I recently paid a visit to Taqueria La Mexicana in Tracy, CA, and I have to admit, it wasn't quite the dining experience I had hoped for. 🌮😕
Now, let me preface this by saying that I'm not one to give low ratings easily. I firmly believe that sometimes, things just don't turn out as expected - hey, "ish happens," right?
So, here's the rundown: I ordered the Al pastor nachos loaded with everything and a super taco prepared the same way. My lady went for a Carne asada taco and an enchilada combo with the same specifications. One of my personal rules of thumb when it comes to Mexican cuisine is that if the rice or chips aren't up to par, chances are the rest of the meal might disappoint, and unfortunately, that turned out to be the case here.
The meal didn't sit well with any of us, and we found ourselves with upset stomachs for the next two days – definitely not the aftermath we were expecting from a dining experience. 😔
I'm willing to give Taqueria La Mexicana another shot in the future. It's entirely possible that it was just an off day in the kitchen. But for now, it's a hard pass from me. I'll need some time to psych myself up for a return visit to see if they can deliver a more satisfying meal. Until then, I'll keep my hopes up
