We decided to try something new after reading a review online, and we chose to visit Taqueria La Nueva Vallarta. As soon as we stepped inside, a friendly employee welcomed us, which set a positive tone for our experience. The menu featured an impressive range of options, including tacos, burritos, fajitas, soups, and various plates. The cashier was patient and helpful as we took our time deciding on our orders, which we appreciated. The salsa bar offered a good variety of choices; however, we noticed that most of the salsas lacked significant heat, which could be enhanced for those who enjoy spicier flavors. Additionally, my husband felt that some of the salsas had an odd, almost 'fishy' taste. The speed of service was commendable; our food arrived in about five minutes, which was quicker than we expected. We hadn’t even finished our chips and salsa when our dishes were served, showcasing the kitchen's efficiency. The staff was also attentive, checking in on us several times to ensure we had everything we needed. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and were pleased with the service. The food wasn't exactly flavorful, and almost bland; the rice and beans were mediocre. Personally, they aren't exactly what I am used to, which would be more flavorful sides. I'm not sure we will return, but I am happy that we tried it. It was very clean, and a nice experience. As one reviewer stated, it might be a ' one and done', which for us it is.

Either you're going to love this place or it's a Once and done. Everything tastes fresh and is made to order. You won't find a pool of grease on your plate, just fresh ingredients. There was a lack of flavor in everything we ate. Even the salsa was bland. The margarita was huge, but tasted watered down. The street tacos came from the kitchen hot and melted in your mouth with no flavor. If you prefer your food on the bland side, this is your type of Mexican restaurant. I would recommend the restaurant switch to table service instead of having people stand in line. This is not a good date spot, because there's nothing to do besides have dinner.

First-time customer. The menu has a lot of variety from tacos, burritos, dinner plates, and lunch specials. The service was fast and friendly. Food was made fresh and fast. I had 2 tacos carne Asada with beans and rice. They were delicious! The beans were delicious. They were made with chorizo. Definitely recommend stopping by.

I love a Cubana Torta. After research I found this place served that variety. This was the biggest Torta I’ve ever had. Each half was as big as any other Torta I’ve ever had. Surprisingly I found out that this would be the first Cubana I’ve had with fried eggs on one! It was delicious!!

Loved the atmosphere and music ,also tacos were great and salsa bar clean and everything so fresh!!

Good mexican restaurant, camarones a la diabla is my all-time favorite Mexican food. It was flavorful and tasty, but not spicy enough for me. My husband thinks their taco has way too many veggies, but I do like this place and want to come back and try other menu, they have a big selection 😋

This is unarguably the best Mexican food in Sacramento. I would put this place plate for plate against anywhere in the area. From the birria tacos to the pastor burritos to the piña loca! A hollowed out grilled pineapple converted into a bowl with meat, bacon and cheese w/ tortillas!! It goes crazy, their fresh juices, I love the green one, their salsas, their flan!! Man I'm gonna go there today... The staff and service is amazing. Manny and his team always make me feel at home. It's always nice and clean inside which I appreciate. They cater too, we've used them for numerous events. Incredible spot. You will be thoroughly impressed. Enjoy :)

Pretty good to be around the area. Ordered their tacos and quesabirria. Really like the birria , the consomé is gelatinous after refrigerating it! A lot of places are so diluted. Definitely, going back when I crave for tacos and I don't want to find a taco trucks. Btw, love their salsa bar!!! Too good that I forgot the pics!

I visited the restaurant for a quick bite to eat. When I went to order, it seemed like the cashier was annoyed I interrupted her personal conversation to place my order. I ordered carnitas tacos with rice and beans. The tacos were good, but wasn't a fan of how the beans were prepared. Maybe I'd visit again, but likely will visit another taqueria in the future.

We walked in on a Thursday afternoon and it was packed. It was our second visit, hubs had a burrito with green sauce and I tried the taco salad both with carne asada. The salsa bar and chips were fresh and plentiful. I added three types of salsa and picketed jalopenos to my salad trying to boost the flavor and spice...nothing! The hubs was happy with his burrito but for me, I needed more flavor and heat. I have to say the prices were steep! $15 for a burrito, $20+ for a combo plate????

