—barbacoa estilo Jalisco, chicharrón en salsa roja, and rajas con crema. Locals point visitors here for solid value and flavors that go beyond the usual Tucson standards.

Google
this was my go to for a quick easy meal whenever i couldnt decide what i wanted to eat on the rare occasion i decided to get food delivery. The breakfast sausage burritos were the best and no matter how many times i got them, they were always satisfying. however, the last few times have been pretty dissapointing. Overall, the burrito has gotten bigger in size, however, thats because they now drown it in cheese. So much so that i feel like they've even reduced the amount of egg and/or potato as well and made up for it with just way way too much cheese. It also comes in sections too, like you start with potatos, eggs, sausage, then enter cheese hell.

Google
Looove this place!!! It's my husband's and I go to whenever we want street tacos. The fries are amazing too 😋

Google
Came here for food tonight, as it's my favorite Mexican food spot in Tucson. Son fell out of the car. They were all so nice to make sure he felt better, giving him ice and even French fries. Oc course the food is always perfect. Its fast to and you can tell it's cooked with passion. Seriously check this place out. I've ordered many things and have never been let down with anything.

Google
Heard Tucson specialty is tacos! This was a good stop. We had the Barbacoa tacos w crispy shell. Really flavorful. Also had a shredded beef which was ok but not much flavor. We had chips and guacamole and the chips were so good. Guac was nice and creamy!

Must stop when in Tucson. Tasty, authentic flavors. Highly recommended.

I moved out of Tucson in 2021 and I was always so excited to stop here whenever I come back to town. The last time I noticed the price went up and the portions were a lot smaller. This time, sealed the deal for me. I will never be returning to this place. I ordered the Zacatecas burrito. All it was filled with was A bunch of bacon, barely any meat, no pico de gallo And no sour cream. The meat was so dry. It reminded me of beef jerky.I was charged almost $15 for this burrito. I sincerely do not know what happened to the quality of this place, but I absolutely am extremely disappointed. There are multiple fast food style taco shops that have a way better burrito than what I had today. I definitely would like my money back, but unfortunately, I’ve already left town because I grabbed my burriti On my way out of town to go back home.

Google
Okay, I’m a taco fiend and my tastebuds know great tacos. I’ve been to several places here in Tucson and I’ve had excellent tacos! Taqueria El Pueblito is great also, but, a little greater! The shredded beef was better, the taco shells a little crispier (but not over cooked!) and the salsa bar was great! My scope of rating a restaurant is: food first, the salsa bar 2nd, the customer service, and then the establishment itself. I already spoke about the tacos, the salsas and pickled carrots and jalapeños we’re phenomenal! Could have used a bin of cilantro, but it didn’t hurt the flavor without it. The restaurant itself, was the nicest and cleanest I’ve been to. Nice seating, indoors and out and the people working there were very friendly and helpful! If you like tacos you should try this place out!

Google
I spent 30$ on a pack of asada tacos and a quesadilla meat was not tender all the food taste old like it was all pre-made a day or two ago. I don't understand how this place has such good reviews! the women kept my change and never told me anything. I wld rather eat something like nikos Los betos or Fila bertos at this quality. Honestly I would much rather eat at the quesadilla restaurant on craycroft for better quality food very disappointed with this place overall. It was fast tho.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST menudo in T-town. I wish they made both white and red BUT regardless the red is superior to all others I have tried all over the city. They bring out a container with a heap of lime/lemon, cilantro, and onion as well as a grinder with Mexican oregano and chiltepin! This place also has other excellent dishes and their house made guac salsa is one of my favorite things to eat in the planet.

