This lively, family-owned Mexican chain is the go-to for tasty tacos and colossal burritos, with a fun atmosphere perfect for late-night bites.
"This is one of the liveliest restaurants in the area, and it serves some of the best tacos in town. The servings are small plate size, so you’ll need at least three for two people, plus a couple of sides and/or nibbles. Plus a small bathtub’s worth of margaritas and beer. Bright lighting and very basic seating make this a venue for all-out embarrassing behaviour rather than a quiet date. That’s especially true when the place is rammed, as it often is: the noise level can be pretty frightening. Go with a gang, and don’t miss the fish tacos. Or the roadside chicken tacos. Or the spinach side dish. Taquería is also an easy place for vegetarians to eat without feeling that they’re second-rate citizens. You may get lucky with a walk-in during the week, but you need to book on Friday or Saturday." - Richard Ehrlich