You know the place is good when there is a line. You order in the front and they will deliver your food in your table. We got crispy carnitas tacos, wet burrito, carnitas plate, and Molcajete. Everything was delicious The kids and adult loved their lunch. The carnitas is moist and crispy which I love . The Molcajete is full of flavor. We also got the pineapple Fresca and that was refreshing. I wanted Mexican food and glad I found this place. Highly recommend!

I don't want to even tell you about this place because it is SO DELICIOUS! In fact, THE BEST FOOD IVE EVER HAD!! I'm serious! Check out Taco Tuesday (arrive early) But any day of the week the food is cooked to perfection and the Best margaritas ever! Glad our friends recommended it. And the best beans I've ever had!!

Visited this place as we were looking for a good Mexican food place and so glad we found it. The was a very delicious choice and the Yelpers got it right! The carne asada plate was good with a good portion of meat and rice and beans. Only very small negative here is the beans appear to have chorizo in them which I don't really like. Nonetheless next time I would request regular beans. The rice was nice and fluffy and what made this a truly good Mexican restaurant was as the aguas frescas they had plenty of! Both my guest's plate and my plate were really good! Now we will be driving 35 mins to get here to enjoy a good Mexican meal! Definitely recommend this place if in the area! The service was good as this is an order at the counter place. The ambiance is newer and very clean.

Taqueria La Nueva is a lively and popular spot! We were visiting with family and they took us here. The decor was modern and graphical, like typography. Inside dining was booth seating along with table seating. Order at the counter, pay, get a number. They will bring your food when it's ready. Service was good, as they come around to take your plates/baskets when you are finished. All Day Lunch Special: (3) street tacos served with rice & beans, onions, cilantro, pico de gallo, cheese & 21 oz. fountain drink (Horchata). Choice of meats were Asada (steak), Pollo (chicken), Carnitas (fried pork). I opted for the tripa over the pollo. The tacos had a good portion of meat on them and were delicious! I like the tripa because it was deep-fried so you got that crunch. Their rice and beans were different in appearance than other places but very delicious. Menudo: soup of beef tripe, hominy, corn tortillas (2.5/5). Served with dried chilis, chili oil, diced onions, cilantro, half a lime, & dried oregano you could add to the soup. The tripe was soft and chewy and the hominy and corn tortillas were good. But, the soup had that gamey, pungent smell & taste that was off-putting. I've had menudo at other taquerias, which had a cleaner broth. Sorry, just my opinion. My wife ordered the... Quesa Birria: Crispy Corn tortilla, melted cheese, shredded beef, w/side of onion, cilantro, consomme (4/5). My wife enjoyed this. She could actually taste the crunchy crispiness of the corn tortilla. She let me have a bite. Tender stewed beef and the consomme was delicious! Taco Governador: fried fish (or shrimp) taco, cabbage, cheese, pico de gallo, & chipotle sauce (3/5). My wife thought it was ok. I ate a few pieces of the fried fish and I liked it. The chip and salsa bar was outstanding because it had your usual fixings of radishes, pickled carrots/jalapeño, lime wedges, but also had a lot of choices on salsas and sour cream. Support your local business! We'll be back.

Wow what an amazing experience! Finally a great tasting Mexican restaurant in our area! We ordered the street tacos de asada and a strawberry margarita that's was so big! Everything was delicious and we shall return soon! The restaurant was clean and many areas to sit. The service was great and very helpful while ordering. We can not wait to return!

As a vegetarian, it's sometimes hard to find Mexican places that have a really good burrito because they specialize in flavoring their meats so I was over the moon to find this place! GREAT flavor in their vegetarian burrito and their salsa bar is incredible. They also have a really good selection of aguas frescas and the prices are totally reasonable. Fast, friendly service, even during a rush. Would highly recommend.

This place was very clean! The food was great as well. I got two carnitas tacos & one pastor. Other family members got a shrimp burrito & pozole. The place is small so I wouldn't recommend going here with a large party. The service was great also great. Definitely recommend this place.

This is our spot! And everyone else's too so it stays busy! Plan accordingly lol it is a taqueria so the dining area isn't huge but it's well worth the wait! The salsa bar my favorite- they have a huge variety of incredibly flavorful salsas to choose from or try all of them! The food- man where do I start... the piña nieto tacos will make you fall in LOVE! anything with al pastor is amazing, my son usually gets the kids crispy taco meal. If you want something special- order the Torre de Marisco omg it's incredible!! Ask for the black sauce on the side, too! Oh and check out what Agua Fresca they have- the cucumber lime is my favorite! The staff here are so welcoming and attentive. Food comes out fast and always fresh!