Yelp
Wow this place sucks. Like shockingly. I came in for taco Tuesday. I was craving a good fish taco and I really prefer when it's fried with a good seasoned batter. In my previous review I mentioned the tacos here were stellar. I'd like to retract that statement. I came in Tuesday despite there being no taco deals. There is a 10% off Yelp check-in offer that is no longer available but it was honored. I got 4 tacos: 1 carne asada, 2 fish and 1 al pastor. Before discount 19.75 after $17 something. The carne was dry but properly seasoned not much grill flavor tho. The fish was laughably small. For $3.75 a taco I felt grifted, like someone had robbed me. Each taco came with 2 cut pieces of fish "filet", one the size of my pinky and one the size of my ring finger. The flavor was okay. I asked for the cream chipotle sauce that's typical for fish tacos to be on the side, which was tasty and I was given a lot of it. The Al pastor was PITIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to say this was the best Al pastor in Tucson. Cubed pork seasoned and grilled to perfection with an amazing marinade. Not anymore it was a shredded overly sweet mess. The ambiance was fine. It's clean. What did annoy me is they don't have any plastic to go cups so I couldn't take anything from the condiment bar. I assumed they gave me limes so I was sorely disappointed when I got home. But limes would not have saved my food. For this amount of money I could sit down and be full till my hearts content. I will not be coming back. Another Tucson stable bites the dust.

Yelp
Stopped by this restaurant for a quick bite and we left fat and happy. No issues with the service and the lady taking orders was friendly and welcoming. Our food also came out fast and was piping hot! The food was pretty good although the asada was sort of fatty but nonetheless, it was good! The prices are average and the atmosphere of the restaurant is that of a typical taqueria. One thumb and one big toe up for this place! We'll definitely be back. Happy eating, my foodies!

Yelp
2/5* for flavor --Guisidos we tried were bland, lots of it, but amiss in flavor profile in chicken mole taco and chicken  burrito. Quality product though, lovely salsa bar, labeled and with reusable metal cups, greatly appreciated for sustainability as well as the metal baking sheet plating. Nice clean dining room with a few tables, Fountain machine behind the counter and a chalk board menu. Chix Mole was not so complex, no chocolate or warming chile and just slight hint of sweet, light orange in color, a similar shade to the chicken burrito that had  mild smokiness but not much else. The Pico de Gallo is oddly spicy hot.  Burrito value filled 5/5* with heaps of chix _10.50 lunch special with large Fountain Drink, but while taco equally full, just one 5" wheat tortilla $3.25, 2.5/5*. Mild Green, medium Chipotle, Hot Avocado and spicy Red salsa with fresh pickles red onions, carrots/jalapenos and limes available self serve salsa bar.  Was just running errands so glad to try it but looking for more flavor next time. Grilled meats maybe but pass on the guisidos.

Yelp
We came in for dinner last week. I wasn't impressed unfortunately. My husband ordered a taco salad and it came in a metal dog food type bowl. The beans were a bit on the dry side and tasted old. I had the 1 taco, 1 enchilada plate, and it was just underwhelming. They didn't have ground beef, which is my fav in a taco, and was just small and meh, the rice wasn't great either and also on the dry side. I would go back to try a breakfast burrito though, I hear good things about them!

Yelp
Delicious breakfast burritos! I wish they had substitutions available for delivery apps. I called in for bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast burritos with no potato but add refried beans. Everything was perfect and exactly as I requested when I picked it up. No surprise cabbage like some other places around town. They gave me plenty of the kind of salsa I requested. Thanks you guys!!
google avatar

Yelp
Salsa was great but the carne asada breakfast burrito is pretty much all French fries. The salsa was on point though.

Yelp
This is quickly becoming my go to spot for fast delicious Mexican food. This most recent time I ordered the 1-2 person family pack and added a cheese quesadilla to the order. This will easily make 3 meals for me at least, which is really nice when you live alone on a budget and can't always find the motivation to cook. Everything was prepared quickly and the entire meal is delicious as I've come to expect from them. The tortillas are soft and chewy, beans and rice are well flavored, salsas are always fresh, mild to moderately spicy, and the barbacoa and other meats I've had are full of flavor and are very tender. The rajas are always very creamy and loaded with cheese and peppers. They are very generous with taco and burrito fillings, always friendly and clean when I visit the restaurant in person, and the consistency is very good.

Yelp
yall just go five stars is too littlee to be honest! service is quick and food is fresh:) & the environment reminds me of fonditas en mi pueblo

Yelp
The service and ambiance was decent. The food on the other hand didn't thrill me. Ordered the al pastor taco and it was not at all like i'm used too! This resembled a barbacoa taco. Shredded meat and it was watery. Barley had any pineapple. The chicarrones tacos were mushy and wet not something I like but to each their own. The bean taco was extremely basic . Blob of beans with cheese. Something your picky nephew would want. The bottled lemonade was good.

