The 13 Best Al Pastor Tacos In Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"Taqueria La Casita Del Pastor is parked outside of a pawn shop in South Austin, next to a few covered picnic tables that make it a quick and easy stop for a casual dinner. The al pastor isn’t quite as crispy as other places dedicated to this style, but it’s as flavorful as any you’ll find in town, and served in portions so robust that even a couple of tacos will go a long way. Try them with the orange salsa—it's fruity but packs a big punch, which is perfect alongside a slice of sweet pineapple." - nicolai mccrary

Been coming here for almost a year now, got tired of the other pastor spots dropping their quality and consistency, but so far these guys have been nothing but amazing service and food time and time again, and as of today, 8/28, they really stepped up their menu! Give these guys a try if you like food that feels as if it was made at home, personally love their orange salsa, and their pineapple portion on the tacos blend very well with the meat instead of having that big ol square chunk you have to chomp to break.

Birria Queso Tacos with Consommé were delicious! The portions and amount of meat was great! Our order was ready within about 7 minutes. Plenty of parking and they have a little shaded area with picnic tables to enjoy your food.

We live in San Marcos but drove in to handle some things on a Sunday Morning. We thought, tacos sound bomb why not? Googled and this spot popped up, saw all the great reviews and decided to try it! WOW!! Let me tell you, we have tried all kinds of spots and this is top tier. The Al Pastor, Saudero, and barbacoa were amazing. The meat was tender and really well cooked. The salsas, green and red, were perfect. The small details were also there, with the limon being fresh and juicy, the cilantro and onion not wilted and crisp, and the tortillas fresh. The customer service was wonderful. We couldn’t decide what we wanted, but they were patient and got the order right even with all the changes. Try the Maracuya agua, also really good. Love this spot and WILL be back! Give it a shot, you will not regret trying!! (also we tore up the food before we got the chance to take a photo)

Amazing food here. The guys who operate this taco truck are super nice. They do accept credit cards. The food was delicious! If you say “I want everything “ in the burrito they put slices of avocado. Get the el pastor - the rotisserie pork meat. It is one of the best I’ve tried!

I came in from out of town and was looking for a good place to purchase some tacos and I was specifically wanting to eat tacos Al Pastore, and I’ll tell you what these are the best tacos that I have had in my life very good service. The owner went ahead and gave me one taco to taste and I’ll tell you what it was delicious so if you ever in the Austin area, make sure you come and check this place out. It is delicious. You won’t be disappointed and the pricing is amazing.

There’s a trompo of pastor here. Salsa is spicy and flavorful and they load the tacos up! I’ll be coming back and trying more stuff! Very happy

Al Pastor tacos are among the best I've ever had. Went two days in a row, including a stop just before heading to the airport. Corn tortillas are delicious!

Google
The carne asada and the Al pastor tacos were so so so good! I'm so happy I found this spot as it's close to home. I will definitely be coming back, don't let the dark parking lot stop you from having some of the best tacos! The sauces included were also a perfect level of spicy. Tacos were also reasonably priced!

Yelp
OK. I came here before and did my typical first chorizo and egg on flour and the tortillas weren't very good. When I posted that, the owner said they were store bought, do I should try the home made corn. I don't normally do that for breakfast tacos, but you gotta try it if the owner asks! The corn tortillas are really good. Thicker than usual, so they didn't break down. Light. Fluffy. Quite good. By the way, the salsa packs a punch. Beware. That said, there's a reason I don't love corn for breakfast tacos. For me, it's just too dry. But now I know what I'm coming back for...their pastor on corn!