Where has this place been hiding? Was out in Roseville, hubby was craving Mexican food. Pulled up my trusty Yelp app and found this gem. Went on a Sunday for lunch - place was crowded but it was still easy to find a seat. We shared an El Pastor Burrito. It was so yummy. They had a very nice chips/salsa bar that they kept refilling. Service was great. They had staff delivering food, clearing tables and I was shocked to be asked if I needed anything by one of the staff members (great job). Restaurant was clean. Located just next to In-N-Out. Great testament to this restaurant that it was so busy located next to an In-N-Out. Will definitely add this to our rotation when we're in Roseville. Check it out!

Very disappointing dining experience at this Taqueria recently. My husband loves this restaurant, I have never been completely sold, and our last visit confirmed this. Yes, they were very busy, it was prime dinnertime and the line to order continued to be long. However please, pay attention to what you are delivering to your customer! I ordered the crispy chicken tacos and what I was delivered was a greasy mess of soggy fried tortilla shells, dripping in oil. There were two on the plate, the first one I managed to get down, the second one was absolutely thrown together with the fillings, and the shell was so soggy the thing completely fell apart. This was my last visit here. Sorry.

We were starvingggg after topgolf and searched for Mexican food in Roseville. We are so glad that we chose this instead of plain ole Canes. The service was so quick. By the time we grabbed our drinks and salsas, the food was already coming to our table. They were pretty fairly priced too. I wish I took pics but as soon as the food came, we started grubbing. We are all the way in Vallejo and were willing to drive out there again just for the food. Can't wait to go back.

Nice, clean place. Chips & salsa bar. we didn't like the salsas. The pico was good and fresh though. The super nacho was pretty good. Has some sour cream & guac, pico, some jalapeños, plenty of shredded white cheese. The refried beans are different, but I like them and thought they should put more on the nacho. The carne asada was cut into tiny tiny pieces. Overall good, and I would try something else on the menu as well.

OK, it was time to return here. This time, it was a take-out pickup order, and everything went super smoothly. It's located and tucked away in one of the many non-descript retail strip malls in Roseville. This one has a BevMo, In-n-Out Burger, Krispe Kreme, and lots of other stores. It was nice to see the place. It's pleasant, clean, and full of patrons, primarily Hispanic, which was a sign of good food and quality. I used to frequent Mexican and Central American restaurants in the Fruitvale area of Oakland specifically for that reason. Many "family owned", and you rarely get a bad meal. Here, you order everything at the main counter, and off to the side is a place for salsa, extras, and chips. They provide bags for chips to go. The order was ready to go. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I had a carnitas burrito that was delicious and ever so good. One of the best around. I intended to eat half but finished it off. I just couldn't stop it was so good. Any downside? It all feels a lot like a "fast food" establishment, which it is truly one step above, yet it feels like it. There's plenty of parking. This will definitely be a regular on my go-to list! Try it for really good Mexican food.

Nice tasting food. Service was great. We ordered enchiladas, tacos (a variety), a quesadilla, and some other stuff. All of it was great. Enchiladas weren't the best we had but they were good, and we will definitely be going back. It's small inside but the space isn't horrible. Lots of outdoor seating.

Pina Nietos Tacos = epic experience! (ask for the meat and cheese extra crispy) This place is so solid and though a broad menu offering, I've only had the pina nietos tacos and tortas here and never order anything else because they're soooooo good. They have. Super strong salsa bar that reminds me of my Grandma Garcia's salsas. Love, love this place

I love this place. Best Mexican food I've found in Roseville and it's in a very busy area. Always worth the wait. Staff works fast and keeps the restaurant nice and clean. I come here for my mariscos and michelada fix

This is a great taqueria and always hits the spot! I've been here a couple times on various days and times and it's always pretty busy!  They have a decent amount of seating inside as well as some outdoor seating too. When it's a weekend night it can sometimes be hard to find seating.  They have an expansive menu including breakfast plates, taco lunch special, burritos, tacos, tostadas, torta, nachos, enchiladas, caldos, cocktails and molcajetes and mojarras. I've tried the shrimp tacos a couple of times and they are always so delicious! I usually get a side of rice and it is very tasty too.  I highly recommend this spot for a good meal and a well priced taqueria.

