I am very satisfied with Taqueria La Nueva Vallarta #2 because Maxine’s food was truly exceptional. Every dish was perfectly seasoned, served hot, and full of authentic flavor. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the presentation showed real care. The staff were welcoming, the service was quick, and the entire atmosphere felt warm and inviting. I left completely impressed and would happily return again.

This is a 5 star++++ taqueria! Why am I just finding out about this place. Biria taco and shrimp burrito were out of this world. They have a separate grill for halal. This might be my new favorite spot in Sac!

We came in with a large party for a birthday lunch, and the staff was incredibly accommodating. They allowed us to rearrange the tables to our liking and decorate with balloons and table covers. Handling our large orders was no issue at all—they managed everything smoothly. The food was delicious, especially the nachos and taquitos. Highly recommend this place.

I heard about this restaurant on TikTok, out of all places. They had presented it as Mexican cuisine that serves Halal food. It took me almost an hour drive from my house. To the north gate location, it was world war that drive the atmosphere is amazing.The menu is spectacular and the food is to die for. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

From out of town, always hard finding good places in a town you do not know. This place did not disappoint in any way possible..... food was excellent, service was polite and excellent, large selection of salsas at the self service chip and salsa bar, including delicious roasted jalapeños. Entire place is extremely clean, employees constantly coming around sweeping and cleaning up the salsa bar. Definitely coming here again next time I'm in Sacramento

I am very picky as I used to manage a restaurant. I like the timely food from the excellent menu choices, noticing the quality not just in the main dishes, but the salsa mixtures. Attention to cleanliness, atmosphere, and organization. In addition hard working friendly staff. Finally, the hard work on the money put into the decor and ceiling. My husband and I usually order takeout from this restaurant, but we recently decided to dine in—and it was such a wonderful experience that we came back the very next day. The ambience was warm and inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy our meal. We ordered the mojarra and the Halal chicken tacos, both of which were absolutely delicious and full of rich flavor. Even though we arrived about 20 minutes before closing, the staff graciously welcomed us and made sure we were well taken care of. Their hospitality, along with the amazing food, truly left a lasting impression. We’re so grateful for the experience and can’t wait to return.

Love coming here they have such an incredible atmosphere. It's very bright and lively inside with the most adorable decorations. As soon as you walk in, you stand in line to get your order, you will get a number flag. You can choose anywhere to say you put your little flag there and a waiter or waitress will bring you your food once it is ready. They have an amazing salsa bar that is so stocked. You can get your own chips and any toppings that you would like. The food itself is incredible. The price is pretty moderate for the amount of food that you're getting and everything just taste amazing I got some queso birria Tacos that were incredible crispy and super packed meat. I enjoyed myself and will definitely be back here again.

I had the pleasure of trying Taqueria La Nueva Vallarta on Northgate, which is a hub of authentic Mexican food in North Sacramento, where I grew up. There is everything from taquerias to taco trucks to planchas and pop-up tents. Upon walking in, I realized it's the same menu and layout as Taqueria La Perla Tapatia in Arden, which I tried and rated highly a few months ago, so I already knew what to expect: quick service, a great salsa bar, and excellent authentic food. I tried the carne asada plate this time around, and all of our food came out within minutes of ordering at the counter, along with freshly pressed corn tortillas. The speed was very impressive. I always love their frijoles. The flavor is deep and unique, but I still don't know what it is. Their rice is good, but a little different from traditional Spanish rice. The ultra-thin cut of carne asada was slightly underwhelming and but I was overall really happy with my plate and all the great things to try from the salsa bar. In terms of location, I probably prefer the Arden one for some reason, but it is nice that they are in North Sacramento as well when I am in the area. I think my experience at La Perla was better because I enjoyed sharing their tilapia and molcajete with my family; instead of just ordering a plate for myself this time around. Overall, another solid experience and would come back.

All the stars here are for cleanliness -- hands down the cleanest taco shop I've ever walked into. That's where the positives end. I test every new spot with a classic asada burrito, and this one missed the mark completely. For $14, I got whole beans, plain white rice with corn, and almost no flavor. It felt more like filler than a proper burrito. Surprising, given the 4.3 stars, but definitely not worth the price.

My wife and I Split the Combo Fajitas and couldn't eat it all. The steak, chicken and shrimp melted in our mouths and the flavor was incredible. $21.83 + tax & tip is a DEAL! (Could you get 2 combo meals at Taco Bell for that?)