Yelp
Stopped in for a burrito. Torn between pollo asada and pastor. Asked if they could make a 50/50 burrito. They did. Amazing. Tender and moist chicken. Pastor had great flavor. Thank you!!!

Yelp
When we lived in Tucson we used to come here all the time. Now that we live in Phoenix we can only get it once in a while. It has been a few years since we were here but we were so happy that it is still here. We always get a Zacatecas burrito con Juevos and just have it like a breakfast burrito. It is huge. It is delicious. The people who work here are nice. They did not shame me for asking for "taquitos" when I should have said "flautas". I was ordering those for the first time for the kids. The interior seems to have had a little remodel. It was clean. The bathroom was clean. No complaints. Actually my only complaint is that the food in Phoenix just isn't as good. I wish they would clone this one up there.

B S.

Yelp
We always back to this place, it's always consistent with the taste and I love that it's flavorful the salsa bar is so so delicious!! And the ambiance is relaxing, thank you for your amazing service!!

ID S.

Yelp
The food was simply not good at all. "Grilled chicken" was grittle cooked to leather. Salsa had so much oregano it tasted like pasta sauce. And seriously, tri-color chips, are they from COSTCO?

Yelp
We were on the hunt for more than just eggs this Easter! Realizing most of our usual spots were closed for the Easter holiday, we were delighted to have a friendly voice answer the phone and advise they would be open until 3pm so we could still grab lunch! This neighborhood spot was somewhere we'd driven by many times but never stopped in so it was a great time to try something new and I'm so grateful we did. There was plenty of parking, a lovely patio, and tons of seating inside. The space was clean and the music was a nice touch complementing the wall of really cool photos in the dining area. The staff were very nice and helpful, quick service, and it didn't take long to get our food even though the place was starting to fill up with people. We ordered the cheese enchiladas with red sauce, a kids bean and cheese burrito (for when you want to test it out, but know you can't put down a whole burro), and the shredded beef tacos. It was AWESOME! The beans were done perfectly with the right combo of smooth with some bean bits left in tact, the rice was moist and tasty, and as a cheese enchilada junkie - they are a must try! The sauce was smoky with just a hint of heat and the white cheese on the inside was creamy and smooth - muy bien! The shredded beef tacos and bean and cheese burro were equally as tasty and the prices were very reasonable - I think I have a delicious new neighborhood Mexican food spot to add to the rotation :)

Yelp
In many ways I love this little Taqueria in the busy area of Campbell Avenue. The staff is pleasant the setting is clean and quaint. The food is tasty. Today was our second time there. Today I ordered the veggie burrito. I expected to get some onion, peppers, maybe squash, and tomato .... a mixture of veggies. Instead the filling was primarily beans and rice with a tiny bit of onion and a tiny bit of lettuce. Since I had also order the platter I had plenty of beans and rice already. I was quite disappointed. I will return, but I will not be getting the veggie burrito again. Also, my wife asked for a carne asada enchilada and was told it was not on the menu but it was listed on the board.....and we had it last time. So there are some catches.....but overall I like supporting this place. The food is tasty....but they need to tighten a few things up. It seems like authentic Mexican cuisine to my eyes and taste buds (which are not expert).

Henry W.

Yelp
We arrived at this little place with a very impressive menu, including my new favorite, chicharon, at 7:16pm tonight and it's now 8:30pm. I now have a mild stomach ache but fortunately I don't think anything will explode. HOWEVER... I had to rush my Mexican friend to my home's restroom right quick because, well, even though she says she's been eating tacos since she was conceived and usually has a stomach of steel, she almost blew up my car's interior with the remains of her al pastor taco. Yep, just one slushy taco. That's it. If she obliterates my plumbing I'm sending the restaurant owner the roto-rooter bill and a sample of the incendiary sauce. But the staff was friendly! Update: it's 9:00pm and I just took some pepto.

Yelp
Nice place with comfortable seating. Burritos are huge and flavor is great. Loved the chicken enchiladas! Good value for price. Service was quick and very responsive.
google avatar

Yelp
This hole in the wall is nothing fancy, but man do they make good chimichangas. They are massive with your choice of meat filling. Their salsa bar is finally back and the guacamole salsa is excellent. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating. The chips come warm from the oven.
google avatar

Geneva B.