Very nice staff. The Tortilla soup is not good. I LOVE Tortilla soup and this tasted bad. Like all of the left overs are thrown into a pot and the soup base was not good. Chicken with Fat on it. It was nasty. Also, the Fish taco was not good. I pulled apart my taco to find the fish and its was covered in a ton of cabbage and you would laugh to have seen how tiny of a piece of fried hard fish was in there. It was not good. VERY Nice and clean inside. Just not sure about the food.

Thìs place and I go way back! Own and run by family. Their supper nice and sweet! Food are always yummy, never let me down. I've cater with them before.

We had been wanting to check this place out for a while now and decided to visit today, on our way back home from Tahoe. We went during lunch time and place was busy for a Monday, but not super packed. We ordered kids quesadillas which came with rice and beans and a drink, kids loved it except the beans were spicy for them . Next time I'll ask for whole beans instead of refried beans since those seem to be more like charro beans. My husband liked his street tacos and carne asada fries were delicious! I liked my ceviche tostada although I won't order again, it needed more lime and salt, and they put carrots in it which I personally don't like in my fish ceviche. My husband's ceviche is way better lol but I loved my quesa birria taco, so delicious! The aguas frescas were also good, I got a strawberry water and my husband an horchata. Prices were super reasonable also and customer service was excellent. I also like that they have all you can eat chips and salsa :) can't wait to go back!

We love this place! Don't come here! They're busy enough. xD The food quality is equivalent to the those expensive restaurants in the area for less of the cost. They have a large menu and trust me.. everything hits.

fantastic chips and aqua fresca. we had a carnitas burrito and it fed both of us for a meal and a half. service was great. had we more time, we'd have tried one of the plates. the only negative is it shares a parking lot with an in-n-out burger, so the lot gets pretty crowded!

Got all the way home and this is what I see. To logs of tortillas either as little toppings as they could put. I am a long time patron and this makes me mad to my core. $24 for this. I want my money back.

This place was great. We ordered the tower, a fish taco, and two Micheladas. The fish taco wasn't that great, it smelled a bit off so I wouldn't recommend it, but luckily I chose not to finish it. The tower was humongous, that was enough for my husband and myself even had to take some home. The Miche's were delicious, definitely recommend those. Next time I will try a different menu item besides the fish. The restaurant was clean and smelled nice. Customer service was ok, not super friendly or pleasant but you can't win them all.

Definitely the best Mexican food in Roseville. The "Al Pastor" is personally my favorite. The carnitas were good, the asada were solid choices! Love that the chips are Free with plenty of Pico De Gallo! This alone puts them ahead of the contest! I asked to speak to the manager because I will be placing a 100 taco order for a party. His name is Mannie and he was very helpful and polite. Will be back fasho!

My favorite taqueria in Roseville! Great selection of items on a big menu. Everything I have tried..street tacos, fajitas and breakfast burritos have been great! Favorite menu item has to be the Pina Nieto tacos! Salsa bar is great to. Restaurant is nice and clean really good service and atmosphere!

A delightful surprise how tasty the food is here. Clean little restaurant. A dozen or so 4 top tables and a few booths to seat 4 diners. Busy take out traffic. Order and pay at the cash register and take a number. We waited less than 10 minutes for the food to be brought to the table. My steak ranchero was excellent. AND BIG! Lots of slivered meat, grilled with lots of onions, jalapenos, and spices. Sides or guacamole, rice, beans, salad & tortillas were also delicious. Flour tortillas were some of the best quality I've had in quite a while. This giant plate of food for $16.99 is an absolute bargain. Two adults could actually share this meal and be satisfied. Complimentary tortilla chips under the warming lamp are good quality. Adjacent salsa bar has an impressive variety of items. I sampled most of them. All fresh, delicious. Nice folks all around. Friendly and helpful. If you love Mexican chow and have not yet eaten here I highly recommend that you do.