A great spot for authentic Mexican food! The self-serve salad bar comes with a variety of dips for chips, which are complimentary. Portions are generous and reasonably priced, and the food tastes great. The enchiladas and quesadillas are definitely worth trying. The ambience is pleasant, and we even enjoyed live music during Friday dinner. Free parking makes it even more convenient.

Came here for dinner a few nights ago. The customer service was great. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The location is great and the place is huge and very clean. I ordered the burrito bowl of asada. It was great. The produce was fresh and crunchy. The meat had great flavor. I would go back again.

One-line review: A fabulous taqueria. We went to this place during my birthday trip, and it was so good, we went twice in three days. It was simply excellent. We ordered a variety of things over our two meals -- crispy tacos (carnitas and shredded beef), a sope (carnitas), tostadas (veggie and al pastor), and a taco combo (chorizo, shredded beef, carnitas). Everything was generous and tasty. The chip and salsa bar was also excellent. Our aguas frescas (cucumber and lime, piña) were wonderful as well, though I diluted mine as it was strong (= very sweet). The service was friendly and surprisingly attentive for a taqueria. We were repeatedly asked by the staff how everything was and they cleared our dishes pretty quickly. Parking was free in their shared lot. Bottom line: This may be the best taqueria I've ever been to. Yes, it was that good. If I lived in Sacramento, I'd be eating here multiple times a week... Get it if you can!

My husband was craving Mexican food for lunch today and we happened to be in the area and decided to stop in for the visit time. The inside is so clean and vibrant! I loved the decor with the trees and hanging vines. Lots of tables and booths - everything just felt so new and inviting. They have a huge salsa bar with tons of options, but my favorite was the salsa that came with my meal - it was a mustard salsa that comes with anything shrimp or fish that I had never seen anywhere before. Highly recommend! We ordered the California Burrito, Carnitas Taco, Shrimp Taco and the Kids Cheese Quesadilla Meal that came with rice and beans. Everything was so good and tasted very fresh - the only problem was us adding sour cream to the California Burrito. It definitely did not need it! They make fresh tortillas to order too! The menu was huge and everything sounded good. My husband and I both said that La Nueva is our new favorite spot for sure and we can't wait to come back and try other items! Staff were also very friendly and checked on us a few times. They were very attentive and constantly cleaning up tables as it was pretty busy when we were there. Food also came out quickly! You're missing out if you have not checked them out yet! I can't wait to come back soon!

First time goer definitely going back. To start off the salsa bar is a nice touch, you can grab as many limones as you need. The salsas are good as well, I tried all 3 so there's one for everyone's preference. Super nachos are stacked Service was great, placed my order over the phone and was ready within 12 minutes. They have a really nice sitting area, great for groups, definitely recommend this taqueria. Will be back!

La Nueva Vallarta is a counter-service style taqueria, after you order and grab a table they'll bring out your food when it's ready. It was very clean and modern inside. They do good business and there was a steady stream of customers on a Sunday night. They offer a self-serve chips & salsa bar complimentary. Food was great. I highly enjoyed my street tacos, opted to try 4 different types of meat. My favorite was the carne asada (steak) and al pastor (pork). Each had a slightly different salsa on top. Some had a slight kick to it, but nothing crazy spicy. Tacos were large and had a lot of meat in them which I loved. I was really happy with my choice. My friend opted for a burrito which was also good apparently. The chips and salsa is great and they consistently refilled this. They had some grilled onions and jalapenos here as well. They have to-go bags for the chips if you're doing a pick-up order. Seating is seat yourself, which was intimidating as it seemed so busy. We realized they don't clear the table numbers after delivering your food, so got nervous that it would take ages to get a seat but it only took a minute or so after we ordered until a table cleared up. The have serves clearing/cleaning tables so it was ready for us basically instantly. From entering to getting our food was no more than 10 minutes, they take orders quickly and food comes out quickly. I definitely recommend and hope to try out their other locations sometime.

This is the cleanest and most friendly Mexican food in Natomas and beyond! The staff is so kind. Every table is sparkling clean and the salsa bar is well stocked and delish. We love the fish plate and shredded chicken burrito, also the queso birria tacos. I prefer a bit more cilantro and spice in my food which is why I deducted one Star. However it is still really good and quality. They serve alcohol and fresh juices as well. Nice place for a date night, family dinner or any occasion.