Yelp
The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious! The dining room is modest and comfy.

Yelp
I ordered a torta de pastor and the thing tasted disgusting. I'm not sure if they're food went bad or what but I couldn't even finish it. Don't come here unless you want to get sick and feel like getting a colon cleanse for 10 bucks.
google avatar

Yelp
This taqueria is kvetched in between an Italian/Greek place to its left and a gourmet salad place to its right. All three have shaded outdoor seating where one can gather to eat. We did just that with three dogs yesterday. We wanted to eat before walking a section of the Loop and the outdoor seating is what got our attention. I ordered a #10 dinner, a Mini burrito combo with rice and beans and meat of your choice. I had pollo asado in my burrito. The meat was well-spiced but the burritos were a little on the hard side. Some salsa helped soften the burritos and I enjoyed my meal. I got two meals out of my food My friend had a bodacious chimichanga with rice and beans. He liked it so much, he ate the entire meal in one sitting. He didn't even give his dog a morsel. Service was fast and friendly. Food is for take-out or outdoor dining only, and patrons must be masked inside. The indoor seating is closed off during the pandemic, but there are four tables outside, one at each corner of the patio.

Yelp
A tasty and humble Mexican grill that has no shortage of proteins to customize into nachos, fries, burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and more. I went with their signature item--the Zacatecas burrito--with carne asada, bacon, grilled onions, and cheese. It was a bit too fatty for me but I just love trying new burros that are different from what everyone else is doing. Can also vouch for their al pastor. I tasted one of those tacos and it was great stuff! Prices are a bit more than a drive through place, but the quality is way better too. Orders come out pretty gosh darn fast, and there's plenty of seating indoors or out. If you want a quick dinner with good ingredients, you couldn't go wrong here.
google avatar

Joe N.

Yelp
Updating my review. A year later and I'm still in love with this place. I finally tried their breakfast burritos and those were even better than the tacos! And the tacos are awesome. The carnitas are amazing!
google avatar

Larry B.

Yelp
Covid-19 update So they are only open for takeout and delivery and that is ok. However, the quality of the takeout is very substandard. I really like this place but they are currently just throwing things in a box and giving it to you outside. No flavor, no consistency and tasteless. Hope when the finally open they improve big time or I will drop them from my list. We received a box that was suspense to be three shredded beef tacos. After opening the box, I am not sure what was what.

Yelp
This Mexican food is a 3.5 but most def a border of a 4 star . Here is my issue. The price. The price per person is looking like $11-15 per person. I actually feel that if your paying that much for a dish it should be a bit more upscale. Today we took a drive to this nice little place roughly central Tucson fort Lowell and 1st ave. We typically don't venture out that far but I was in the mood for some Mexican food and some place that the family and I haven't been before: the decor was a traditional Mexican style and the seating was very nice. I would say it felt very welcoming. The staff was very nice. Let's get to the food. Angelica has a pork Chile verde burrito. The issue is that this burrito comes with beans inside of it. Typically the reason why they do that is to cut the heat from the burrito. Unfortunately it seemed more beans than green Chile. Which typically when you get a green Chile burrito has large chunks of meat and green Chile goodness. This burrito was big but the filing was shredded green Chile mixed with beans. It was good though. Isaiah had two pollo asado tacos , this comes with lettuce and sour cream. Grilled chicken on top of a nice soft flour tortilla. It was very delicious. Of course I had a little nibble, daddy tax. I had two shredded beef tacos, comes with lattice and cheese. They were bigger than a street taco but smaller than a regular corn tortilla. I would most def say that there is no reason to charge 3.50 for something that small. But I got two and they were decent :) I also had two carnitas tacos and those were small as well. A little bigger than a street taco but smaller than a regular corn tortilla. Those were also good. Like I said before if it wasn't for the price this would be a good 4 restaurant. But that's my review, I hope you consider this place if your in the area and are in the mood for good Mexican food.