Peña Nieto Tacos Al Pastor Tacos with pineapple - kind of reminiscent of Tacos El Gordo, but on another level with the crispy shell and cheese skirt. Gordo's tacos are probably the best I've ever had, but these are on par with them with the spin they put on it. Very balanced flavor profile and definitely worth trying! Environment feels very welcoming, and the staff is friendly and attentive. First time here, and got lucky I beat the lunch crowd - I can see how this place can get busy during lunch and dinner. They also have a full salsa bar with salsas and free chips - can't wait to come back and try more menu items!

My tennis team came here after a long day of tennis and we wanted carbs! This was the highest-rated place we all agreed on in the area and when we walked in on a Saturday night after 7pm, it was packed. It was difficult to get a seat so we sat outside where they had heat lamps. An employee told us while we were in line to order that it'd be a long time until we got our food because they were behind, but then they were delivered to us much earlier than expected! The chips and salsa area (free) was extensive, as is their menu. I enjoyed Street fish and shrimp tacos and a Quesabirria taco, and comrades enjoyed large burritos, fajitas (seemed like the highlight of all of our orders!) Would be back if I was in the area.

I've said this too much now, but coming from SoCal you really just don't get the same level of Mexican food here. Not to say it's not as authentic here, it's just different but it generally lacks in overall flavor, texture, etc vs SoCal...that said, this place was pretty good! Still not quite the comparison, but it was very good and better than I expected. My burrito had a very generous portion of really good carnitas (really tender and some crispy bits too), and the only thing it was missing was a fresh tortilla. That would've honestly put it up there. Now let's talk about everything else. The value is incredible. My burrito (on the larger side) was around $11, but that includes free self serve chips, an awesome salsa bar, and they deliver your food and clean up your table. Also, the staff is super friendly here, even during a dinner rush - and yes, the place was packed on a Wednesday around 7pm. So overall, I'll for sure be back because of the whole experience. Maybe the food is a solid 4 stars, but everything else makes it an easy 5 stars.

Family friendly atmosphere! They had a chips and salsa bar. Salsas were very fresh and tasty! Staff constantly cleaning the restaurant and checking on us. Service was great!

Amazing food. Amazing service. All the time. One of my favorite spots for QuesaBirria tacos. I've had majority of this menu. It's all been great. From Super Burritos and Chimichangas, to tacos, tortas, and tostada's. Quesadillas, Nachos... Everything is great here. Don't sleep on this one. The only thing I can say, is parking kind of sucks cause of the dumb In and Out Drive thru. But otherwise. It's well worth the walk across the parking lot.

As a mexican food LOVER, i'm always nervous to try new places. But on our quick stop during a road trip, this was the best choice! the service was quick and kind, both while taking the order and when receiving the order. the chips are complementary which is refreshing as so many places now a days seem to nickel and dime. there was outside and inside seating, with subtle music playing in the background. I knew it was going to be good the moment I stepped in the place was hopping! definitely a fan favorite and will return again on our next road trip!

Decent food overall in a nice atmosphere. Lots of salsas to choose from and they are tasty. A little costly but with inflation and the cost of everything it is fair and reasonable.

I ordered takeout from this restaurant on a Sunday night and my order was fulfilled quickly! My super burrito was delicious and had great ratios of the ingredients. Their chips and salsa bar is my favorite in the area, and as usual, it was fully-stocked and clean- despite being rush hour!

We decided to try something different even though we were originally going to go to In-N-Out and I'm glad we tried it. The feel of the restaurant was very Mexican and felt authentic. I loved how they had a chips and salsa bar free with your meal. It was very busy when we got there and it took a little while to get our food but that was fine since they were super busy. The food was pretty good. The burritos were HUGE!!! The shrimp burrito was good but the shrimp was not seasoned. Seems like they just boiled it to cook the shrimp. The other burritos my family loved. It all was very filling. Although we did fill up mostly on chips and salsa. We will definitely go again and maybe try something new.

When I'm craving tacos, this is where I end up. I always get the quesabirria tacos, but this time decided to also try carne asada street tacos and the caldo de camaron. Tacos were delicious, and the caldo de camaron was good. Lots of shrimp and veggies.

This is our #1 Mexican food spot to go in Roseville! The best chile rellenos. Delicious authentic taqueria style Mexican food!
