Yelp
WHY WE WENT HERE:
- family dinner; early birthday dinner for my SIL; Taco Tuesday
THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE):
- located in a plaza off Northgate Blvd in between San Juan Rd and Rio Tierra Ave
- located in the same plaza as Smart & Final Extra! and O'Reilly Auto Parts
- there is a black metal railing that goes across the storefront; so ingress/egress to the storefront is from either end (businesses that sandwich this one)
- no outdoor seating
THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE):
- clean and modern!
- love the lighting and decor
- booth seating with a mix of tables and chairs; booth seating is super comfortable and gives custom car seating
- love the clear frosted labeling for the Aguas Frescas, Salsa Bar, and Chips
- definitely the type of place where you fall in line to order and pay first, are given a number (if you're dining in), you seat yourself, and your order is brought to your table when it's ready

WHAT WE ORDERED:
- Taco Tuesday specials: 3 Street Tacos (cabeza, lengua, tripa + carne asada), 1 street taco (fish) 3 quesa birrias, Taco Salad (shrimp, birria); free medium drinks - aguas frescas (horchata, jamaica, Sprite)
- torta with pollo desebrado (shredded chicken)
- mango margarita (1 on the rocks + 1 blended)
- watermelon margarita (on the rocks)
THE TASTE:
- 3 Street Tacos (cabeza, lengua, tripa): cabeza and lengua were tender and the salsas were good; however, the tripa was the clear winner for me because it was cooked almost like chicharron
- 3 Street Tacos x 2 (carne asada): SIL wasn't pleased with her order; she felt her meat was "chewy"
- 1 Street Taco (fish): SIL loved her fish taco and said she plans to come back the following week (presumably Taco Tuesday again) to order more
- 3 quesa birrias: fiance was pleasantly surprised by the tenderness of the birria and the flavor of the consomme (we haven't had the best luck with anything birria in Natomas)
- Taco Salad (shrimp): SIL enjoyed it but said she wouldn't order it again
- Taco Salad (birria): BIL ate it mainly because he was hungry but felt the meat was plain; he also wondered (but didn't ask) if the beans could be substituted for black beans
- agua fresca (horchata): no complaints on it
- agua fresca (jamaica): no complaints on it
- torta with pollo desebrado (shredded chicken): SIL liked the taste but not the texture, mainly because of the bread; she didn't like that the bread was soft/soggy easily vs. toasted
- mango margarita (on the rocks): fiance enjoyed his drink but "didn't feel anything" in terms of the alcohol
- mango margarita (blended): SIL felt hers was VERY salty
- watermelon margarita (on the rocks): I finished my drink but it really did not taste like watermelon; it was almost like an artificial Jolly Rancher liquified into a margarita
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
- make sure to really look at the order on the screen prior to paying to make sure that any specials are actually implemented; we had to let the cashier know 2x that the medium drinks we had for our Taco Tuesday orders (3 free medium drinks) were showing up as extra charges vs. free
- I didn't like that the margaritas came to the table towards the end of our meal vs. in the beginning
- overall, pleasantly surprised with my experience!