Yelp
I'm so lucky to live 3 minutes from this place. Me and my boyfriend nicknamed it the burrito palace. When we're hungover this burrito and a glass of Mexican sprite always sets us straight. I haven't had anything besides the breakfast burritos but I'm sure everything on the menu is great here. We get the bacon, egg, potato and cheese breakfast burrito. The bacon they use has to be top grade and different than the store bought bacon I normally get. It's thick cut and smokey. The tortillas they use are also very good. Good salasas. Thank you for always being consistently delicious.

Yelp
Excitement turned into disappointment I was excited for the chicarron taco. Not only it was spicily tasteless, the topping wasn't crunchy! The price was overly expensive. Most tacos were over $3 and tasteless at the same time. I have had better in Mesa, AZ. I thought Tucson is near Mexico then it should have better tacos for cheap but I was wrong. I knew there are other places in Tucson that offer more topping options but they are still expensive. This place? For the price I paid for, I didn't get the food that I deserve.

Rosita U.

Yelp
Honestly food here is beyond bad had a combo nothing had flavor. Then I had posole another time was disgusting food is low priced but u get what u pay for will never go back gross . Try Rosa's next door in shopping strip delicious food there .

Joe S.

Yelp
Breakfast burrito wasn't great . tried again for lunch. Carne asada in my burrito was very poor quality. Counter staff didn't seem happy to be there. I wasn't either

Derek S.

Yelp
Very cool morning breakfast food. Reminds me of really good Mexican food. Make sure to ask for green Chile packets.

Yelp
Ordered the menudo and al pastor taco. The taco was nothing to write home about, especially for its price. However, I was craving menudo so badly, but usually would have an issue going to a place before it's run out. Now, I just get it delivered since I'm not sure if I could force myself out to beat the crowd. The flavors are excellent, though I have to admit I have not had a bad experience with menudo in general. The organ meats were cooked well, not hard at all. You definitely can't go wrong or during menudo from here. 5/5 stars solely for the menudo

Yelp
As part of my responsibilities of finding restaurants to try out when on travel, I decided to check this place out considering I was in town for a conference. I was looking for a place who had some good green chile and tacos for lunch. I stumbled upon this place while just browsing Yelp and trying to find good food for the time we have off for lunch and with a group, we checked this place out. This spot has some charm to it, and it comes out that most good Mexican spots have the same charm. Hole in the wall, not the best dining or anything...just really simplistic and a salsa bar. That's it. So what did I get? I ordered a green chile burrito and two tacos, an al pastor and chicharron. Now if you had the choice of what to get, burrito is the way to go. It's big and it'll satisfy your appetite. The green chile burrito wasn't spicy, so if that's what you're expecting don't expect it. I would suggest the salsa bar and add peppers to it if you want it spicier. The chicharron taco was pretty spicy, and I was warned when I ordered it. If you're looking for spice, this is the taco to get. I also ordered an Al pastor taco, which had plenty of flavor and the comfort of al pastor was there. Overall, this place is definitely solid. I don't know if it's the best, but it's better than anything I've had from where I live. I would say go here if you're trying to find a place for lunch and pretty solid Mexican food.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
I met a couple friends here strictly off the yelp reviews. It did not disappoint. Very small hole in the wall feel, inthe breakfast burrito was fantastic. The burrito actually took up the entire plate. $5.99 wasn't a bad price either. If you're looking for a place to grab some good breakfast, give this one a try. Back from lunch, had the flautes. The food, fantastic as usual and so tasty. You must stop by and try them out.

Dana H.

Yelp
Had their food before and everything tastes pretty good, but kind of gross kitchen practice happened to me. Ordered a burrito they said came with rice drove it home and no rice. No big deal I live close by so drive back over, they said we'll get you a new one. Super nice. However drove "the new one" home unwrapped it to find they had taken my bitten food back into their kitchen opened it up plopped a scoop of rice in and refolded it in the same tortilla and everything. Didn't even reheat the other fillings so a cold old burrito. Also think as a general practice you aren't suppose to bring outside food back into your clean kitchen? Probably won't return.

Mitchell W.

Yelp
This is my favorite burrito spot in town, I have been going here for many years and I just don't think you can beat the quality and delicious taste of their fresh meat and tortillas. I love the barbacoa and el Pueblito burrito. That also have the best red and green salsa.