Came here while waiting for my car to be done at Les Schwab and wanted to see why this place got good reviews. I ordered the veggie burrito bowl, good portions and fast service but wish they offered choice of beans. I guess the standard is white beans but I'd prefer black * requested for extra pico de gallo, cilantro and jalapeños- only for extra wet jalapeños, no extra pico or cilantro . At least comp chips and salsa bar had extra pico available but I wish I didn't have to add my own especially since I asked. I gave it three stars cuz service was prompt, place is clean and atmosphere is chill and casual. I got my food to go but I ended up eating half there. Their pineapple drink was refreshing but a bit on sweet side. Good for people who love sugar, not me.

This is the second takeout that I have had old & burnt meat in my burrito. I shouldn't have given them a second chance. It's unfortunate that this location's quality is so bad, because the Marconi & Roseville locations have always been consistently good. I had to throw out the entire burrito, and had the chips & salsa for dinner. I won't be going back.

After a long day in mid-town, we decided to give this place a try. The menu is very extensive so we settled on a shrimp quesadilla and Birria de res soup. While we briefly waited, we had some complimentary chips and salsa. The quesadilla was really good - not overly cheesy and a nice tortilla. The Birria soup was perfect, with tender beef and a rich stock Service here is super friendly and this place is immaculately clean. No table was left dirty for more than 30 seconds. I would definitely come back here!

While in Sacramento we were craving some authentic Mexican food. This taqueria did not disappoint! The cashier was very nice and patient with all our party including kids deciding what to eat. They have the most delicious tripa tacos. The yellow tortillas really embrace the Mexican street flavor. We loved they had kid friendly options. To top it off, the salsa bar gives your meal the extra touch. We will definetly return when being in the area.

I never stop insisting that if you want good Mexican food, make it at home. This is the reason why I don't really eat Mexican food out. It will never be as good as the one your mom or abuela makes. Mexican food out is also pretty pricey. We paid close to 80 dollars for about 5 of us. Food was nothing special, most of us weren't able to finish it. I like their nacho bar though. Soft drinks could have a bit more options though.

One of the cleanest Taqueria restaurants I've ever visited. Went in early before the dinner rush. Like a typical Taqueria restaurant, you order at the counter, they give you a number, you find a seat, and you help yourself with chips and salsa while waiting for your food. The food came out quick. Ordered the Quesabirria. Cheese was melted and the shredded beef was tender. The consume and salsa that it came with was a nice touch. They have so many options to choose from. Would definitely visit again and try the tacos. Oh and the customer service was great. Above average in my opinion.

This place is amazing. Came here on accident. I thought I was going to go to another Mexican restaurant on the other side of north gate, but one no complaint heI love their selection of their salsa bar. They have a variety of salsa and other items to choose from, which is included in the purchase. I have it every day lunch special. I had two Carnitas tacos and a Carne saw the taco they were yummy. The rice was made perfectly. The service was amazing. I definitely like the people who work there were so friendly and they kept on checking on us. I see the ambience was pretty good. There was a homeless lady hanging around but the staff seemed to be aware of her and she didn't bother much. But other than that. A def place to go to.

The most delicious street tacos ever! The staff were AMAZING! The added BONUS was that I came on a Taco Tuesday!!! You cannot beat their price and quality and selection of tacos! They also have an oasis of salsa and other pickled sides!!! My only regret was not trying out this place much sooner! I hope to be more of a regular here!

I was just looking for a place to unwind on a Friday night and found this location. First thing you notice walking in is the cleanliness!!! The music playing wasn't too loud and the overall atmosphere was perfect to eat and have a comfortable conversation. The staff were super polite and service was FAST! I was just wanting street tacos, but ending up getting a chicken flautas plate and adding two street tacos on the side. I must stay both plates were stuff with lots of meat! The flautas were good crispy all the way, and the tacos had a mound of carnitas on top. When I ordered the large margarita it was GRANDE! My favorite part of the my dinner was this pink looking jelly that was actually habanero salsa. It had a somewhat pickled flavor but hit that spicy hot spot just right. I mixed it with my guacamole and this green cilantro salsa they had that their chip and salsa bar! I must say I was pretty impressed! Thank you for the wonderful experience and delicious food!

We decided to come here on date night Saturday and it was wonderful. The customer service was A+. The food was super good and we will most definitely be back. We both have the enchilada plate.

I'll save you some reading- the halal options will make your visit worthwhile. The chicken def puts the beef to shame, which is not typically the case. The lunch specials are affordable and a salsa and chips bar like the one they have here should be standard at every neighborhood taco joint.

Food: We ordered the tacos piña Nieto and the piña loka. Both were delicious! The meat was perfectly cooked and flavorful. My husband had an agua fresca and I had a fresh squeezed juice- so good! They have a menu with lots of options- including breakfast items! We will have to go back to try some of the breakfast options. Service: The service here was great! We were kindly greeted. They came and checked on us often. Friendly and great attitude. Ambiance: this place just opened and they did a great job on the design! The inside looks modern and cheerful. Super clean! Overall, this is a 5/5 for me! Definitely a new favorite for Mexican food!! I love that there's so many options so there's always something new to try!

The whole family likes coming here. Food is good, agua frescas are fresh and not overdone with sugar, staff is always nice and you can't beat the salsa bar. It's always clean and busy when we go. I've tried a variety of different things from quesabirria tacos, breakfast tacos, the pina taco trio, nachos, crispy tacos, street tacos etc. it's always consistently good and fresh. There are a lot of taco options on Northgate and this is one of the best.

I recently visited this restaurant and ordered a chicken burrito bowl, which was very yummy. I decided to eat in, and the portion was literally enough for two meals, but I was so hungry that I ate it all. I loved the salsa bar. They also have alcoholic beverages that looked so good, but I didn't indulge because I was headed for a workout. I definitely want to try more items from this location. They have a big salsa bar with so many salsas to choose from. They were busy on a weekend day. Service was fast a they bring the food to your table after you order at the counter.

We recently got some takeout from here. I tried to call to place an order for pick up but there was no answer so I had to place it online. Food was ready when I arrived and easy to pick up. There was a fresh salsa bar with chips as well, we tried a few different ones. 2/3 salsas were fairly bland and missing seasoning. It was a stark difference from recently trying fresh salsa elsewhere. We tried a cheese quesadilla which was tiny. I was surprised. The veggie burrito didn't have much flavor andy husband's huevos rancheros was average. The tortillas were fresh and you can see them preparing them inside! Overall a bit disappointing meal.

Everytime I come here the food is hot and fresh I've been here a total of 6 times! This food is so god and always great customer service. 10/10 highly recommend!!

The food here is amazing first and foremost. I have been here several times and typically order different things to try. One of my favorite things is the carne en su jugo. Absolutely delicious highly recommend. The other day I had crispy tacos. I do have to say that their carnitas are a little bit on the salty side and i have had tacos de carnitas on different occasions. Their fish and shrimp tacos are tasty and reasonably priced. Taco tuesday is a definite must. The decor inside and ambiance is good, just wish there was more seating as it gets pretty packed.

The tacos de adobada were delicious. The meat was nicely seasoned. We were here during lunch hour and by the time we got our chips and salsa our food was ready.

We enjoyed lunch today but next time I plan to try the fish taco without all the sour cream & all which is in the crispy fish taco... it tasted good but I should have paid more attention to the ingredients.... I prefer more fish and less of the other stuff. My friends like the food they ordered

Came here on a Saturday at lunchtime with my hubby. It was so packed! Luckily there wasn't a line to order and we decided to try 3 things. We had the birria tacos with the consume, he had a California Burrito and I had a regular burrito with carne asada and rice only. They had a nice salsa/chips bar and the interior was decorated nicely. I had to wait about 10-15 mins for my order which was not bad at all. There were a lot of families but the noise level wasn't too bad. The food itself was so good! My husband finally found a new favorite and the birria tacos were delicious! My burrito was dry but that was my fault for not adding any salsa or sauce. It's on my way home so it's convenient.

I had the carne asada super nachos they were delicious!! These nachos were so fresh. You could taste each component of the nachos. The ambience was nice. Casual with nice music playing and greenery everywhere. The service was excellent too. I initially ordered tacos and then changed to the nachos and the cashier quickly told the kitchen and got my nachos out promptly.

I love this place! The carne asada fries are amazing and the guava-strawberry Fresca is deliciously refreshing! The ambiance of the location is as enjoyable as the food too. I found mold in my tortilla for the tacos. I had eaten 3 already. Unfortunately it was in the bottom tortilla and I saw it after lifting the top part of the taco. I used to be really obsessed with this restaurant, I fear their quality and flavour has gone down significantly. Service is absolutely amazing, the food had become disappointing.

Stopped here on my way to Tahoe. We sat outside on the patio which was lovely bc we had our chihuahua with us. Inside is new and clean. Chips are salsa were very good and fresh. Lots of yummy salsa options. We ordered vegetarian burritos and they were very tasty and inexpensive. The people who worked there were friendly. Recommend this spot.