Mary V.

Yelp
Best Carne asada burrito in town! Absolutely love the green salsa and spicy guacamole too. One of my favorite Tucson quick eats! Courteous service always. And they have a great outdoor patio, as the inside ambience is rather lackluster, but always very clean! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Erika H.

Yelp
I have food allergies and am allergic to beans. Beans were added to my food anyway. I didn't receive salsa. When I called to rectify this order the lady hung up on me.
google avatar

Steve T.

Yelp
We love trying new places and El Pueblito looked like a good hole-in -the wall. Crispy tacos and burrito were very good. Only wished they used their own cut potatoes instead of what seemed like precut french fries. Carne asada in burrito was very good. Come on guys, fresh potatoes are easy to prep and make a big difference!

P L.

Yelp
The food is very good. Everything looked and smelled good so I ordered 4 different tacos and each was delicious. Even ordered a burrito to go for later. The price is good and the quality and flavor is better.

Diane M.

Yelp
We love El Pueblito on Campbell - they have been consistently good whether we order giant burritos, fish tacos or Chimichangas ... and really nice staff. We like to sit on the patio.
google avatar

Elle M.

Yelp
Breakfast burrito spot! Hands down favorite breakfast burrito in Tucson. Can't go wrong with the sausage or chorizo breakfast burrito. They are always made to order and taste fresh and delicious! Be sure to try the salsas. The spicy green is my go to, but it's not consistently spicy. Enjoy!!
google avatar

Megane E.

Yelp
Visiting from Phoenix this was number one on our list of places to visit every time and it never disappoints. Today was a different day I ordered a burrito and it was nothing but grease hardly any flavor couldn't get past the grease dripping from it. Brought the half back to the room and it seems to have gotten worse.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite Mexican burritos freakin ever ! They're salsas are amazing and they're burritos are always piping hot & fresh. Not like some of those other joints using gallons on canola oil & weak salsas. I can't believe this place has only 4 stars... I'm also typically a very healthy eater and have high quality and sourcing standards....usually I regret those other burrito joints...no regrets ever with this restaurant. If I have guests, I know I can count on this place to give them a legit Mexican meal. THEY ARE CONSISTENT, LOCAL & SOME OF THE BEST THAT TUCSON HAS TO OFFER!!! PRICE POINT IS GREAT....HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
google avatar

Erick D.

Yelp
I've eaten at this restaurant a few times and it's always been pretty good. Today I ordered a few tacos and menudo for take out. The tacos were excellent. The toppings varied with the different meat types which I thought was pretty cool. The menudo was good as always. The food here is pretty good value. Nice staff too. I hope that they're able to make it through the Social Distancing time period.

Yelp
MY NEW GO TO BURRITO SPOT! The freshest ingredients in town! My friend did say it was the best veggie burrito she has had in her entire life! The customer service was exquisite! The woman at the register was extremely accommodating and made us laugh :) we were even able to make our veggie burrito into veggie tacos!! If you're in to that kinda thing. My new go to rrito spot!!

Yelp
I first tried fish Tacos in Tubac and I really enjoyed them. So when I saw them on the menu at one of my favorite Taquerias, I had to give them a try. Lightly battered filets of Pollack white fish. Fried to a Crispy brown but still tender and moist inside. On corn tortillas with a heavenly creamy tartar sauce. Then I added lime juice, Mexican relish, hot sauce and radishes. Delicious! 3 fish Tacos were $12.69 after tax. Wonderful lunch!
google avatar

Sandi L.

Yelp
Delicious! I had the Barbados and the shredded beef tacos and they were each different from each other and both really yummy in their own way. The chips and salsa were very fresh and flavorful.

Yelp
5 star food! 3 star atmosphere! Clean! Loved it here. Not the picture of comfort however they do use real plates and real forks and knives. Loved it here! Ordered the Zacatecas's burrito (carne asada, bacon, onions and guacamole). All inside a fresh flour tortilla! Also ordered their Barbacoa enchilada style. After going to their salsa (red and green and some more) bar and getting some nice spicy sauces for our burritos...we dug in! Great meat flavor. Herbs, spice...all very nice. Reminded me of being in Mexico! I think that is a good thing!
